NEW ARRIVALS

HUNNS/ DIE HUNNS - Animals b/w Wild ( punk ) Label:DISASTER Records (color vinyl). The HUNNS sound is raw, chainsaw, based on a classic formula : two Les Pauls, drums and bass. Duane, of course, sounds like Duane, but that's the main similarity with the U.S. Bombs : the HUNNS delivery is much more street American rock'n'roll. Now with the addition of ex-NASHVILLE PUSSY COREY PARKS on bass, The HUNNS have become one of the best punk band playing anywhere in the world today. 45 RPM $10 SKU:4832

CAPTAIN SENSIBLE -Smash It Up - CLEAR YELLOW VINYL Label:NDN "All tracks appearing on this EP were sourced from CAPTAIN SENSIBLE'S original reel-to-reel demo tapes. (from the back cover)45 RPM $3 SKU:18066

DRIPPING LIPS ( Damned /FLAMIN GROOVIES/ NICK CAVE- Such a Lot of Stars plus 3 pic slv- Label:NDN James' latest project, The Dripping Lips, features Scottish-born/Belgium-living Robbie Kelman on vocals, Nico Mansy (ex-Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds) on bass, and Paul Zahl (ex-Flamin' Groovies) on drums. The EP's first cut and title track, "Such A Lot Of Stars", is a beautiful and atmospheric, yet catchy song. Though "Such A Lot Of Stars", melodic as hell, still carries the signature Brian James edge, it's a bit of an unchartered territory for Brian, who gets to turn his guitar up louder on the B-side's first track, "Powerful", with its power chord grabbing you firmly by the throat from the very first rotation. 45 RPM $3 SKU:15813

VINCENT, SONNY- Resistor PLUS 2- PIC SLV GOLD VINYL . Label:NDN Three new songs by this grizzled veteran. Sonny's three piece lineup kicks out the vintage punk jams here. Sizzlin' guitar and a raw sound with more than a hint of Detroit, adding a dose of speed for "Resistor" and "Bringing The Psycho Back Home". Sonny plays a mean guitar too." (Suburban Voice #44, 2004) 45 RPM $4 SKU:15814

BARRACUDAS- What You Want Is What You Get (garage punk ) Label:NDN “What You Want Is What You Get” – Three minutes or more of squalling, screaming and kicking garage punk genius, flipped by “Somebody ‘05”, The Barracudas reinvention of their timeless “Drop Out With The Barracudas” classic, only this time, some 25 years later, the band is tighter, the playing is harder, and the attitude is more in your face.45 RPM $3 SKU:12452

BARRACUDAS - What you Want is What you Get pic slv.- Label:NDN the band is tighter, the playing is harder, and the attitude is more in your face THESE ARE THE LAST COPIES!!! 45 RPM $5 SKU:2185

SEMI TRUTH - You Call (Barracudas related ) pic slv. -Label:NDN Semi-Truth came to life when Jeremy Gluck, singer used 2 b of fabulous legendary legendary surf punkz The Barracudas (they had their folk rock phase but Gluck got over it and smashed the band), asked his friend Richard Angel from the band Alcohol (incl. latter day Saints' Michael Baylis) to give some new tunes a good kicking in the teeth. With its own triple fresh sound, marred and married with a collision driven between the Pixies and Atari Teenage Riot, this Semi-Truth single is the first new recording by ex-Barracuda heart and mind, Jeremy Gluck, in some 10 years. Gluck, whose Barracudas are now recognized as the thyroid Flamin' Groovies of their (inter-)generation, is doing Semi-Truth fueled by healthy doses of boredom and repellence 45 RPM $2 SKU:12454

BARRACUDAS - ST -( ltd ed OF 100 color vinyl) -Label:NDN As a cursory look at radio playlists and cult whisperings will attest, The Barracudas reappearance after so long could not be better timed. Garage music is in fashion (again) and so is surf (well, Brian Wilson, and let's face it they might as well be synonymous). Power pop, likewise, from a 45 grave, has risen to reassert its importance. Indeed, all the styles the band have mastered and made their own are now current and selling. And another thing: The Barracudas sounds younger than yesterday but with experience supplying an edge that cuts across time to the heart of the band. LP $10 SKU:4392

CARPETTES- ST - Color Vinyl SALE -Label:NDN The Carpettes are back with “The Carpettes”, their brand new and first States-side released album.“This is one of those rare cases where a band gets back together and is as good, if not even better than before” (Alan Wright, Cosmik Debris).Having started in the now magical year of 1977, The Carpettes all but invented pop-punk, debuting on the Small Wonder Records label with the classic ’77 7” “How About Me And You”. After a couple of albums on Beggars Banquet, the group eventually split up in 1981. LP $5 SKU:12458

LOOSE - Untamed - 4 songs (Italian punk) Label:ROCKIN HOUSE Italian swagger punks that sound like they like to fight. "Untamed!" is a fitting title, what with the gang-land vox and the psychoactive guitars, and Loose play some seriously muscular sleazepunk here. Of the four tracks, I'm gonna finger "Cool as Fuck" as the highlight, both for it's winning subject matter and it's punchy chorus, but any of 'em ought to get your motor running. 45 RPM $3 SKU:7781

LUBRICANTS - ACTIVATED ENERGY ltd to 500 - Label:RERUN BW / TRANSFORMATION VACATION - Milwaukee punk band The Lubricants originally cut this caustic 45 in 1980. MADE IN JAPAN-Instant Hit (Plimsouls style power pop)Label:HOZAC Taking cues from UK power pop band such as Buzzcocks & Nick Lowe, as well as LA locals Paul Collins Beat & the Plimsouls, Made in Japan carved out a little spot of their own, despite fleeting stardom, and luckily managed to record an armload of original songs before disbanding, to which we've got two immediate classics for you on this archival 7 inch, so dig in and even if you 'don't want no sensitive shit' you need these 'Instant Hits' right between your ears, never before released in any form, first time on vinyl, where they belong.' - VictimofTime.com" 45 RPM $10 SKU:17928

MANKEY, EARL- - Mau Mau /Crazy. orig 1978 pressing! w picslv.Label:BOMP/Exhibit J (Orig pressing of BOMP spinoff label, Exhibit J) rare by legendary producer “ In this one short song, there is enough pure-pop majesty to fill your week's quota of such grand music. Earle Mankey was a founding member of the odd new-wave 80's band, Sparks. Mankey has some serious production credits to his name too, including Concrete Blonde's first album.
"Mau Mau" begins with a jungle drum beat and a chorus of low voiced fellows singing "Ugachukka, ugachukka" over and over again. The song makes an abrupt left turn when Mankey begins singing about an African "...who can take his love any way he can, by the point of spear, by the point of knife" in his distant pop voice over a tinkley synth sound. Mankey builds layer upon layer in the chorus, with guitars ultimately building to a "Baba O'Rielly" guitar riff. You don't find sublime pop-rock like this everyday, but when you do, it's quite a treat. -- Doug Cornell, 45 RPM $5 SKU:4824

MARTIN, RONNIE - BABY YOU'RE MINE/STORM OF LOVE ( Texas 60s garage )- Label:BILLIE FRAN Killer Texas rockin' club hit. Who are these guys? Dunno, who's Ronnie Martin? God knows. Where are they from? MASTER'S APPRENTICES - UNDECIDED/ WAR OR HANDS OF TIME 60s freakbeat ) -Label:UGLY POP Australia's legendary Masters Apprentices debuted with this superb 45rpm 7-inch in November 1966, hitting hard with raucous, early-Kinks-inspired punk R&B but truly achieving godhead with the flipside. T MODEL FORD- The Ladies Man - Label:ALIVE T-Model's 80-something years old... his Mississippi Driver's License says he's 84, his US Passport says he's 87, and he says he's 88... so you decide. He started playing guitar based on Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf, but T's only got one style: his own. T's illiterate, so no use in talking to him about tuning. They call it "open T" because it's his own unique sound. "The Ladies Man" is T-Model Ford's seventh album, and what makes it unique is that it's entirely acoustic. Recorded at Planet Sound Studios in Wichita, Kansas, the album is the product of a live, one-take afternoon session with no overdubs and minimal mixing. T wanted to play acoustic guitar and have 100% control over the record and everyone involved in the project agreed he should do it the way he wanted. The result is pure T Model, with some newer young musician-friends playing along with him. "I'm a ladies man. The ladies follow me everywhere. Some folks don't like white folks. I like the white folks, they helped make me famous and I've made money. The white folks appreciate the blues, they appreciate T-Model. I love white folks." - T-Model Ford CD $10 SKU:11093

VOX DEI- Cuero Caliente! ( 70s Argentine power trio ) - Label:DISC JOCKEY (Argentina) "the power-trio Vox Dei is often regarded as one of the most important Argentinean bands; in 1973.

Just after the release of their masterpiece album "La Biblia," the band re-recorded for the Disk Jockey label most of the songs from their debut album (which had originally been recorded for the now-bankrupt Mandioca label); the LP included rock numbers such as 'Reflejos' and 'Compulsión,' as well as great ballads like 'Canción para una mujer (que no está),' which had been released as a single; this classic of Argentinean rock is now available in an edition that includes both sides of their single from 1971 as bonus tracks. CD $14 SKU:5872

WELT - Ashes to Ashes (UK punk Social Dist. style ) SALE - Label:CIDER CITY RECORDS Jason Welt sounds remarkably like he wants to be in Social Distortion, and ‘Ashes to Ashes’ is half way to being a homage to Mike Ness. It’s got a certain charm to it though, street up punk rock to appeak to fans of SD, or maybe the Hellacopters and that kind of stuff. And, let’s be honest, there is NOTHING wrong with a good bit Social Distortion style punk rock if its done well – which this is. CD $3 SKU:7705

WHITE LIGHT - Parable (scarce high-powered bluesy garage/psych ‘74)-Label:SOMMER Super scarce high-powered bluesy garage/psych hard-rock beast, packed to the gills with cheesy organ, jubilant fuzz guitar, and frenzied drumming”. – Ken Scott (The Archivist
First ever reissue of this ultra-obscure private pressing (as featured in the last Hans Pokora’s “7001 Record Collector Dreams” book with the maximum scale rarity). Done under license from the band members. Insert with liner notes and photos.
Formed in Glasgow in the early 70s, White Light were not an ordinary Xian rock band: influenced by the explosive sound of The Who, the hard blues of John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers and even Black Sabbath, their live performances across the country featured heavy rock sounds, feedback howling round, phased lighting effects and commitment to the real enjoyment of Rock Music. They weren’t formed to play in churches – but to take The Message to the rock generation in loud clubs, halls and big rock venues. In 1972, they were finalists in a national rock competition organized by Melody Maker magazine. This event encouraged the band to enter the studio for the recording of their first album. “Parable” was released as a private pressing in 1974. Housed in a mysterious looking cover, the music is Xian hard psych straight from the garage with lot of raw fuzz guitar and Vox Continental organ.Combining hard-rock with heavy blues and dreamy moments, it features the monster sidelong track “Prodigal”, which has to be heard to be believed. CD $17 SKU:17327

KILLED BY DEATH- Vol. 1 White VINYL 150 gram - Label:REDRUM The first volume of Killed by Death appeared around 1988, the brainchild of (according to legend) a New York-based Swedish record collector who gathered up 15 of his all-time favorite new wave-ish rarities and unleashed them on what was then very much a fledgling punk collectors' market.

Concentrating almost wholly on '80s Americana, but with the odd early import to shake things up, the end result is an eclectic but nevertheless exciting package, its contents ranging from the Slugs, featuring former New York Doll Rick Rivets, to suitably macabre odes to L.A.'s Hillside Strangler by both the Hollywood Squares and the Child Molestors; a live Nuns cut, and a brace of anti-social stomps by the Authorities. There's also some neatly gratuitous nastiness from Britain's Users, a 1977-era punk band that sounds positively old fashioned compared to some of the young blades switching around elsewhere.TRACKLISTINGS ON SITE COMP LP $12 SKU:204

BLACK KEYS - Chulahoma - Label:FAT POSSUM Recorded by the band in their own Akron, OH studio THE BLACK KEYS epitomize DIY. Chulahoma is a collection of songs that were originally written by the late Junior Kimbrough. Reworked and recorded, The Keys capture the very essence of Junior’s style better than any other musician today. Roomy and sparse in production the drums/guitar duo fill out every inch of these songs with distorted guitar, drums, and Dan's soulful vocals. LP $17 SKU:12585

BLACK KEYS - Rubber Factory 180 gram -Label:FAT POSSUM 2004 release, the third album from the acclaimed Alt-Rock/Blues duo. Rubber Factory continues the Black Keys' tradition of raw, heavily blues-influenced indie rock. Rubber Factory was recorded in an abandoned coal burning power plant in the Black Keys' hometown of Akron, Ohio, and like Thickfreakness, was recorded and produced by Patrick Carney. BLAIR 1523 (Spacemen 3 related ) -- Beautiful Debris ( Psych/Drone ) -Label:VOXX LAST COPIES (Voxx 060) Brought to us by Sonic Boom of Spacemen 3, this remarkable band from the bucolic shire of Cornwall had a variety of strengths, from strong pop songwriting to a penchant for extended freakout jams, all of which is captured on this, the only record they made before sadly breaking up. To those few fortunate enough to have heard it, it remains an esoteric favorite.. Psychedelic swirl/drone pop Early Floyd/ Elevators sound by his amazing UK band. “This album is worth buying for the cover alone. Dripping with glassy pastels of brilliant greens, pinks, purples, yellows and blues, the art work complements a round of houka hits supremely. The music picks up where Syd Barrett and early Pink Floyd left off in the '60s.” - American Music Press

BOKAJ RETSIEM - Psychedelic Underground (enthusiastic psych-kr*ut trip for fans of Vanilla Fudge, Hendrix, and Iron Butterfly) SAALE -Label:HIMALAYA Credited as one of the best late 60's German psych-rock albums, Bokaj Retsiem's ("meister Jakob" with reversed letters!) "Psychedelic Underground" is an eccentric, soulful, acid and fuzzy rockin' essay that clearly prefigures a part of the Krautrock movement. Featuring Rainer Deigner, former guitar for the sixties beat German group Former Bonds, as the only credited musician and composer on this album (although other musicians assisted him on bass, keyboards, and that B3 Hammond and Leslie sound), this is basically Rainer's freaked-out tribute to his favorite children's song, "Meister Jakob", consisting in trippy instrumental sections, furiously savage e-guitar crescendos, amazing psych-rock improvisation, with just a hint of 60's US psych-garage. A real enthusiastic psych-kraut trip for fans of Vanilla Fudge, Hendrix, and Iron Butterfly.

Remastered in the 24-bit domain from the original master tapes. Brainbox was something special. The band not only featured some of the Netherlands' most preternaturally talented musicians, but in less than three years they produced a recorded legacy that was truly world class. Much of their best work appeared on their 1969-71 singles, which have been compiled on this definitive 2-LP collection, pressed on 180gm vinyl and dynamically re-mastered from the original tapes. The original lineup with lead-guitarist Jan Akkerman, bassist Andr Reijnen, drummer Pierre van der Linden and vocalist extraordinaire Kaz Lux deliver the goods on pile-driving blues rock songs like 'Down Man' and 'Dark Rose,' and the hard-hitting Hendrix-inspired rocker 'Amsterdam, The First Days' -- all presented in their original mono mixes. After Akkermans departure, Brainbox expanded its musical palette with guitarists Rudy de Queljoe (ex-Dragonfly) and John Schuursma (ex-Rob Hoekes R&B Group), recording memorable tracks like 'Between Alpha And Omega,' 'Doomsday Train,' 'Mobilae' and the blisteringly powerful 'Virgin.' Burning Plagues self-titled 1970 debut album provided a flashpoint for Belgium's burgeoning blues rock scene, ramping up the intensity so far at various points that it verged on heavy. It wasn't quite enough to make the band famous, but their ballsy blues rock played through massive 100-watt Marshall stacks has made the original LP a highly-coveted collectors item that now commands princely sums. After many shoddy bootlegs, Pseudonym Records is proud to present the first legitimate reissue, 24-bit remastered from the original tapes with the full cooperation of the band. LP $24 SKU:16785
