OFF THE WALL- VA Vol. 1 (PEBBLES style 60s Psych / Fuzz)180 GRAM SAALE -Label:PAST AND PRESENT Perhaps since Off the Wall, Volume 1 came out at a time when there were very few '60s garage compilations other than those in the Pebbles series, its quality was considerably higher-rung than most of the several thousands of garage comps to follow in the next few decades. OH CANADUH ! PART 1 -90s surf, punk and garage rock bands covering Canadian New Wave Hits of the late 70s and early 80s - Label:LANCE ROCK Oh Canaduh is an LP of 90s surf, punk and garage rock bands covering Canadian New Wave Hits of the late 70s and early 80s. What makes it better than so many 'cover' LPs is that rather than just looking at one act - Link Wray or Sam The Sham, for example - where the choice can get a bit thin, there is an opening up and the opportunity to cover one band's best song. And there are a lot of best songs on this brilliant record. I'd love to hear all the originals. TRACKLISTINGS ON SITE COMP LP $10 SKU:14773

POCO LOCO IN THE COCO #3- VA ultra-rare gems extracted from 45s and 78s released in the '50s and early '60s by obscure record labels -Label:UNIVERSITY OF VICE (SPAIN) University Of Vice presents the third volume of the craziest compilation of music from all over the world. This comp collates a worldwide mixture of painfully obscure crud-a-phonic dance craze platters from the '50s and '60s. A brilliant and bonkers concoction of exotica and international nonsense novelties. If you need something new to listen to after you've worn out yer Las Vegas grind and jungle exotica records, then this is for you and will liven up any party. Lurch-eriffic tropical crazes and totally daffy mix-n-match foreign language tracks that'll make your eyes and ears pop just like corn. Long live the University Of Vice. Artists include: David Melanio, Joe Quijano, Doc & Les 6 Jets, The Goyo's Cats, Sonny Scott, Tito Benito, The Warriors, Carl Stevens, Caney Orchestra, Chino Herrera, Comparsa De La Laguna, Eddie Kochak, The Mogambo's, and The Journeymen. SCHNITZELBEAT Vol 2 -You Are The Only One (Raw Teenage Beat & Garage Rock Anthems From Austria 1964-1970) Label:DIGATON Raw Teenage Beat And Garage Rock Anthems From Austria 1964-1970'. The artists compiled on this collection translate the air of unrestrained abandon transported by the newly emerging popular genres into their own, locally flavored idiom: Teenage Beat and Garage Rock made in Austria, 1964-1970. Presenting internationally operating epigones of Austrian underground sound of the 1960s (THE SLAVES, THE GAMBLERS) alongside recently re-discovered trailblazers of independent production (THE LOST GENERATION, THE EARLS), 'Schnitzelbeat Vol. 2' is the first compilation of its kind to pay respect to the wilder side of home-grown Austrian teenage sound of the 1960s in all its diversity. You'll find instro rock smashers, beat ballads, straight-up rhythm'n'blues pieces, jangling, folksy harmonies, savage proto-punk blowouts, and, of course, the off-the-wall appropriations of well-known international beat hits that often provided ambitious amateurs with the jump-start they needed to get their own sound up and running. PAGANS - STREET WHERE NOBODY LIVES 77-79- Label:DANGER BW WHAT'S THIS SHIT CALLED LOVE? Of all the bands that burst out of Cleveland in the mid- to late-'70s punk explosion, one of the most unjustly ignored was the Pagans. Despite breaking up in 1979 (they, however, reunited several times since), these grimy bohunks played fast'n'loud piss-and-vinegar garage rock that valued alienation and, at times, extreme bad taste. Led by the honking rasp of Mike Hudson and the rapid-fire guitar of Mike "Tommy Gunn" Metoff, the Pagans never played it safe, nor did they enter the rock & roll wars wanting to win any friends. And this, ultimately, was a good thing, for like their pals the Dead Boys, their anti-star pose and carpe diem attitude meant that their best songs (and there are quite a few) sound as if they were set to auto-destruct at the tune's end. Although their don't-give-a-damn attitude lends itself more than once to some sexist japes and homophobic ranting, the Pagans ultimately didn't care who they offended. In fact, listening to any of their vintage material (1977-1979), you'd think that offending everyone was their artistic raison d'être. 45 RPM $10 SKU:17951

PAGANS -SIX & CHANGE (1977 RECORDING)-Label:DANGER Official reissue of the first Pagans' single. Originally released in 1977 on Neck. You ain't no punk, you punk! Don't sleep, 500 only! "So atonal, amateurish and damn great. Two chords and the talent to sing out of tune. You didn’t need more then that to form your very own punk rock band. And The Pagans realized that. Can’t think of a single record released in 1977 that sounds more PUNK then this. You know in the sense how it was portrayed in the media and conceived by the masses. The Pagans released some seven inches after this that where miles better but then again concidering it was done in 1977 all by themself…" (kbdrecords) 45 RPM $10 SKU:18388

PICCADILLY CIRCUS- DO YOU FEEL IT (Previously unreleased 1967 garage rock)Label:MY MIND'S EYE BW /TILL YOU GET TO THE TOP Previously unreleased 1967 garage rock with an incredible urgency from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio. This single was originally planned for a release on Rhamy's Discotech label, but things didn't materialize back then. The tapes were forgotten in the B-W vaults, until now! 45 RPM $14 SKU:18536

PSYKICKS - Beware the Psykicks (STooges MC5 70s punk style)-Label:ACTION LAST COPIES.The Psykicks are a rocknroll band. They were formed on October 2000 in Athens , Greece . Their influences are mainly the following: the Stooges and the MC5, 70s punk, 60s garage punk and surf and their 80s -90s revival and bands like the Velvet Underground, Radio Birdman, the Wipers, Sonic Youth and the Last Drive . Their live set ranges from 3-minute garage and motorcity punk explosions to long, chaotic improvisations. They also like to cover some of their favourite songs, from bands like the Stooges, the Real Kids, Radio Birdman, the Ramones, the Adverts, the Jam, the Undertones, Them, the Chocolate Watch Band, the Ronettes, the Shadows etc. 45 RPM $8 SKU:18787

RHINO 39- Xerox ( 70s punk) -Label:MUNSTER RECORDS (SPAIN) Then we put out a single by Rhino 39, named for a famous virus on the Lysol can. They were a group of high school kids from Long Beach who passed as a powerful and clever punk band. . . . Just really great kids -- demented and fun-loving in a way I admired. Their manic speed of delivery bordered on speed metal, but these kids had taste and talent to burn, and there was never the slightest tinge of hatred in their message." --David Brown 45 RPM $10 SKU:17612

While it does feature a horn and unbridled guitar heaviosity from a very young Mick Turner (Dirty Three, Venom P. This record received recognition in both Forced Exposure & Touch & Go 'zines at the time. Only approach if you like rock music & hallucinatory free range sounds." LP $12 SKU:12815

GRAPHITE -CHESTNUT LOKE (69 ACID FREAKS)-Label:AUDIO ARCHIVES Graphite was a spaced-out, progressive, acid-freak band that formed at Reading University in 1969. Between 1970 and 1974 the group made a bunch of recordings of its Mellotron drenched, cosmic prog-rock material. This is the first ever vinyl release of those tracks. This edition is pressed on heavy black vinyl and limited to just 300 numbered copies. LP $26 SKU:17288

GREEN RAY -HALF SENTENCES(West Coast trippiness Quicksilver/Grateful Dead style)Label:SUGARBUSH Limited to only a few hundred copies on green vinyl, this LP is sure to become a collector's item. Featuring Simon Whaley and co-featuring Ken Whaley (Help Yourself, Man, Tyla Gang), 'Half Sentences' effortlessly incorporates West Coast trippiness, recalling the best of Quicksilver, Jefferson Airplane and Grateful Dead, albeit the more rural and laid-back side of these bands. With guitars abound and songs stretching out to gentle meandering jams, this is a really nice album. LP $25 SKU:19115

GRUBERGER BROTHERS- Greetings From Reading PA - GIZMOS AFRICA KORPS Label:RERUN Mastered from the original tapes, and we even got Kenne Highland to give us his reactions to these recordings! Pressed in an edition of 500 on black vinyl, with full color cover and insert with liner notes. Jay and Solomon Gruberger were born to play music. They formed the legendary proto-punk/living room band O.Rex in 1973, when younger brother Jay was a mere 12 years old. Future Gizmos’ lead singer Kenne Highland joined the band for sporadic jam sessions in the Gruberger's Brooklyn home. Beating most punks to the punch, O.Rex managed to release a three song maxi-single on their own Oral Records in late 1976. By that time, Kenne was a member of the Gizmos as well as a full time Marine! Within a few months, Kenne and the Grubergers would meet Kim Kane of the Slickee Boys, and it was this meeting of the minds that would form the Afrika Korps. They immediately set about recording what would become their monster, 22 song debut LP. Music To Kill By was released to great critical acclaim in late 1977, but the Grubergers would soon part ways with the rest of the Korps. LP $10 SKU:15188

HAPPY KIDS - Play Their Own Songs - ltd to 300 copies SAALE -Label:GREY PAST Limited edtition 300 copies. It's a well-reported fact that The Happy Kids sneer at true musicianship. They are neither willing to compose, nor to play their instruments properly. Accordingly, at their live shows, they celebrate mass to plagiarizing whatever primitive ditty captures their attention. Ana Threat and Al Bird Dirt mangle their second-hand, second-rate equipment (a cheap, deranged Italian combo-organ and an off-key German Kaufhaus-guitar) accompanied by an audio cassette player that spits out pre-recorded beats at an inappropriate speed and volume. Yet, here it is: "The Happy Kids Play Their Own Songs"; twelve tunes out of which the duo claims the authorship of nine. The oeuvre perhaps wins through its repetitiveness (to put it mildly), which I presume Ms. Threat and Mr. Dirt understand is "art". Frankly, I do not know how they managed to assemble and record an entire album; let alone to persuade a prestigious record company - or even a third-rate pressing plant - to have it manufactured. Plus, I must admit, I am not exactly sure who on earth the producers expect to buy such a record. Still, I am delighted to file the album in my vast collection of contemporary "Rock music", as I am definite that there won't be any one like it to follow. Ever. For people interested in Suicide, the Seeds, The Cramps, DAF, Trio, Sonics, the Astronauts, Ramones, Throbbing Gristle. LP $15 SKU:13210

HARDY FRANCOISE- TOUS LES GARCONS ET LES FILLIES 180 GRAM GATEFOLD - (60s girl pop)Label:FUTURE DAYS Hardy was immortalized in 1964 in a poem by Bob Dylan, she associated with The Stones, and dined with Beatles Paul McCartney and George Harrison. She also soon gained more creative control over her music, and she now distances herself from these early recordings where this was not the case. “Even if I had been able to say something about the production,” she says now, “maybe I would have been listened to, but I didn’t know anything.”In the album’s title track, Hardy sang about being a soul in torment, and this is the Hardy that emerged–a complicated, pensive outsider, part pop singer, part chanteuse, and utterly unique. And she will forever personify a particularly French brand of cool.LP $16 SKU:17224

HARRIS,TONY -THE TONY HARRIS SONGBOOK 1965-69(Garage pop novelty)-Label: LICORICE SCHTIK 17 songs blending garage, folk, surf, pop and novelty in a delicious energy drink. Anthony "Tony" Harris is the son of Jack H. Harris, the famous movie producer of the original 1958 science fiction horror film 'The Blob'. Tony recorded a pair of fantastic 45s for a Los Angeles-based imprint called Dee Gee Records in the mid-60s. The 'Songbook' LP includes these two superb 45s and explores a brief moment of time in his career for the record industry. Following two records on Triumph in 1965, he became writer-producer for the L.A. based Dee Gee Records till its end in 1966. Harris then started to break into the soundtrack biz. In 1968, he signed with the VMC label and Duke Baxter's 'Everybody Knows Matilda' became his biggest success. The A side of this album is dedicated to the singer and performer and the B side to the producer and arranger. LP $18 SKU:18506

THE SERIES THAT INSPIRED THE ENTIRE GARAGE ROCK REVIVAL! In his review of the Pebbles series for Allmusic, Richie Unterberger comments: "Though 1972's Nuggets compilation reawakened listeners to the sounds of mid-'60s garage rock, it only focused on the tip of the iceberg. Behind those forgotten hits and semi-hits lurked hundreds, if not thousands, of regional hits and flops from the same era, most even rawer and cruder. . . . More than any other factor, these compilations [in the Pebbles series] were responsible for the resurgence of interest in garage rock, which remains high among collectors to this day." GERMS - Germicide- Live at the Whiskey 1977 180 gram -Label:BOMP Records Live at The Whiskey 77 We are seldom lucky enough to hear one of our favorite bands at the earliest state of development. In the case of the Germs, LA's most radical punk band, someone was fortunately on hand with a remote 8-track studio to record their very first gig. Part of Kim Fowley's 1977 "Punk Rock Weekend" at the Whiskey a Go Go, it's a rough, honest, eye-opening set, showing the Germs as they really were. Originally released in a limited vinyl edition in 1980, Germicide quickly went out of print, then was issued cassette-only by ROIR. Now on 180 gram vinyl for the first time in more than 15 years. GLASS FAMILY - Electric Band ltd ed of 250 DOUBLE LP reissue for fans of US '60s psychedelia - Label:MAPLEWOOD FANTASTIC DELUXE DOUBLE LP REISSUE TAKEN FROM THE ORIGINAL MASTER! DELUXE REISSUE. The Glass Family released their LP 'Electric Band' in 1968, an acid-, folk- and blues-rock album, with distorted guitars, swirling organ and dirty vocals, that since then has never been reissued until now. Along with a nice remastering of the original LP, this double vinyl package also includes a second disc full of never before heard unreleased tracks from their initial 1968 recording sessions. Standout tracks from the second disc that has a far rawer sound are 'Where'd You Get That Smile' and 'Two x Two' and includes an alternate take of 'House Of Glass'. Within the gatefold packaging of this double LP are unique band photos and a biography of the band's experiences in psychedelic 1960s Southern California. The Glass Family where a part of the 1960s cultural revolution playing gigs and hanging out with people who are now legends. A very relevant release for fans of US '60s psychedelia.

GRAVEDIGGER V - All Black & Hairy LTD ED of 150 CLEAR BLUE VINYL! (60 style Classic cave garage ) -Label:VOXX The one proper album the band released in its lifetime, All Black and Hairy is both perfectly named and perfectly performed -- if it's nothing but a re - All Black & Hairy LTD ED of 150 CLEAR BLUE VINYL! (60 style Classic cave garage ) -vivalist approach at heart, it's such a damn entertaining one that there's no cause for complaint. With its title track taken from the appropriately goonball back catalog of Screamin' Lord Sutch and its general snot-mouthed attitude from every last Nuggets and Pebbles selection ever, about the only thing missing are the lava lamps and garage stink. Saying the band uses the right combination of fuzztone guitars and echo and heavy frug rhythms is a bit like saying the sky is blue -- it's just one of those things to be expected -- but the sheer energy and abandon present keep everything from simply retracing the past to no point. Leighton's credit is for "lead screaming," and that about sums it up -- he's not so much singing as pulling off the ultimate teen-wannabe-Mick Jagger performance, only even more aggressively snotty. Ted Friedman's lead guitar solos with the right rave-up spirit and John Hanrattie keeps the core melodies going, while the Tom Ward/David Anderson rhythm section aims to get rears shaking instead of sitting. The album is half split between inspired originals (check out the concluding "Stoneage Stomp") and actual songs from the time, the latter resulting in fun versions of tracks like the Uncalled For's "Do Like Me" and Larry & the Bluenotes' "Night of the Phantom." About the only thing missing is the original studio recording of the band's best number, "It's Spooky," but anyone wanting a quick blast of '60s punk thrills filtered through later years could do much worse than to dig this one up. LP $18 SKU:16261

GREEN -ST (Ultimate reissue of 80s power pop classic !) Label:LION Green arrived on the alternative rock scene in the mid-80s, amidst a Chicago scene that included bands like Naked Raygun, Big Black, and Ministry. While Green bypassed the major label-express that other bands rode to fame and fortune, they continued to make records their own way, records which were lauded in the pages of Trouser Press, Spin, and The Village Voice, among others. And with each passing year there are those many who are convinced that their debut LP is worthy of those Mojo/VH1/Spin/ lists of the top 50 or 100 rock albums of all time. Green may be the bee’s knees for power poppers, but they deserve much more notice than that. They were an all-embracing band, with a taste for punk, glam rock and soul—and with the twitchy sort of energy that burbled around in the late-80s, pre-grunge underground (a little Feelies anyone?). It remains a mystery why so many other bands are fixed in the collective memory as the era's best; at the very least, Green should make a list of top obscure pop groups of all time! Color insert has band history and lyrics, plus many a fine photo, all courtesy of band leader Jeff Lescher.

GREYLOCK MANSION-ST (underground PSYCH 68 w 3 inserts) LION SOLD OUTLabel:Lysergic Sound Unother buried treasure of pure underground psychedelia: GREYLOCK MANSION, who emerged loudly from Tucson, Arizona in 1968. The band's sound (as heard on the opening track of LSD's best-selling "St. Albert's Dream" compilation) is powerful, deep underground psych with thick, dominant funereal organ and distorted fuzz guitar and effects, backed by heavy precise drumming. The Doors and Iron Butterfly influences are evident, and a touch of early Black Sabbath’s slow grinding sludge rears its head at times. Included are three inserts—a 4 page folder with pictures and text; a psychedelic poster w/lyrics; and a color reproduction of a poster from Unifest 1970 in New Mexico. LP $24 SKU:17972

HACIENDA - Big Red and Barbacoa ( prod by Dan of the Black Keys ) (YELLOW VINYL ltd ed last copies ) Label:ALIVE BIG RED & BARBACOA is the second album by South Texas' HACIENDA, and like its predecessor Loud Is The Night (Alive 2008), it was produced by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys. Recorded on the tail-end of a year playing clubs and festivals across North America, Australia and Europe (opening for Dan Auerbach and Dr. Dog, and more recently for Alberta Cross), this new album brings heavier grooves and flavor to the '60s harmonies sound the band is known for. The result is a blend of Tex-Mex roots rock, retro-pop and R&B that can only be described as South Texas Soul. BIG RED & BARBACOA captures the attitude of a band ready to throw pretension to the roadside and play rock'n'roll the way it was intended.[BEST OF WHAT'S NEXT - FEB. 2010] ...a mix of Beach Boys-esque harmonies, classic Stax Records grooves and a guitar sound that recalls the rootsier side of '60s pop-rock with its swirling melodies and irresistible swagger. - PASTE MAGAZINE...a slice of retro-pop heaven. These guys unapologetically wear their influences on their floral print sleeves, and thank goodness they do. - HOME THEATER AND HIGH FIDELITY LP $16 SKU:11391

Hackensack was a killer live band and 'Give It Some' is the first vinyl offering since 1974's LP 'Up The Hard Way'. Many of these gritty tracks were recorded to help secure a deal with Island Records, though back in the day that label only issued one single. LP $26 SKU:19377

MERRELL FANKHAUSER - a.k.a The Maui Album (1968 POP PSYCH WONDER) Label:OUT-SIDER (Spain) After his stint with Fapardokly, HMS Bounty and MU, Merrell Fankauser released his first solo album in 1976. Comprised of songs written a year earlier while Merrell and violin player Mary Lee were living in the jungle of Maui, this is a brilliant set of spiritual folk-rock and 70s orchestrated SSW light-pop The album was recorded at various Hollywood studios, initially sponsored by a producer from George Harrison’s Dark Horse label. In fact Harrison was so impressed with Merrell’s songs that he expressed interest in playing slide guitar on “Our Way To Hana”. Sadly, due to internal problems, Dark Horse backed off and Merrell found himself without a label to release the album. Finally, a couple of friends from Maui released it on the small Maui Music label. On the recordings, Merrell and Mary Lee were joined by several studio musicians, among them, drummer Bill Berg, who had played on Bob Dylan’s “Blood On The Tracks”. First ever vinyl reissue with tracks restored to their original running order and original artwork. Insert with in-depth liner notes by Jeremy Cargill (Ugly Things, Got Kinda Lost), presenting the most complete written story about Merrell’s musical career. "... It stands as a lost classic in Fankhauser's prolific catalog of work." – Jeremy Cargill (Ugly Things, Got Kinda Lost); “…Great melodic ‘70s psych. Merrell is joined by female violinist Mary Lee; she also was part of the earlier MU scene and lived with Merrell in a Maui jungle hut…– - Patrick Lundborg (Acid Archives) LP $18 SKU:16714

ALIVE AT THE DEEP BLUES FESTIVAL - BBQ SAUCE RED VINYL LTD. to 400 copies W Radio Moscow, Left Lane Cruiser , John the Conqueror and more. Label:ALIVE Color vinyl is exclusive to Bomp w/ download card (30 minutes of additional music) Alive At The Deep Blues Fest recaptures the loose and -spontaneous feel of live albums produced in the Golden Age of rock’n’roll.

The album was recorded live this summer at the Deep Blues Festival during three glorious (sold-out) days of great music, Southern-style BBQ and camaraderie between musicians, fans and friends alike, far from the corporate sterility of many larger modern music fests. Chris Johnson’s festival successfully revived the communal spirit of late ‘60s and early ‘70s music gatherings, evoking the vibe of a large summer picnic with family, friends, good food and great music.

BUFFALO KILLERS and RADIO MOSCOW turned in super heavy sets soaked in psychedelia and reverb, while LEE BAINS III & The GLORY FIRES fiercely ripped through their show with a blistering set of songs steeped in Southern rock, R&B, soul, gospel and punk. BRIAN OLIVE and his backing band melded soulful R&B with technicolor garage-pop for their early daytime set, while HENRY’S FUNERAL SHOE (the Welsh duo), LEFT LANE CRUISER and newcomers JOHN THE CONQUEROR perhaps kept closest to the Deep Blues curriculum with their respectively raunchy and heavily amplified modern interpretations of rural gutbucket Delta Blues.
Grab a copy of Alive At The Deep Blues Fest, invite a bunch of good friends over for some food & drink, and PLAY IT LOUD!

REMBRANDT RECORDS STORY:- OPEN UP YOUR MIND 1966-67 - PLUS+ 7 (60s garage psych) - Label:BREAK-A-WAY REMBRANDT Records, a Chicago based Garage and Psychedelic label of the sixties. After the first release by the Nite-Owls failed to chart, Rembrandt Records’ owner Reggie Weiss moved in a different direction. His next release, “Open Up Your Mind” by the Nuchez, merged pop with psychedelic music. The song was based on an LSD trip and response to the single was positive. Soon other psych and psych-pop singles were issued by The Circus, The Nickel Bag, and Monday’s Children. Cash Box magazine began plugging Rembrandt Records during the fall of 1966. By 1967, Weiss was devoting all of his time to promoting a high-school band called The Lemon Drops. He wrote another LSD inspired song titled “I Live In The Springtime” for the band. Unfortunately, the single was unable to chart, even regionally. Over the ensuing decades though, the reputation of The Lemon Drops, The Nuchez, The Nite-Owls and other Rembrandt artists has grown immeasurably. This compilation contains the most important singles sides issued on Rembrandt Records between 1966-1967, plus a number of essential previously unreleased versions that are appearing for the first time ever on vinyl. The fourteen recordings on this album make it apparent that Rembrandt Records was way ahead of its time when these treasures from the psychedelic 60’s were recorded. First 500 copies with 7" Single incl. two unreleased 1967 first time on vinyl recordings by the Nite-Owls. COMP LP $17 SKU:16555
