BARRACUDAS- What You Want Is What You Get (garage punk ) Label:NDN “What You Want Is What You Get” – Three minutes or more of squalling, screaming and kicking garage punk genius, flipped by “Somebody ‘05”, The Barracudas reinvention of their timeless “Drop Out With The Barracudas” classic, only this time, some 25 years later, the band is tighter, the playing is harder, and the attitude is more in your face. 45 RPM $5 SKU:12452

DRIPPING LIPS ( Damned /FLAMIN GROOVIES/ NICK CAVE- Such a Lot of Stars plus 3 pic slv- Label:NDN James' latest project, The Dripping Lips, features Scottish-born/Belgium-living Robbie Kelman on vocals, Nico Mansy (ex-Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds) on bass, and Paul Zahl (ex-Flamin' Groovies) on drums. The EP's first cut and title track, "Such A Lot Of Stars", is a beautiful and atmospheric, yet catchy song. Though "Such A Lot Of Stars", melodic as hell, still carries the signature Brian James edge, it's a bit of an unchartered territory for Brian, who gets to turn his guitar up louder on the B-side's first track, "Powerful", with its power chord grabbing you firmly by the throat from the very first rotation. 45 RPM $5 SKU:15813

PORK DUKES -CA PLANE POUR MOI- LTd to 100 copies, 10 different labels- Label:NDN This 3-track EP is released in celebration of the band's 40th anniversary. The tunes perfectly catch the band's trademark punk sound, which is comprised of snotty vocals, loud guitars and a meaty rhythm section. A fun-tastic Plastic Bertrand cover (with improvised spoken word intro) is joined by a sensational rendition of the well know 'Sabre Dance' and the song 'Loser'. 45 RPM $12 SKU:24969

SEMI TRUTH - You Call (Barracudas related ) pic slv. -Label:NDN this Semi-Truth single is the first new recording by ex-Barracuda heart and mind, Jeremy Gluck, in some 10 years. 45 RPM $5 SKU:12454

VINCENT, SONNY- Resistor PLUS 2- (high energy kick ass PUNK!)GOLD VINYL . Label:NDN Three new songs by this grizzled veteran. Sonny's three piece lineup kicks out the vintage punk jams here. Sizzlin' guitar and a raw sound with more than a hint of Detroit, adding a dose of speed for "Resistor" and "Bringing The Psycho Back Home". Sonny plays a mean guitar too." (Suburban Voice #44, 2004) 45 RPM $4 SKU:15814

APHRODITE'S CHILD - It’s Five O Clock (1969 pop psych)Label:WORLD PSYCHEDELIA (Korea) The first single, ‘Let Me Love, Let Me Live,’ released in October 1969, made it to a number one position in the French charts, but it was the B-side ‘Marie Jolie’ that was most popular in the rest of Europe. The title track ‘It's Five O'clock’ quickly followed the same path; released in December 1969, it did well in the charts of many European countries. Dream-like, baroque, carefully crafted pop/psych with English lyrics, in some ways very much in the style of English bands of the era, but with that little twist that makes it very special; three bonus tracks include rare singles; lyrics and photos too in the 16-page booklet. CD $10 SKU:18951

BOSSMEN - Personally Yours: The Complete Anthology w liners, rare photos, booklet. -Label:LION Liner notes by Dick Wagner + reflections on the Bossmen by Bo White and Ryan Sparks ,Massive color booklet with rare photos, Limited to 500 copies.Dick Wagner and his guitar. The Frost. Ursa Major. Lou Reed's "Rock 'n' Roll Animal". Alice Cooper's "Welcome to My Nightmare". Kiss. Aerosmith. Peter Gabriel. Wagner's contribution to rock 'n' roll is immense. And it all started a little bit north of Detroit with the Bossmen. In just three years (1964-67), The Bossmen amassed an impressive run of no less than eight regional number one singles. When you listen to these eighteen original compositions you can sense the long hours and the countless amount of blood, sweat and tears that went into creating them. Whether it's a stinging guitar solo (the sonic blast of an intro on 'Sunshine' comes to mind), a regal four part vocal harmony or a soaring arrangement, each tune bears the distinct early characteristics of the ‘Wagner’ sound that would later bring him success on a global scale and write him into the annals of rock ‘n' roll history. "I look back on the days of The Bossmen with a sort of reverence. These were my first days of recording my own original songs, entering the concert scene and learning the basic trials of making it in the music business. I get chills even today just thinking back on the two or three block line that formed every time we played our home town venue, Daniel’s Den. The Bossmen were the heroes and purveyors of the primal Rock energy for that angelic group of screaming youth. MAN… those were the days!" —Your Boss man, Dick Wagner • Liner notes by Dick Wagner + reflections on the Bossmen by Bo White and Ryan Sparks CD $10 SKU:15879

CONCRETE RUBBER BAND -Risen Savior(Official reissue of this insane underground basement psychedelic rock album, a massively-rare 1974 release)Label:HIDDEN VISION BIzarre burbling electronic embellishments find unity with abundant fuzz guitar, organ, and male and female lead vocals. A very strange rock album (in the best way), which just happens to have religion as its subject. "Official reissue of this insane underground basement psychedelic rock album, a massively-rare 1974 release on the Missouri-based American Artists label (AAS1164), of which only two or three copies are known to be exist in private collections. The song titles reveal the Christian undercurrent, but don’t be put off by that (if such a thing would be off-putting for you): this is a very strange and unusual rock album which just happens to have religious undertones, replete with organ, fuzz guitar, male and female lead vocals and masses of electronic embellishments—arguably more akin to Debris or Intersystems than anything else. The label says this about it: "Some of the most ‘out there’ psychedelic sounds can be found on this Kansas trio's mega-rare custom LP. The song, ‘Christian,’ for example, opens with a Bach fugue before laying in its steady rock beat punctuated with subterranean wah-wah guitar and a wild, heavily modulated lead. The song, ‘Wicked,’ opens side two with a bizarre amalgam of what sounds like synthesized, bubbling lava pits, frequency oscillations, distorted, sci-fi vocals and shortwave, static patterns. This is psychedelia at its most underground and extreme, with all the ear marks of a bad drug trip which, given the songs dark subject matter, works just fine. Likewise, ‘What Shall We Do?’ opens with a lengthy outpouring of some of the most vicious, distorted, fuzz guitar ever then relaxes into a spooky, dream-like ballad before it climaxes with a flying saucer effect that sounds straight out of Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon.” There are several fine and moody garage tracks here as well. The overall impact is difficult to describe: the songs are highly listenable and quite creative. Dense echoes add to the homemade feel of the entire project. Duncan Long, the main man behind the synths, guitars and song writing is now a published science fiction author, which explains a lot, we think. CD $10 SKU:26057

DEVIL’S KITCHEN BANDBeen A Long Time Coming, Be A Long Time GonE (late 70s S.F. psych)Label: Covers their entire rambling, gigging, rubbing-shoulders-with-a-multitude-of-famous-bands in the legendary San Francisco psychedelic scene of the late 1960’s existence. Duplicates only one track from the Lysergic Sound LP release of the band’s recordings, one of our best sellers here at Lion Productions… which means eleven recordings get their debut on this disc! "Devil's Kitchen Band was a four-piece rock and roll band that lived and performed in San Francisco from the spring of 1968 through the summer of 1970. They were the “house band” at Chet Helm’s “Family Dog on the Great Highway,” opening for, and often jamming with, many of the most well-known groups of the times. They performed at all of the major West Coast venues from San Francisco’s Fillmore to L.A.’s Whisky A Go Go. This CD is a collection of live recordings from 1969 and 1970 in San Francisco and is an attempt to give the listener the feel of being at a show at one of the venues of the times. The tracks were recorded on different days, in different halls, by different engineers. We have remastered these tracks to sound as much as possible as if they were all recorded the same evening as a coherent set of live music. We hope you enjoy this set of twelve songs from the late 60s San Francisco by one of the very talented but little known bands of the era. Peace, Love & Music, from Devil’s Kitchen” Legendary stuff, available at a crazy low price, in the least expected format in this day and age. So why hesitate or wonder? DIAMONDBACK -1974 (1974 blues tock rarity)Label:PACEMAKER Diamondback were a short lived blues rock band whose album from 1974 was never actually released....until 2008! This album is a gem and the song, 'One Track Open,' is a funky track that deserves to be heard. Diamondback featured Toronto legends Mike McKenna (Mainline, Luke and the Apostles, Ugly Ducklings) and Scott "Professor Piano" Cushnie. "Diamondback was an ambitious project I got into after Mainline finally folded in 1974. It involved alot of very talented musicians and I always felt we really played well together. We used to play in and around Toronto on pretty well a regular basis for awhile. We recorded a great album back then but somehow it was never released and the band members ended up drifting onto other projects. I felt I did some of my best playing on those sessions and the songwriting and vocals were really strong – everyone’s performance was stellar. It was too bad that “Diamondback ’74” never hit the shelves." —Mike McKenna CD $10 SKU:26195

FOUR LEVELS OF EXISTENCE - ST LTd edition SAALE! ( 70’s Greek psych, 24 page booklet, rare photos best Greek psychedelic album ever recorded?? ) -Label:PACEMAKER A twenty-four page booklet includes historical background on the Greek music scene of the early 1970’s, details of the band’s past written by Alatas, rare photos of the group, as well as lyrics in both Greek and English. This second CD edition is strictly limited to 1,000 copies.Slightly revamped second edition of an album that many people consider to be the best Greek psychedelic album ever recorded, a belief that would mean that the Four Levels of Existence LP would supersede albums by artists like Axis, Aphrodite’s Child, Socrates, and George Romanos. We’ll let you decide the argument, for there is no doubt of one thing—that this is tremendous hard edged psychedelic rock, originally released on LP in a very small quantity by the private Venus label in 1976. HOLY GHOST RECEPTION COMMITTEE #9- Collected Works ( 22 psych tunes sure to blow your mind! ) Label:VOID/HALLUCINATIONS RECORDS Twenty-two cool, raw, psychedelic songs with a Christian twist that are sure to blow your mind. These boys were going to Catholic High in the late 60's, dropping acid, and listening to the Beatles and the Byrds. The Holy Ghost Reception Committee No.9 were a band of young kids bored with regular Catholic hymns. While secretly listening to The Beatles and The Byrds while their parents were asleep, they came up with the idea of singing religiously inspired music with a modern music rhythm. This idea took off right away amongst other young people in their area, and even was accepted by their pastor, who ended up getting them a deal to record their music. They released two albums, both great garage/psych albums. One of the best examples of what Christian psych can be. Both Holy Ghost Reception Committee LPs ("Songs For Liturgical Worship” and “The Torchbearers” — both released in 1969) — on one disc. CD $10 SKU:25248

The Pleasure Seekers and the music they played gained the attention and respect of Detroit “male rockers”, as well as the legends of the era. In just under five years, the Pleasure Seekers toured extensively throughout the U.S., Canada, and the Far East, as a headliner, as well as being support for acts like the Yardbirds, Eric Burdon and the Animals, Joe Cocker, Alice Cooper, Procol Harem, Badfinger, MC5, Bob Seger, Iggy Stooge, and many others. SIXTING MUSIC- Rendering Pink Floyds (Obscure French-only Pink Floyd covers!)-Label:Skyf Zol Obscure French-only Pink Floyd covers album gets an outing on CD; as the label says, “It was only natural that the budget/knock-off record market would venture into the vaunted world of progressive music. And so, sometime after the release Dark Side Of The Moon, musicians of suitable competency were hired, cover songs were selected, and the art department went to work on something eye-catching and only a little deceptive. Not surprisingly, six of the eight tracks are aimed squarely at the Meddle/DSOTM heads, leaving just enough room for a slowed-down ‘Apples And Oranges’ and the tossed-off instrumental ‘Red Phone. ST. JOHN’S GREEN- ST (L.A. 60s psych GREEK pressing ) w liners -Label:ACID SYMPOSIUM Strange Kim Fowley produced psychedelic opus—'canyon music' as this Los Angeles area group might have described it; strange songs about the fires of hell and spacemen from Venus with some anti 'flower power' songs and stoned sounding jams that show why they were touted by Fowley as the next 'in-thing'—they weren't, of course, but a strong album all the same CD $10 SKU:18973

TIN HOUSE- ST (70s powerhouse rock) w liners, rare photos, insert plus pic slv EP -Label:LION There's a vibe within the grooves of Tin House, which makes it sound fresh even 46 years after its initial release. This relatively obscure power trio from Orlando, Florida were admired and approved of by Johnny and Edgar Winter, and Leslie West was also a fan. Comprising ten juicy tracks and clocking in at 34 minutes, Tin House is a roller-coaster ride through hard and heavy blues rock blasters and gentler twists and turns, all executed with individuality and excellent musicianship. High testosterone levels fuel the frenzy of pile-driving opener 'I Want Your Body,' with its naff lyrics taking a back seat to the full on proto-metal assault. It's a killer track, and not the only one. 'Silver Star,' with the opening line "Ride a crimson horse through the depths of hell," exudes more class than all-out bombast, with hints of Cream and Mountain shining through the darkness. 'Be Good and Be Kind' is another belter, as is ‘Jezebel,' while the semi-acoustic ‘Tomorrow' shows a mellower side, as does the lush string section on majestic closer 'Lady of the Silent Opera. Early-70s American hard rock albums don't get much better than Tin House. Floyd Radford is the star of the show with his tasteful playing, soloing, riffs, textures, and overall tone. Had he not been poached by the Winter brothers, who knows what kind of future Tin House would have had? LD — Classic Rock magazine, March 2017 CD $10 SKU:17823

UNRELATED SEGMENTS-Where You Gonna Go (66-75 Michigan proto hard rock)Label:CICADELIC RECORDS Sixties punk, garage, moody sounds and proto-hard-rock of the highest order! Complete recordings (1966-1975) of this legendary band from Michigan, including their three killer 45s plus unreleased recordings and alternate takes. Master tape sound, insert with photos and liner notes. The Unrelated Segments created some of the most celebrated garage-punk anthems of all time. Tracks like “Cry, Cry, Cry” with its teenage-angst vocals and out of control fuzztone guitar break, “The Story Of My Life” with that bizarre and ultra-punk bass line or the moody-punker “It’s gonna rain” have been included on countless garage comps (Back From The Grave, Acid Dreams, Nuggets, etc) and have been covered by numerous bands who worship them as 60s punk Gods. Sadly, the band never got the chance to record a full album. After three outstanding 45s, they recorded a projected fourth single that never saw the light of day, just when the band had changed its name to U.S and had started playing in a heavier vein, similar to early MC5. Soon after, the band split up and some of their members formed psych-rock band Lost Nation. On this collection, along with their official 45s and alternate takes / rehearsals, you’ll find the unreleased 45 from 1969 plus some demos recorded by an unnamed post-Unrelated Segments / Lost Nation band in 1972. An amazing find which shows the band playing pure Detroit high-energy hard rock! “The Unrelated Segments emerged from the same downriver suburbs that had produced the MC5, and their suburban mutation was almost as unique. Singer Ron Stults had an unforgettable style somewhere between punk snarl and Brit erudition and the songs he wrote with lead guitarist Rory Mack were catchy and substantial” – Ben Edmonds (Creeem, Rolling Stone, Mojo CD $10 SKU:22973

VINCENT, SONNY- P.I.N.S. (Ltd ed DBL CD with 40 page booklet, 3D plus glasses. W OFFSPRING, DAMNED, MC5, BLONDIE TELEViSION, DEAD BOYS, DOLLS, ETC ) Label:NDN “His music - urgent, raw and wild. A great songwriter with something to say. I am a fan!” (Joey Ramone (RIP), The Ramones) Sonny Vincent (vocalist, guitarist, songwriter) has come a long way since starting his circle in 1976 with “Testors”, a seminal New York City punk band. The musicians backing Sonny up on "P.I.N.S." include Captain Sensible, Brian James, Wayne Kramer, Richard Lloyd, Noodles, Bob Stinson, Scott Asheton, Arthur Kane, Clem Burke, Rick Ballard, Cheetah Chrome and Scott Morgan. The artwork is done by the one and only Marc Rude (RIP). CD $10 SKU:12461

ZOOT MONEY-Transition (LOST 70S PSYCH GEM)-Label:RIGHTEOUS An excellent album! Featuring the same players who were in the Big Roll Band (including future Police guitarist Andy Summers) on all tracks, Zoot Money came up with this tip-top set, which has soulful ballads, up-tempo mod material and a couple of dreamy sitar numbers written by Summers; 'Soma' inspired Summers and Money to push the boundaries and encouraged the band to wig out further, and in a state of psyche-pop bliss, they decided they were so far out of the Big Roll Band sound that they should change their name to Dantalian's Chariot. They played shows with the Pink Floyd and featured a couple of the tracks from “Transition” in stranger incarnations; Dantalion’s became a cult classic in the process, but turned their existing mod following off and failed to ignite. After the Dantalion hiatus, “Transition” was finally released (in 1968) on the Direction label; by that time, the mods had embraced the psychedelic bug and the album slipped into obscurity, and became one of those buried treasures that is talked of but seldom actually even seen. Finally, this lost gem has made it to CD. Remastered from the original quarter inch tapes, with all of its glorious sweeping sounds, aching vocals and groovy upbeat tunes intact, it's the epitome of cool. CD $10 SKU:19014

COME BACK BIRD- ABILINE Texas Teen Scene 1965-67-Label:CICADELIC RECORDS There were vigorous garage band scenes all over the U.S. in the mid-'60s as young musicians, inspired by the British Invasion sounds of the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the Yardbirds, the Who, and the Kinks, picked up electric guitars and had at it, usually resulting in music that was more about attitude and approximation than it was about originality or skill. Abilene, TX had such a scene, and this fun set collects four of the region’s most popular garage outfits, the Chevelle V, the Livin' End, the Continentals, and the Coachmen. Of course, being Texas, there was also a lot of Buddy Holly bubbling under these bands’ singles, too. Highlights here include the Chevelle V’s 'Come Back Bird' (there are three versions of it collected here, of which the original single version is the best) and their version of the surf classic 'Koko Joe'; the Livin' End's sizzling takes on ‘Roadrunner,' 'All Alone' (essentially 'I’m a Man' with different lyrics), 'My Destination' (a fuzzed out near-cousin to the Beatles' 'Day Tripper'), and the Who-like 'Makin’ Time'; and the Coachmen's reverb-soaked 'Hush Broken Heart'. Nothing here is much different than the garage sounds happening elsewhere in the country at the time, and nothing here rewrote the history of pop and rock, but it’s fun all the same.” —AllMusic review by Steve Leggett COMP CD $10 SKU:24534

GAIETY RECORDS STORY- VOL.2 (Rare 60s garage, punk & psych singles) SALE! Label:PACEMAKER At last, a second collection of rare singles from the label that produced the cream of the mid-sixties crop of Canadian garage, punk, and psychedelic music! The Gaiety roster was rich in talent (the 49th Parallel, Jarvis Street Review, and Souls of Inspyration, not to mention the Checkerlads, White Knights, Dewline, Tomorrow's Keepsake, NRG, Merriday Park, and Portland Street South)—but it was not rich in resources, which is why these singles are so incredibly rare. This second Gaiety Records volume has twenty-four tracks in all, ranging from the ferocious punk psych of Solid Reputation’s ‘Lies’ to the wonderfully druggy (and truly demented) ‘Ode to a Cucumber, A Berry, and A Flower", a song that deserves to be in the pantheon of weird psychedelia right alongside the West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band’s ‘Help, I’m a Rock’. NRG’s UK psych-inspired ‘Magic Man,’ much in demand in collector’s circles, is here in all its glory—along with six other tracks by this underrated band, including the psychedelic groover ‘Withcraft’.Other highlights are four more terrific beat/pop songs from the Plague and Lexington Avenue (bands who would become better known later as Jarvis Street Review). Tracks by the Checkerlads, Tomorrow's Keepsake, Flying Colours, Portland Street South, round out the disc, and (we hope) bring pleasure to everyone. COMP CD $10 SKU:16069

GIVE US A FUTURE - The History of Anagram Records 1982-87Label:ANAGRAM Give Us A Future - The History of Anagram Records 1982-87: First time on CD for this comprehensive round up of the influential Anagram Records. Anagram Records was started by Cherry Red Records in 1982. At that time the Cherry Red label had a very distinct image and a new label was needed to release records by harder edged Punk and Goth acts. Another 14 of the tracks on this compilation also entered the Independent singles chart. Many of these early tracks have never been on CD and are much sort after by collectors. The bumper CD booklet contains a listing of the entire Anagram Records catalogue as well as an extensive history of the label. BARRACUDAS- ST (POWERPOP ltd ed OF 100 color vinyl) -Label:NDN As a cursory look at radio playlists and cult whisperings will attest, The Barracudas reappearance after so long could not be better timed.
