CD $14 SKU:19964

Label: LABYRINTH OF THOUGHTS The Last Drive re-invent themselves in a walkabout through the realms of rock'n'roll and psychedelia, free from any barrier or obstacle. PANDORAS - STOP PRETENDING w 10 BONUS TRACKS (1986 GIRL GARAGE GODDESSES)Label:WOUNDED BIRD The Pandoras were an all female rock band from Los Angeles, California. PETER HOWELL & JOHN FERDINANDO - Tomorrow Come Someday w dvd (60s private press rarity) Label:LION The second release (1969) from the home studio of future BBC Radiophonic Workshop composer Peter Howell and his musical partner John Ferdinando, makers of legendary albums under the names Alice Through the Looking Glass, Ithaca, Agincourt, and Friends. This private press album was recorded as the soundtrack for an underground film production by (later to be) renowned television director Ian Hamilton: "Tomorrow Come Someday." The soundtrack album, now presented from the master tapes, was originally pressed up in a tiny quantity for friends and people involved in the production; certainly no more than 70-80 copies were made. So what do we find here? A concept piece revolving around a village threatened by motorway expansion, and the efforts of short-skirted guitar-slinging young painter Emma Stacey and a local boy to save the day, and perhaps preserve their growing love. The film is described on the album jacket as “a musical comedy, shot on location in the Sussex village of Lurgashall, during August 1969,” which of course, doesn’t begin to tell the tale. Think perhaps of the Kinks’ “Village Green Preservation Society” characters come to life. See for yourself! For this is both the compact disc and DVD debut of “Tomorrow Come Someday,” film and soundtrack, together at last in a double-disc set. Chunky booklet with plentiful photos gives the full story of what we like to call The Wonderful Musical World of Peter Howell & John Ferdinando. CD $10 SKU:11958

GRAVEYARD TRAMPS EAT THE FORBIDDEN- Vol.1 CITY DOGFOOD Double 10” (obscure rockabilly, surf and R&B tracks)- Label:STAG-O-LEE (GERMANY) . Nearly 30 years ago, a now legendary LP by the name of 'Forbidden City Dogfood' was unleashed on an unsuspecting public. The release on Vip Vop Recs spawned many imitators such as 'Wavy Gravy', '4 Hairy Policemen' et al and paved the way for the equally legendary 'Purple Knif Show'. What few folk knew was that 'Forbidden City Dogfood' was actually less than half of the compilation made by Lux Interior. Now, for the very first time, the entire recording is available, weighing in at well over an hour of crazy, whacky sounds from the Maestro of Mad himself. Remastered from the original source, these obscure rockabilly, surf and R&B tracks are interspersed with B-movie trailer clips and wigged out voice overs. This one won't be around for long, so get it while you can. COMP LP $24 SKU:19926

Repress of 200 copies on transparant red vinyl. Recorded, edited and mixed over one long Red Lebanon hash-fueled weekend in October 1969, Group 1850's second album, 'Paradise Now', remains one of the high-water marks of European psychedelia. A wide-eyed, wide-open, synapse-electrifying set of songs, it sounds like the transmissions of a burnt-out satellite spinning through the galaxies of inner space. Group 1850 leader Peter Sjardin skillfully edited the group's free-flowing improvisations into eight cohesive, yet distinctly different tracks, part 'Saucerful Of Secrets', part 'Electric Ladyland', part Guru Guru, part Can circa 'Monster Movie'-era. The album was originally released on Discofoon, the label owned by the Dutch department store chain V&D. It has since become a highly sought-after collectors item. LP $24 SKU:19925

BLACKLAND- EXTREME HEAVY PSYCH (STONER ROCK)-Label:BLOODROCK The BLACKLAND musical idea was born in 2001 under the previous name of WIZARD (which is kept until 2005), with willer Donadoni (guitar/voice), Nicola "CYNAR" Rossi (drums) and Carlo Gagliardi (bass). Each one of them came from different musical bands playing other standards (HOPELESS, DIRTY POWER GAME, SAMA). The band is turned to exeperiments at the beginning: sounds of stoner and rock music are fused with the typical reflexive mysticism of doom, and its by those atmospheres that songs take their origin, by the extemporization and the convergency of each own personal background. Exhibitions are first characterized by a long and confused repertory, most of them took place in squats, occuped spaces and others underground spheres in Rome and in the rest of Italy (without producing any record or demo). The band goes on with its works of composing until it reaches a certain stylistic coherence, from which in 2005 the recording of its first full-length: EVIL OF MANKIND. During that period of work all members follow different projects in the mean time (such as the GRIMNESS, DPG, DOOMRAISER), which are characterized by differents styles but united in the same dispositions flowintogether. Nowadays, in 2006, the idea is evolving into the uninterrupted research of its own personal style of creating. Carlo bassist leaves the band in March 2007. The band stops for few months and in 2007, enters Daniale "Pinna" Amatori already drummer doomsters DOOMRAISER. With the new formation the band launch a new style sounds likely looking at space-rock. JULY- Second of July ( Stunning demos by one of the most important psychedelic bands to ever exist ) -Label:ACME/LION •Digipack with 12-page booklet detailing the history of July and their recordings •Available again on CD after more than a decade By this time, anyone with an interest in psychedelia that stretches beyond the Beatles or maybe Strawberry Alarm Clock (at a pinch), knows who July is. Well, at least they know that a band called July put out a super rare album that is considered by many to be one of the pinnacles of the psychedelic era. There's no way to overstate the excellence of the album, with its eerie sound, Indian-influenced chord sequences, studio trickery (tape loops/phasing), and heavily reverb-laden vocals. But that’s not the story we’re here to tell. Even before that quintessential psychedelic album was made, band leader Tom Newman was experimenting with home recording equipment. In 1967, he installed basic recording facilities in the bedroom of his flat in an old Victorian house in Ealing. There, he and guitarist Peter Cook tried out ideas, coming up with many of the standout songs from the July album. The demos they recorded display the kind of confidence that Newman feels was lacking in the album proper (yes, the ultra- famous psychedelic classic album!) that they recorded in 1968. Let’s go back to the near-beginning of it all, to a flat in a Victorian house in Ealing, and listen in on demos recorded with DIY alacrity by a studio whiz, tracks which will change the face of psychedelia, eventually, after decades of obscurity. CD $10 SKU:16165

LOVE- False Start-Label:BGO By the close of the 1960s, Arthur Lee was joined by a new Love lineup featuring a rhythm section of Frank Fayad (bass) and George Suranovich (drums), with Gary Rowles (lead guitar) holding court as the band's primary stringman. One positive factor is the combo's consistency and cohesiveness. This can be traced back to Love having just completed a successful European tour and Lee being able to collaborate with his longtime pal Jimi Hendrix, who not only helped Lee write the LP's jammed-out opener 'The Everlasting First,' but also stuck around long enough to lend his unmistakable firepower to the recording. The catchy 'Flying' typifies the early-'70s boogie that Jo Jo Gunne was able cash in on. Interesting is the heavier poppy (think the Raspberries) sound of 'Gimi a Little Break' with engaging chord progressions that conjure up Lee's work on "August" from their previous outing Four Sail. The concert extract 'Stand Out' does just that as the spirited side was derived from the then-recent round of live dates that preceded False Start's creation. It's packed with a compact, hard-edged energy that could be mistaken for Grand Funk or even a mellowed-out MC5. Proving his uncanny ability to jump from genre to genre, Lee heads down-home for the countrified 'Keep on Shining'.... Like 'Stand Out,' the soulful 'Anytime' is another reason to praise this album. Rounding out the disc are the seductive rocker 'Feel Daddy Feel Good,' and the syncopated 'Ride That Vibration' which brings to mind 'You Set the Scene' from "Forever Changes." Perhaps this is a fitting nod back to Arthur Lee's undiminished skills as a composer, since it was the final song prior to the breakup of the band literally weeks after "False Start" was issued. CD $10 SKU:19086

MORAZ, PATRICK- Future Memories 1 and 11(MOODY BLUES)-Label:TIME WAVE Swiss born Patrick Moraz is probably best known in rock music circles for his membership of two of the world’s biggest rock bands, Yes and the Moody Blues. He was also been a member of the progressive rock band Mainhorse, forming the band with bassist Jean Ristori in 1969 and releasing one self titled album in 1970. By the time of the release of Moraz’s debut solo album in early 1976, he was firmly installed as the keyboard player in Yes. Following the release of Relayer all the members of Yes embarked on solo projects thus ensuring that his “The Story Of I” received maximum coverage in the music press. He then released his second solo album in 1977 (“Out In The Sun”) before joining the Moody Blues. As can be deduced from the title the second disc on offer here is a pairing of the first two Future Memories releases gathered together on one release. As with all the albums in the Patrick Moraz reissue campaign, this album has been re mastered for release by Moraz himself from the original master tapes. (Time Wave) CD $5 SKU:19061

OOSTEN, MICHAEL - St (70s hippie psych) w 3 bonus tracks.-Label:WAY GONE + LION PRODUCTIONS (USA) It was sometime during the mid-'60s that the countercultural and rock & roll lifestyles merged. Any kid with an acoustic guitar and songwriting ambition suddenly had accessible role models in the folk and rock worlds to emulate, and plenty of venues throughout America at which to try out their songs and pick up new, progressive musical tricks in the process. Michael Oosten began his musical journey playing in various rock bands. Keeping a band together was difficult. He had begun writing songs that veered away from pop-song copies; and then there was the relative ease and lack of responsibility required for hauling around a guitar. And so, Oosten began a solo career. With a Martin guitar in hand, he took off, playing in coffeehouses and clubs across the country. By the end of 1973, he was ready to record an LP. Oosten settled on five songs and rounded up a couple of friends to fill out his folk/rock/psych sound: some piano from Tom Hennick on ‘Hey Babe,’ vocals from Jan Reek on ‘Garden,’ and bass from Al Byla on ‘Sunny Day.’ True to Oosten's nature, the album was sunny and full of charm, and it reflected his itinerant philosophy of life at the time. University of Wisconsin art professor George Cramer, and Mercury Records graphic artist, John Craig, came up with airbrushed artwork which graces the album's sleeve, and Oosten and friend Lester D'ore (former editor of Chicago countercultural paper Seed and designer of the Yippie flag) holed up at D'ore's Wisconsin commune farm to silkscreen each LP jacket by hand. And what an odd record, full of buoyant psychedelic folk/rock—woodsy, spare, and warm—that sounds as if it could have been recorded on the front porch of a country house. Needless to say, considering the individualistic nature of the album's genesis, marketing and publicity for the album was limited to Oosten driving to radio stations in surrounding cities to hand-deliver copies to DJs. Still, ‘Wayfaring Boy’ received quite a bit of airplay in Madison, and the album as a whole gained solid play on college campuses. Columbia Records expressed interest in Oosten's music; but after a single meeting with the label, it was clear that the album would be too difficult for the mainstream honchos to market. Oosten's whimsical, wayward talk-singing puts us in mind of other meandering vocal faves from various eras (like the Incredible String Band, or the Meatpuppets, to name but two). The album has plenty of lovely musical and instrumental bits, from the bouncy ‘Hey Babe’ to the brightly smiling ‘Sunny Day,’ while on the epic ‘Hungry Horse Montana,’ Oosten switches seamlessly from Celtic picking to Middle Eastern chord progressions. Oosten proves himself a stellar guitarist along the lines of John Fahey or Leo Kottke, only in a more eccentric and percussive mode. This new re-release has bonus tracks: three previously unreleased songs from 1973, to be exact. All told, the work of a true renegade, ripe for rediscovery. Oosten’s own version of his terrific album, exclusively. CD $5 SKU:13363

PLEASE- 1968/69 (SUPERB COLLECTION OF UK PSYCH)-Label:ACME Superb and historic collection of 1968-1969 UK psych—excellent somber, moody, minor key demo material taken from original master tapes and restored acetates. Trying to follow the chronology of Peter Dunton’s projects is difficult—these tracks were recorded soon after the demise of Neon Pearl (a band documented by our own Acme/Lion CD release), around the time the other original members of Please were recording the Bulldog Breed album for Deram (another band documented by an Acme/Lion CD release), and just after Dunton had left Gun to rejoin forces with bass player Bernie Jinks, his co-leader in phase one of Please for the band that would eventually emerge as T2. Booklet contains lyrics, and notes on the various moves and disintegrations. This disc features the original killer demo version of 'No More White Horses' (a song that T2 would take into another dimension on their epochal "It'll All Work Out In Boomland" album, also available in our Acme/Lion series), as well as 'Folder Man,' written by Peter Dunton, which has been utilized by Gnarls Barkley on 'The Odd Couple.' Includes an alternate version of the stunning Syd Barret-esque 'We Aim To Please' as a CD-only bonus CD $12 SKU:19303

RADIO BIRDMAN - Zeno Beach -Label:INDIGO 1st album of new material from legendary Australian punk outfit since their break up over 25 years ago. "Zeno Beach" is a long overdue new chapter in the RB story. The Stooges/MC5 influences are still apparent, but the writing & performances have matured & broadened. The results are no proto punk museum piece, but rather vital new music entirely worthy of a place alongside RB's early gems. CD $14 SKU:4958

S.T. MIKAEL - MIND OF FIRE (PSYCH) -Label:SUBLIMINAL SOUND Incredibly enough, but very naturally, after 11-years silence heres a new album by this mysterious and legendary Swedish psychedelic multi-instrumentalist. S.T. Mikael spearheaded the DIY psychedelic rock/folk movement of the late 1980s-mid-90s, with a collection of albums that now fetches up and over $1000 on Ebay. During his long absence S.T. Mikael grew more secretive and reclusive, but all the while he was still writing music. Now that hes finally back heres at last a chance for the world to join in to his psychedelic world again. The music, stretching out in many different musical directions, has been done freely and spontaneously in an extremely relaxed and happy environment, where Mikael joined forces with Dungens Reine Fiske and Fredrik Bjorling whos musical expertise now also grace the grooves. These otherworldly acid tripper recordings now exists in the real world and S.T. Mikael, proves, once again, to be a gifted songwriter and an unconventional performer with a very personal ear for acoustics and an emotional honesty seldom seen these days. Folk rocky melodic elements flow with waves of heavy fuzzphase leads, weird detached haunted vocal echoes over the band and the whole thing seems to teeter on the brink of psychedelic oblivion. Not revival either but purely of the now. You do get the feeing that Mikael actually lives the lifestyle rather than just emulating it. His soaring vocals, surreal lyrics, fragile, folky melodies, heavy fuzz riffs, mind bending soul funk and penchant for the spiritual and mystical make this altogether a fascinating voyage that is so mind twisting, soul swirling, upper psychedelic that your third eye takes you on a joyride thru an altered state! This album makes your brain start thinking in those pebble splash pond mind circular expanding waveforms that people on this vibe await the returning ship their roots sent out to bring back the password to tomorrow. A homage to LSD which helped him make the transformation possible. This is part one of a suite of two separate albums. The CD also contains 9 previously unreleased vintage recordings and an unique spoken introductions by Mikael. CD $8 SKU:7169

STRAWBS -Deep Cuts (1976 Dylanesque) LAST COPIES-Label:WITCHWOOD MEDIA ncludes the UK smash single I Only Want My Love to Grow In You and contains some of the strongest songs the band ever recorded. This popular album from 1976 has been re-mastered from the original tapes and includes a previously unreleased bonus track. Tony Mitchell, reviewing for Sounds in their 25 September 1976 issue: "Strawbs have a distinctive style, accreditable to founder member Dave Cousins... Cousins' presence is as powerful as it has ever been; he dominates both the writing ... and the singing, drawing on the other members of the band for back up vocals only. ... Deep Cuts is characterised by a sense of drama; many of the songs have strong story lines... with a moralistic or allegorical content reminiscent of contemporary folk music, or perhaps more accurately of the mid-to-late Sixties era when songsmiths like Dylan and Baez dominated... This is none too surprising since the roots of the original Strawbs lay very much in that era and that kind of music. But this is definitely rock music... undoubtedly enhanced by the guitar work of that other old Strawbs Dave Lambert and the rhythmic patterns generated by Chas Cronk and percussionist Rod Coombes. Indeed the choice of ''I Only Want My Love To Grow' as first track... seems to say 'Here we are, we're a rock band' but the following track 'Turn Me Round' has Cousins in more classical form with Dylanesque vocals and slurred phrasing, saying, if you like, 'but we're still the Strawbs'" All in all, concludes Mitchell, "an album which will not disappoint Strawbs fans and probably get them a good few more. It has power and it has magic. CD $10 SKU:19076

STRAWBS - New York 75 LAST COPIES -Label:WITCHWOOD MEDIA In the mid-1970s the Strawbs were on a roll in the United States. The band had had five consecutive albums on the Billboard charts between 1972 and 1975, with "Hero and Heroine" and "Ghosts" between them selling over half a million copies. In 1975 Strawbs set out on their first US headline tour. "NY '75" was recorded live in front of a wildly enthusiastic audience at the legendary Calderone Theatre on Long Island. This is the first release of this concert on CD. Following John Hawken's departure, Cousins, Lambert, Cronk, Coombes were augmented by Robert Kirby (best known for his arrangements on the Nick Drake albums) and John Mealing (formerly with jazz-rock supergroup If), both on keyboards. The album shows how the Strawbs stage show had evolved from its early folk-inspired tunes into an almost continuous symphonic sequence of hard-hitting songs. The Strawbs came on stage in a blackout to a long-lost taped introduction, 'Still Small Voice.' Among the established classics were new offerings from the "Nomadness" album including 'The Promised Land,' 'To Be Free,' and 'Hanging In The Gallery' which have never appeared before on a live Strawbs album.

SWAMPGAS -ST(1972) Label:Skyf Zol First discovered while opening for the Grateful Dead, Long Island quartet Swampgas were taken under the wing of producer Artie Kornfeld (Wind In The Willows, Woodstock co-conspirator) and set about recording an LP. Due to financial difficulties the album was held up a year, and finally given a cursory release in 1972 (Buddah BDS 5102), by which time the disillusioned band has already broken up. Listening to their sole artifact now, one immediately notices the loose, rural southern-esque vibe considering their northern roots, and the inventive guitarwork of main songwriter Baird Hersey, who continues to make music today as leader of the overtone singing ensemble Prana. TETRAGON- Nature ( TRIPPY 70s Krautrock ) -Label:LION An ecology-inspired Krautrock album (1971) from a short-lived group comprised of German school-chums, some of whom had recorded an LP as Trikolon. Tetragon did not conform to any predetermined musical style: they played whatever they pleased, as long as it included groovy Hammond organ and very trippy, flanged wah-wah guitar, in various taut jamming modes that favored jazz/rock fusion à la Miles Davis with a small dose of classical music (adapting a Bach fugue along the way). The result is a bouquet of lush instrumentals, with elements of Egg or the Nice, and quite a bit of T2 to boot. The album was recorded in a converted barn, using a Revox A77 two-track tape recorder and seven microphones placed judiciously to best capture the sound of each instrument. Re-recording wasn1t possible, as the record was mixed live. Yet these challenging conditions inspired the band to great heights: Hendrik Schaper played organ and clavinet simultaneously, with one hand on each keyboard; meanwhile, Jürgen Jaehner unleashed rampaging electric guitar solos, then, in an instant, switched to acoustic guitar for the next musical passage; Schaper didn't own a piano, so he used a pre-amp with a wah-wah pedal to imitate that instruments sound. A virtuoso effort, from start to finish! Tetragon didn't bother contacting any record labels; they didn't their music would interest anyone. A mere 400 copies of the album were released on a private label, named Soma after the drug-induced effect described in Alduous Huxleys Brave New World. Our edition includes all of the original pro-environment, anti-industrial pollution gatefold album art, a detailed band history, band photos, and a nearly fifteen-minute bonus track, recorded live in Georgsmarienhütte in 1972. TIN HOUSE- ST (70s powerhouse rock) w liners, rare photos, insert plus pic slv EP -Label:LION In the twinkling universe of virtuoso electric guitarists that followed in the wake of the genre’s progenitor Jimi Hendrix, perhaps one of the most deserving of renewed recognition is Floyd Radford of the band Tin House, a little known three piece that signed briefly to CBS records in 1970 and released one highly prized album a year later. The overdriven, fluid guitar work—heavy on the wah-wah pedal—is brought to the fore by a beefy full production." —Richard Allen, Shindig! Magazine CD $10 SKU:17823

SUN THE MOON THE MOUNTAIN- A PASSAGE THROUGH GREEK PSYCHEDELIA' VA Label:ARCHAEOPIA Three fundamental elements of the Greek psyche. From the Homeric hymns of the fiery-stallion-riding sun-god Helios and his ethereal sister Selene, goddess of the moon, to the myriad myths and legends surrounding the highlands and the consecration of Mount Olympus as the dwelling of the gods, these inextricable components of the Greek landscape, brimming with rich symbolism and religious gravitas, have dominated indigenous lore, mythology, literature, poetry and music for millennia. In modern-day Greece, one of the music genres that largely incorporated with such symbols and concepts of old -either lyrically or musically- is undoubtedly psychedelic rock. The pioneering work of Socrates Drank The Conium and Aphrodite's Child in the seventies, established the connection between Greek psychedelic music and religious/folkloric themes. Vangelis' epically toned solo career focused on mythical ideas, while psych bards Purple Overdose delved deeper into the magical mysticism of antiquity. Today were amidst a full-on psychedelic rock revival. contributingCOMP LP $28 SKU:19856

BISCUIT -TIME FOR ANSWERS (60s style psych freakbeat) -Label:NO TOMORROW Biscuit is one of those (rare) bands than take their inspiration mainly from 60s sounds (beat, garage, psychedelia, freakbeat, hard-rock, folk-rock, soul, rocknroll) but do not sound like just another 60s band. Their sound is uniquely their own, and trying to compare them to another band is so silly that lazy reviewers come out with comparisons as diverse as Urge Overkill, Soundtracks of Our Lives, the Byrds or The Prisoners in the same line. Which of course are all wrong. What is sure right is that these guys have a good thing going when it comes to combine meaty, solid guitar riffs with beautiful melodies. They know the secret of how to make well-crafted, passionate songs, the kind that grow with every listen. They can rock as fuck one minute and melt your heart the next. You can feel the anger, rage and desperation in their songs, but also the gratefulness, love and tenderness. You can feel the people behind the music. In a phrase, they've got soul. In my book, a truely classic record". LP $17 SKU:19899

BLACK PYRAMID- II(STONER PSYCH) DOUBLE CLEAR/GREENLabel:HEADSPIN Limited edition 200 copies 2x180 gram translucent dark green swirl vinyl, housed in majestic gatefold sleeve. Known for its dynamic sound that blends towering riff cosmos with magnetic psychedelic rock, BLACK PYRAMID has been turning heads in the underground music world since its formation in late 2007; the response to its initial demo and debut 7" was such that the band's name spread even faster than its music. The group's instantly agreeable bang and spectacular live shows has garnered the trio an army of loyal enthusiasts. BLACK PYRAMID's thunderous tone, fire-eating licks, lyrical bent and single-minded devotion to music has enabled the trio to share the stage with a variety of like-minded heavy rock acts - from Electric Wizard to Black Mountain - and have pegged the unit as a "band to watch". Heavier and more atmospheric than the band's debut, Black Pyramid II contains BLACK PYRAMID's most ambitious material to date; a fact especially underlined by the epic, 15 minute long closing track "Into The Dawn." When writing the album, the band drew inspiration from "Lovecraft, Robert E Howard, Edison's second book "Mistress Of Mistresses" and both Norse and Indian mythology", while a big influence as far as source material was Grant Morrison's "The Invisibles", the popular comic book series with a plot that follows (more or less) a single cell of "The Invisible College", a secret organization "battling against physical and psychic oppression using time travel, magic, meditation and violence." DEAD BOYS -DOWN IN FLAMES Live at the Old Waldorf 1977-Label:RADIO X Cleveland's legendary Dead Boys represented the very essence of punkrock. The music was raw, visceral, brutal and a whole lot of fun. Following the release of their appropriately titled debut, 'Young, Loud and Snotty', Stiv Bators and crew rolled into the Old Waldorf in the city by The Bay and tore the place apart. LP $22 SKU:18507

ELECTRIC MOON -LIVE AT EPPLEHAUS (acid STONER rock)solid yellow and black mixed vinyl DBL - Label: PANCROMATIC This concert was recorded when Electric Moon came back from Duna Jam in Italy. It was the second Electric Moon gig. During the soundcheck Lulu came up with the riff for the song 'Doomsday Machine' which was used in the concert, so this is the first played and recorded version of that song, which later became the title track of the band's second album. Limited to 600 copies on solid yellow and black mixed vinyl. Originally released as limited to 100 pieces CD-R on Sulatron in 2010. LP $32 SKU:19848

TROYES-Love Comes, Love Dies: The Troyes Complete recordings (1966-68) ESSENTIAL MICHIGAN GARAGE PSYCH)-Label:LION Essential Michigan garage/psych! Propelled by their local chart-topper 'Rainbow Chaser,' Battle Creek quintet The Troyes entered the orbit of bandleader Ray Anthony (“Dragnet”, “Peter Gunn”), laying down a multitude of fuzztone laced tracks throughout 1966-1967 that, save for one 7” release on his Space Records label, remained unreleased on vinyl—until now. The Troyes exploded onto the music scene with 'Rainbow Chaser'. Sensing a new phenomenon, famed bandleader Ray Anthony signed the group to his new rock label Space Records. His faith in the band was so big that nearly two albums worth of material were recorded at United Sound (Detroit). Unfortunately, only two singles were issued. Far-out psychedelia, unhinged fuzz and farfisa garage, moody haunting sounds, face melters (check out 'Corn Flake')—it's all here. Rare photos, radio surveys, newspaper articles, Troyes memorabilia, and the story of a band that could have been big. LP $29 SKU:19142
