NEW ARRIVALS

WE THE PEOPLE -You burn Me Up and Down (66 garage)Label:OKTAY Deadly '66 garage double-sider! This beautifully pressed seven-inch single pairs two of the greatest tracks by Florida's We the People: the savage, feedback-laced punker 'You Burn Me Up And Down,' and the transcendent psychedelic garage classic 'In The Past.' A-side mastered in high fidelity mono from a mint copy of the original Challenge single, B-side from the original master tape. Tommy Talton wrote the A-side, which he describes as "raw hormonal rock. Discovering sex and love and volume! Written when I was rebellious and discovering the power of music." The B-side, written by Wayne Proctor, features him playing an exotic, Eastern-style instrument called the octachord for a sitar-like effect. It was later covered by the Chocolate Watchband. Limited edition of 500 copies featuring repros of the original Challenge labels in a cool OKtay company sleeve. 45 RPM $15 SKU:22922

COLLINS , PAUL BEAT - KIDS ARE THE SAME (NERVES / BREAKAWAYS )-Label:COLUMBIA Paul Collins Beat’s second album followed in the footsteps of his brilliant debut to rave reviews, an apathetic record company and a clueless public. Despite featuring some of his greatest songs – “The Kids are the Same,” “On The Highway,” “Dreaming,” “I Will Say No” – Columbia Records dropped the band as they toured relentlessly while “On The Highway” poured out of FM radio airwaves across the country and the newly launched MTV channel aired the videos for “The Kids Are The Same” and “On The Highway.” CD $15 SKU:22904

BALDUIN -LOOK AT ME I'M YOU (PSYCH POP ALA Beatles, Beach Boys, early ELO) Label:SUGARBUSH Limited to only 300 copies on vinyl, this is the latest psychedelic masterpiece from Switzerland's psych genius Balduin. Beautiful English tinged psychedelia that could have come out of the 'Sgt. Pepper' sessions at Abbey Road or maybe Syd Barrett's own twisted take on '60s pop? Anyway, fans of 'SF Sorrow', 'The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn', Beach Boys, Donovan and Tomorrow will lap this up. If you have missed The Dukes Of Stratosphear for 30+ years then look no further! This album is a lovely continuation of that classic sound and the original songs and covers are well chosen and near-immaculate. So limited that it will, in time, become a psych rarity on vinyl, so don't miss out! LP $28 SKU:22815

BANSHEE(USA)-LIVIN' IN THE JUNGLE (fired up fury of The Stooges, MC5 & Alice Cooper)-Label:CARDINAL FUZZ Hailing from Boston and blazing red hot cinders through your eyes Banshee channel widescreen, kick out the jams m*therfuckers psyche-rock-a-rama with a singer doing his best to channel both Alice and Iggy. Yes they rock like crazy and play with the fired up fury of The Stooges, MC5 and The Alice Cooper Group as they let their freak flag fly. On 'Livin In The Jungle' Banshee detonate over 11 tracks of pure diamond arrangements that will lay you out flat and have your head swirling from the whallop of the sleazy voodoo racket that Banshee have created. Informed in equal parts by the intensity of '60s Detroit and The Alice Cooper Group and with a rhythmic underbelly the calls on in parts the funk explosion of WAR. From the opening Intro of 'Genesis' amid a barrage of bells, chimes jungle sounds and a group feeling the funk they lay straight into 'The Law' where without missing a beat and over a blast of guitar riffs, dive bombing bass lines, thunderous drums and a voice that spits out and caterwails with a vengeance you find Banshee freewheelin' into what will become your favourite rock'n'roll LP for 2020. The engine has started and the whole record is executed at a breakneck pace that is a furious rollercoaster ride to sweet oblivion. On the final epic sprawl that is 'Caged Birds' which starts out with a garage like Sister Ray bump'n'grind chug before descending into a glorious meltdown of fuzzed up wah wah guitars and glockenspiels before everything finally fades back into the jungle. 'Livin In The Jungle' is one rabid rock'n'roll animal of a record. Limited to 500 copies on coloured vinyl. LP $22 SKU:22824

PYRAMID - ST (SPACEY KRAUTROCK)-Label:MENTAL EXPERIENCE •Digital download card. •Insert with liner notes by Alan Freeman (The Crack In The Cosmic Egg, Ultima Thule). •“…from trippy phases with echo guitars and Mellotron onto headfirst plunges into space-rock overdrive territory. In all, an excellent album of spacey Krautrock” – Alan Freeman Thirty-three minutes of pure, unadulterated, psychedelic Krautrock courtesy of PYRAMID: an obscure studio project produced by Toby Robinson aka The Mad Twiddler. These sessions were recorded circa 1975-76 in Cologne for the underground Pyramid label, which was operated by Toby and his friend Robin Page (the Fluxus artist). During that time, Toby worked as engineer and assistant at various studios in Cologne, including the famous Dieter Dierks studios, where most of the albums from the Ohr/Pilz/Cosmic Courier catalogue were registered. Having access to the studios during dead hours, Toby recorded lot of sessions just for fun without any commercial interest, featuring friends and musicians who frequented the studios and the underground art/music scene of Cologne. Some of these sessions were later relesed as hand-made vinyl micro pressings on his Pyramid label with help from artist Robin Page. LP $25 SKU:22833

SICK ROSE-Chapter One(:80's garage-punk)-Label: SCREAMING APPLE Considered to be one of most important 80's garage-punk bands alongside the CRIMSON SHADOWS, the STOMACH MOUTHS and the GREEN TELESCOPE Europe had to offer, they were arguably even the first european act to have the impact globally in the same manner as The CHESTERFIELD KINKS and The MIRACLE WORKERS.
"Chapter One", a collection of all their long outta print 45s and other rarities they've released between 1985 and 1987. Remastered by Mr. Tim "Back From The Grave" Warren in 2016. LP $21 SKU:22812

VICKERS- Ghosts(late '60s/early '70s psych style)Label:INNER EAR 2020 album of Italian psychers The Vickers. 'Ghosts' is a perfect example on the combination of late '60s/early '70s psychedelia with the punch of the best of the '90s. Comes on a limited edition of clear vinyl. LP $22 SKU:22819

VIRUS -Revelation- PIC DISC 1970 KRAUTROCK/psych-Label:GARDEN OF DELIGHTS Virus' debut is one of those albums that perfectly defines the Krautrock genre as we know it today: a mix of psychedelic, hard rock, and a secret ingredient, to be whispered about in the dark halls of the murky and mysterious underground. Sure, the title track includes a take on The Rolling Stones' 'Paint it Black' among it's twelve minutes, but why not? that song was crucial to the European psychedelic underground with its Eastern jam cycle motif. If you're looking for loud acid guitar, flute, and jamming organ with tribal drumming, and stoned vocals, you have come to the right place. That might be why people liken this album to early Pink Floyd. It gets freakier as it goes; by the time you get to 'Nur noch Zwei Lichtjahre' with its foreboding German narration, you know you have found ground zero for the entire Zeitgeist. This isn't the cosmiche Krautrock of Ash Ra Tempel or Sergius Golowin, Cosmic Jokers, etc. But if you're looking for the hard rock portion of the Krautrock cathedral, you found it here." Includes two tracks from a 1970 single as bonus tracks LP $24 SKU:20929

NITWITZ - DARK SIDE OF THE SPOON (1978 Stooges/MC5/Ramones style) -Label:GET HIP Founded in 1978, the young band barely caught the dissipating ripples of the first punk rock wave. In taking their lead from groups like the Stooges, MC5, the Ramones and Australia’s Saints, the Nitwitz had little in common with the angry, unwashed masses of English spiky-tops who sang about “the dole,” depression, and gang warfare. (Although they had a definite fondness for a few fast-riffing exceptions like the Lurkers, Drones, and Stiff Little Fingers.) Instead, the 16-year-old Nitwitz waxed poetic about girls they liked, girls they didn’t like, school, their favorite TV cartoon show, and getting beat up by disco kids. CD $10 SKU:22756

POP RIVETS-FUN IN THE U.K (1977 punk) -Label:GET HIP The Pop Rivets came together in England during 1977 along with the punk wave that was then sweeping the music scene. And there’s no denying the riff rocking prowess of the Byrdsian “Love Will Grow” and the psychedelic snarl of “Jumping To Conclusions.” Top notch ressue here with interesting liner notes and this reissue also includes 5 unreleased bonus tracks. CD $10 SKU:21868

THUNDERS, Johnny--Diary of a Gypsy Lover 23 TRAX ALTERNATE STUDIO CUTS,LIVE,RADIO)?Label:SONIC Punk rock guitar hero, earning a cult following for his noisy but epic style a few years before the insouciant new music gained its name. Following in the footsteps of his idol and role model Keith Richards, Johnny Thunders (born John Anthony Genzale, Jr.) lived the ultimate rock & roll life, spending most of his days churning out tough, sloppy three-chord rock & roll and gaining nearly as strong a reputation for his decades-long struggle with addiction as for his music. Thunders made his greatest impact as a member of the New York Dolls, the proto-punk glam rockers of the early '70s. During the late '70s, he was a familiar figure on the New York punk scene, both with his band the Heartbreakers and as a solo artist. Thunders performed and recorded steadily until his death in 1991, turning out a series of records that inadvertently documented the struggles of his life and his art. CD $10 SKU:20428

ELECTRIC FUNERAL-The Wild Performance -Ear-splitting hard-rock / proto-doom-metal from the early 70s!DBLLabel:SOMMER Ear-splitting hard-rock / proto-doom-metal from the early 70s! double LP version; includes download. Ear-splitting hard-rock/proto-doom-metal from the early '70s, Electric Funeral were a pioneering Swiss hard-rock band who sadly never registered any studio recordings at the time. Formed in the late '60s by Edi Hirt (drums), Pierrot Wermeille (bass), Alain Christinaz (guitar), and Dominique Bourquin (vocals), they were influenced by bands like Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, and Led Zeppelin. Famous for their loud (they played behind giant stacks of Marshall amps) and powerful shows, their sound was too heavy-sounding for a regular label to offer them a contract. The Wild Performance is made of private live and rehearsal tapes recorded in 1970 -- very raw and lo-fi -- but it's the only testimony of their brutal sound. First released in 1991 as a limited LP, this is an expanded edition with newly remastered sound and four killer bonus tracks, taken from reels and tapes recently found in the band's archives. These tracks were also recorded in 1970 except for "My Destiny", which dates to 1973. The sound is still lo-fi but slightly better than the original tracks, especially on the killer "You Can Help" (proto-punk á la Electric Eels), "My Destiny" and the alternate version of "You Can Help". RIYL: Black Sabbath, Iron Claw, Edgar Broughton Band, Moses, Sainte Anthony's Fyre. Includes insert with rare photos and liner and notes by Klemen Breznikar (It's Psychedelic Baby). LP $25 SKU:20957

HEAT EXCHANGE- Reminiscence(70S HARD ROCK/PSYCH) Label:OUT-SIDER (Spain) "Formed in Toronto, Canada, in the late 60s, Heat Exchange are known for their three fantastic 45s for the Yorkville label - released in the early 70s - on which they mixed hard rock with psychedelic, heavy progressive andfunk-rock sounds. So it was a major surprise to discover that in 1972, the band recorded more stuff with the intention of releasing an album. But in the end, the deal fell through and only four of those tracks were released as part of their 45s. Soon after, the band disbanded. Luckily, the band members have kept a copy of the master tape all these years. So, here’s for the first time ever the complete Heat Exchange studio recordings, including their three 45s plus the previously unreleased recordings they did for their never released LP in 1972. Fabulous UK sounding heavy progressive and psychedelic hard rock. Top level musicianship, well constructed songs, powerful vocals, sax, flute, wah-wah, Organ, solid rhythm section…*Insert with detailed liner notes and photos, including an introduction by Rich Sheppard (After The Sabbath); *LP includes digital download coupon. LP $25 SKU:18453

MOONRISES -Frozen Altars(avant psych) -Label:CAPTCHA Moonrises is the brainchild of Plastic Crimewave (a.k.a. Steve Krakow), Libby Ramer and Ben Billington. Their tremendous sophomore album "Frozen Altars" absolutely destroys the competition in the ring of avant-psychedelic bands. Wrap your bad-trip damaged brain around an album that continues to reinvent and expand with every rotation. Experience intense flashbacks of 1960's British pysch and 70's krautrock. Envision the sounds of the Soft Machine, the Dead C. and This Heat trapped in a droned-out noise chamber. Tiny Mix Tapes calls them "the newest addition to Chicago's vibrant psych scene, and they take you way beyond your average wanna-be psych band. Some of the best psych music you will hear, yep (Moonrises) will pretty much amaze you. " Don't hesitate, you will want to be the one telling your friends to take this trip.”"Most psych bands build massive walls of guitar, but the focal point of Chicago trio Moonrises is organist Libby Ramer, whose whimsical leads owe as much to prog superstars Keith Emerson and Tony Banks as they do to blues-rock icons Ray Manzarek and Jon Lord. Ramer's position in Moonrises' spotlight is especially remarkable because the band's other two members are both highly visible guys-about-town: Plastic Crimewave, aka Steve Krakow, fills the few gaps in the dense swirl of organ with his freak-out guitar squall, and Ben Billington of Tiger Hatchery and Quicksails provides the jumpy drumming. Between the sprawling arrangements and the trapped-in-a-well vocals (by Krakow and Ramer), their songs are easy to get lost in—they're like soundtracks to traveling deep into a forest or to the bottom of the ocean.” LP $14 SKU:22503

Comes with newly remastered sound, plus an insert with photos and liner notes. LP $25 SKU:16168
