ST. ALBERT'S DREAM- PREORDER! Vol. 2: Lucid Electric Prophet- with BOOKLET Label:LYSERGIC SOUND SHIPPING DECEMBER 12TH. •A follow up to the highly rated “St. Albert’s Dream” compilation from 2013. •Booklet with bios and rare pictures of the bands. •Limited vinyl pressing of 600 copies. Praise for the long out-of-print first volume of St. Albert’s Dream: "Mandatory compilation containing no fillers and fiercely representative of my beloved heavy psychedelic genre. Crude, raw and uncompromising, what else?” — GAZHOO117, rateyourmusic; "This is a fantastic compilation of obscure 45's, and unreleased archival material. No duff tracks, everything in the pocket as it were. This to me anyway, is the perfect type of compilation. All non album tracks, superb music, and all very hard to find.” — ashratom, unencumberedmusicreviews.blogspot.comHeavy “dosed” psychedelia where The Prophet takes you to the depths of the unknown Acid Land. Twelve tracks from some of the deepest underground acts in North America, from the years 1968-1972. Plenty of raw fuzz, swirling effects, deep lyrics, heavy beats, and cool hooks from these mostly unknown heroes of this long past era of musical creativity. Sourced from micro-pressed 45’s and unreleased master tapes, these songs have never been compiled on vinyl before. Hear wizardry from such acts as Osceola, Hindenburg Lyon, Ark, Merriday Park and others. The very detailed fantasy cover art evidently shows "The Prophet as he enters the mythical Valley Of The Stone Giants.” And why not? Created for and by lovers of the mega-heavy and the ultra obscure. ACTION -PREORDER Rolled GOld (legendary 60s psych)Label:GUERRSEN SHIPPING DECEMBER 12TH. The Action never became stars, but Rolled Gold justifies the legend.” - David Fricke (Rolling Stone Magazine) •Digitally remastered from the master tapes. •Insert with photos and detailed liner notes by Jason Barnard (Shindig!). •“It's as if Paul Weller time-travelled back to 1967 and wrote the best songs of his career. Every track is a fully realized melodic and lyrical statement.” – Matt Collar (allmusic.com)The legendary 1967-68 recordings by UK mod band THE ACTION, registered when they were in transition from mod-beat to full-blown psychedelia, just prior to becoming MIGHTY BABY. Originally recorded as a set of demos with the intention of obtaining an album deal which inexplicably never materialized, “Rolled Gold” is a collection of brilliant songs, melancholic yet powerful. The Action’s classic line-up of Reg King, Alan ‘Bam’ King, Michael Evans and Roger Powell is augmented with the inclusion of new members Martin Stone on guitar and Ian Whiteman on flute / organ. All of them are playing their hearts out: superb harmonies, great guitar work and clever arrangements which show the influence of bands like The Byrds and the psychedelic sounds that were coming from the West Coast and UK as well as jazz giants like Coltrane. Always the stuff of legend, The “Rolled Gold” tapes were shelved at the time, not released until 1997 when the Dig The Fuzz label discovered them and did a limited LP/CD run. Out of print on vinyl for many years, we present a new vinyl edition. If you dig the psychedelic era of SMALL FACES, PRETTY THINGS, THE WHO, plus THE CREATION, NAZZ, TOMORROW, BLOSSOM TOES, THE END or TRAFFIC…look no further.

IF YOU HAVE OTHER ITEMS IN YOUR ORDER THEY WILL SHIP WHEN THIS ARRIVES, SO ORDER BY ITSELF IF YOU WANT THE OTHER STUFF SOONER! Revered by many wise listeners as one of the finest heavy rock albums of the early 1970’s, this was the only effort of Anglo-American blues rock from former Agitation Free/Emergency/Inga Rumpf guitarist and vocalist Frank Diez’s short-lived group. LP $28 SKU:20846

CATCH PRITCHARD - PREORDER Everything I Love Has Fallen From MELabel:Anxiety Blanket Records SHIPPING DECEMBER 12TH "The Oakland band s darkly psychedelic country-folk suggests things on the verge of collapse… appealingly overwrought, its sweetness curdling into menace like Twin Peaks gone spaghetti western..." – Pitchfork Deep, monumental songs. ‘Violent Weather’ has the chilling gravitas of Johnny Cash’s rendition of Nine Inch Nails’ ‘Hurt’, but taken (perhaps) to a more hopeful place. ’Those That Live Dance’ states it’s existential angst — and a potential way out — in literate shimmering verses: 'My window faces the west. And out west there’s the ocean. And in that ocean lies something deep and that something is deep in me. I can feel the pressure. And it's getting hard to see. But something keeps me floating there, so I’ll trust and I’ll believe.” A series of studies in dark blueish-green. "Everything I Love Has Fallen From Me” demonstrates the experimental spirit of Catch Prichard, fusing processed acoustic instruments, tape manipulation, and orchestral sampling to achieve a delicate balance between ambient soundscapes and traditional songwriting. Serving as the arranger, composer, and producer, Sawyer Gebauer presents these tracks as a candid reflection of doubt, inhibition, desire, and hope. Ultimately, these songs echo the vulnerabilities of the self and inspire the strength to grow larger than our limitations. "Everything I Love Has Fallen From Me" serves as an evocative exploration of the human experience and the transient nature of the self, underscoring Gebauer's enduring dedication to pushing creative boundaries. CONSTANT SOUND-ST PREORDER One of the Holy Grails of 1960’s sunshine pop and lyte psych.” — Patrick Lundborg, “The Acid ArchiveLabel:LYSERGIC SOUND SHIPPING DECEMBER 12TH. Superbly constructed pop psychedelia c. 1968, performed by some of the best musicians in the world! •First commercial release of any kind and in any format of these recordings •Comes with an 8-page booklet with photos and detailed information of the creation of this rarityFor more than fifty years, vinyl collectors and music archivists from around the world have speculated about this ultra-obscure twelve-song demo-only disc from the 1960’s: When was it pressed? Who were the musicians and the singers? Who produced this gem? What was the purpose of the record, especially considering the high talent level and the fact that it seemingly had never had a commercial release? No less an expert than the late Patrick Lundborg, one of the world’s leading experts on psychedelic culture and music and author of “The Acid Archives”, the ultimate guide to underground sounds from the 1960’s and 1970’s, called The Constant Sound demo disc "one of the Holy Grails of 1960’s sunshine pop and lyte psych," comparable to the the California sunshine style on the very rare Birmingham Sunday record, and added: "this is bound to blow the mind of any genre fan, as it delivers on all the key areas and has no obvious weaknesses." High praise from the psychedelic guru! LP $24 SKU:24006

IF YOU HAVE OTHER ITEMS IN YOUR ORDER THEY WILL SHIP WHEN THIS ARRIVES, SO ORDER BY ITSELF IF YOU WANT THE OTHER STUFF SOONER! The only album from this English heavy rock trio, released on Kuckuck in 1973—one of the heaviest acts on the label. CWT Guest musician Cy Payne is responsible for the brass arrangements, which gives CWT a very special sound; apart from the fantastic guitar and vocal work of Graham Jones, the brass section gives CWT a Motown Soul touch, a real heavy groove. All in all, it makes "The Hundredweight" an interesting album with some faster and softer points. Tracks like ‘Steam Roller’ are devastating, filled with the hardest riffing and rough vocals. It might be accurate to compare CWT with bands like Sir Lord Baltimore or Cactus: they are of a same class, so to speak, and all liked their basic heavy blues rock LP $28 SKU:20784

The band's sound (as heard on the opening track of LSD's best-selling "St. Albert's Dream" compilation) is powerful, deep underground psych with thick, dominant funereal organ and distorted fuzz guitar and effects, backed by heavy precise drumming. The Doors and Iron Butterfly influences are evident, and a touch of early Black Sabbath’s slow grinding sludge rears its head at times. •A true masterpiece of 60’s U.S. underground psychedelic rock, finally re-issued LP $25 SKU:17972

IF YOU HAVE OTHER ITEMS IN YOUR ORDER THEY WILL SHIP WHEN THIS ARRIVES, SO ORDER BY ITSELF IF YOU WANT THE OTHER STUFF SOONER! South Africa’s Led Zeppelin! What do you get when you cross Cream with traditional African tribal vocals and the deep baritone of a master storyteller? Or, what would it sound like if Led Zeppelin swapped out tales of Gollum and the evil one in the depths of Mordor for yarns about brave hunters and village-attacking elephants? It would sound something like South Africa’s Hawk (also known as Jo’burg Hawk). In truth though, even trying to draw any such parallels falls flat for we have never before or since seen the like of Hawk. Their contemporaries were bands such as Freedom’s Children, The Otis Waygood Band and Abstract Truth, all legends in their own right, but no other band flew as close to the African sun and captured its glorious warmth as Hawk did. Arriving on the scene in the early 1970s, Hawk’s unique mixture of progressive, psychedelic rock was informed by a deep reverence for their African roots LP $30 SKU:26938

ROY RUTANEN “S/T”-PREORDER Black vinyl hand-numbered edition of 300x copies . GOLD VINYL Label:ROCKADROME SHIPPING DECEMBER 12TH. GET YOUR ORDERS IN BY DECEMBER 4TH. IF YOU HAVE OTHER ITEMS IN YOUR ORDER THEY WILL SHIP WHEN THIS ARRIVES, SO ORDER BY ITSELF IF YOU WANT THE OTHER STUFF SOONER! Roy Rutanen’s self-titled album has remained a very well-kept secret among psychedelia and acid-folk collectors ever since its original release in 1971 on MCA in Australia. Now is the right time for Rutanen’s glorious music to shine through, with his unique combination of moody acoustic bliss and acid-drenched solos, as evidenced on ‘The Trip Song', a 10-minutes magnum opus that might well be a candidate for top 10 psychedelic tunes of all time! (Tell me too that ‘Plastic People’ doesn’t make you instantly think of Rodriguez). And like Rodriguez, despite the far flung nature of his record’s release, Rutanen is actually American. But during his time in Vietnam, Rutantn used two R&R periods to visit Australia. He liked it so much, he decided to fly straight back upon his discharge from the US Army. Rutanen's early recollections of Australia were of having good times, making many good friends: "I smoked a lot of pot and indulged in other highs,” Roy said. "I lived right on Manly Beach in Sydney and went to sleep at night with the sound of surf coming in through the open balcony doors.” He started putting his name about in the scene and playing his own songs at some local venues, which led to the album being recorded, and then more or less abandoned by MCA. What could have been the solid foundation for a promising career in the music industry was abandoned due to the lack of label support, subsequently surviving as a one-off release, accessible only to a select few who could afford the steep price ($650+) commanded for original copies. This long-awaited reissue is a strictly limited pressing of 500x total hand-numbered copies — 300 black vinyl + 200x gold vinyl, remastered for your maximum audiophile pleasure. It includes an insert with Roy’s official biography, as well as never seen before pictures and memorabilia. LP $30 SKU:26940

This is essential, must-get release for fans of 1970’s hard rock.” —Roadburn“One of the greatest hard rock albums of all-time.” —The Acid Archives•Considered by many to be perhaps the best independent U.S. heavy rock release of the 1970’s!
•Includes insert with history of the group, lyrics and rare band photos
•High quality vinyl reissue of this hard rock monster from 1976 by legendary underground power trio led by guitarist BillyLee Janey
A total heavy sonic assault! Since the release of “No Rest for the Wicked’s” in 1976, it's stature among collectors of 60’s and 70’s hard rock and psychedelia has grown steadily over the years, with original copies now fetching large sums. Originally formed as Truth in 1969 in Iowa, USA, Truth & Janey was named after a record by Jeff Beck. Between 1973-75 they played thousands of gigs, many with Leslie West, as well as playing with Blue Öyster Cult at a festival in Davenport, Iowa in front of 20,000 hard rock fans. All the while, Truth & Janey were writing original material, gearing up to record their first full length album. In 1976, they laid down the tracks that would see release on their stunning “No Rest for the Wicked” album later that same year. The record featured six original tunes and two traditional blues covers revved up in true powerhouse Truth and Janey fashion. Only 1,000 copies of the album were pressed on the local Montross records. Just as the ball started rolling, it all ended, as Denis Bunce left the group and quickly thereafter they completely disbanded. In a last ditch effort, guitarist Billy Janey reformed the group with all new members in 1977 and released the “Just a Little Bit of Magic” album, but it was a move in a completely different direction and has little to do with the ferocious hard rock Marshall 100-watt super lead guitar sound that dominates “No Rest for the Wicked.” "Not to be dismissed because of its underground status, Truth and Janey's only LP, No Rest for the Wicked, was another incredible find... Boasting a swaggering, bluesy grit, piercing twin-harmony licks, and the most righteously ferocious rhythm guitar tone this side of Ted Nugent, opener 'Down the Road I Go' instantly establishes the band's '70s hard rock aesthetic whose roots, not surprisingly, lie in English giants like Cream, Jeff Beck, and even more so in Rory Gallagher's Taste." —AllMusic. AYERS, JAY - ST (1980 yacht rock perfection)-SAALE! Label:TAM Jay Ayers’ self-titled album from 1980 opens with 'Midnight Lady,' three minutes of yacht rock perfection. High-pitched doo-doos and la-la-las hover overhead as the supple rhythm section lays a rock-solid foundation and Ayers yearns desperately for love, even if it’s from a pro. Prominent acoustic guitars give the song rhythmic propulsion like some of the best country-rock hits of the era, and an unexpected clarinet appears midway through to sweeten the mix. 'Easy Way Out' connects, delicately addressing depression with an appropriately melancholy backing and topped with a memorable vocal hook from Ayers in the way he sings the song’s title. The mood suddenly changes on side B, opening with a lively mashup of 'Different Drum' and 'Mr. Tambourine Man.' The guitars are jangly and the sound is more primitive. When he sings, Ayers sounds like a filthy drunkard wailing for quarters on a busy street corner. Instead of shortening the songs and butting them together to create a traditional medley, the tunes are carefully interwoven together, and the seams never show. The more reckless sound on side B shows more personality than the first half. The cover of 'American Girl’ perhaps doesn’t contain the conviction of the original, but the Petty-influenced 'It’s So Hard' is an engaging power-popper with some nifty vocal interplay. I wonder if the mix of the slithery 'One More Night' was intentional. The distant instruments and echo-heavy vocal create a smoky haze, enhancing the lyrics about foolishly holding on to someone." LP $19 SKU:24382

BARNEY JAMES & WARHORSE - Koneg, The Second Coming (70s lost heavy prog) Label:SEELIE COURT (ONE SIDE ONLY!) Fresh from the incredible success of Rick Wakeman's early concept LPs Barney James (drummer with Wakeman's band and member of Gracious) and his ex-band mates Warhorse made this sensational lost heavy prog LP as a promo acetate. Musically complex it begins with a spoken intro and tells the tale of Koneg Son Of Odin, as he quests to find meaning and death in battle. Keyboards and guitar interweave, with further spoken interludes, and culminating in an epic prog workout featuring fluid soloing electric leads. Only one copy exists of this heavy melodic progressive concept LP valued in excess of £10,000. The original gold handmade cover is reproduced as a gatefold. Sleevenotes by Rick Wakeman. BERTIE - Algy Lord Gray (1970 Kinks influenced) SAALELabel:SEELIE COURT A gloriously mad Kinks-influenced underground Edwardian progressive masterpiece. It’s as if Noel Coward, Hawkwind, The Incredible String Band, Neu, The Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band and The Kinks were scrambled together in a disastrous Star Trek teleportation accident. In 1970 the Berties took over a crumbling mansion in the wilds of Wales, made this LP, sent it to John Peel (whose letter of reply is reproduced on the sleeve), and never left. They remain in Wales to this day. Bertie is a deranged subversive and witty concept album about a man’s descent into ruin. ‘Dragonfly Wings’ combines proto-motorik drumming (predating Neu) with Hawkwind and Incredible String Band influences. The surefire future hit ‘Would You Like a Brown Ale?’ is pure Ray Davies filtered through the demented minds of this ex-Etonian band of dissipated aristocratic youths mangling La Bamba into a Kinksian breakdown. ‘Would You Like To Score? says it like it is, without the wishy washy metaphors of the proletarian bands of the time—there is no ‘purple haze’ here, only, ‘where can we buy drugs’. Far better than SF Sorrow, Tommy or Arthur, Bertie is a powerful argument for the return of a feudal system and a new British Empire. To reiterate, Bertie is the greatest LP ever made, and we wish to the gods we could press it on Shellac. Only two or three original LPs are known to exist, with fabulous hand sprayed covers. THE BEST LP IN THE WORLD. Originals valued at over £4,000. "The greatest LP ever made” — Seelie Court LP $24 SKU:24684

DEUTER - D (German cosmic psych 1970) sAALELabel:MISSING VINYL We say: ““A wonderfully entertaining exploration of drones, swells, rhythms, and melodies. Deuter was clearly a student of Indian ragas, but he took that influence and mixed it with drug-tinged psychedelia and synthesizers to create a vibrant new hybrid. If you're into kraut-rock, world music, ambient, and/or psychedelia, you need to get this album. Also highly recommended to fans of Acid Mothers Temple and the new psychedelia...” Deuter was a product of both East and West. Eckart Rahn, a young record producer at that time, recognized Deuter's talents, and in 1971 released his first recording, “D,” on the then fledgling Kuckuck label (not, we hasten to mention, in any way a “new age” album). Deuter began to go into the mountains to record birds, water and wind to accompany his music; he also began spending much of his time at an ashram in Poona, India. Deuter was also one of the first artists to blend that Eastern influence into his music. Yet he did that blending in such a gentle fashion that it never jarred Western ears, unaccustomed to Eastern rhythms and tonalities. The terrific “D” album is an all solo affair recorded via multi-tracked guitars, electronics, percussion, flutes, and so on, in what looks to be Deuter’s bed-room; very psychedelic processing, at times an almost ADII-like heaviness mixing with more Popol Vuh-ish mystical spaciousness. Perfectly crafted headspace and always a pleasure to absorb, this is one of the finest and most unheralded albums of the early 1970s German scene. An all-time favorite.” label says: “Deuter was one of the earliest multi-instrumental soloists in Germany. He is considered to be one of the pioneers of New Age music and is still active, having released more than 40 albums. D, his first album, was released on the legendary Kuckuck label in 1971 and is considered to be a classic. With guitars, sitar, organ, harmonium, Asian and Oriental percussives, etc., it is a mixture of psychedelic underground rock, cosmic music and ethnic fusion, at places similar to Amon Düül 2, Between and Popol Vuh. Limited edition, deluxe 180g vinyl, exact reproduction of the original first pressing LP $18 SKU:21068

FLUX-ST (1973 monsterpiece King Crimson style) GATEFOLD Label:SEELIE COURT Searing art rock monsterpiece dominated by a relentlessly coruscating lead guitar sonic attack as if played by a demonically possessed John McLaughlin. Flux is ex-Babe Ruth, ex-Motiffe, with lead guitar by John Grimaldi before he joined Argent and worked on their prog masterpiece 'Circus'. This LP is taken from a mono mastertape recorded on a BBC Mobile Unit at a live gig in 1973. A shocked Record Mirror journalist witnessed the concert and described it in a published Record Mirror review as 'a new form of music'. Sound quality is great and this is a band in top form playing exactly what they want, in a zone a bit like King Crimson's 'Red', but with insane guitar leads that bludgeon the listener to death. The vocalist later joined Italian prog rockers Flea On The Honey. Play this with a hangover and you will die in screaming agony. One very short track, and four very long ones. The gig ended with an IRA bomb scare. Yes really. LP $22 SKU:24151

FOX- For Fox Sake (1970 UK PSYCH ZOMBIES STYLE)- SAALELabel:SOMMER Originally released in 1970 but sounding more akin to ‘67-68, “For Fox Sake” is a superb example of UK psych, highly recommended if you’re into APPLE, KOOBAS, ZOMBIES, OCTOPUS, SKIP BIFFERTY, SPENCER DAVIS GROUP, RUBBLES. First ever vinyl reissue with original UK artwork. Remastered sound and insert with photos / memorabilia plus liner notes by band member Steve Brayne. Formed in Brighton in 1968 with roots to the mod-soul scene, The Fox consisted of Steve (Stephen) Brayne on lead guitar & vocals, Winston Weatherill (ex-Gary Farr & The T-Bones) on lead guitar & sitar, Alex Lane on keyboards & vocals, Tim Reeves on drums and Dave Windross on bass. During their brief existence they supported The Herd and opened for David Bowie. Their sound was loud and righteous with great vocal harmonies, tight rhythm section and wonderful keyboard /guitar solos. After getting signed to a London management, they recorded their only LP in one session and they had it released in the UK on the Fontana label and on the USA on Crewe, featuring a different cover. Sadly, the band broke up following year and since the inclusion of “Butterfly” in one of the Rubbles comps several decades later, they've become a cult group among psych collectors LP $18 SKU:22891

GOOD MISSIONARIES-Pylons (long lost 80s post punk classic) SAALE!Label:LION /COLOR TAPES Limited edition of 500 copies . Includes poster insert with archive band photos and slee• The hipness and success of London punk-explosion photocopy fanzine Sniffin’ Glue was almost entirely due to the irreverent, pugnacious sincerity of its founder/spark-plug Mark Perry. That Perry should form a band (Alternative TV) seemed a natural progression; that it was any good at all a surprise; that it maintained a stance utterly disdainful of compromise a small miracle.”The Good Missionaries emerged, phoenix-like, from the ashes of Alternative TV (ATV). They released one live album “Fire From Heaven,” before ATV founder Mark Perry left. Ex-ATV guitarist/vocalist Dave George and bassist Keith Rodway continued the band, with several line-up changes during those days. The Good Missionaries toured and gigged with such bands as The Fall, The Pop Group, Crass, Scritti Politti, Delta Five, Poison Girls, Nik Turner’s Inner City Unit and The Transmitters. Which in retrospect makes sense, as their post-punk/dub/experimental inclinations dovetails perfectly with the music those more storied bands (more successful bands) were making at the time. The Good Missionaries released several singles on their own Unnormality label, before splitting in 1982. LP $15 SKU:25096

HELLMET -Judgement Day (1970 doom-laden metal psych masterpiece)Label:SEELIE COURT Thought to be lost forever, Hellmet's legendary 1970 LP is the proto-metal find of the century. Long rumoured to exist amongst hardcore prog collectors, it used to be considered as the missing VO5 Vertigo cata!ogue number. In 1970, two acetates were cut at Oak studios (a 12” and a 7”) and then promptly lost, and those who knew of its rumoured existence decided it was mere myth or permanently lost or destroyed. But in 2021, this doom-laden metal psych masterpiece finally emerges from the Stygian depths of prog legend. Hellmet's sole lp is the ultimate incarnation of Leviathan and the Mike Stuart Span, and on this record, they hit a peak — almost like a raw undergound Led Zep 1 with elements of Cream. Hellmet's sound is characterised by a howling lead guitar tonally similar to High Tide but played in a heavy blues psych style; at times Steve Day appears to be wrestling a demonically possessed lead into submission. Three tracks are classic heavy prog proto-metal, then ‘Trust' gets into 'Dazed and Confused’ territory with its violent tale of resisting torture under the Inquisition; the dark epic 'Judgement Day' closes side one, a tale of heroin addiction and facing one's maker in an inevitable slide towards alienation and death. The song has astonishingly ornate and complex almost baroque guitar playing, with exquisite and beautiful passages, and treads a mournful path with an atmosphere akin to ‘Nothing Else Matters’ by Metallica. The LP benefits from repeat playing: it is heavy, but also deep, and has a vibe that combines anger with melancholia. A significant and historic find, if you ache for more true vintage Heavy Prog. LARD FREE- I’m Around About Midnight (1975) GATEFOLD 180 gram SAALE Label:REPLICA Recorded in Paris during a three-day session and released in 1975, Lard Free’s second LP, “I’m Around About Midnight”, encounters the band with a significantly different line up. This time, joining Gilbert Artman, is Antoine Duvernet on alto sax and flute, Alain Audat on synthesizer, and none other than Richard Pinhas - at the same moment he was making waves in Heldon - taking the helm on guitar and playing counterpoint to the drummer in a brilliant series of explorations. Launching in with a droning, synth driven cosmic soundscape - “Violez l'Espace de Son Réfrigérant” - that is pregnant with sounds of North Africa and the Middle East, the band then dives into a unique form of rhythmic prog that peppers a heady amount of humor into its brooding gloom, that shifts and evolves into different manifestations over the album’s length. Arguably the most fascinating and distinct of these are three works that stand slightly apart and establish the album’s creative range; “Tatkooz à Roulette” - primarily constructed from appreciating synths that foreshadows entire movements of electronic music that wouldn’t emerge until the 1990s - “Does East Bakestan Belong to Itself”, a wild gesture built around minimalist vibraphone lines, and “Even Silence Stops When Trains Come”, a work for piano and synth that makes interesting nods to the continuous music of Lubomyr Melnyk and works like Hans Otte's The Book of Sounds. Diverse, ambitious, and an endlessly thrilling listen, Lard Free’s “I’m Around About Midnight” is a true wonder of French electronic experimentation and prog. Replica Records’ brand-new reissue beautifully reproduces the original 1973 gatefold cover, and is pressed on 180 gr. vinyl in a limited edition of 500. Wild and not to be missed! LP $22 SKU:25459

This brand-new recording, which finds the legendary band’s core line-up intact, is a culmination of recently resuscitated activity; final tracks were completed and mastered late last year. Lithium X-Mas has an influential history and heritage. Formed in Dallas, Texas, in 1985, it emerged from the punk scene that included the likes of Nervebreakers, Butthole Surfers, Vomit Pigs, and Horton Heat. The band played a diverse array of venues, from seedy warehouses to psychedelic theme parties to Dallas’ legendary, upscale Starck Club. Lithium’s first forte was the excavated cover song, bringing their own twisted spin to tunes such as Nilsson's 'Jump into the Fire,' Lemon Pipers' 'Green Tambourine,' and Ultimate Spinach’s 'Hip Death Goddess.’ This long-anticipated release, economically titled Lithium X-Mas, is on Texas label, GrooveNet Industries/Treblephone. Lithium X-Mas is pressed on clear “windowpane vinyl” and encased in an elaborate and very-limited-edition foil-printed gatefold cover. LP $19 SKU:25110

LUCID GRAVE-COSMIC MOUNTAIN (heavy psych rock 70s style) YELLOW SAALELabel:ELECTRIC VALLEY Lucid Grave is a dark heavy psychedelic rock band with stoner-doomy tendencies from Copenhagen, Denmark. O.P.M.C. -Amalgamation (1970 acid psych w insert) SAALE Label:WAH WAH A splendid vinyl reissue of this much sought after psych LP by a great Dutch-British duo, consisting of Barrie Webb and Teun van der Slikke, who were joined by a host of highly regarded guest musicians. Originally released in 1970 by Pink Elephant, the music is a wonderful mixture of druggy folk, spacy guitar and haunting melodies that some sources have considered to be vaguely reminiscent of Love's 'Forever Changes'. They were located in Amsterdam's red light district, which is why they called themselves Oldest Profession(al) Music Company, or in short O.P.M.C. OZ KNOZZ Live Mix( US 70s private press hard rock/prog)Label:ShroomAngel Records/Ozone •First time release for these official rare professional live recordings•Limited pressing vinyl issue, mixed from the original multi-track reelsPure and original Texas hard rock/progressive rock: red-hot wah-wah blasting guitars, heavy Hammond keyboards accented with Moogs and other synthesizers, with rock-solid bottom end, and furious, slightly jazzy drums. Formed in 1969 in Houston, TX, Oz Knozz's 1975 debut LP, “Ruff Mix," has become a hot property on the collector’s circuit because, quite simply, the album is killer. People have wondered if there was anything more from Oz Knozz? Well, for forty-five years a handful of tapes sat in a warehouse, having survived a fire, the tape boxes even bearing singe marks as their battle scars. It is from these tapes that this live album is now born — and all we can say is that if you love the studio album, you are in for a special treat. The material here spans the years 1974-1979, and apart from the first track on side A, all are mixed from the original multi-track reels. As on “Ruff Mix,” the three-part 'Doodley Squat’ suite features heavy dual keyboard parts and crunchy guitars and expressive vocals; the result is a terrific Hard Prog track with lot of energy. Vocals are expressive and sit nicely atop the progressive (sometimes AOR-tinged) hard rock. We’re thrilled to be a part of the absolute debut of these stellar live recordings. A wild blast of flamethrower rock! LP $18 SKU:24301

REAL EYES-ST + A4 size, leatherette, soft cover 90-page book with drawings and lyrics . SAALE Label:WIZARD Rare local US private pressing from 1981. Described thus by one writer: "Dreamy all over, with progressive folk elements; flat out psychedelic rock in some tracks. Interesting and thoughtful songwriting. A great discovery!!!”; described elsewhere as "sounds running the gamut from soft folk, to psych heavy metal,” and also as "tasty and creative stuff throughout,” by a third scribe…. and this way in Acid Archives:"One of the best 1980s discoveries, this is pretty wild stuff, has a crude garage edge, especially when it gets heavy. The songwriting is pretty interesting and thoughtful, and as private press LPs go, this is distinctive and memorable enough to explain why psych dealers jumped on its bandwagon. A lot of the lyrics are pretty stoned. There is a lot going on here, with enough weird hooks and surprising moments to give any listener a fair amount of kicks. I like side two, especially the closing 'Visions of Obscurity V,' better than side one. In the long run, whether this will be a keeper for any individual listener will probably be determined by the insane 12-minute 'Madman’s Game,' an elaborate epic that encapsulates everything distinctive about this record.” —Acid Archives LP $32 SKU:24383

Shotgun had a successful career in and around Dallas, TX between 1974 and 1977, playing the club circuit and recording at the cities best studios. Sadly, nothing ever came of the recording sessions and Shotgun eventually morphed into VIZION, which released an album in 1980 that featured the vocals of Jan Houston. Finally after more than 38 years, Shotgun's long lost studio sessions are presented for the first time ever on LP as they were meant to be heard. The CD versions includes eleven additional bonus tracks. The most amazing thing about these tracks is how they remained on the shelf all these years! •Tight, muscular, lean and mean urban blues rock riffage. •Previously unreleased vintage studio tracks from the 1970's LP $18 SKU:19500

UMBRA -ST ((heavy, heavy music from the start of the 'American Comedown Era) SAALE!Label:LION Lion ltd ed of 300 LP edition comes with an 8-page LP-sized color booklet, with lyrics, photos, plus interesting and funny things that can only happen to musicians, and did to Umbra. What was available to unknown hard rocking dreamers like Umbra in Denver in 1971-72? Weekend gigs. Nothing but weekend gigs. But there was an upside to that: bands like Umbra could mix original material in with covers, and make enough money to survive. Or in the case of Umbra, to make enough money to build a home studio, where they recorded ads to promote their upcoming shows -- and eventually, laid down the eight tracks on this disc. Everything was recorded by bouncing tracks back and forth between two-track and four-track reel-to-reel tape recorders. Spacey intros and weird effects were created by recording guitar licks, then re-recording them played backwards at double speed. What sounds like a flute was the result of blowing over the top of a 14" goose neck (believe it or not). The resulting tracks are hard edged and heavy, verging on acid rock at times. Makes sense, as Umbra was a power trio most of their too-brief existence. Yet the songs (heavy though they are) have a deft touch. There are weird effects, space rock elements, plenty of melody, and a refreshing category-free approach to writing songs that makes Umbra's music exciting to hear. LP $18 SKU:25099

VELVET ATTACK -VISIONS FROM INNER SPACE (60s based popsike) SAALE Label:SOUNDFLAT Velvet Attack are a '60s based indie-rock-group from Dortmund, Germany formed in November 2018 to play velvet popsike melodies boosted by prog/kraut educated guitar approach. The five members have been part of different musical projects (Jelly Planet, Damo Suzuki Band, Astra Kid, The Cheeks), which is reflected in their multi-layered, refined sound. On one hand, they stick to the classic combination of jangling Rickenbacker sounds with fine vocal harmonies as presented by groups from the past, let's say from The Byrds to The Bangles but on the other hand their rock attitude is rooted with punk prototypes to psychedelic from the sixties. PUISSANCE --the Power of 13 + 2 (1971 Amazing sessions by the cream of underground French prog and psych bandS) Label:LION Amazing sessions by the cream of underground French prog and psych bands, first released in 1971 on Thélème, a boutique label owned by Magma bassist and Barclay Records manager Laurent Thibault. When Thibault founded Thélème, he wanted to set up a prestige outfit. He had this in mind when he set out to fulfill his ambition of presenting a panorama of the French rock scene by gathering the best groups in France together on one double-album, to be recorded at the legendary Chateau d'Hérouville studio, live in the courtyard with no overdubs. Thibault had hoped that labels would allow their best acts to appear. Philips offered Magma (the version of ‘Mekanik Kommando’ appearing on Puissance is the first ever conceived or recorded by the band) and Catherine Ribeiro; Barclay allowed Alain Markusfeld to participate; Le Chant du Monde let Voyage appear. The band Catharsis said yes; so did Contrepoint, discovered by Magma’s René Garber. Thélème artists included Ergo Sum, MOR, Zabu, and Solitude. Two guests from America were recommended by Le Chant du Monde: folk-singers Roger Mason and Steve Waring. BLOWN FREE Maximum Rock and Roll -A holy grail for 1970’s and 1980’s Metal collectors! Label:SHROOMANGEL (USA) A holy grail for 1970’s and 1980’s Metal collectors! If there ever was a band that could be classified as “obscure, underground rock” this is surely one. The only known release on this band is a sole 45 released on Excelsior (the label owned by the late Bill Holford, SR. of ACA Studios in Houston). Mr. Holford would sometimes take a band under his wing and help them, which is what he did with Blown Free. David Matthews (not that guy) started his career back in the late 1960’s, landing eventually on the Houston psychedelic scene. In 1978, he formed Blown Free, crashing together a fuzzy acid guitar sound with high-energy riffing, brilliantly shown on the band’s single, ’The Wizard.'After the dissolution of the band, and the break-up of Matthews’ marriage, David took off for greener pastures back in Wisconsin where he started his own label and put together another version of Blown Free, this time under the moniker of The Matthew Davis Project. Tracks 1-4 Recorded at ACA Studios in Houston, TX, 1982. Track 4 is an alternate mix of the version on the 7" single. Tracks 5-11 are taken from a rehearsal tape recorded sometime in 1978. Track 12 taken from the band’s only official release, the Excelsior Records 7" single, recorded at ACA Studios and engineered by Bill Holford, SR. File Under: 70's Hard Rock, Psychedelic Hard Rock. For fans of: Josefus, JPT Scare Band, First State Bank and Highway Robbery. Strictly limited to 300x copies. CD $12 SKU:26409

BOSSMEN - Personally Yours: The Complete Anthology w liners, rare photos, booklet. -Label:LION Liner notes by Dick Wagner + reflections on the Bossmen by Bo White and Ryan Sparks ,Massive color booklet with rare photos, Limited to 500 copies. Dick Wagner and his guitar. The Frost. Ursa Major. Lou Reed's "Rock 'n' Roll Animal". Alice Cooper's "Welcome to My Nightmare". Kiss. Aerosmith. Peter Gabriel. Wagner's contribution to rock 'n' roll is immense. And it all started a little bit north of Detroit with the Bossmen. In just three years (1964-67), The Bossmen amassed an impressive run of no less than eight regional number one singles. When you listen to these eighteen original compositions you can sense the long hours and the countless amount of blood, sweat and tears that went into creating them. Whether it's a stinging guitar solo (the sonic blast of an intro on 'Sunshine' comes to mind), a regal four part vocal harmony or a soaring arrangement, each tune bears the distinct early characteristics of the ‘Wagner’ sound that would later bring him success on a global scale and write him into the annals of rock ‘n' roll history. "I look back on the days of The Bossmen with a sort of reverence. These were my first days of recording my own original songs, entering the concert scene and learning the basic trials of making it in the music business. I get chills even today just thinking back on the two or three block line that formed every time we played our home town venue, Daniel’s Den. The Bossmen were the heroes and purveyors of the primal Rock energy for that angelic group of screaming youth. MAN… those were the days!" —Your Boss man, Dick Wagner • Liner notes by Dick Wagner + reflections on the Bossmen by Bo White and Ryan Sparks CD $10 SKU:15879

DIMENSIONS-From All Dimensions- from Acid Archives: “Celebrated Chicago frat-garage LP that's also one of the real rarities of the local mid-1960s LP scene.Label:COLLECTABLES from Acid Archives: “Celebrated Chicago frat-garage LP that's also one of the real rarities of the local mid-1960s LP scene. For those who find the North-East preprock LPs too lowkey this is the remedy - a solid party mood similar to the Raider's best albums with some Stones thrown in. The tape splice in "Mary Lou" derives from the original LP, apparently. A solid dose of mid-60s fun, all covers naturally.” Or, as someone nearer to the band said: “This Chicago 60's group is what Garage Bands are all about. From the high energy Them hit, ‘Gloria’ to the sexy, melodic ‘Mary-Lou,’ this group plays them rockin’ good. I especially liked their cover of the Roger Higginbotham's ‘Hi-Healed Sneakers.’ The Dimensions were not just another garage band. There was something special in the way they played together. They played gigs during the mid 60's in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago at places like The Hut, Green Onion, and the Deep End. Listing to this album takes me back to hot, summer Friday nights, stuffed onto the dance floor with hundreds of hot sweaty teenagers, having a great time listening to great music, dancing and just having fun.” Typical garish Collectables label packaging, including the omnipresent small drill-hole—but long out of print. FOLKLORDS – RELEASE THE SUNSHINE dreamy 60s pop/psych) - Label:PACEMAKER Fourteen perfect examples of dreamy, sunshine-infused pop psychedelia with a folk bent, originally released by independent Canadian label Allied Records in 1968. When we first issued this terrific album on CD many years ago, our booklet featured the few scraps of information on the band we could find. We challenged “anyone out there” to find some information on this elusive and intriguing band. Well, we’re pleased to say that someone took us up on that offer, and that someone was band leader Tom Waschkowski (credited on the album as Tom Martin). He graciously offered us a band history, lyrics, some terrific photos, and best of all, a rare pre-album single that the trio had self-released. This allows us to offer up as perfect a reissue of this album as humanly possible. The Folklords “Release the Sunshine” is a captivating album, a notion shared by the many collectors world-wide who fight for original copies, which are few and far between. Strange thing is, if someone were to say to us that the Folklords album was released by Creation Records in 1987, it would be difficult to argue. Why?, you well may ask. Our answer: the chiming guitars, the rattle of tambourine, the dreaminess, and the meandering harmony vocals of Martha Johnson place the Folklords closer to Biff Bang Pow, the Jesus and Mary Chain, the Revolving Paint Dream, or even My Bloody Valentine’s debut, “Ecstasy and Wine” (granted, at a much slower speed, and without the rampant fuzz guitar). Glorious remastered sound, as the twelve LP tracks were taken directly from the master-tapes; the two bonus tracks come from the rare, privately issued non-LP single, which features haunting, drum-less versions of ‘Forty Second River’ and ‘Unspoken Love,’ both of which were re-recorded for the original Allied album. A 16-page booklet includes a band history lyrics, and comments on the songs by Tom Martin. CD $12 SKU:19943

FRANK SODA -Best Of: High Times: Greatest Hits 1979-1995 ( the Great White North version of Frank Zappa.)Label:PACEMAKER No-brain party rockers like 'Saturday Night Getaway,’ 'Drunk & Disorderly,' and 'Oversexed and Underfed’ from wild and talented Toronto guitarist/vocalist with a frenzied sense of humor, Frank Soda — the Great White North version of Frank Zappa. Soda’s shows involved bizarre getups and climaxed with a television exploding on his head. Between 1975 and 1976, his band the Imps began to gain a cult following. Frank began writing songs, and 'T.V. People' soon became an anthem in the local Toronto clubs. This marked the beginning of the exploding head gear. Since the song was about getting "screwed up" or brainwashed by watching too much television, Frank decided to illustrate this by exploding a T.V. on his head. In Detroit they got the same pyro equipment that Kiss and Triumph were using. Soon the Imps live shows were known for high energy with outrageous antics. At one point of his live shows, he would do a guitar battle with himself on the video screens, as he ran around the audience drinking beer and playing guitar with one hand. He also added his infamous "electric suit". This had hundreds of bulbs that was powered by a battery, and allowed him to run freely throughout the audience or the stage. CD $10 SKU:26891

HOLLINS & STARR - SIDEWALKS TALKING(1970 acid folk)Label:FALL OUT The Chicago-based duo of Chuck Hollins and David Starr only made one album, a treasure trove of strong melodies and dreamy vocal harmonies which originally appeared in 1970 and makes its long-overdue CD debut here. KENSINGTON MARKET-Aardvark (1969 Cream style rock )-Label:PACEMAKER In 1969, Kensington Market released their final LP, “Aardvark.” This album is a weird and wonderful mini-masterpiece upon which much of Kensington Market’s reputation rests. This time out there were no silly jug-band tracks and many of the album’s ideas are fully formed and well thought out. Some of the songs, like the beautiful, trippy ‘Cartoon’ and the ahead-of-it’s-time ‘Help,’ use primitive synthesizer in all the right ways. ‘Help’ sounds like a lost Flaming Lips track with its open arrangement and blissed-out guitar playing. Other tracks like ‘Think About The Times’ and ‘If It Is Love’ have more of a melancholy air but are equally excellent and reveal a more pessimistic side of the band. Felix Pappalardi of Mountain fame is credited with "musical direction" as well as production this time around, and it shows in the heaviness, and the wistful, surreal weirdness of most of the tracks (similar in flavor to Cream's “Wheels Of Fire” and the Mountain albums), even contributing a short piano piece called ‘Ciao.’ CD $10 SKU:26890

LOST SOULS--ST mid 60s unknown U.S. Brit Invasion/ psych) SAALE!Label:LION The Lost Souls never released any records, yet the meager recorded evidence that survives indicates that they were one of the finest unknown American groups of the mid-'60s, able to write both catchy British Invasion-type rockers and, in their latter days, experimental psychedelic pieces with unusual tempo changes and song structures. The band were also unusual in their occasional embellishment of the typical period guitar-bass-drums lineup with flute, sax, and mandolin. Although popular in their Cleveland hometown, they broke up in 1968 to attend college. Rhythm guitarist Denny Carleton, who wrote and sang some of their best material, went on to briefly join The Choir, their chief (and more successful) rivals." —Richie Unterberger The music scene in Cleveland in the mid to late 1960’s was ripe with talent: the James Gang with Joe Walsh and Glenn Schwartz, The Choir, Eric Carmen (pre-Raspberries), Glass Harp with Phil Keaggy, the Damnation of Adam Blessing… and the Lost Souls. Of all those bands, only the Lost Souls never released a record. Then again, they were in high school, trying to navigate dress codes and bullies—and playing in front of a couple thousand fans when not suspended. Sure, they lost a battle of the bands at Teen Fair 1968, but it was to the James Gang with Joe Walsh. And somehow it is the Lost Souls who emerge from that time and place with the greatest mystique and some of the most adventurous music, music which few have heard. Lost Souls main songwriter Denny Carleton released a cassette of the band’s original recordings in 1984. It received airplay on hundreds of college and public radio stations in the USA (and around the world), and garnered glowing reviews… and that was it, until now.Not only is this the first time the music of the Lost Souls has been available since that cassette, our Lion Productions edition is the first release for many additional Lost Souls cuts, including alternate versions of key tracks like the insightful ‘Things That Are Important’ and ‘I’m Falling’ (the closest to a hit the band ever had), all taken from the original tapes and carefully mastered. Seven bonus tracks highlight the work of Lost Soul's main songwriter Denny Carleton (one-time member of The Choir, and more surprisingly, punk legends the Pagans); selections by The Choir, Moses, Milk and Carleton, many in all possible low-fi glory, recorded on various 4-Track devices, ranging from power-pop to grimy garage.•Whopping 32-page booklet has the full story of the band and info on the recordings by Carlton
•Includes a multitude of unseen photos from his personal archive
•Carefully remastered from the original tapes (+ the occasional post-Lost Souls 45 single) •”One of the great lost groups of the 60's.” —Option Magazine CD $12 SKU:20365

PARRISH & GURVITZ BAND -S/T (1971 West coast sound) Label:WET WORLD fter disbanding Gun, Paul Gurvitz reunited with former Londoners/Knack band-mate Brian Parrish. The pair were soon signed to George Martin's Regal Zonophone label, which led to the release of their sole LP—fully infused with the US west-coast sound—in late 1971. Martin produced a second album that was never released, featuring the talents of Mike Kellie (ex-Spooky Tooth), Micky Gallagher (pre-Ian Dury) and Rick Wills (pre-Foreigner), who would collectively go on to become Peter Frampton's Camel. This double-disc set compiles the 1971 LP and ten tracks from the unreleased follow-up, with liner notes and unreleased pictures. For those who like details, here is a more complete band history, from Paul Gurvitz: “Brian Parrish & Paul Gurvitz met in 1963 in London. Paul was a hairdresser and Brian a client. They talked about playing in a band and then formed The Londoners. The Londoners started playing U.S. army bases in France and Germany and finally made their way to Hamburg where they became a resident band in the famous Star Club. They made several records for the Star Club label before returning to London to start a new band called The Knack. The Knack disbanded in 1966—Paul Gurvitz formed a band called Gun (featuring Peter Dunton of Please, Neon Pearl, and T2 fame), and later, Three Man Army. In 1971 both Paul and Brian had started solo projects but decided to drop the solo projects and form Parrish and Gurvitz. They recorded their first album with producer Lou Reizner, and after it was finished, their managers took the album to George Martin, who decided to re-record the album and sign Parrish & Gurvitz to his own label. The first album, "Parrish and Gurvitz," featured Brian on vocals and guitar and Paul on vocals and bass; on drums was Mike Kellie (Spooky Tooth). Parrish and Gurvitz put a band together to tour the U.S. which consisted of Brian Parrish on guitar and vocals, Paul Gurvitz on guitar and vocals, Mike Kellie on drums, Micky Gallagher on keyboards, Ian Drury and Rick Wills on bass. That lineup recorded a second album with George Martin that was not released until now. Paul Gurvitz went on to record a clutch of gerat albums with Three Man Army, the Graeme Edge Band, and of course, Baker Gurvity Army with the legendary Ginger Baker on drums.” $10 each (2xCD) CD $16 SKU:26020

PIANO SLIM -Look At Grandma WatusILabel:CICADELIC THE INCREDIBLE SOUND OF PIANO SLIM, FROM THE ORIGINAL MASTER TAPES!Piano Slim—Willard Burton of Houston, Texas—played with legendary musicians such as T-Bone Walker, Johnny Winter, Johnny Copeland, and Bobby “Blue” Bland; even so, he is often confused with another Piano Slim, Robert T. Smith. While Willard Burtons’ recording career lasted nearly thirty years, this compilation concentrates on his solo outings from 1959 to 1962, including his first two singles, plus a bonanza of previously unreleased masters. These songs range from the Sam Cooke influenced ballad of 'Raise Your Head' to the Little Richard and Fats Domino inspired rocker, 'Lotta Shakin’, Lotta of Jivin', to instrumental ravers such as 'Key Jammer', 'Do It Now', 'Aw Get It', and 'Pat Your Rock', to dance-craze themed songs such as, 'Look At Grandma Watusi!', 'Mister Twister', 'Spinning Top', and 'Ennis Lee'. So take a journey back in time with Piano Slim as your guide, it’s a trip from which you may never want to return. CD $10 SKU:26336

PLASTIC CLOUD - ST Label:PACEMAKER In 1968, the Plastic Cloud recorded, quite simply, one of the greatest psychedelic albums ever made. This is one hip album, full of catchy melodies and hippie harmonies, as well as some of the most superb (and trippiest) fuzz guitar ever recorded. There is no point singling out a specific track, they are all excellent—one is equally as good as the next. We feel that it’s about time this fine record got it’s compact disc due, so we have gone all out for this reissue—it is remastered from the tapes; the accompanying twenty-page booklet has all the lyrics, thanks to Don Brewer, the man who wrote them, as well as rare photos and a replica of an original press release that must be seen to be believed. Essential psychedelia! CD $12 SKU:26895

PSYCHEDELIC MOODS PART 2 - Sunset Love & Inner Sanctum Journey Thru Inner Space)Label:CICADELIC After releasing the “Psychedelic Moods” album, in October of 1966, Mark Barkan envisioned another psychedelic album for his next release. It was to be performed by a Greenwich Village band called “Inner Sanctum”. The theme of the album was to be a psychedelic journey into the various psyches of the mind. The trip started with a journey into the past (The House Of Yesterday) then covered the inner workings of the mind (ID) then the descent into madness (Hydro Pyro) hallucination (Purple Floating) and finally culminating in nirvana (Snow Petals). Unfortunately, Barkan was unable to find a record company willing to lease the masters and so they languished for decades unreleased. Now, at long last the masters for this aborted album are mixed from the original four track tapes and forty plus years later the psychedelic sounds of “Inner Sanctum” are now ready, willing, and able to blow your mind. Sunset Love” was comprised of band members from New Mexico and Texas. In the fall of 1968, thirteen original songs and two covers were recorded for a potential album, but nothing was ever released. “Sunset Love’s” lush harmonies, soaring vocals, superior song writing, and flower power consciousness pervaded their songs with a depth and quality unheard of from most 60s’ bands. While their sound can be compared to such bands as “The Mamas and The Papas”, “The Peanut Butter Conspiracy”, “Spanky and Our Gang”, and “The Love Exchange”, “Sunset Love” had their own inimitable style that transcended a generic stereo-type. Had Sunset Love released their album in the 60’s, there is no doubt it would have been an instant rarity of excellence. The “Sunset Love” tapes are sourced from the original stereo versions and reveal the great harmonies and surrealistic lyrics of an undeservedly overlooked and forgotten band from the late 60’ CD $10 SKU:12399

REICHEL, ACHIM- AR5 Autovision (70s Legendary underground freak -Label:GERMANOFON: Legendary underground freak from the '70s German head scene.” (Freak Emporium) the label says: "From 1974. Achim Reichel’s fifth excursion with echo-guitar, a collection of group and solo recordings, would be his last studio album in the mind-blowing style. Available again with improved packaging." and a little bio for good measure: German singer, songwriter, musician, and producer Achim Reichel enjoyed a long and varied career that began during the beat boom of the ’60s, when he founded the Rattles, and carried on well into the next millennium, by which time he was still recording albums and performing large-scale rock concerts. Born on January 28, 1944, in Wentorf bei Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Reichel began his music career in 1960, when he, as a singer/guitarist, formed the Rattles with bassist Herbert Hildebrandt in Hamburg. The band, along with the Lords, proved one of Germany’s leading beat bands of the day, for instance touring England with the Rolling Stones in 1963 and touring Germany with the Beatles in 1966. Reichel left the band in 1966 after several albums, including Twist im Star-Club Hamburg (1964), Liverpool Beat (1965), and Hurra! Die Rattles Kommen (1966), and subsequently entered the Bundeswehr (i.e., the German armed forces). Upon Reichel’s departure from the military, he formed another band, Wonderland, whose debut single, “Mocow” (1968), was a Top 15 hit. Next he formed the experimental solo project A.R. & Machines, which debuted with Die Grüne Reise (1971) and followed with a succession of Krautrock-fashioned albums: Echo (1972), 3 (1972), 4 (1973), and Autovision (1974). RICH HOPKINS & LUMINARIOS - TOmbstone- Label:SAN JACINTO "As a long time fan of Rich Hopkins (singer and guitarist from The Sidewinders/Sand Rubies), I can't say enough about this album. Personally, as a whole I think it's his best solo effort yet. Each song seems to follow each other perfectly. The sound quality of the music is so amazing. It's hard to pick favorites but I like "Tombstone", "Private Shaw" which is followed by a corresponding song called "Mourning Song". The thing I love about the album is it is based on a theme and the liner notes explain each song. Theme or concept albums of the seventies seem to be long gone these days so it's nice to hear one again. Pick this up and I think you will be glad you did." —Amazon review CD $10 SKU:25063

TOWNSMEN -The Anthology: We're Doing Fine (60s beat and early psych)Label:PACEMAKER Beat and early psych from one of the finest bands to come out of Ottawa, Canada in the 1960’s. Their lush, four-part harmonies and powerful instrumental prowess made them great live performers. "Ottawa was a hotbed of talent during the mid 1960's. Next to the Staccatos (later the Five Man Electrical Band) and the Esquires, the Townsmen were one of the biggest acts in that region. Between late 1965 and 1968 - the Townsmen had some of the most memorable songs to come out of the Ottawa music scene during that time. All their original single recordings are here: 'We're Doing Fine,’ 'Take A Heart,’ 'Funny How Love Can Be,' 'I'm Such A Dreamer,' 'He's In Town.’ and 'Heaven In The Middle Of Town,' and much much more. This is the full picture of the group in an amazing set. Along with the original Townsmen singles, the set includes pre Townsmen incarnations of the group — the Jades, the Continentals and the Darnels and post-Townsmen duo, Harold. Also included are tracks from the female duo, Lori & Diane backed by the Darnels. The 46 song set includes first time stereo mixes, unreleased tracks, rare live recordings captured at the Ottawa Exhibition in 1966 and 1967 as well as from their reunion concerts from 1987 and 1991. All this is accompanied by a full color 16 page booklet. CD $10 SKU:26892

TROYES - Rainbo Chaser-Complete REcordings (67 psych)- Label:CICADELIC RECORDS The Troyes exploded onto the music scene with 'Rainbow Chaser' a regional smash hit that climbed to number 3 on the top 40 in September of 1966. Sensing a new phenomenon, famed bandleader Ray Anthony (who already had smash hits with 'Dragnet' and 'Peter Gunn') signed the group to his new rock label Space Records. His faith in the band was so big that nearly two albums worth of material were recorded at United Sound (Detroit) in 1966 and 1967. Unfortunately, only two singles were issued and the rest of the material was never released. Now for the first time ever, all twenty-four of The Troyes' recordings are compiled on one album. The recordings range from far-out psychedelic to unhinged fuzz and farfisa garage to moody haunting sounds. Included with this album is a detailed booklet of rare photos, radio surveys, newspaper articles, and Troyes memorabilia CD $10 SKU:19761

UGLY DUCKLINGS - Somewhere INSIDE ( W historic interview and radio segments ) -Label:PACEMAKER Rare tracks from famed Canadian garage/rock outfit. "A January 1967 appearance on CHUM radio in the Ugly Ducklings’ hometown of Toronto. Framed by on-air interview segments are six live in studio recordings, three demos, and one alternate mix. The live in studio tracks are all of good fidelity, and of the familiar numbers also recorded for their lone album, ‘Nothin’’ features a more elastic and loose Roger Mayne lead guitar, while this ‘My Little Red Book’ is a bit faster and more like the Love version. Another of the tracks listed as “live” is ‘My Watch’ which is an original Dave Bingham and Glynn Bell composition and has a solid funky blues quality to it. The cover of ‘I’m A Man’ did turn up previously in Sundazed’s Garage Beat ’66 compilation series, but it goes well with the short take on ‘Home In Your Heart’. Of the three songs listed as demos, all are covers. There is also a great alternate mix of ‘Postman’s Fancy,’ which has more psychedelic effects than the original side. With all the historic interview and radio segments this disc makes a good addition to the Ugly Ducklings collection CD $10 SKU:26844

WAPASSOU-ST (70s French Prog) Label:LION Wapassou is one of those hard to classify prog group, not really on the rock side of prog, but it would be a shame not to include it, the same way Art Zoyd or Univers Zero are in the archives. Their music is a mix of classical with meditative (almost hippie) moments and spacey ethereal music. Their line-up is just about as unconventional as there is no drums and bass guitar, concentrating between violin, electric guitars and organs. Sounds intriguing? Well it is. CD $10 SKU:26179

YORKS, LOS- Los Yorks ‘67(amazing Peruvian 60’s garage psych ) -Label:World Psychedelia A reissue of the first album by this garage psych quartet, who along with Los Saicos and Los Shains, are one of the best and most important bands to come out of Peru in the mid-1960s. CONGREGATION FOR ANTI FLIRTS -The McAllen, Texas Teen Scene 1965-1967 -Label:CICADELIC RECORDS \Subtitled: The McAllen, Texas Teen Scene 1965-1967. "From 1965 to 1967, McAllen was the happening scene for some of the wildest music to emanate from Texas in the '60s. The label that played host to these bands was Jimmy Nichol's Pharaoh Records and this album contains the best the label had to offer. Not only were the records superlative, but today they are considered some of the rarest finds for collectors of '60s garage bands. Singles by Pharaoh artists such as The Headstones, The Cavaliers, and Christopher and The Souls go for over a grand apiece, if they can be located. Congregation For Anti-Flirts Inc. also contains in depth coverage on the McAllen bands with rare photos, radio charts, and interviews, making this album a journey to pharaoh's valley that can't be missed. GAIETY RECORDS STORY- VOL.2 (Rare 60s garage, punk & psych singles) SALE! Label:PACEMAKER At last, a second collection of rare singles from the label that produced the cream of the mid-sixties crop of Canadian garage, punk, and psychedelic music! The Gaiety roster was rich in talent (the 49th Parallel, Jarvis Street Review, and Souls of Inspyration, not to mention the Checkerlads, White Knights, Dewline, Tomorrow's Keepsake, NRG, Merriday Park, and Portland Street South)—but it was not rich in resources, which is why these singles are so incredibly rare. This second Gaiety Records volume has twenty-four tracks in all, ranging from the ferocious punk psych of Solid Reputation’s ‘Lies’ to the wonderfully druggy (and truly demented) ‘Ode to a Cucumber, A Berry, and A Flower", a song that deserves to be in the pantheon of weird psychedelia right alongside the West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band’s ‘Help, I’m a Rock’. NRG’s UK psych-inspired ‘Magic Man,’ much in demand in collector’s circles, is here in all its glory—along with six other tracks by this underrated band, including the psychedelic groover ‘Withcraft’.Other highlights are four more terrific beat/pop songs from the Plague and Lexington Avenue (bands who would become better known later as Jarvis Street Review). Tracks by the Checkerlads, Tomorrow's Keepsake, Flying Colours, Portland Street South, round out the disc, and (we hope) bring pleasure to everyone. COMP CD $10 SKU:16069
