7SHADES-BURSTING(prog/punk/pop/psych )SAALELabel:SNAFU RECORDINGS The much anticipated second album from prog/punk/pop/psych pranksters 7shades. Crammed to the gills with all manner of melodic, harmonic and rhythmic deviance, this is a band that is clearly not afraid to venture into the lesser-travelled realms of maximalism. Self-professed devotees of the work of Tim Smith and Cardiacs, that inherited DNA is still in strong evidence throughout 'Bursting', but as a whole the album seems to be striking out in a myriad of other directions. Influences from Gong, King Crimson and Mike Patton are evident, for example, but it is far from being any kind of mere prog copycat affair CD $10 SKU:22630

The cd also contain a brand new track, "I evighetens nav". Energetic, straight-forward stoner rock with catchy hooks, heavy riffs 'n' grooves and charismatic 'n' powerful vocals sung entirely in their native language. It's obvious that they are influenced by vintage seventies hard rock in the vein of Swedisch progressive hard rock legend November. Abramis Brama are among the finest recent hard rock/stoner bands. Don't hestiate, cross the rubicon and experience an interesting sonic journey. CD $12 SKU:22340

AKBAYRAM, EDIP -DOSTLAR- NEDIR NE DEGILDIR? (70s Turkish fuzz) Label:PHARAWAY SOUNDS As Turkey's political factions turned more aand more violent in the late 1970s, Buscemi-eyed Edip Akbayram was nearly beaten up by rioting audiences for daring to sing about rural points of view that were naturally critical of Istanbul's political leaders. This second album of Anatolian psychedelia, originally released in 1977, showed defiance even in its gatefold art, with a drawing of the band members seeming to grow straight out the ground, covered in plant tendrils. Akbayram poached members of Mogollar and Baris Mano's Kurtalan Ekspres to get the best fuzz breaks and hammond slams & put 'em straight in your ears. The band also tried out some mixes that pushed the vocals or a particular instrument way up front, and of course long, low, reverberant welcomes from Edip's echo-covered voice. CD $12 SKU:20586

AMERICAN BLUES EXCHANG-Blueprints (Rare 1969 psych with a hard-edge blues sound)Label:GEAR FAB Featuring dueling guitars, harmonica, recorder & cowbell .The Connecticut band that released the great LP "Blueprints" in 1969; all 9 original tracks plus previously unreleased material from the 69-70 timeframe. Don't bother with the bootleg currently being peddled; it is of poor quality and just won't tell you the whole story of this great Northeast band!! Lots of never before seen photos and posters also!! CD $10 SKU:19004

ASTRAL SON - Mind’s Eye (Cosmic Dutch neo-psych ) Label:SULATRON The third album by Dutch neo-psych solo-artist Astral Son once again is full of cosmic soundscapes, progressing into psychedelic tracks with plenty of far-out elements. 'Minds Eye' basically sounds like a logical continuation of Astral Son's previous album 'Silver Moon' and is arguably (even) better! If you enjoyed this space cadet's first two excursions, you'll definitely love 'Mind's Eye CD $14 SKU:21564

BACCHUS –CELEBRATIONL abel:GEAR FAB Born out from the ashes of legendary Florida garage band The Tropics, Bacchus was a powerful psychedelic/hard-rock/boogie power trio influenced by Cream, Hendrix, Allman Brothers et al. BATORS, STIV-Disconnected (80s garage pop- Collectors edition w bonus tracks and alt cover)-Label:BOMP In December of 1980, Bomp released this groundbreaking album by Stiv Bators, recently (though never permanently) departed from The Dead Boys. It followed a series of singles for Bomp on which he had tried, with Frank Secich and various other players, to extend his range to include the kind of pop-garage that was his first musical inspiration. CD $15 SKU:16727

BATORS, STIV- L.A. Confidential (DEAD BOYS) Features a 24 page booklet with liner notes and rare photos. -Label:BOMP Records In addition to Disconnected, Stiv recorded a number of 45s during his days with Bomp, as well as some unreleased sessions, demos (including a never-released studio session with Jimmy Pursey of Sham 69 and members of the Runaways, produced by Kim Fowley!), recently unearthed studio recordings, and alternate mixes that remained in the can until after his death. Features a 24 page booklet with liner notes and rare photos CD $15 SKU:21941

BATORS, STIV- L.A L.A (DEAD BOYS FRONTMAN) Label:BOMP Records As the frontman for the Dead Boys, Stiv Bators terrorized audiences with his snotty, in-your-face punk rock style. But after the Dead Boys, Bators embarked on a musical journey that saw him touch upon new wave (the Wanderers), goth rock (the Lords of the New Church), and power pop (during a brief solo career), as well as a fling with movie acting. Born Steve Bator on October 22, 1949, in Youngstown, OH, Bators took a liking to garage rock and proto-punk early on -- a story he liked to tell is that it was he who handed Iggy Pop the jar of peanut butter that he smeared across his chest and threw around while walking on the audience during the Stooges' televised infamous 1970 rock festival in Ohio (additionally, Bators befriended the Ramones during the quartet's first Ohio performance). AMG CD $15 SKU:21942

Originally released by the German budget label Ken in 1971, The Blues Goes On may very well be be the strongest delivery from the trio responsible for those awesome early '70s Hendrixploitation LP's that were credited to The Live Experience Band. At last reissued on CD for the very first time, The Blues Goes On is the real deal, for exploito geeks and 'serious music lovers' alike!! The CD is presented in a cardeboard miniature LP-sleeve and features informative liner notes from renowned record collector and historian Hans von Seydlitz. CD $10 SKU:19655

CENTAURS -From Canada to Europe (mid 60s Canadian garage punk)-Label:VINTAGE TRAX The Centaurs were one of the top rock bands to come out of Vancouver Canada in the mid 1960s. With their long hair and bad boy image, they were way ahead of their time in both their sound and style. They left Vancouver seeking fame and fortune and ended up in Holland and Germany where they quickly rose to the top of their game, sharing the stage with some of the biggest groups of the day and gaining thousands of adoring fans. The tracks represented here are high quality studio recordings from 1966 transferred from the original analog master tapes, plus a few live bonus tracks recorded in 1967 in Amsterdam, Holland, just to give the listener a feel of the period from the band's own perspective. Fans of '60s garage/punk music will greatly appreciate these never before released tracks, remastered by award winning mastering engineer Stephen Marsh in Los Angeles CD $14 SKU:20911

CHRISTOPHER - ST (1969Texas Psych) -Label:GEAR FAB GREAT PSYCH! Another one of Texas' wealth of interesting late '60s psychedelic bands, Christopher came together in 1968 in the Houston area. The 1969 Self-Titled LP from the Houston, Texas band which featured Richard Avitts on Guitar and Doug Walden on Bass and Keyboards. All 10 tracks from the LP plus the true story of the band as told by Richard & Doug!! This is Psychedelic music much in the style of Cream and Jefferson Airplane!! CD $10 SKU:24452

CRYSTAL SYPHON- FAMILY EVIL/ ELEPHANT BALL (SF 60s)Label:GEAR FAB Comes in an old-style “tip-on” jacket with a digital download. Plying their trade in the fertile San Francisco scene of the late '60s, Crystal Syphon's name was only known to aficionados through viewing copies of old SF gig posters and through the index of bands at the back of Ralph Gleason's book on the rise of Jefferson Airplane. Then both their studio and live 1967-1969 archival recordings were discovered that replaced the imagination with true grooves in 2012 and 2015 with the release of 2 LPs on Roaratorio Records. Trying to find comparison with other Bay area bands from that era has proven a bit fruitless as they don't specifically evoke any of the heavy hitters of the era. They have a bit of a dreamy, stoned vibe with some great harmonies and some have compared their style to Quicksilver Messenger Service (John Cipollina was their idol!!) as well as H.P. Lovecraft. As with so many bands of the era, the draft, time and declining fortunes signaled the end of the band. There is some great guitar work alongside the Farfisa organ in the extended jams, and fans of the west-coast sound should delight in these recordings. CD $14 SKU:23863

DOUGLAS FIR -HARD HEART SINGIN (Classic heavy 70s rock)Label:GEAR FAB Their classic 1970 LP, recorded in the great Pacific Northwest State of Portland, Oregon. ELDERBERRY JAK - Long Overdue (1970 Hard Rock/Psych classic )Label:GEAR FAB The great 1970 Hard Rock/Psych classic from this long-lost West Virginia band!! Lots of never before seen photos too!! CD $10 SKU:19002

FEO-BEDSTE PÅ DEN FEDE MÅDE (Danish hippie-folk from the early '70s,) SAALE! Label:KARMA MUSIC Danish hippie-folk from the early '70s, sounding a little different than most Danish bands of the era, due to the baroque influences. These 24 tracks compile Feo's albums from 1971 and 1974, entitled 'Eg Meini Tedh' and 'Filtskolyd'. If you fancy genuinely charming and beautiful folk tunes with excellent acoustic guitar playing and gentle flutes, and you don't mind Danish vocals either, this one's for you. CD $14 SKU:21214

FERRIS WHEEL-SUPERNATURAL GIRL(1974 UK's rarest stoner-folk)Label:AUDIO ARCHIVES This is a re-mastered CD of one of the UK's rarest stoner-folk albums. CD $12 SKU:21840

GLASS MENAGERIE - HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN WHO WE ARE?
-ANTHOLOGY 1968-69' (psych)Label:TIME BOX The Glass Menagerie emerged in the late 1960s, in the Lancastrian backdrop of Burnley in the north of England. A move to London in 1968 led to a handful of singles with Pye before changes within the band marked a new chapter under Chas Chandler. A rapidly changing music scene and a lack of investment eventually took its toll on the band who split at the tail end of the decade. From 1968 to 1969, they recorded five singles, and various sessions for Top Gear, Saturday Club, and host Brian Matthew. The majority of songs from these live sessions, would be heading towards their unreleased album. Have You Forgotten Who We Are? presents a missing link in the British psychedelic phenomenon, and provides a precious glimpse into the world of "Frederick Jordan" and what might have been. Professionally re-mastered original sound recordings with a handsome 12-page booklet with expansive liners, interviews and rare memorabilia. CD $22 SKU:21830

GNIDROLOG- In Spite of Harry’s Toenail w bonus tracks and booklets ( 70s Brit prog ) -Label:AUDIO ARCHIVES Newly remastered from the original master tapes and features a previously unreleased bonus track, a booklet that fully restores all original album artwork with a new essay. CD $10 SKU:15480

HORDE - Press Button Firmly (mid sixties rare garage ) w 4 bonus tracks -Label:BREAK-A-WAY Rarest 60s garage album by North Carolina students from early 1967. Painstakingly remastered at KSL. Undoubtedly the most exciting mid sixties garage album to be recently discovered in the genre, is that by The Horde from North Carolina. The existence of this self produced album came to collectors ears and eyes only about a year ago. It was recorded more or less accidently in early 1967, released in a micro quantity of only 25 copies and among the local US garage albums of the decade it is one of the few eclectic examples with all the ingredients that makes it outstanding compared with the usual prep-school albums of the time. It contains a blend of exciting originals and well chosen, inspired covers, played in a raw, crude and frantic style. If ever it were true that the over-used assertion that a band's cover versions measured up to the originals, then it is true of The Horde. Why? These five 19-20 year old students from all over the United States did not only blaze a trail for 60s rock in then conservative North Carolina, they also had a general attitude that finds its origins in the young peoples mindset of the mid-sixties that put them outside of the local mainstream and gained them a sort of regional underground popularity. CD has 4 bonus tracks. CD $12 SKU:15346

KILLER BOOGIE -ACID CREAM (early '70s-influenced fuzz psych)-Label:HEAVY PSYCH SOUNDS (ITALY) The second full-length serving of tasty, early '70s-influenced retro'n'roll, enriched with loads of fuzz and mind bending psychedelia, from the Italian outfit! CD $14 SKU:19731

LANDING- THIRD SIGHT (rural psych 70s style) SAALE! Label:EL PARAISO Connecticut's Landing have specialized in a mild and rural kind of psychedelia for almost two decades. 'Third Sight' - recorded specifically for El Paraiso Records' Impetus series - builds on the hallucinatory soundscapes of the band's earliest days. There's a unique sense of motoric drift to these four long pieces, and an or-ganic blend of rock instrumentation and analog electronics that brings to mind Eno's best 1970s collaborations. But the group's flair for fuzzy drones and new weirdsy commune-folk also betrays their affiliation with the experimental American east coast scene - playing shows with Bardo Pond and releasing a split EP with Windy & Carl among other things throughout their career. CD $10 SKU:21560

LOVE MACHINE (USA)/RAJPUT & THE SEPOY MUTINY --ELECTRONIC MUSIC TO BLOW YOUR MIND BY/FLOWER POWER SITAR (1967 exploito psych)...Label:GEAR FAB Here we have two very rare exploito LPs from back in 1967. In mini-LP cardboard sleeve format, this features some wild instrumentation!! CD $10 SKU:21719

MC5- American Ruse - WAREHOUSE FIND -Label:TOTAL ENERGY Found a few of these kicking around the warehouse from long ago and far away! The American Ruse is comprised mainly of Back in the USA studio outtakes with and without vocals, rounded out by “I Believe To My Soul” and the totally out-there ”Black to Comm” from “Dialogue ‘68.” It may not be suitable to throw on during a party, but you can test people’s knowledge of MC5 lyrics with impromptu karaoke sessions. I’m serious: just try to sing along and you will soon have even more respect for Tyner’s vocal prowess as you realize how tightly on a dime he had those lyrics nailed—especially “Teenage Lust.” CD $20 SKU:20235

Crawford’s “What Is Zenta?” and well, what more could you ask for? (Besides the tracks they left off Kick Out the Jams, the pre-Landau run-throughs at Elektra of “Human Being Lawnmower,” “Call Me Animal” and “Teenage Lust,” I mean…) ARTHUR MAGAZINE CD $20 SKU:20236

While you may expect cheesy orchestra music it's actually the rawest, dopest and wildest psychedelic groove one could imagine. Stomping breaks, haunting spooky organ sounds and wet swampy bass lines from the very beginning to the last groove, completed with some strange sci-fi sounds and stereo FX. The LSD was certainly flowing richly during these sessions! CD $10 SKU:21727

Painstakingly re-mastered from the only surviving acetate, you get long, tripped-out tracks with an early Hawkwind feel, toughened by dark vocals that combine to make this a cosmic-doom classic. Highlights include the atmospheric 'Ice Maiden', the spaced-out 'She Paints Strange Pictures' and their notorious tour de force, the lengthy three-part 'McAlistairess Phantoms'. Plenty of rare band shots, items of memorabilia and detailed sleeve notes included in this long lost forgotten classic. CD $10 SKU:21108

OUTSIDERS (UK) --CALLING ON YOUTH (1977 glam punk)-Label:1972 Before fronting classic post-punk group The Sound, Adrian Borland was a Wimbledon teenager enamored of Iggy Pop and the Velvet Underground. With friends, he formed The Outsiders. In 1976, they home-recorded 'Calling On Youth', a searching full-length that straddles nihilo-punk argot as well as smudged glam balladry. Its release in 1977, on the group's own Raw Edge label, with Borland's cityscape abstraction on the cover, marked the first independent punk full-length in the United Kingdom. 'Calling On Youth' announces Borland as more than a precious teenage bandleader. The nervous introspection, wiry leads and negative space that he would refine solo and in The Sound, Second Layer and Witch Trials glistens throughout 'Calling On Youth', beckoning rediscovery. LP $22 SKU:24520

After that, the group has released several singles, EPs and appeared on a number of compilation albums on the British Fruits de Mer label. SILVERBEATS -ST-underground neo-psychedelic punk steeped in Pebbles-era rock . BLACK VINYL PURPLE STICKERLabel:RTAI/LION First reissue of rare cassette-only underground neo-psychedelic punk steeped in Pebbles-era rock, from this Milwaukee band which featured Dan Mullen (Plasticland) on guitar and the talents — songwriting and otherwise — of iconic underground maven Tess (James Tessier). ‘I Want Speed’ shows The SilverBeats’ affinity to West Coast psychedelia. And it’s no coincidence that they cover the Human Expression’s ‘Calm Me Down,’ rich with harmony vocal, and The Pretty Things’ ‘Midnight to Six (Man),’ replacing the original’s rough R ’n’ B-edge with a slight psychedelic tinge — a real showpiece for drummer Mike Hughes. Another killer is ‘Over And Over,’ penned by Tess (like all the other originals on this album). It layers beautiful, trippy guitar, a catchy vocal melody, lots of echo, strange effects, and weird sounds before it closes, and we move on to the jolly, jumping ‘Love Comes Knockin.’
Comes with an 8-page booklet featuring a description by journalist David Luhrssen of the Milwaukee underground music scene which produced Plasticland, Daszu, the band Ör, and the Violent Femmes, among others.

•Lion exclusive: 150x hand-numbered copies on Transparent Coke Clear vinyl
•Comes with an 8-page booklet featuring an overview of the Milwaukee underground music scene by David Luhrssen. The first time I saw the SilverBeats… the band took the cramped stage at the window near the front door. Fronted by James Tessier, who appeared to be the missing link from The Standells, the band’s sound was simple, fuzzy and perfect. These cats were no strangers to reverb. Tess’ original compositions came to life with electrical transmissions from Dan Mullen’s lead guitar. The primal garage rock sound of ‘Over and Over’ was balanced by Tess’ soft-spoken vocals. ‘You Did Here Wrong’ could have been plucked from any top shelf album of lost nuggets. ‘In the Sound Room’ points to endless possibilities of mind expansion. This is the good stuff. LSD before it was cut with strychnine." — Blaine Schultz
