NEW ARRIVALS

FUSION FARM- Rush Job ( 1971 Stooges-like psych)-Label:SHADOKS MUSIC (GERMANY) Shadoks Music present a reissue of Fusion Farm's Rush Job, originally released in 1971. After many years of trying to locate the band to properly reissue Rush Job, a daughter of one of the band members coincidentally found Shadoks through social media. The album originally was very limited release on the S.R.T label with a hand-sprayed cover, very much like Tony Caro & John's All On The First Day (1972). Originals are very rare, fetching high prices on the collectors market. This reissue includes tracks from the rare 1974 single Fat Judy/Gypsy Mountain Woman. Fusion Farm got radio play and played a lot of shows in London and the surrounding cities before heading off to Europe to gig constantly. Germany became a second home, in particular Frankfurt and Munich and they found favor playing at many US army air bases. Fusion Farm played the Frankfurt Festhalle, with a 15,000 capacity, supporting Bad Company and Black Oak Arkansas. This show is infamous because Black Oak Arkansas never showed up and a riot ensued, leaving the venue trashed. The band changed personnel several times but the core of the band and song-writing team of Bob Bett and Normal Ley remained constant. The band split in 1979 to pursue other projects. Rush Job includes snotty, Stooges-like psych songs, with great guitars, drums, cool vocals and bass. Some tracks are dreamy and some are very powerful British underground tunes. CD $18 SKU:18215

SOGGYST- (78 STOOGES/ALICE COOPER STYLE RARITY)- Label:OUTER BATTERY RECORDS "Formed in 1978, Soggy started with covers of Alice Cooper, Black Sabbath, MC5 and the Stooges but quickly began writing their own songs and developed a unique style, mixing hard rock and punk rock in a Stooges vein. In April of '81, the Waiting For The War 7" was released and a video was shot for French TV. After more than 100 concerts, the band split in July of 1982 but their cult status has only grown over the years. The French label Memoire Neuve released their record in an edition of just 500 copies and it is now long out of print. Original copies of that LP and the single are now in hot demand in collector circles, with original copies of the single selling for over $200. This release from Outer Battery is the full LP, including the tracks from the Waiting For The War single!" CD $15 SKU:18214

SUN RA & THE BLUES PROJECT -Batman And Robin PIC. DISC-Label:DOXY (Russian Federation) Picture disc reissue of Sun Ra & The Blues Project's Batman And Robin, originally released in 1966. This novelty album, released during the height of the Batman And Robin craze, was initially credited to the "The Sensational Guitars of Dan and Dale" and featured an album full of tracks based on the popular TV show like "The Batman Theme Song", "The Penguin Chase", and "The Batcave". The album is entirely instrumental, except for someone singing "Batmaaaan!" in the theme song. But the interesting thing about this album, and what makes it an absolute cult gem, are the musicians who are behind it all: basically a joint collaboration between Sun Ra's Arkestra and Danny Kalb's Blues Project (one of the first psychedelic rock bands as well as one of the world's first jam bands). "Dan and Dale" were actually blues guitarist Danny Kalb and Steve Katz (later ofBlood, Sweat And Tears) on dueling guitars, while Sun Ra and Al Kooper take over organ duties (a Hammond B-3) and members of Ra's Arkestra play sax.HIGHLIGHTS- This entirely instrumental novelty album is an absolute cult gem LP $24 SKU:18212

SPACEMEN 3-Live at the New Morning, Geneva, Switzerland, 18.05.1989-Label:SPACE AGE (UK) First CD edition of Live at the New Morning, Geneva, Switzerland, 18.05.1989 by Spacemen 3, originally released in 2014 as a limited-edition vinyl-only release on Swiss label Mental Groove Records. Fold-out card wallet featuring liner notes by Sonic Boom and previously unseen photographs. Digitally remastered by John A. Rivers at Woodbine Street studio in 2015. Recorded in Geneva, Switzerland, during Spacemen 3's 1989 European tour, while the band was in sublime form, this release further cements their reputation as one of the most influential and seminal bands of the space rock and drone rock worlds. As Sonic Boom recalls, "I seem to remember this show more distinctly than most, and always did. Spacemen 3 was a band not overly loved in their day. It was tough, or at least uneasy. Musically people thought we were some sort of twisted joke. Which in some ways we were. You needed to be bloody-minded to make this music at that time. The set presented here, is as it was . . . except the show was twice this length. We tuned and smoked for almost as long as we played. And then our disenfranchise moment, installed to filter the wheat from the chaff in our audiences -- the sprawling 'Suicide' wheeled out here in a long mischievous version. We slipped away mid-song amongst much fog and dry ice. With taped down keys and feeding back guitars propped against our speaker cabs keeping the song pulsating and screaming. Disappearing back down to the already too familiar dressing room. We rolled large smokes and cracked fresh drinks. And finally after an extended 'break' re-appeared on stage. Not to wind down as normal at that juncture, but to re-fire up the piece for a further onslaught. Extending the maelstrom as bloody mindedly as we could. We always 'sensed' when we were unwanted . . . which was most of the time we left the cosy confines of our white 'sprinter' van. Never get out of the van . . . fucking tigers! But then again . . . maybe . . . just maybe . . . and it's only a maybe . . . maybe l don't remember a thing." CD $21 SKU:17457

CIRCUS DAYS VOL. 1- 6 CD box set ( 60s psych) Label:PARTICLES A Compendium of Pop Psych Curios: 104 tracks of weird and wonderful British pop-sike. Contained herein is a library of lost and rare recordings from the Great British psychedelic era; a compendium of pop-sike curios and exotic aural pleasures from the past has been assembled for the connoisseur with regard to the ladies and gentlemen of particular fancy and grand distinction. It was 1966 - music was becoming richer, subtler, more experimental, far more interesting. The industry got into gear and a myriad of one-off records came tumbling out. Some were plain tongue-in-cheek joke psychedelia, whilst others were creating something magnificent. Thats what you have here: 104 tracks, all remastered, the cream of the crop circle, some wacky, like Peter Cook & Dudley Moore on Bedazzled - from the film that caught the spirit of the era (A sample lyric: Girl: "You drive me wild." Guy: "You fill me with inertia.")
Other gems come from the unearthing of one-offs. Recorded in a swathe of bouncy, all-you-need-is Pop-pirate good humour, and a floppy hat innocence, the flood of summer-fun, go-go goodies lasted until the early 70s. While the 'real' groups became ever more laid back (some almost horizontal), pop-sike flourished.
And finally, theres a smattering of curious Mystery Tracks throughout.
This is the OFFICIAL box set, with original sleeve artwork faithfully re-produced and sanctioned by the original Strange Happenings label. Fantastically entertaining, in-depth, well-researched 56-page book written by the founder of cult label Dig The Fuzz, with rare, never-before-seen photos of the artists COMP CD $42 SKU:12448

AGNES STRANGE- Strange Flavour (1975 obscure hard rock gem)Label:RADIATION DELUXE SERIES (SPAIN) 180-gram LP. Limited edition of 500. Originally released in 1975 on the BirdsNest label, the sole album by boogie stompers Agnes Strange is an obscure hard rock gem begging to be rediscovered. Formed in Southampton, UK, in the mid-'70s by Alan Green (bass), Dave Rodwell (drums), and John Westwood (guitar, vocals), Agnes Strange failed to reach any glory or fame, but their legacy of heavy rock riffs, raw leads, and tough attitude -- with a spacey Hawkwind-esque touch here and there -- helped them reach cult status among '70s rock fanatics LP $26 SKU:17195

HUBBS, STAN - Crystal (80s stoner rock) Label:COMPANION RECORDS Finally the official vinyl reissue of Stan Hubbs' 1982 Crystal LP is available. 500 faithful repros were made of this confounding slab of stoner rock, each including a replica of the original 16 page booklet. Crystal was recorded in Hubbs' rural Sonoma county living room and just like the original, this reissue was mastered and cut by Paul Stubblebine, pressed by RTI and housed in heavy, old-style jackets." JOKERS WILD-Liquid Giraffe(Heavy underground rock with great composed songs, fuzz guitars, speedy drums and tight bass lines)Label:SHADOKS MUSIC (GERMANY) 2016 repress, originally released in 2013. Jokers Wild recorded three singles between 1967 and 1969 in Minnesota but the complete album, Liquid Giraffe, was never released. Starting as a five man band, most of the material was recorded by the three main members: Lonnie Knight, Denny Johnson and Pete Huber. Lonnie Knight became guitarist of The Litter for a while but he returned to Jokers Wild. Jokers Wild was a powerful band - Huge amp stacks guaranteeing a "wall-of-sound" on stage, double bass drum and cool outfits. They must have been great on stage. Damin Eih, A.L.K. and Brother Clark wrote: "In '67 I saw two local bands that again amped up the juice, The Litter and Jokers Wild. Both bands played original music and had excellent psychedelic-raved guitar players, Zippy Caplan (Litter) and Lonnie Knight. That brought everything to a new level." Heavy underground rock with great composed songs, fuzz guitars, speedy drums and tight bass lines. If you think The Litter is great, you should listen to Jokers Wild. 180 gram vinyl. Comes in a heavy sleeve with a two-page insert. Edition of 500 (numbered).

PRIX - Historic (mid 70s powerpop masterpiece)Label:HOZAC LP version. " 'Every time I close my eyes I fear this is just a sick dream, that there could really be such an incredible mid 70s power pop masterpiece like the Prix Historix album, and that it's really found its home on HoZac Archival, but yes it's really happening. What very well might be the most overlooked and unusually obscure offshoot of the Big Star family tree, Prix started off after Tommy Hoehn and Jon Tiven had done time in the last version of Big Star, with Hoehn contributing to the final Sister Lovers/3rd LP, and Tiven filling out the last live version of the band on their 1974 tour. The pair found themselves in 1975 looking for a new project as Tommy had sent in demos to Tiven, as well as having been called up to perform backup work on Tiven's production with Chilton's 1975 Bach's Bottom LP. Hoehn would sing backup on the Chilton songs on the Chilton recordings and vice-versa on the Prix recordings as they cross-pollinated a batch of songs that are best represented here on Historix than anywhere else. Chris Bell was roped in for production as well as guitar & backup vocals and with Rick Clark added in on bass, they headed into the legendary Ardent Studios in Memphis to cut the recordings contained on this LP. Soon enough, this studio group made up an incredible collection of songs that would fluidly fade across projects, from all parties involved, very quickly in this especially creative mid 70s period, resulting in some of the most powerful rock'n roll of the 1970s, and that's really saying something. 'Sadly, Prix suffered the same bad luck as Big Star a few years prior, and only mustered two 7 inches releases in 1977 (ORK Records) and 1978 (Miracle Records) before wit's end was reached, and the rest of the truly jaw-dropping cuts on this album were hidden away on a CD-Only Japanese release in 2002 that didn't get much exposure outside of the Far East, until now. Thanks to the ORK Records Boxed set released by Numero Group last month, the world has been a bit more exposed to the previously released Prix songs, and if you like what you've heard so far, the other 3/4ths of the material contained here is going to really clean your clock. Included as well are three alternate version bonus tracks not included on the original CD release, and most of these tracks making their first appearance on vinyl here makes this LP a mandatory brick in your Memphis pop collection, and another essential piece in the Big Star family tree that's been unavailable for far too long.' -- VictimofTime.com" LP $18 SKU:17933
