CUSTOMER REVIEW!

played the Handsome Jack Barnburners CD at work today - as I'm in charge of the tunes in our Computer Lab - and it was incredible. Even garnering praise from the 'nons' in the room. My fave may be that Do It !! To It !! song. The background vocals added to the greatness. It is an incredible CD. A mix of an old sound & a fresh sound, heck, it's all fresh. Did I mention that it was really good? There were some parts where I really dug the drumming, which is usually overshadowed by the Guitar & Bass. The first side led me up the mountain, the B-side brought me home. I gotta check my Handsome Jack LP/CD status as I don't recall being bowled over like I was today. Let me hit places like Amazon and AllMusic to extol its greatness.

Give my Props to the Alive Gang, and to Handsome Jack. And to you. Good things don't happen by magic. This is as solid a record I've ever heard.

Handsome Jack, a roots rock trio from Lockport, NY, channels the spirit of classic American music into a sound that’s as timeless as it is electrifying. Drawing from the deep wells of rock n’ roll, R&B, blues, and old-school boogie, the band crafts songs that feel both refreshingly raw and instantly familiar—music that could just as easily be echoing from a backwoods juke joint as reverberating through a packed club. Their live shows are sweat-soaked affairs, fueled by Jamison Passuite’s soulful vocals and scorching guitar work, and powered by the tight rhythm section of Joey Verdonselli and Bennie Hayes.

Handsome Jack has earned a devoted following not just among fans but also among their musical peers. Legends of the road and studio alike—Chris Robinson as well as the late Neal Casal of the Chris Robinson Brotherhood and The Black Crowes, Zachary Gabbard of the Buffalo Killers and The Black Keys, and Ben McLeod of All Them Witches—have all praised the band’s ability to tap into the roots of rock n’ roll with passion and artistry.
