KNAAST - Restless Soul (Seattle garage psych Brit invasion style) -Label:CASUALS AUDIO G The Knast is a garage/psych group from Seattle, known for its amazing live shows. The band's songs sound like lost, obscure 45 rpm gems, in a style quenched by British invasions and West Coast freak-outs! LP $14 SKU:21094

PIAZZA,ARMANDO - Suan (rare 1972 ACID PSYCH)-Label:MISSING VINYL Singer-songwriter Armando Piazza from Naples was joined by renowned US guitarist Shawn Phillips on bass, acoustic and electric guitar for this rarity, originally released on the obscure Black Beautiful Butterfly label in 1972; since it was sold only at concerts and by mail, it was even then difficult to find. And what a pity! Acid-psychedelic ballads in English, with bursts of fuzz guitar and excellent use of electric instruments as well as abundant acoustic guitar (the good people at Missing Vinyl say that the fuzz bass on ‘The House on the Hill’ will blow your mind and… speakers away)! This is an album considered to be one of the best, and is certainly one of the rarest European psychedelic albums, with original mint condition copies going nowadays for 1,000+ Euro. A heavy, yet subtle record, folky, with oddly inflected vocals and deliciously crunchy guitar. Limited edition, deluxe 180g vinyl, in a heavy deluxe double gatefold cover that is a replica of the complex original jacket.

PRODIGAL SONS -Emerge From The Void (Killer hard rock from 1972) Label:VOID Killer hard rock from 1972, sounds like a mix of Bolder Damn and Allman Brothers, with maybe a little Feather Da Gamba. Lost music from a lost time. The mystery and music of The Prodigal Sons continues to thrill and mesmerize listeners to this day. Who are they? Where are they? The answers my friend lay in the vault of the Void. An extremeley consistent blend of heavy metal, power-trio hard rock, and some boogie blues driven hard rock, featuring good wah-wah guitar. A great party album, leading one to believe they must have been a truly excellent live act. If you like Wildfire, Tin House and early BTO you will dig this! There's even some British influence (John's Tune, Saga Of Yeti) here. This is a killer throughout, and unknown heretofore." LP $16 SKU:21093

SEBASTIAN -Head Roach RAREST CANADIAN LP OF ALL TIME!-Label:VOID Collectors have whispered about owning an original in dark corners around the globe, only to have their hopes dashed when no originals turn up. Along came Void with a legitimate vinyl reissue of one of the rarest Canadian albums of all time bar none. When originally issued way back in 1970, the album came with a coloring book to color in the roaches. Soon the cover was banned for it's drug implications making the original hideously rare. Void Records with Sebastian has released a 500 vinyl pressing. The cover, reproduced from the original is glossy and brilliant. A lyric sleeve has been added as a bonus. Songs include 'Let's Go To The Drug Store,' 'Toking Alone,' 'They Call Her Pig' and more. Acidy, druggie electric folk with a touch Of Zappaesque humor tossed in. LP $14 SKU:19259

THREE MAN ARMY- 3 (must-have for all HARD PSYCH ROCK) unreleased material nice glossy sleeve - Label:WET WORLD Vinyl edition of totally UNRELEASED material by THREE MAN ARMY, a band led by the famous ex 'GUN' Gurvitz brothers. These recordings were initially meant for a proposed 2LP set of their third LP, but to reason unknown were shelved away and their third LP came as single album instead. Nine songs, clocking at 33 minutes now presented here for the first time ever on vinyl, are an absolute must-have for all HARD/PSYCH ROCK fans. Officially licensed from the GURVITZ brothers, coming in nice glossy sleeve. LP $14 SKU:19260

TYBURN TALL - ST (1969 German prog)- Label:GARDEN OF DELIGHTS Tyburn Tall was founded in 1969 in Speyer, Germany and played progressive rock with classical influences; the instrumentation was organ, piano, guitar, bass, drums and vocals (keyboards, lots of keyboards). After many successful gigs, including opening spots for Golden Earring and Renaissance, the band decided to make a record. This self-titled LP was released on the small label Lutz & Kern in an edition of 200 copies. Unfortunately more than half of the records were destroyed in a fire. Thanks to this calamity, and also the brilliance of the band’s music, this LP is one of the most sought-after German Prog/Rock LPs. One of the highlights of the is disc is the cover version of Colosseum’s ‘Lost Angeles LP $26 SKU:21088

DAVY GRAHAM & HOLLY-Godington Boundry (60s baroque folk guitar master) -Label:ACME Davy Graham needs no introduction here, as he is one of the UK's most influential and legendary guitarists. Drawing on influences as diverse as folk, jazz and blues, "Godington Boundry" is one of his later classics, which has (incredibly) been out of print on vinyl for decades. Taken from the original analogue studio master tapes. "With his unorthodox playing style, Davy Graham exploded onto the 1960s folk scene to become one of the UK's most influential guitarists. Drawing upon diverse folk, jazz and blues influences Davy flew in the face of what was then deemed commercial, recording a string of critically-acclaimed albums that reflected his exotic tastes. Revered by his peers as much for his guitar prowess and for his musical integrity, he is widely credited as the founder of 'baroque folk' and broke new ground when he introduced elements of what might now be termed 'world music' into his work. In keeping with the records Graham made for Decca, "Godington Boundry" is an unashamedly esoteric blend of the influences dear to his heart. As well as takes on the perennial 'Worksong,' then-contemporary covers of the Beatles' 'Mother Nature's Son' and the Incredible String Band's 'Everything's Fine Right Now,' jazz standards such as 'Round Midnight' are also featured. Tabla player Kesh Sathe contributes his mastery to 'Afta' and 'Nadu Silva,' and Holly Gwyn lends her stunning vocals to 'On Green Dolphin Street' and the rousing 'A Mighty Fortress Is Our God.' Enjoying cult status for a new generation of fans, Davy Graham's mystique endures and he remains one of the UK's foremost guitar greats." Import edition limited to 250x copies. •One-time vinyl pressing •First time official vinyl reissue of 1970 studio album recorded for President Records. •Original copies are mega rare (£400+) •Taken from the original analogue studio master tapes LP $25 SKU:21095

DEVIL’S KITCHEN- ST (SF 60s psych) Label:LYSERGIC SOUND First ever release by DEVIL’S KITCHEN, perhaps the best of the greatly talented but “forgotten” bands from the legendary San Francisco psychedelic scene of the late 1960’s. This heavy guitar-powered psychedelic four piece band moved from their original Southern Illinois base to the Bay Area during The Summer Of Love. The band came to the attention of Bill Graham and Chet Helms in 1968 and was soon playing on a regular basis at The Fillmore West. A short time later Devil’s Kitchen became the house band at Helms’ Family Dog Ball-room on The Great Highway in San Francisco and remained there in that capacity from the spring of 1968 until the summer of 1970. Devil’s Kitchen played all the major venues in The Bay Area and Los Angeles during this time period, opening for and playing frequently with many very well-known bands, including The Jefferson Airplane, The Grateful Dead, Santana, Quicksilver Messenger Service, The Allman Brothers, Big Brother And The Holding Company with Janis, The Charlatans and many, many others. The band spurned a recording contract offer from Mercury Records in 1968, displeased with the lack of creative control offered them by the label. Consequently, they never released any recordings. There are eight original unreleased tracks on this album and all were taken from the original master tapes that were recorded in 1969 at The Family Dog Ballroom On The Great Highway in San Francisco and the Sierra Sound Recording Studio in Berkeley. The music has a great and unmistakable late 60’s acid-drenched West Coast guitar-driven blues-psych sound with snakey electric slide and roaring fuzz guitar throughout, provided by the talented Robbie Stokes who later went on to play with Quicksilver Messenger Service and appeared on Mickey Hart’s 1972 “Rolling Thunder” LP, just to mention two of his many musical credits. The discovery of these master tapes and this subsequent release of Devil’s Kitchen’s first full length album, more than forty years after the recordings were made, is an exciting find for the collectors of obscure 60’s psychedelia. How a great band like this remained under the radar and unreleased for all these years is mystifying. Limited pressing of 1,000 hand-numbered copies. Welcome again to the great San Francisco sound of the late 1960’s! LP $21 SKU:12995

FIRST INTERNATIONAL SEX OPERA BAND- Anita (ultra rare 1969 Dutch Psych gem) Label:GOLDEN PAVILION Licensed reissue of ultra rare Dutch Psychedelic gem from 1969. Originally available only in sex shops in the Netherlands, this is one of the rarest psychedelic LP’s ever to be recorded in Europe. A crazy dadaistic psychedelic jam that is a cross between cosmic stuff and a deadly blast of Krautrock similar to Brainticket’s “Cottonwoodhill” (but recorded years before!) some Pink Floyd-sounding organ atmospheres and several crescendos of insane horror screaming backed by raw organ and drumming. Highly recommended to fans of Can, Agitation free, Brainticket, Magma, J.a.Caesar, Ceremony “People”, Vampyros Lesbos, Staff carpenborg & the electric corona & Hairy Chapter. In our top 5 Euro Psychedelic LP’s LP $22 SKU:21071

IHRE KINDER-Empty Hands (“Leere Hände”,English version) 1968 German prog psych) Label:MISSING VINYL Ihre Kinder, formed in 1968, and were the pioneers among the politically and socially engaged groups in Germany. Their second album Leere Hände was originally released on the legendary KUCKUCK label in 1970. The English version, called Empty Hands, has never been available on vinyl. There was a small number of white label copies pressed by Deutsche Grammophon in 1970/71 to solicit releases by Polyram companies around the world, but as there was no interest, the label dropped the idea. So, now it is the first time ever, that the English version of Leere Hände is being pressed on vinyl, with the original Kuckuck label and number, the original track-listing order and the cover as it would have been adjusted for the English version. A great German progressive psychedelic effort, which sounds different and familiarly great in English, that should be part of every serious 70s progressive rock collection. Limited edition, deluxe 180g vinyl, printed inner-sleeve.” LP $24 SKU:21010

FLASHCUBES- Bright Lights Anthology 77-80 ( Power pop) - Label:NORTHSIDE The Flashcubes may be the great lost power pop group of the 1970s. Formed in 1977 in the sleepy little city of Syracuse, NY, the Flashcubes combined their love for the timeless British Invasion rock 'n' roll of the Beatles, the Kinks, the Hollies and the Who with the high-energy sounds of the punk rockers just starting to make a big noise around that same time. Throw in a healthy reverence for classic power pop acts like Big Star and the Raspberries--and a healthy irreverence for everything else--and you've got a fair picture of what made the Flashcubes shine so brightly. Bright Lights offered all of the best of the Flashcubes, then and now. Fans of pure pop delighted in the Raspberries groove of "No Promise," unrepentant punks shook their fists to the angry clatter of "Got No Mind," while anyone who remembers ever being a teenager in love swooned along to "Christi Girl." And that was just for starters, as the old stuff had been remixed for maximum punch, and the new stuff simply proved that a great band was always a great band. Then and now, the Flashcubes are a great band. CD $14 SKU:14549

FLASHCUBES - Play the Songs of Roy Wood MINI LP SLV -Label:NORTHSIDE RECORDS A legendary powerpop band does the songs of the legendary British Rock icon, Roy Wood. CD $10 SKU:20651

FOLKLORDS – RELEASE THE SUNSHINE (dreamy 60s pop/psych) Label:PACEMAKER Fourteen perfect examples of dreamy, sunshine-infused pop psychedelia with a folk ben, originally released by independent Canadian label Allied Records in 1968. When we first issued this terrific album on CD many years ago, our booklet featured the few scraps of information on the band we could find. We challenged „anyone out there‰ to find some information on this elusive and intriguing band. Well, we‚re pleased to say that someone took us up on that offer, and that someone was band leader Tom Waschkowski (credited on the album as Tom Martin). He graciously offered us a band history, lyrics, some terrific photos, and best of all, a rare pre-album single that the trio had self-released. This allows us to offer up as perfect a reissue of this album as humanly possible. The Folklords „Release the Sunshine‰ is a captivating album, a notion shared by the many collectors world-wide who fight for original copies, which are few and far between. Strange thing is, if someone were to say to us that the Folklords album was released by Creation Records in 1987, it would be difficult to argue. Why?, you well may ask. Our answer: the chiming guitars, the rattle of tambourine, the dreaminess, and the meandering harmony vocals of Martha Johnson place the Folklords closer to Biff Bang Pow, the Jesus and Mary Chain, the Revolving Paint Dream, or even My Bloody Valentine‚s debut, „Ecstasy and Wine‰ (granted, at a much slower speed, and without the rampant fuzz guitar). Glorious remastered sound, as the twelve LP tracks were taken directly from the master-tapes; the two bonus tracks come from the rare, privately issued non-LP single, which features haunting, drum-less versions of ŒForty Second River‚ and ŒUnspoken Love,‚ both of which were re-recorded for the original Allied album. A 16-page booklet includes a band history lyrics, and comments on the songs by Tom Martin. CD $10 SKU:19943

FONGUS- Guadalajara Rock (First ever reissue of this 1978 Mexican hard-rock album. mini-lp papersleeve)-Label:ORFEON First ever reissue of this 1978 Mexican hard-rock album... great fuzzed-out guitar here and there, and mostly sung in English. CD $10 SKU:15117

FOUR LEVELS OF EXISTENCE - ST LTd edition ( 70’s Greek psych, 24 page booklet, rare photos ) -Label:PACEMAKER Slightly revamped second edition of an album that many people consider to be the best Greek psychedelic album ever recorded, a belief that would mean that the Four Levels of Existence LP would supersede albums by artists like Axis, Aphrodite’s Child, Socrates, and George Romanos. We’ll let you decide the argument, for there is no doubt of one thing—that this is tremendous hard edged psychedelic rock, originally released on LP in a very small quantity by the private Venus label in 1976. As band leader Athanasios Alatas said: “Through Nick’s musical quest, Mario’s sensitivity, Christos’ madness, and my thoughts, we create many songs, all characterized by a psychedelic music sound, Greek lyrics, and monumental guitar solos.” Since the appearance of our first edition of this album on CD, the excellence of the band has not gone unnoticed.* (see below) This carefully documented reissue contains the entire Four Levels of Existence LP, the only recordings they ever made. A twenty-four page booklet includes historical background on the Greek music scene of the early 1970’s, details of the band’s past written by Alatas, rare photos of the group, as well as lyrics in both Greek and English. This second CD edition is strictly limited to 1,000 copies.*As some of you may know by now, the guitar riff from ‘Someday in Athens’ plays a major role in Jay-Z’s single, ‘Run This Town’ (featuring Rihanna, Kanye West) from his chart-topping “The Blueprint 3” album. Just another reason for people to discover the legendary, fuzz-guitar laced work of Four Levels of Existence. CD $10 SKU:19944

FOWLEY , KIM - Worm Culture (early Runaways manager!) LAST COPIESLabel:ALIVE 1994 studio recording. One of his weirdest releases. One of the most colorful characters in the annals of rock and roll, Kim Fowley was, over the course of his decades-long career, a true jack-of-all-trades; a singer, songwriter, producer and manager -- as well as a disc jockey and published poet -- he was the catalyst behind much of the music to emerge from the Los Angeles area during the 1960s and 1970s, guiding his associates and proteges to fame and fortune while remaining himself a shadowy cult figure well outside the margins of the mainstream. CD $5 SKU:2266

FOX- Simple Songs (West coast pop 1972) Label:GEAR FAB On the heels of the Majic Ship breakup, guitarists Phil Polimeni and Tom Nikosey added the alents of Jim Ayoub to form Fox, the Brooklyn-based acoustic trio whose original melodies and harmonies set the stage for their move West to California in 1972.These recordings have been revived, sounding amazingly fresh and timeless. Half of Fox's tapes were made at the infamous Glenn Holly Studio, owned and operated by Phil Polemini, where may famous musicians would hide away to record, late into the morning hours. This is the very studio where Phil's friend and legendary guitarist Tommy Bolin jammed endlessly from 1972 through 1976. CD $10 SKU:19649

FOX MEDICINE -GREETINGS FROM MARS (stoner glitter fuzz -Label:FORBIDDEN PLACE Born of dark matter, this two piece noise unit combines noise, metal and classic rock, with a nod to experimental bubble gum pop. Featuring Neezy Dynamite's sultry (sometimes bratty) vocals and fuzzy, doom laden guitar with Vanny Keeps on primal drums and synth. For fans of Boris, classic metal, Daisy Chainsaw, PJ Harvey, Melvins, Arteaga, Luciferica, T.Rex and doom rock. CD $12 SKU:19665

FRANKLIN, RON - ST /(Dylanesque blues rock discovered by Peter Case )-Label:ALIVE From Bob Dylan to the Black Keys, Franklin went in search of his musical heroes-and found them-down on Highway 61." - Crawdaddy. FROWNING CLOUDS-Listen Closlier )60s style garage Pebbles style)Label:OFF THE HIP Amazing debut album by 5 teenagers from Geelong, Australia playing the most authentic sounding garage, beat and R'n'B you’ll hear today. You'd swear this album was recorded circa 1965. If you have ever listened to the comps; Back From The Grave, Pebbles, Ugly Things or Nuggets then you'll be instantly blown away by this fantastic record. The Frowning Clouds don't pummel you with fuzz. No, their's is a sadder, more forlorn look at impossible love, teenage angst and rabid yearning. CD $10 SKU:11326

FROZEN PLANET 1969-THE HEAVY MEDICINAL GRAND EXPO (Aussie psych-/jam-rockers) Label:PEPPER SHAKER The sixth album by Frozen Planet....1969 is another improvised heavy-psyched-out instrumental adventure. This time however, the music invokes the spirit of the old travelling medicine shows. This is a return to the "concept album" by the band (their first three albums were also concept albums). The tracklisting is quite simple, but the concept and layout is much more complex. Two tracks; the title-track as track one, lasting an entertaining thirty-nine and a half minutes, followed by a neat little "encore" of about six minutes. Track one is of course spread over two sides for the vinyl edition due to playing-time restrictions. However, the fade-out at the end of side one could be viewed as a lead into an intermission! The parts of the title-track serve as the acts of the show. The band takes twists and turns to help guide you through the story, while Doctor Berner is on a quest to sell bottles of his glowing green elixir with the help of some colourful characters CD $14 SKU:20575

GABBARD, ANDY - Fluff digipack w bonus tracks. (BUFFALO KILLERS- Modern Grunge Fuzz Pop with 60’s aura ) -Label:ALIVE W four bonus tracks! Brimming with creativity, Fluff by Andy Gabbard, his debut release as a solo artist on Alive Naturalsound, isn't moving beyond what Andy has done, or will continue to do with Buffalo Killers. Sometimes, ultimately, you find yourself with extra moments and more ideas than one band can develop. So naturally, it made perfect sense to give that inward creative need an outlet. Fluff is the end result.
Cut in one 12-hour studio session, Andy took on the full responsibility of doing a solo album literally. He played every instrument and wrote everything you hear. Reviving an established relationship with Alive Records, on Fluff you can hear the deeply-solid effects of the grunge genre and mid-'90s 'alternative music' in a sonic gestalt. Exhibiting characteristics of fairly recent genres, as well as some classics that surrounded him during his youth, Fluff breaks barriers of seemingly comfortable, unthreatening music cultivating a physical embodiment of Nirvana, The Smashing Pumpkins, latter Beatles and even Brian Wilson!
Fluff defines Andy's environment, a creative environment... an environment of ultra-dimensional levels. The days of solo albums being released due to further 'artistic development' past a bands catalog of hits, are over. Buffalo Killers continue their successful run and now, it's not running alone. Fluff is the start of something great and fathers the true sonic beauty and the relative nature of one single person and their soundtrack of nearly unending smiles in a sea of tumultuous frowns. - Shawn Abnoxious CD $5 SKU:16539

GINGER BAKERS AIRFORCE-"Live in the Stadhalle Offenbach Germany 1970 DOUBLE CD -Label:VOICEPRINT Ginger Baker is probably best known as the drummer with British rock bands Cream and Blind Faith. Ginger's next musical stop was his own band Ginger Baker's Airforce who released two albums of part studio/part live recordings. This short-lived band broke up in late 1970, and Ginger then went to briefly live in Africa, where in Nigeria he established his own recording studios in Lagos whilst also forming the band Salt, a band which managed to fuse jazz with African rhythms. A return to the UK in the mid seventies saw Ginger join forces with the Gurvitz brothers late of Three Man Army and Gun in the Baker Gurvitz Army. Releasing a number of albums with this band Ginger re established his rock career. Apart from live recordings included on the two original Airforce albums, Ginger Baker's Airforce recordings are extremely rare. This is an audience recording of Airforce in Offenbach Germany on 18 December 1970. This performance captures the second incarnation of Airforce following the departure of Steve Winwood and Chris Wood, who had returned to Traffic by this time. Nevertheless, it is a lively performance—actually one of the final Airforce performances before the band split. The performance features (amongst others) the Cream classic ‘Sunshine Of Your Love’ and Ginger's contribution to the Blind Faith album, ‘Do What You Like,’ alongside tracks from the second Airforce album, including ‘We Free Kings,’ ‘Let Me Ride,’ ‘Toady’ and ‘12 Gates Of The City.’ The recordings featured in the Official Ginger Baker Bootleg series are sure to become collector's items and are all sanctioned by Ginger Baker CD $10 SKU:19501

GIOBIA -NIGHT SOUND (Italian neo-psych-rock)-Label:SULATRON Debut full length album by Giobia, the new psychedelic sensation from Milano, Italy! Giobia celebrate a intense neo-psychedelic-rock, who is deeply inspired by the sound of the late sixties and shoegaze. Next to Guitars, Bass, Drums and Organ they use Sitars, vintage Keyboards and Effects to create a colourful and swirling sound. Their vocals are often in the background to produce a more far out athmosphere. They play tight and punchy as well as relaxed and floating in higher spheres. All that filled with love and passion for their music. Also they made some excellent coversongs of Electric Prunes and Santana and show their creativity and individuality. A very tasty album and a true highlight in the growing Sulatron-history! The trippy coverdesign is made by Lulu Artwork!, the bassplayer of Electric Moon. The mastering is done by krautrocklegend Eroc. CD $14 SKU:20243

GOLDEN GRASS - ST (70s style power trio)-Label:SVART Debut album! Special LP replica sleeve. The glory of American hard rock has returned with the debut eponymous album by THE GOLDEN GRASS! This Brooklyn-based power-trio is the real deal, and their LP harkens back to the golden age when heavy rock music was upbeat, skillfully played, energetic, edgy, and bursting with goodtime sunshine vibes. They come hard with a strong backbone of deep-pocket funky flare and an earnest/uplifting southern/country/mountain rock vibe, layered with waves of psychedelic textures that explode into jaw-dropping proto-metal moves. And throughout their progressive arrangements and timeless grooves are lush and powerfully delivered vocals, stacked with gorgeous harmonies and maddeningly catchy verses and choruses singing the tales of real-life loves, losses, and the drive to keep on keepin on! This album is a sure treat for fans of classic underground hard rock such as Truth and Janey, Dust, and Josefus as well as fans of classic UK psychedelia such as The Move, The Pretty Things, and Mighty Baby. THE GOLDEN GRASS will also greatly appeal to folks into the contemporary sounds of Danava, Horisont, Graveyard, and Dead Man. CD $10 SKU:20128

GOLDEN RING- ST -Iranian Styled 60's Garage & Other Exotic Sounds: Complete Recordings-Label:PERSIANNA As collectors continue to explore and discover new music from around the world, one country that's starting to gain momentum is Iran. Iran has been a mystery to collectors for many years, and even today it remains a blackbox to most. Within the rubbles of Iran's lost musical history comes Golden Ring, one of the first, and most prodominent Iranian garage groups from the '60s. Based in Teheran, Golden Ring recorded and released a series of songs on 7" during the late 60's and early 70's before disbanding. They were one of the first Iranian bands to be influenced by Western music such as The Beatles, combining traditional Iranian instrumentation and melodies with structures found in UK and North American rock and pop. This combination resulted in an Iranian take on garage music during the genre's climax. One of the members of Golden Ring, Arif, later went on to become a solo artist, and over time became one of the legendary artists within Irans musical landscape. His solo material spread across 45's, soundtracks and generations of fans. Sadly Golden Ring never recorded or released a full length album, but through a lot of hard work and effort we are pleased to offer a full length compilation of Golden Ring's music for you to enjoy. GOLEM - Orion Awakes (70s Kraut psych space rock)Label:ACME/ LION Epic early to mid-1970's instrumental psychedelic space-rock from the Pyramid Records archive, said to be pseudonymous after-hours studio sessions featuring the biggest names on the Krautrock scene at the time; heavy drums, jamming guitars and Hammond organ: in short, and amazing improvised free-form trip of impressive magnitude, on par with the music of Krautrock heavyweights like Neu! and Gila. An adventurous atmosphere throughout, whether the result is hallucinogenic and jazzy ('Jupiter'), the heavy freak and roll of 'The Returning,' with crushing guitars and massive, repetitive almost funky rhythm, or the Jimi Hendrix-inspired 'Godhead Dance.' Booklet essay examines the controversy surrounding this and other recordings first made known to the world via Virgin Records' three disc "Unknown Deutschland" series of compilations from the 19901s, including the fact that one "Genius P Orridge" is named as producer of the Golem album. It1s clear enough to all that Genius P Orridge is strangely similar to the name Genesis P Orridge, he of Throbbing Gristle and Psychic TV fame. The fact that the other names on the Golem album jacket lead nowhere only adds to the confusion. In any case, a deep and fascinating record, still fresh despite the years... and meant to be played loud. 3A space-rockin' hybrid of Gila and instrumental Hendrix type moves, Golem were another band from the lost Pyramid Records archive. Totally instrumental, and a feast for guitar fans... On first listen Golem comes across as a lost classic of Krautrock without a doubt, with a music that blends everything from Neu! to Novalis, and all crammed full of solos.2 ‹Crack in the Cosmic Egg CD $12 SKU:11999

GONZALEZ, WALLY -Tunog Pinoy (heavy acid blues psych)Label:VICOR ENTERTAINMENT (Philippines) Just listening to the soaring solos of the third track, ‘Pinag-isa’, makes us think how much this sounds like Pink Floyd circa “Dark Side of the Moon”—atmospheric, with breathy vocals, yet thick with that mid-70’s heavy energy at the same time; then you get to ‘Rock & Roll Mama’, and it’s stinging guitar leads and crunching rhythm section all the way; Gonzalez clearly was not a one trick (heavy acid blues rock) pony, which explains why this album has always been held in such high regard among those who had a chance to hear it. CD $10 SKU:18971

GONZALEZ, WALLY -Wally on the Road 70s (heavy acid blues psych)-Label:VICOR ENTERTAINMENT (Philippines) First off, don’t be deceived by the title—this is a studio album all the way; altogether a different sort of album from “Tunog Pinoy”, thudding out of the gate with the monumental ‘Kailan Pa Kaya’, syrupy treated vocals, John Bonham-esque drumming and all; dig too, if you will, the Zeppelin vibe of ‘Screw’ before sailing into the trippy, acoustic ‘Tattong Araw’, or the legendary ‘Wally’s Blues’; more effects than the earlier record, sounding more like newfound recordings from the late 1960’s than a mid-70’s record—this has more psychedelic credentials than most reissues which get that label bestowed upon them; you might say that while “Tunog Pinoy” is classic rock in the best sense, this is classic psychedelia, in the best sense. GOSPELBEACH- Pacific Surf Line- Digipack Label:ALIVE GospelbeacH is Tom Sanford (drums), Brent Rademaker (vocals, guitar), Jason Soda (vocals, guitar), Neal Casal (vocals, guitar), and Kip Boardman (vocals, bass), with guest appearance by Nelson Bragg (vocal harmonies), and Ben Knight (guitar).

The five members of GospelbeacH possess a prestigious collective resume that includes membership in Beachwood Sparks, Further, The Tyde, the Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Ryan Adams and the Cardinals, and Everest. But one listen to the quintet’s warmly wonderful debut album Pacific Surf Line will instantly dispel any preconceptions about supergroup self-indulgence or side-project slumming.

The album—which Brent and Jason co-produced with Scott Hackwith, known for his studio work with the likes of Spiritualized and the Ramones—embodies an open-hearted optimism that’s reflected in the band’s sunny, upbeat songcraft, and in the buoyant, organic performances that show off the quintet’s uncanny, instinctive chemistry.

A sunny, breezy debut. – NPR

A sleepy (stoned?) version of folk-rock structures that’s somewhere between kaleidoscopic alt-country and the times when the Grateful Dead decided to color within the lines. – SPIN

GREEN - Eau de Vie-(Power pop 2001) Label:GANG GREEN RECORDS Album number six by Green (from 2001), this collection of songs was recorded in France with Iain Burgess (of Big Black, Naked Raygun, Mega City Four fame) at his Black Box studio. It continues the layered tradition of earlier releases and builds on the Green legacy of intelligent songwriting and pathetic promotion. "Like Big Star's Alex Chilton, singer-guitarist Jeff Lescher makes sophisticated power-pop with more than a dollop of blue-eyed soul. Green's latest album in a criminally underappreciated 15-year career conjures the plaintiveness of "Village Green Preservation Society." —Greg Kot, Chicago Tribune CD $10 SKU:20528

LOGOS -Firesides and Guitars (Acid ARchives fave 70s private issue -Label:OUT SIDER Logos 'Firesides and Guitars' was one of the most enigmatic private albums from the US. Housed in a sparse cover with little info, it was released in tiny quantities on the collectable Audio House label (home also of Smack). Nothing was known about the band until now: they were an obscure folk-rock trio from Kansas, comprised of 16-year-old Steve Epley plus brothers Chris and Cindy Williams. Their sound was charming, home-made folk-rock full of youthful innocence with layers of dual acoustic guitars and refreshing male-female vocals, featuring an impressive set of self-penned songs. Comparisons bring to mind Crosby Still & Nash or Shadrack Chameleon… Highly recommended to any folk-rock / SSW sounds collector. First time ever reissue. Full colour insert with rare photo and liner notes by band member Steve Epley. “…The combination of guitar tapestries and strong, almost Beatles-like melodies, creates an appealing experience that stands up well for repeat plays…" “…It’s refreshing to find this gem among all the mediocre 1970s hippie-folkers being touted…” “The one track with female lead vocals borders on femme soft psych, and none the worse for that. This is not a wimpy LP, but a rare case of a local band finding a melodic hippie frame that fits them perfect” – Patrick Lundborg (Acid Archives) CD $15 SKU:20543

FRISCH, HANS - Levende Opjekten Sjooo (1969 Batshit crazy acidhead) Label:GOLDEN PAVILION Mutant Sounds blog says
Batshit crazy acidhead bedazzlement from the heyday of the Dutch counterculture, with the free rock/free improv spirit summoning unleashed by this band of furry freaks begging comparison with the earliest and most shamanistically summoning wing of the Krautrock continuum from Amon Duul to Limbus 4 to Anima. It's a stance which makes their sound far more musically prescient and less time-bound than most anything else emanating from Holland at the time; their unfettered roundelays of bongos, flutes, horns, percussive clatter and wailing avant vocals offering direct pointers toward the sort of sounds currently embodied by the Finnish free rock and improv scene. The pics of half naked Dionysian abandon enclosed and the knowledge that part of this edition was seized by the Dutch police elevate the actions of these cultural provocateurs to an even higher level. An album to be relished.
Sleeve consists of two seperate sheets.
Inserts: photographs of the performance, sheets.
Part of the edition was confiscated by Dutch police. LP $25 SKU:21098

SHOTGUN-Dallasian Rock(70s blues rock Prev. unrel vintage studio tracks) - Label:SHROOMANGEL (USA) A blend of hard hitting riff rock á la early Led Zeppelin and James Gang, with a guitar attack reminiscent of bands like Leafhound or Edgar Broughton Band. Tight, muscular, lean and mean urban blues rock riffage and soaring, soulful vocals, punchy bass and solid drumming make for a memorable set of songs that you won't soon forget. Shotgun had a successful career in and around Dallas, TX between 1974 and 1977, playing the club circuit and recording at the cities best studios. Sadly, nothing ever came of the recording sessions and Shotgun eventually morphed into VIZION, which released an album in 1980 that featured the vocals of Jan Houston. Finally after more than 38 years, Shotgun's long lost studio sessions are presented for the first time ever on LP as they were meant to be heard. The CD versions includes eleven additional bonus tracks. The most amazing thing about these tracks is how they remained on the shelf all these years! •Tight, muscular, lean and mean urban blues rock riffage. •Previously unreleased vintage studio tracks from the 1970's LP $15 SKU:19500

SIGN OFFS - s/t kick-ass punk rock ) SAALE -Label:DISASTER COLOR VINYL with one non-CD bonus track. What the hell is it about young kids from culturally dead suburban wastelands that makes for such goddamn good rock? Case in point: Cleveland's The SIGN OFFS. Whereas most punk kids are happy just to dress the part and play in useless, shitty bands until banking or insurance sales brings dreary normality to their doors, this bunch of high-schoolers from way-the-hell out on the far-west side of town, knocking out quickie rock'n'roll burners inspired by the usual suspects, (D-Generation, Turbonegro, G'nR, US Bombs, AC/DC, Dead Boys) quickly matured into a powerhouse live band. The the singer and both guitarists just turned 18 when they recorded this album, and one of the members was still in high-school. SMITH, CRAIG - Love is our Existence (1969 psych weirdness)-Label:Maitreya Apache Music P version. Tip-on gatefold sleeve; Includes liner notes; Edition of 500. Craig Smith was an extraordinarily gifted songwriter and musician who seemed poised for a successful career in the 1960s music business until his life was derailed by drugs and schizophrenia. In 1969 clean-cut, charismatic Craig Smith became Maitreya Kali, a dark, disturbed psychedelic Messiah figure with a black widow spider tattooed on his third eye. He laid out his strange vision on a self-released double-album Apache/Inca (1972), which would become a sought-after artifact of the psychedelic era. Success came easily for Craig Smith. In 1963, right out of high school he became a cast member of the popular Andy Williams TV show as one of the Good Time Singers, a wholesome folk ensemble that recorded for Capitol Records. Next he landed one of the lead parts in a new TV show, The Happeners, about a Greenwich Village folk group. But when the TV pilot was not picked up, he set out on his own musical path with the folk-rock duo Chris & Craig and then the more psychedelic Penny Arkade, produced and managed by Mike Nesmith of the Monkees. Throughout this period Smith was constantly writing songs, some of which were recorded by other artists, including the Monkees ("Salesman"), Andy Williams ("Holly", "Christmas Holiday"), the Robbs ("Rapid Transit"), and Glen Campbell ("Country Girl"). But soon afterwards, his life took a dark, terrifying turn. Turning to LSD and Eastern mysticism he journeyed through Asia along the hippie trail where he was brutally attacked, raped, and left for dead. He was never the same again. As Maitreya Kali, he self-released the now legendary Apache and Inca albums in 1972 before disappearing into the shadows. He spent much of the 1970s in prison or in mental institutions before eventually drifting into homelessness on the streets of Hollywood. He died in his sleeping bag in North Hollywood Park in March 2012. Craig's older brother Gary contacted Stax with a trove of unreleased music. The best of those songs are presented on Love Is Our Existence. Professionally recorded in Los Angeles studios between 1966 and 1971, these previously unheard songs reveal a singer and songwriter of breathtaking depth and talent. Remastered from acetate discs and master tapes. LP $25 SKU:10280

SS-20 -- Dream Life. (rare Voxx 60s style psych LAST 3 COPIES - Label:VOXX rare early BOMP release nearly out out print,Put together Bruce Wagner, an amazingly nuanced guitarist terminally influenced by '60s psychedelic rock, with Madeline Ridley, a goth queen who prayed to Jim Morrison and Syd Barrett almost as often as she slit her own wrists, throw in ace drummer David Winogrond (Skooshny, Davie Allen, Sylvia Juncosa) and ace producer Gary Stern, add astonishing cover versions of "My Eyes Have Seen You" (Doors), "Penetration" (Stooges) and a brach of vampiric originals, and you have this sleeping gem of an album. Fantastic instrumental improvisation nailed to a mesmerizingly gloomy vocal presence makes for an album that, if you haven't heard it, you really should be asking yourself why... [6/86] Greg Shaw Voxx caught the rebounding Sky on a four-song 1986 7-inch shared with soothing/scathing psych punks SS-20, whom the aging guru had first augmented/sabotaged (according to one's point of view) onstage during his unexpected resurgence in Hollywood in the early '80s, when he would climb up unannounced to join every single band of the then-popular garage contingent spearheaded by Greg Shaw's Voxx label and Cavern Club. Originally a kick, it quickly became a drag to the young Beatle-booted hipsters, and a band called Purple Electricity was cooked up as a stake through Sky's hollow heart. Featuring the McDonald brothers from Redd Kross and Primate Brian Corrigan on drums, the intent was to daze and confuse Mr. Saxon, as well as any sycophants still blindly following. Drawing heavily from familiar '70s metal tunes, the blatantly unrehearsed music of the March '86 show documented on Private Party is matched with a disconnected and distracted Sky, recorded in glorious walkmanorama. Just to cap off this travesty, all of the songs — including indisputable covers — are credited to SS Saxon. LP $18 SKU:2299

T2-IT'LL ALL WORK OUT IN BOOMLAND(UK POWER TRIO) - Label:ACME LION The rise of power trio T2 in 1970 was rapid: important open-air festivals; headlining residencies at the Marquee Club; appearances at virtually every major venue in London. Then their debut album was released; they seemed poised for a breakthrough. As the band recalled, they were playing the Marquee club, with John Lennon and Jimi Hendrix hanging out backstage, which was all to the good. But people were coming forward saying, 'we can't find your album anywhere.' In short order, the band fell apart. Still, their sole Decca album has become well established as an all-time classic amongst progressive and psychedelic music collectors—even the techno and DJ crowds. The fact that it has done so without hype is a testament to the innate quality of the music. The album is packed with melodic acoustic passages and frenzied fuzz guitar workouts, not to mention acid-trip induced lyrical and musical content. At the epicenter is the incredibly deft drumming of vocalist Peter Dunton (Neon Pearl, Please, the Flies), who rides the shifting sands of the trio's dense playing with ease and dexterity. By album's end, you’ve been lulled by the band’s soft side, and pummeled by their heavy side. Equal parts amazingly controlled prog, at other times the heaviest damn stuff anyone had heard c. 1970, this is truly a perfect record.•the perfect example of an album that should not be forgotten—an album that must not be forgotten!•40th anniversary edition with insert. LP $16 SKU:12802

TANGERINE- The Peeling Of great long-lost album from U.S. hard psych '60s band )..-Label:OUT-SIDER (Spain) The great long-lost album from U.S. hard psychedelic '60s band Tangerine, released in 1971. Musically in the style of Iron Butterfly or Banchee, with great fuzzed-out guitars, booming bass and screaming vocals, including "My Main Woman," a 14-minute long spaced-out track. Remastered sound from the original tapes.
- "The Peeling of Tangerine is a stellar, accomplished album. More than anyone, the band recalls a slightly heavier Santana; the music is full of Latin chord progressions, salsafied and tribal drumming and percussion, and Al Ferraro's beautiful guitar work, as well as some of the dynamics of early-'70s psychedelia and soul." --All Music Guide (4/5) LP $15 SKU:15492

TELESCOPES # Untitled Second (great psych shoegaze) 180 GRAM BLACK VINYL Label:BOMP The Telescopes were among the most innovative and challenging yet successful artists in Creation Records' "middle period", a leading part of the wave of sonic experimenters who included Spacemen 3, My Bloody Valentine, Spectrum and Spiritualized. Towards the end of their time with Creation, they made their most fully realized album yet, "#' (untitled second). This is the first time this great psychedelic album is being released in the US, and it comes with 3 bonus tracks. "The songs are built on acoustic guitars, then the tricked-out electric guitars are laid on top and garnished with bongos, organs, pianos, and all sorts of classic instruments. Stephen Lawrie's vocals are restrained and semi-emotional and female backing vocals add a touch of sweetness that might otherwise be missing from the record, as the overall atmosphere is very moody and introspective." - AMG LP $17 SKU:16704
