RESONARS- Gold To Blue & Little Grey Men Label:HYPNOTIC BRIDGE b/w “Bold Marauder” Immersed in the rural pop-psych glory of Younger Than Yesterday-era Byrds, the irrepressible “Gold To Blue” proves the time between 1967 and 2021 is but the blink of a blissed-out eye. With a soaring power pop intensity that belies its dark, eponymous topic, “Little Grey Men” chronicles an era in which we are constantly observed and analyzed—an anthem for our time that challenges the corrupt cabal who cling to power, envying and fearing the smartness and vitality of the young. An epic enigma of arcane imagery since it was first released in 1965, Richard Fariña’s timeless folk-rock classic, “Bold Marauder” has been covered by musicians as diverse as John Kay and Kendra Smith. The Resonars bring an unparalleled potency to the song, amplifying the feverish fervor of the lyrics with a psychedelic, guitar-driven assault that conjures up Blue Cheer launching an acid-folk crusade.Singles are pressed on 7-inch, 45 rpm vinyl records. 45 RPM $10 SKU:24729

COMMUNICANT- She Moves the Day(psych) Label:HYPNOTIC BRIDGE A love song at heart, “She Moves The Sky” exalts a love so powerful it shifts the universe itself, controlling everything from the wind to the gravitational pull of the tide and even time and the sky itself. Musically inspired by the crunchy, Revolver-esque ‘60s UK psych that melts your head with melody, the song draws inspiration from July, The Factory, Tomorrow and, naturally, The Beatles. Band leader Dylan Gardner plays all instruments on the song, with a vocal sung through a telephone mic built by his brother, Mark, which lends a Lesley-style effect reminiscent of those on the legendary July album. A Rickenbacker bass provides a quintessential driving thud, while the drums were inspired by Ringo’s on “Rain”. After writing the guitar parts, Dylan learned them backwards on his Gibson SG, then reversed the recordings to achieve the desired psychedelic “volume swell.” 45 RPM $10 SKU:24070

LAISSEZ FAIRS -10,000 Tomorrows- IYL Roger McGuinn. Fairport Convention. Lord Dunsany. The Who. Label:HYPNOTIC BRIDGE b/w “From Field To Field Dreams and rivers. Oceans and prisons. Inner battles. Outer cages. The bards of old. The '60s loom large... be they the 1660s or the 1960s... from O'Carolan to Keith Richards and a thousand books and whistles in between. The influences are smashed together violently... and tenderly. William Blake. Roger McGuinn. Fairport Convention. Lord Dunsany. The Who.The instrumentation on both “10,000 Tomorrows” and “From Field To Field” is actually more than that produced by physical instruments. It is often the way they are recorded: the placement of mics (or the deliberate lack of mics), the use of effects on a guitar passage for impact and its removal as its sound goes elsewhere. Sometimes the vocals become a vibrato that sound like what you could hear at the feasts of the ancient Irish High Kings. The sounds are acoustic and electric, mechanical and spiritual. 45 RPM $10 SKU:23756

REVERBERATIONS -Milder High (Beatles style pop psych) Label:HYPNOTIC BRIDGE Inspired by a fictional psychedelic experience (with all the exciting highs and mellow lows), “Milder Higher” marks a new, more complex direction in The Reverberations’ sound. With interesting time changes, Leslie vocals and a reversed lead fuzz guitar, the song brings to mind bands such as The Beatles and The Peanut Butter Conspiracy.Like the A-side, “Sunshine” was recorded in early 2019 by the legendary Matt Rendon at Midtown Island Studios in Tucson and recorded to 8-track tape for a classic approach and feeling, with backing vocals done as three-part harmonies around a single microphone. The recent addition of keyboards to The Reverberations’ lineup brings an essential psychedelic element to the song, and the band. 45 RPM $10 SKU:21780

SEEDS -VAMPIRE/ BUTTERFLY CHILD (60s garage psych) Label:HYPNOTIC BRIDGE The Seeds remain amongst the most beloved and iconographic of the original 1960s garage-psych avatars. To many, their edgy dissonant sounds and relentless fuzz-fuelled drive, tinged with flights of psychedelic fancy, makes The Seeds the quintessential exponent of the genre, as heard on such classics-for-the-ages as “Pushin’ Too Hard,” “Can’t Seem To Make You Mine” and “Mr Farmer.” Their eponymous 1966 debut album has long been recognized as a minimalist rock ’n’ roll masterpiece, while its sequels, the pop-art A Web Of Sound and florid Future, have also grown more influential as time goes on. For decades, the name The Seeds was most closely identified with the activities of their eccentric vocalist, the late Sky Saxon, but the first, path-finding line-up was always a collaboration, the musical director of which was, without a doubt, keyboard whiz Daryl Hooper. Now, in the 2020s, as the only surviving original Seed, Daryl has reclaimed his birthright with a new and powerful set of Seeds personnel: band historian Alec Palao on bass, singer/frontman extraordinaire Paul Kopf, and Sky Saxon alumni Mark Bellgraph on guitar and Justin Smith on drums. 45 RPM $10 SKU:24292

TRIPTIDES-Nirvana Now (sun-drenched psych)-\Label:HYPNOTIC BRIDGE “Nirvana Now” b/w “She Is Dressed In Red” An ecstatic reflection on a dream shared by “all who were there”, the paean to enlightenment encapsulated by “Nirvana Now” takes Triptides’ sun-drenched psychedelia to new glorious new heights. Awash in aural delights emanating from a Wurlitzer electric piano along with Epiphone Casino and fuzz guitars, the song has all a seeker of psyched-out bliss could ask for. Shimmering with dronalicious sitar, Farfisa organ, 12-string guitar and Beatle bass, “She Is Dressed In Red” is the perfect marigold comedown after spinning the A-side at maximum volume. 45 RPM $10 SKU:21476

MOBBS -GARAGE PUNK FOR BOYS (British garage punk) SAALE!Label:CRAVAT 'Garage Punk For Boys' has taken its impetus from the title track itself. 'Garage Punk For Boys' lifts its hat to a Wilko Johnson infused Billy Childish explosion, with a rocket full of ideas inspired by contemporary cult English bands such as The Masonics, and a massive dose of live energy derived from the likes of King Salami & The Cumberland 3! GIRLS GO POWER POP -80s and 90s powerpop!Label:BIG BEAT Come On Let’s Go!”, our survey of power pop gems from the 70s and 80s, was one of Ace’s best sellers of 2019, with critics lavishing four and five star reviews upon the compilation. However, we grew to rue the lack of the female voice on the CD, with the Shivvers being the sole representative. With that in mind, we now unveil “Girls Go Power Pop!”, an entire collection of feminine decks from the 80s and 90s, all delivered with the kind of sassy pizazz you would expect from acts such as the Go-Go’s and the Bangles. We predict that “Girls Go Power Pop!” is destined to be loved by fans of power pop and cherished by aficionados of girl-pop. HE PUT THE BOMP- - PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED psych/garage tracks by RADIO MOSCOW,/BLACK KEYS /NIKKI CORVETTE/BARRACUDAS -Label:BOMP his is not a tribute album per se, but more of a remembrance of Greg Shaw and his unique perspective. We asked the bands to go into the studio and cut the cover song they felt was most in tune with the idea of the label and the result is a nice brew of garage punk, power pop and psychedelia that we think captures the spirit and sound of Bomp records.

The Plimsouls and Lyres covered the Easybeats and the Outsiders respectively, the Black Keys surprised us with their rendering of the Cramps "I Can't Find My Mind", while the Dwarves and the Briefs sent their versions of punk classics by the Weirdos and the Zeros.

We also got some nice surprises with the teaming up of Captain Sensible (The Damned) and the late Nikki Sudden for an acoustic cover of Iggy's "Kill City", Chris Wilson of the Flamin' Groovies joined the Barracudas to capture Rocky Erickson's "Two Headed Dog," and a Cleveland super group of sorts tabbed The Dukes Of Earls was formed with ex-members of the Dead Boys and the Stiv Bators' band.

Also included is an amazing rendition of Rockin' Horse's classic "Don't You Ever Think I Cry" by Buffalo Killers (currently on tour with the Black Crowes), a cover of Spacemen 3 by The Warlocks, and much more. The Last even dug up for the occasion their previously unreleased rendering of Jonathan Richman's "Pablo Picasso" recorded back in 1977. There's a lot of cool music on this comp which we hope fans and collectors will enjoy. COMP CD $10 SKU:19890

These recordings date from 1972-1976 and were made at studios in Cologne and surroundings. The material was produced by Toby Robinson, mainly to have fun at the studio. Bands would come in for practice sessions, to record demos, and during slack periods impromptu jams would happen. Most of these sessions were recorded by Toby, and they feature Toby himself plus a revolving cast of friends and musicians (some of them apparently big Kraut names using made up monikers). SHARPIES-14 AGGRO AUSSIE ANTHEMS FROM 1972-1979'Label:SHARPS ROCK Sharpies were the terror teen cast of a Richard Allen novel that never was. Although largely synonymous with the early-to-mid 1970s, reports of their violent clashes with rival gangs of Mods are documented as early as 1966. Bored, working-class, suburban kids, their teenage rampage began in Melbourne, Australia, but soon there were Sharpie gangs forming in Sydney, Perth and beyond. For a while they were the untouchables, ruling dances, discos and public transport with their fists. Sharpies were fiercely territorial and divided into different chapters according to location. They would often wage aggressive wars within their tightly delineated sub-gangs, although Mods always remained their arch-enemy. Sharpie boys and girls wore similar uniforms: a slim-fitting, ribbed and collared cardigan called a Conny, T-shirts, tight jeans (Lee or Levis) and big platform shoes. Hair was worn short or shaved with long wisps at the back, influenced by the British ska, mod and skinhead subcultures. Sharpie girls had their hair slightly longer and often with coloured streaks - Bowie-red was their colour of choice. Boys often bleached their hair. Tattoos were popular, although many were homemade and poorly executed. Their diet was anthemic glam-rock, kung-fu movies and A Clockwork Orange. As the 1970s drew to a close, and new styles like punk and disco began to emerge, Sharpies started to fade. By 1979 they were all-but gone. Today they are recognised as an important part of Australian youth culture and social history. This compilation features rare tracks and 'cult' anthems that were the soundtrack to the rise of this Australian answer to the skinhead subculture: with the likes of the Hush, Fat Daddy, Supernaut, Skyhooks, John Paul Young... it can't be missing in any 'Killed By Death' type collection! AMON DÜÜL - PARADIESWARTZ DUUL-legendary 1971 Krautrock Label:WAH WAH Recorded in 1971, Amon Düül’s only album for Ohr was a visonary slice of acid-folk which has gained cult status as years passed by. Ritualistic folk-rock, pastoral hippie songs, stoned jams, eastern flavours, mystical passages and heavy hypnotic riffing which are in fact very different from the early Amon Düül epic freaked-out improvisations (Psychedelic Underground) or Amon Düül II complex and psyched-up progressive works (Phallus Dei). LP $28 SKU:24144

Compared to the band's previous EP, this album sounds slightly more retro. Influences include The MC5, The Pink Fairies, Motörhead, Zeke and Thin Lizzy's rowdy and rough rock'n'roll. The whole thing is dressed up with the sharp riffs and the fast rhythms of early '80s thrash metal and hc punk LP $19 SKU:23485

BLACK KEYS - Chulahoma - Label:FAT POSSUM Recorded by the band in their own Akron, OH studio THE BLACK KEYS epitomize DIY. Chulahoma is a collection of songs that were originally written by the late Junior Kimbrough. Reworked and recorded, The Keys capture the very essence of Junior’s style better than any other musician today. To those few fortunate enough to have heard it, it remains an esoteric favorite.. Dripping with glassy pastels of brilliant greens, pinks, purples, yellows and blues, the art work complements a round of houka hits supremely. The music picks up where Syd Barrett and early Pink Floyd left off in the '60s.” - American Music Press

BLISS-ST (Excellent 1969 PSYCH HARD ROCK )- Label:OUT SIDER Psychedelic hard-rock / heavy blues with loud fuzz-wah guitar and powerful drumming by this power-trio from Arizona, originally released in 1969.

Bliss was born from the ashes of garage band The Sect. Legendary radio DJ and producer Hadley “Who Loves You Madley” (the first black disc jockey from Arizona) took them under his wing and produced some recordings. By the end of 1968, the five members of The Sect graduated and decided to break up.

Soon, they reformed as a trio with Martin (bass), Reed (guitar) and Aldred (drums). Reed came up with a new name, BLISS, which not only reflected his spiritual interest but it was also more in vein with the new psychedelic sounds of artists like Cream, Blue Cheer or Hendrix.

Under Murrell’s guidance, the trio recorded a full album, released on L.A.-based Canyon Records in 1969. Canyon, home to artists like Doris Duke or Swamp Dogg, was a label more focused on R&B, soul and funk than psychedelia so, not surprisingly, the album slipped through the cracks.

It wasn’t until a couple of decades later that Bliss was re-discovered by psych collectors, who were attracted to the album’s heavy & bluesy psychedelic sound, highlighted by Reed's hard fuzz-wah guitarand Aldred's powerful drumming. The album offers a mix of great self-penned tracks (including two by Murrell) such as “Visions”, “Ride The Ship Of Fools” and “Cry Of Love” – which bears a striking resemblance to The Zombies “Time Of The Season”! – plus a few covers (Joe Tex, B.B. King, Johnny Guitar Watson…)

*Newly remastered sound.

*Heavy cardboard sleeve and insert with liner notes.

“This is simply a great LP!” – Acid Archives

BONGZILLA- WEEDSCONSIN - stoner psych (SPLATTER)Label:HEAVY PSYCH SOUNDS On the fringe of chaos, in the Year of the Pandemic, the Cannabeast has awoken!! Bongzilla is back with a full length album, 16 years since their last record. These "Pioneers of Weed Metal" would like to present 'Weedsconsin' to the universe. An album written by the three long standing original members of Bongzilla - Muleboy (bass, vocals), Spanky (guitar), and Magma (drums). Recorded and mixed by the late John Hopkins at Future Apple Tree Studios in Rock Island, Illinois in October 2020. These six tracks will blow your mind! In a single instant you are contaminated by the classic weed-infected sounds the band is known for, while also finding new elements mixed into the bowl. In the unique piece that is 'Weedsconsin', Bongzilla delivers heavy doses of crushing stoner doom and psychedelic space rock that sets it apart from earlier material. (That's why HPS Records is the perfect label to release this stuff). This record travels down a path of heavy riffs, mind-expanding jams, sonic tones, and stomping beats in the band's first release as a thunderous three piece, with Muleboy moving from guitar to bass. Approaching these songs as a three piece has created more space musically and allowed the band to showcase their musicianship in a different way. It results in a sound that is very heavy, along the lines of 'Gateway' tone-wise, but sonically more clear. The album is mastered by Carl Saff at Saff Mastering in Chicago, Illinois, and Eli Quinn (Madison, Wisconsin) is the artist behind the astounding cover art. 'Weedsconsin' is dedicated to the memory of John Hopkins. Comes on transparent green and red splatter vinyl. LP $35 SKU:24513

Master tape sound and insert with liner notes by Sid Bradley and Paul Osborne (Shindig!). LP $24 SKU:24577

CONJERTI, MORREALE & DIBLEY"-Earth Free (1970’s IYL Neil Young,CSNY-Label:VOID An album that has the unfinished feel of a demo record (which is good), a bit like Merrell Fankhauser's “Fapardokly” LP from 5 years earlier—except the main influence here is early Neil Young. The main appeal to present-day listeners will be the minor key acoustic guitar strumming that makes it a folk record, and the minimal but effective lead guitar that fleshes out the songs and gives them an unusual edge. The lyrics wont appeal to modern-day cynics, but the youthful, melancholic delivery gives them a depth beyond the misleading, easy-listening label assigned to this reissue. The title track is a simple but effective paean to natural beauty that closes the record in a satisfying manner. Comparable records in terms of feel would include the likes of Fenner, Leland & O'Brien, Dave Lamb & Gye Whiz, Songs of David Lewis, etc - if any of those appeal, then this record will also. Lysergia review: “Recently discovered Christian hippie 1970s folk/rock LP with a nice, loose vibe. Sound is typical for the style, rooted in a melodic CSNY sensibility, recalling Stills' melancholic moves in particular. I also catch an Eastcoasty "Big Pink" vibe here and there. Opening track is deceptively soft and poppy, after which the LP gradually increases its depth, ending up with some truly great numbers that rate alongside the best of the genre. Vocals are not remarkable but fit the overall reflective mood well, while the band plays loose (sometimes very loose) and laidback, with a bass unusually high in the mix for added groove. Comparisons made to Kansas City Jammers are useful, if you imagine this LP as the dark mirror image of the upbeat KCJ.” LP $18 SKU:23988

DANGEREENS -TOUGH LUCK (70s glam rock style ala Dolls and Bowie) SAALE!Label: ALIEN SNATCH! Dangereens are Canada's hot new unadulterated rock'n'roll outfit. DEL-TOROS -TEN STORIES HIGH (Dutch alternative surf rockers) SAALE!Label:DOWN AT THE NIGHTCLUB On 'Ten Stories High', Dutch alternative surf rockers Del-Toros once again unleash an exciting mixture of desert-, surf-, punk- and hardrock. But they changed the game big time as their instrumental side has completely taken over. The Del-Toros drift off into strange tangets and wave their freak flag into a fuzzy and reverb sheer sonic perfection. There is only one song on the album with vocals. Peter te Bos, singer of the famous Dutch garagerock band Claw Boys Claw is taking 'Rockettool' to a higher level like if Jim Morrison and William S. Burroughs joined forces. Bertus Borgers features on '2174'. Produced by Peter van Elderen and Guido Bruin, 'Ten Stories High' features 10 blistering and heavy songs that combine all their influences. The album comes in a gatefold cover, limited to 500 copies. LP $22 SKU:23259

VIRUS -Revelation- PIC DISC 1970 KRAUTROCK/psych-Label:GARDEN OF DELIGHTS Virus' debut is one of those albums that perfectly defines the Krautrock genre as we know it today: a mix of psychedelic, hard rock, and a secret ingredient, to be whispered about in the dark halls of the murky and mysterious underground. Sure, the title track includes a take on The Rolling Stones' 'Paint it Black' among it's twelve minutes, but why not? that song was crucial to the European psychedelic underground with its Eastern jam cycle motif. If you're looking for loud acid guitar, flute, and jamming organ with tribal drumming, and stoned vocals, you have come to the right place. That might be why people liken this album to early Pink Floyd. It gets freakier as it goes; by the time you get to 'Nur noch Zwei Lichtjahre' with its foreboding German narration, you know you have found ground zero for the entire Zeitgeist. This isn't the cosmiche Krautrock of Ash Ra Tempel or Sergius Golowin, Cosmic Jokers, etc. But if you're looking for the hard rock portion of the Krautrock cathedral, you found it here." Includes two tracks from a 1970 single as bonus tracks LP $19 SKU:20929
