Limited edition of 300 copies on coloured vinyl in heavy duty 1960's USA style tip-on sleeve.
Chicago's Plastic Crimewave Syndicate is led by Plastic Crimewave aka Steve Krakow on guitar and vocals, creator of the beloved psychedelic magazine Galactic Zoo Dossier (published by Drag City) and former head of Plastic Crimewave Sound, who toured with Comets on Fire, Acid Mothers Temple, and Oneida, and released several LPs which were acclaimed in the Wire magazine, Mojo, and even by head-druid Julian Cope.
The new Syndicate configuration is filled out by bassist Anjru Kettering, formerly of windy city acid-rawk gods the Great Society Mind Destroyers; Dawn Aquarius on synth, who was part of Herbcraft and Cursillistas, Brainshadows and Oracle Offering; and Jose Bernal, who has pounded the skins for Bionic Cavemen and Dead Feathers as well. PCWSyndicate has opened for Loop, Hawkwind, Keiji Haino, and backed Djin Aquarian of Ya Ho Wa 13, plus played gigs with younger psych acts like Woods, Purling Hiss and Quilt---and toured the USA.
"Far heavier than the classic psych bands ever got on vinyl, their sound is dense, authentic and unforgettable. My ears will hum for weeks." John Barrett, Western Herald
"A lo-fi maelstrom of distortion, thundering grooves and unintelligible vocals, alternately howling and menacing along in a reverb and delay-soaked freak out." Tim Ferguson, The Active Listener
"Plastic Crimewave-He's a guy, he's a band, he's a multi-coloured forward-thinking arthole of Tardis Dementions. He's a Futuretro freak, he's a sibilant gas, he's a rockn roll-a-holic" Julian Cope, Head heritage
"Now's the time to drink deeply from the grail of psych, for its bearers Plastic Crimewave Syndicate are among us once more. From the splatter vinyl to the extra-heavy cardboard sleeve, Crimewave leader Steve Krakow knows how to recast the spell of psych's golden hour. Such obsessive detail is behind his Galactic Zoo Dossler magazine and in every fuzz-fierce and echo-soaked riff on this new self-titled LP... These six heavy and transcendental compositions channel inspiration in a way akin to Loop, Terminal Cheesecake or even Skullflower on atrack like "Void 0f Eternity". lt's a double pleasure of the old and new. Now, are you ready to dream the dream - or ride the nightmare?" the Wire
