CREAMERS - Stick it in Your Ear (West Coast punk) Label:TRIPLE X "The Creamers were a seminal part of the "second wave" of the West Coast punk rock scene. The band was famous for churning out their brand of Ramones style, gut twirling , ear-rupturing brand of punk rock. The Creamers were also one of the first L.A. punk bands to feature "girls on guitar". Today it's taken for granted that woman can and do play guitar, bass and drums in rock bands - but in 1986- it was an anomaly. If you love OLD SCHOOL PUNK ROCK with scalding female vocals, this one’s for you CD $5 SKU:20707

PANNA FREDDA - Uno w 6 bonus tracks -(Legendary obscure Italian Prog TWO ONLY Label:BTF (Italy) One of those legendary, but so obscure albums, "Panna Fredda Uno" is mostly based on a very effective guitar-keyboards interplay. The arrangements are great with lots organ and excellent guitar. Classical influences are evident, but the music contains a lot of melodic and a instrumental research. The voice is good, the lyrics original and the album has no weak points. A great album sometimes evoking EGG or CARAVAN! Recorded in 1970, Panna Fredda's lone work is one of the earliest pioneers of the ISP genre, one of the trailblazers of the distinct style of festive experimentation that would characterize so many great Italian bands. It's really an overlooked title in the Italian progressive rock universe. Heavy and dark with a distinct baroque twist and an emphasis on exploration, "Uno" was right there with other first wave titles from Le Orme, The Trip, and Osanna. CD $20 SKU:20679

"Greg Allen happens to be quite a musician and he writes good songs...He's good. He's really, really good."- Jerry Nolan, Tee Vee Tunes Records interview, 1991"Greg Allen played with ex-New York Doll Jerry Nolan and his band features some other folks with good bloodlines. KNOWBODY ELSE - Soldier of Pure Peace (brilliant 60s psych masterpiece )-Label:ARF ARF Hailing from the northeast corner of Arkansas, Knowbody Else was a ground-breaking musical force during the Summer of Love, caught up in the post-Sgt Pepper / Byrds-ian dayglow era. What they created at Ardent Studio in 1967 with legendary Memphis producer Jim Dickinson is nothing short of a truly brilliant psychedelic masterpiece influenced by the times that were a changin’. How these ten unreleased original songs have remained unknown and unheard for 45 years is both a mystery and a crime. Arf! Arf! has worked closely with the Dickinson estate for this authorized release taken directly from the original master-tapes. The music comes wrapped in a luscious, 24-page booklet chock full of photos, memorabilia, and insightful notes by noted artist Glennray Tutor, who witnessed their magic back in the day. CD $14 SKU:14791

LIGHTNING - 1968-1971 (Mpls 60s garage LEGENDS)Label:ARF ARF Lightning was an offshoot of Minneapolis '60s legends Litter that featured guitar wizard Tom 'Zippy' Caplan. After recording the Litter's 1966 garage classic Distortions and 1968 psych masterpiece $100 Fine, Caplan split from the Litter and formed Lightning. The band started out as a power trio and cut one fierce Cream-inspired single 'William' b/w 'Of Paupers And Poets' in 1968 under the White Lightning moniker with Twin Cities record producer Warren Kendrick. The band regrouped into a quintet and scored a record deal with P.I.P. which issued their eight-song album. That album has since become a highly collectable LP. Lightning became one of the Midwest's hardest working rock acts and toured extensively throughout the region during their three-year tenure. This authorized CD reissue includes their entire LP, the aforementioned 45, plus six additional bonus tracks (including edited 45 mixes of two album tracks) all wrapped in an archival 12-page booklet with lots of photos and liner notes by Litter-scribe Doug Sheppard. Between this package and Arf Arf's White Lightning Strikes Twice [1968-1969] release, the band's entire musical legacy has been properly archived. Fans of Blue Cheer, Cream, Hendrix, and Arf Arf's four psychedelic Dose comps will really dig this new disc CD $14 SKU:12952

MOVING PARTS, THE- Wrong Conclusion (late 70s BOSTON Pere Ubu style) -Label:ARF ARF In the late '70s, Boston’s the Moving Parts created intensely challenging, offbeat music. VICTORS - Victorious ( Brit Invasion)- Label:ARF ARF “Before there was the Litter, there were the Victors. Including two future members (bassist Jim Kane and vocalist Denny Waite) of that fab Minneapolis combo, the Victors didn’t have the psycho-destructo stage show, fiery sound, and psychedelicized pyrotechnics of their successors. But their repertoire of British Invasion covers laid the groundwork for the Litter, and they had the teen garage sound that propelled them to battle of the bands victories and into the hearts of garage fans when five unreleased recordings were first unearthed by Arf! Arf! on The Scotty Story (now out of print) in 1993 Victorious expands the Victors’ legacy with not only those five, but also 21 previously unreleased tracks, including eight relics from their beginnings as a surf-styled band, a stunning seven-song demo tape, five spirited covers from a 1966 rehearsal, and a raw romp through “Gloria” (or “G-L-O-O-R-A,” as they erroneously spelled it!) straight off an acetate. It also includes the now legendary 1965 Scotty single, “Beer Bust Blues” b/w “Scotch Mist,” in which four-fifths of the band (billed as the Scotsmen) romped as their friend Pete Lokken did his best “Surfin’ Bird”/“The Crusher” vomit-tone into the mikeVictorious traces the evolution of the Excelsior, Minn. miscreants from a ’64 surfy combo (named after a Dick Dale song, “The Victor”) following in the footsteps of the Trashmen and fellow Minnetonka high school pals the Ready Men and the Yetti Men to a British Invasion-styled combo covering Them and the Yardbirds in 1965—before it was cool It was all over for the Victors by 1966, but their legacy lived on when Kane and Waite joined former members of the Tabs to form the Litter, a band that grew from garage Yardbirds roots into one of the most innovative hard rock bands on the scene by the late ’60s—and that has been documented on four Arf! Arf! CDs. Victoriousadds to that legacy with 31 stompin’ tracks and an extensive 20-page book featuring tons of archival photos and graphics, a band history by Doug Sheppard of Ugly Things magazine, and recollections from their producer, Warren Kendrick, the man who wrote and produced the Litter’s definitive version of “Action Woman.” CD $14 SKU:6167

GARAGEAHOLIC - VA Psychedelic! Outsider Music!-Label:ARF ARF Obscure sixties garage punk and psychedelic rock may be the imprint’s main thrust, but every so often they wander outside such territories and release music that is just plain weird. For those not hip to the Arf! Arf! label, this thirty- track sampler serves as a fine overview of what they’re all about. And for those who have been supporting the record company’s cause all these years, you’re still in for a treat, as how nice it is to have such groovy tunes situated in one place. From the spit and swagger of “I Can’t See You” by The Starlites to the absolutely stupid yet utterly charming “Stinky Poodle” by Tangela Tricoli, here’s a disc that offers something for everybody. On the instrumental front, there’s the acid damaged delight of "Kaleidoscope" from Peter Pan and The Good Fairies and Erik Lindgren’s totally gorgeous version of The Edgar Winter Group’s "Frankenstein," which takes classical muzak to new and improved heights. Erik further shares his talents on “Route 28-American Kids Still Wanna Rock,” a super catchy pop rocker where his inner Rick Springfield meets Bryan Adams is revealed. Charted of shuffling rhythms, The Rising Storm’s “Love Starvation” pays loving homage to Bo Diddley, “Flyte” by The Flowerz pairs social oriented prose with the bracing bite of The Rolling Stones and The Standells, The Legends unveil a dosage of wah-wah battered guitar reflexes on “High Towers” and Changin’ Tymes travel a heavy duty psychedelic route on “Blue Music Box.” A strong Jefferson Airplane influence arises on the rebellious tones of 6 Feet Under’s “Inspiration In My Head,” The Victors turn in a loyal cover of Them’s “Little Girl” and The Litter quake and shake on “Mindbreaker.” Stacked from top to bottom with enjoyable sounds, “Garageaholic! Psychedelic! Outsider Music!” is the best greatest hits album that never was. COMP CD $8 SKU:20009

IGL ROCK STORY - VA PART 1 (Iowa 60s garage pop) Label:ARF ARF IGL is an acronym for the Iowa Great Lakes Recording Studio, the first one in that state. When the studio/record label scored big with Dee Jay and the Runaways' "Peter Rabbit" (included here along with other early tracks by the group) after leasing it to a major label, the bands came from all over the state and beyond, hoping lightning would strike for them too. On this sumptuous collection of 31 tracks we hear the first fruits of such studio recordings, capturing the more notable bands from 1965 to 1967. The IGL studio had a crude, echoey sound that made drums sound enormous and vocals reverberate all over the place, but as a scrapbook of the studio's early days and Iowa's mid-'60s output, this collection is invaluable. GREEN -ST (Ultimate reissue of 80s power pop classic !)Label:LION •The ultimate reissue of this vaunted power pop classic!•Limited edition of 500 copies •Color insert comes with notes, lyrics, and photos from band leader Jeff Lescher

Green arrived on the alternative rock scene in the mid-80s, amidst a Chicago scene that included bands like Naked Raygun, Big Black, and Ministry. While Green bypassed the major label-express that other bandsrode to fame and fortune, they continued to make records their own way, records which were lauded in the pages of Trouser Press, Spin, and The Village Voice, among others. And with each passing year there are those many who are convinced that their debut LP is worthy of those Mojo/VH1/Spin/ lists of the top 50 or 100 rock albums of all time. Green may be the bee’s knees for power poppers, but they deserve much more notice than that. They were an all-embracing band, with a taste for punk, glam rock and soul—and with the twitchy sort of energy that burbled around in the late-80s, pre-grunge underground (a little Feelies anyone?). It remains a mystery why so many other bands are fixed in the collective memory as the era's best; at the very least, Green should make a list of top obscure pop groups of all time! Color insert has band history and lyrics, plus many a fine photo, all courtesy of band leader Jeff Lescher. LP $15 SKU:19293
