Phenomenal new arrivals!

Lots of private press reissues at great prices this weekend, you wont find these titles anywere else at such low prices. And a ton of restocks from our friends at GEAR FAB, check out all of their titles HERE.

In label news and gossip, ROCK AND ROLL lives on! If this story isn’t punk rock, I don't know what is, it’s the 70s all over again. Our boys Beechwood played their record release party in NYC the other night and it turned out that 14 plain-clothes cops were in the audience! They arrested Isa after the show. What major felony had been committed to warrant such manpower? It was for jumping the subway turnstile in 2014 and not paying the $100 ticket. Hey, at least they let him finish the gig, the cops even said it was really good... AND they sold 14 extra tickets. Rock on, BEECHWOOD!

And as always, more adds to the $5 and under and the $5 - $10 section, don't miss out!

Thanks!

Suzy Shaw

CRYSTALAUGUR -Terranaut (Ultimate 70s underground, lo-fi, psychedelic private press)-Label:OUT-SIDER Ultimate underground, lo-fi, psychedelic private press album recorded in Singapore by four US teens in 1975. Loose feel, raw sound, spacey prog /funk touches, sound effects and some proto-DIY, pre-punk vibes which bring to mind Velvet Underground or avant-garage 70s Cleveland bands like Pere Ubu but also hard-rockers ala Pink Fairies or Stray. Crystalaugur was formed by four young ex-pats attending school in Singapore in the early 70s: Howard Kukla, Kim Bengs, Bryan Hall and Guy Rittger. For most of them this was their first serious musical experience. “Terranaut” was recorded on a 4-track machine and subsequently released by the band in a private edition of 200 copies on their own Warped Records imprint. Bootlegged many times over the years, we present the first ever legit reissue of this “lost-in-time” psychedelic artefact. *First ever legit reissue done with the band’s involvement. *Insert with rare photos and detailed liner notes by Jeremy Cargill (Got Kinda Lost, Ugly Things), explaining the fascinating story behind Crystalaugur and debunking many myths and false rumours about the band and their only album. *LP housed in an old- school- style tip-on sleeve. *Featured in Hans Pokora's ‘Record Collector Dream’s book with the maximum scale rarity. “…Terranaut is a rollicking, rumbling and lightly ramshackle bomb of cosmic teenage hard rock informed by an infatuation with the early rumblings of progressive rock (given a proto-punk edge by the discontent of the group’s constituents).” Jeremy Cargill LP $19 SKU:19566

ERTLIF -Relics From The Past(Prev unrel. ’70s homemade recordings by Swiss prog /psych legends)Label:SOMMER Previously unreleased ’74–75 homemade recordings by Swiss prog /psych legends Ertlif. Raw, in–your–face hard–progressive sound with ultra–loud fuzz–wah guitar plus Hammond, Mellotron, synths, powerful (English) vocals. A great find for anyone into underground psychedelia. RIYL: DEEP PURPLE, ATOMIC ROOSTER, BLACK SABBATH, CRESSIDA, AINIGMA, NECRONOMICON, PACIFIC SOUND. In March 1974, Ertlif recorded some of their songs in the large reception hall of the Vogelsang schoolhouse in Basel. With these demo recordings, they acquired concert bookings and later that year a German record company offered them an album contract. In preparation for the studio they completed a demo recording of 'Edgar Flee'. In January 1975 they recorded the song in their rehearsal studio using the same equipment as for the March 1974 demo recordings. All recordings were made without overdubbing. Sadly, the record company went bankrupt before they made it into the studio. By that time, Ertlif were playing what they called symphonic rock with a strong emphasis on keyboards – two organs, Mellotron, electric piano and synthesizer. Together with a distinctive guitar sound, they had established their reputation as a highly creative band and this is what you can now hear on this album. *First ever release of these ’74–75 unreleased recordings by Ertlif. *Remastered from the original master tapes by Eroc. *Lacquer cut by SST Brüggeman *Insert with liner notes by band member Teddy Riedo plus rare photos and memorabilia. LP $19 SKU:19569

ETERNITY- ST (70s private label proto-stoner, hard-rock) w bonus track, -Label:GOT KINDA LOST (SPAIN) Originally recorded in 1979-1980, and released on a private label in 1981, many songs originate from an earlier period in the '70s, giving the release an "out of time" quality. Led by the confidant vocals of Wallace Stoneking and the "human-riff" creativity of Frank Monroe, Eternity created a groove-oriented, no-frills brand of hard rock, capturing the flair of their heroes existing a decade prior -- and within this set Wallace Stoneking tells of all the surreal interactions and experiences that colored their time together. This set is sure to please fans of '70s proto-stoner, hard-rock, "out of time" private press treasures, and your uncle who still drives that '72 Camaro. Recommended for fans of Blue Cheer, Black Sabbath, Nazca Line, Led Zep, Magi, Leaf Hound, and Stagefright. 24-bit remastering. Includes one bonus track taken from a non-LP 45. Got Kinda Lost Records -- named after the song by ex-Big Star founding member Chris Bell -- is the newest reissue imprint by the Guerssen Label Group. Curated by Jeremy Cargill (Assistant Editor for Ugly Things Magazine), the label's focus is archival and reissue work specializing in the realms of proto-punk, '70s pop/power pop, glam, psych, privately-pressed hard rock, and "out of time" treasures. If you're forever searching for lost treasures, and yearn for a time when hard rock was free of pretense, look no further -- Got Kinda Lost Records presents the wasted, basement hard rock of Eternity. LP $19 SKU:16174

Long instrumental / experimental tracks fuelled by Mellotron, Hammond, Minimoog, ripping distorted guitar and heavy drums. Kedama came from St. Gallen in the north-eastern corner of Switzerland, near the Bodensee (only a few km from Germany and Austria). LOVE MACHINE -Electronic Music To Blow Your mind By! 180 gram Killer exploito psych LP from 1968 -Label:WAH WAH ONE ONLY Killer exploito psych LP from 1968 by the Love Machine, "Electronic Music to Blow Your Mind By!!!" on the Design label. One of the harder-to-find exploito-psych albums with an absolutely killer psychedelic cover. The great thing about this album is that someone behind the controls seems to be trying out all the latest psychedelic effects - stereo panning, phasing and whatever electronic gadgetry they had left over from the last time Beaver and Krause blew through town. And so, if you can get past the fact that no REAL bands were involved here, this is still one heck of a BLAST to listen to! The Love Machine add in a steady stream of outer space synth and moog sounds, like some rejected soundtrack to an episode of "Star Trek" (the original one, kids, with William Shatner), all echoed and delayed in suitably "cosmic" fashion. LP $22 SKU:19560

LAS ANTORCHAS- ST ( 60s Mexican acid punk w liner notes, and a poster insert ) Paper mini slv replica - Label:ORFEON Las Antorchas were formed in 1965 by five college students in Mexico City. They released only one EP on Orfeon, but had recorded enough material for an album. They split around 1968/69, but after a line-up change they continued under the name of Antorcha. Thanks to the persistence of VAM Records and record producer Manuel Alvarez Valdez, we now have all known material of Las Antorchas, including their Orfeon material. Their early sounds are rock/beat influenced, with most relying on organ and vocals. But the excellent ‘Dime’ is a really great acid-punk track. Truly underground Mexican rock, waiting to be discovered. This edition has liner notes, and a poster insert that replicates the Orfeon EP art. The CD features 18 tracks in all – their famous EP, plus a host of great singles – with titles that include "Opus 14 Interior 12", "Dime", "Shake", "Confesion", "El Soldado", "Sabia", "No Lo Hagas", "Canta Conmigo", and "Substitute". CD $10 SKU:15118

MORAZ, PATRICK- Out in the Sun(MOODY BLUES)Label:TIME WAVE Swiss born Patrick Moraz is probably best known in rock music circles for his membership of two of the world’s biggest rock bands, Yes and the Moody Blues. He was also been a member of the progressive rock band Mainhorse, forming the band with bassist Jean Ristori in 1969 and releasing one self titled album in 1970. By the time of the release of Moraz’s debut solo album in early 1976, he was firmly installed as the keyboard player in Yes. Following the release of Relayer all the members of Yes embarked on solo projects thus ensuring that his “The Story Of I” received maximum coverage in the music press. He then released his second solo album in 1977 (“Out In The Sun”) before joining the Moody Blues. As can be deduced from the title the second disc on offer here is a pairing of the first two Future Memories releases gathered together on one release. As with all the albums in the Patrick Moraz reissue campaign, this album has been re mastered for release by Moraz himself from the original master tapes. (Time Wave) CD $6 SKU:19062

MOUNTAIN - Live At The Capitol Theater 1973-Label:VOICEPRINT This King Biscuit Flower Hour concert was recorded in late 1973 at the Capitol Theatre in Passaic, New Jersey. By this point, the band had been through many of the cliche rock band phases: the breakup, the side-projects, a reunion with new members. The short version of the story is that the band split up, and Leslie and Corky hooked up with former Cream bassist/vocalist Jack Bruce to form the supergroup West, Bruce and Laing, with whom they put out a number of albums. Mountain later reunited, but during '73, the band went on a Japanese tour without Laing, because of an alleged dispute between him and Pappalardi. CD $10 SKU:19516

PLEASURE SEEKERS- What a Way To Die w the Quatro Sisters (60s ) - Label:CRADLE ROCKS Digitally remastered with many never before released recordings! the original 60’s all girl rock and rollers who started a revolution. The Pleasure Seekers lived, played, partied, and rocked the music scene in the Renaissance era of the 60’s, when female musicians were looked upon as “novelty acts”. The Pleasure Seekers and the music they played gained the attention and respect of Detroit “male rockers”, as well as the legends of the era. In just under five years, the Pleasure Seekers toured extensively throughout the U.S., Canada, and the Far East, as a headliner, as well as being support for acts like the Yardbirds, Eric Burdon and the Animals, Joe Cocker, Alice Cooper, Procol Harem, Badfinger, MC5, Bob Seger, Iggy Stooge, and many others.
CD $16 SKU:16258

ROBBIE AND THEGEAR FAB WEREWOLF- Live at the Waleback (Bizarre 1964 monster inspired oddity)-Label:GEAR FAB OK, so here we have one of the weirdest and most bizarre albums ever recorded. Pretty much unsurpassed in its level of incredible strangeness, this ultra-rare album from the early sixties (1964) California coffee- house circuit is like no other. Robbie is a folksinger of the frantic variety with a fetish for monsters. This inspired some of the most bizarre songs ever committed to vinyl. It was at The Wale Back in LA one heady night in 1964, that Robbie's solo act was captured for posterity by engineer Reice Hamel, now renowned as a pioneer of live recording techniques. The patrons lapped up Robbie's act although some of the more faint-hearted may have experienced a frisson of terror as he prowled amongst them, sweat dripping from his beard, laughing maniacally, during his atmospheric 'Dracula' number. With his long red hair and matching beard, Robbie was a striking performer with a manic stage presence, acting out his songs as much as singing them. His set consisted of his original songs and uniquely reworked versions of folk standards, played on a beat-up twelve-string guitar. Robbie would later join The Brain Train in 1967 and his wife Barbara “Sandi” Robison would become the lead vocalist for The Peanut Butter Conspiracy (PBC) . Featuring liner notes from Alan Brackett of The PBC and UK collector extraordinaire Gray Newell. CD $10 SKU:19459

31 FLAVORS- Hair(Rare 60s psych -Label:OUT-SIDER (Spain) In the late 60s, a bunch of mysterious psychedelic exploitation albums were released by the budget Crown label in the US. Issued under different band names (The Firebirds, Underground Electrics, 31 Flavors…) , they were recorded by an anonymous group of studio musicians. “Hair” by 31 Flavors is the counterpart to “Light My Fire” by The Firebirds. Along with demented raw garage covers of “Hair” and “Aquarius”, it contains some of the heaviest, fuzzed out exploitation sounds ever committed to vinyl. You can hear echoes of Blue Cheer, Hendrix and Sabbath, featuring proto-doom, heavy-psych bombs like “Distortions of darkness” “One of the best of the psych-ploitation LPs, with more fuzzzz than a dozen 1971 private press hardrockers. Great raw live feel, wild playing and excellent fuzz riffs” -Patrick Lundborg (Acid Archives) LP $19 SKU:15775

POWELL ST. JOHN-Sultan Of Psychedelia (60s ACID ROCK )-Label:LYSERGIC SOUND DISTRIBUTORS (USA) Powell St. John is unquestionably one of the true founders and innovators of the acid rock sound. QUICK, BILL - MARAVILLOSA GENTE ( 70s obscure psych gem) -Label:TIME LAG Pressed on 180 gm audiophile grade vinyl, and limited to 1000 copiesDeluxe LP reissue of amazing little know gem (entitled “beautiful people”) from 1972. Born in Miami to an American father and Venezuelan mother, Bill split the USA and went to Madrid, Spain in the early 70s. Once there, he landed a recording deal with famous producer Alain Milhaud for the Explosion label, and set to work on this, his sole album. Sessions included an impressive cast of players in the studio, including Salvador Dominguez & Chema Pellicó (from Cerebrum), Jess Lam (Jess & James), and Frank Rojas (Sangre). One of the album’s real hidden treasures, though, was the assistance of unknown Texan Mark Gottschall, who co-wrote the title track and adds perfect vocal harmonies as well a second acoustic guitar. The album has an air of mystical psychedelia, and there's a real sun-blasted quality to it all that makes you want to crank the volume. The lyrics (all in English) feel deeply sincere; when combined with Quick’s unique voice, unusual accent, and loose delivery, it makes for one hell of a cool record. Reissued here for the first time, with the collaboration of original producer Milhaud. packaged in a heavy weight gloss coated exact reproduction of the original cover, including the original double sided insert, as well as a huge new full color foldout insert which reproduces at nearly full size the Brazilian version of the album art. Extensive notes by Salvador Dominguez, Mark Gottschall, and Alex Carretero (Guerssen Records, Spain). Art includes rare picture sleeves 45s, promotional inserts, lyric sheets; the LP labels reproduce the original psychedelic full color Explosion label art. LP $17 SKU:19296

ROBBIE AND THE WEREWOLF- Live at the Waleback (Bizarre 1964 monster inspired oddity)-Label:GEAR FAB OK, so here we have one of the weirdest and most bizarre albums ever recorded. LP $17 SKU:19481

SHAG-1969-Acid psych with insert with liner notes and photos -Label:OUT-SIDER SHAG was born from the ashes of garage band The Shags (of “Stop and Listen” fame). In the late 60s, they moved from Milwaukee to California, where they played at all the major venues and ballrooms, supporting famous bands like Jefferson Airplane and The Who. In 1969, the band recorded a demo at Pacific High Recordings in San Francisco, at the same time as the Grateful Dead were recording their classic “Working Man’s Dead” album there. The demo was in fact a fully finished album of bombastic psychedelia, acid-rock and proto-prog with loud fuzz-wah guitars, long tracks, crazy percussion and killer flute. Here’s the first ever vinyl reissue of these lost recordings. Master tape sound, insert with liner notes and photos LP $17 SKU:16281
