WOW!!! Guess what? The Fad are the best Mod band you've never heard - until now! In the early 80's, as Disco finally lay dying, Philadelphia was home to a score of bands that were performing a rapidly evolving style of Punk and New Wave music.

The Fad, a three-piece Mod/Power Pop group who often dressed in "Star Trek"-type outfits, playing original music rooted in the past, yet looking towards the future, were among them.

This CD is a collection of 12 of The Fad's original recordings from 1982-1985, including their original EP with the vocals at the correct speed - the way the band intended! They don't sound like they're from Philly - they sound British - and could have easily passed as one of the British Mod Revival bands that were around at the time (The Jetset and Direct Hits immediately come to mind). So what became of the members of the band once they split? Well, you may be pleased/surprised to learn singer/songwriter/guitarist Frank Max eventually surfaced as the leader of THE BEAT RATS! The Fad are FAB! GREAT!!
