NEW ARRIVALS

CWT -Hundredweight (1973 Brit heavy rock) Label:OHRWASCHL RECORDS/KUCKUCK (Germany) The only album from this English heavy rock trio, released on Kuckuck in 1973—one of the heaviest acts on the label. CWT Guest musician Cy Payne is responsible for the brass arrangements, which gives CWT a very special sound; apart from the fantastic guitar and vocal work of Graham Jones, the brass section gives CWT a Motown Soul touch, a real heavy groove. All in all, it makes "The Hundredweight" an interesting album with some faster and softer points. Tracks like ‘Steam Roller’ are devastating, filled with the hardest riffing and rough vocals. It might be accurate to compare CWT with bands like Sir Lord Baltimore or Cactus: they are of a same class, so to speak, and all liked their basic heavy blues rock LP $19 SKU:20784

Between 1975 and 1978, Liberman self-released three albums on his own Librah label which were some of the first private pressings to gain recognition amongst psych collectors in the 80s. For his third album, released in 1978, guitar wizard Jeff Liberman incorporated to his heavy guitar psych style some cool cosmic funk, soul-jazz andA.O.R influences. MANÇO, BARIS -Nick The Chopper (King of Turkish psych/Anatolian rock)Label:PHARAWAY SOUNDS •Newly designed artwork. •Insert with photos and liner notes. Second proper studio album – originally released in 1976 – by the king of Turkish psych/Anatolian rock. Recorded in Belgium with help from session musicians related to Placebo, Janko Nilovic and Mad Unity among others, Nick The Chopper features lyrics in English, huge orchestral sections, and re-arrangements of many of the melodies from his masterpiece “2023.” Barı spent his whole life trying to communicate to the wider world outside Turkey. This was his last attempt at doing so with an album before turning to a travel television show to visit faraway places and talk to the young and old, one on one. Every production trick of the glorious 1970s was deployed to push Barı up the European charts, and now they can push him right into your brain instead LP $19 SKU:20788

MARCANO,PAUL , & LIGHTDREAMS 10,001 Dreams (1982 cosmic pop psych revelation ) DOUBLE Label:GOT KINDA LOST “…stretching our understanding of pop-psych and bursting our tiny minds with visions of unfound landscapes, [10,001 Dreams] is thee underground psychedelic masterpiece from Canada…”—Aaron Levin (Weird Canada) A thematic sequel of sorts to the sci-fi psych odyssey exploring cosmic ideology that was the British Columbians debut— LP $28 SKU:20789

These youngsters from Colorado formed in 1964 and they were famous for driving to gigs in a custom Cadillac hearse. Between 1965 and 1968, they released a bunch of singles for labels s.a. Chicory, Denco, Liberty. This retrospective collection includes the best of their 45 sides, plus some tracks that are previously unreleased on vinyl. MOOG, EMILIO APARICIO MOOG- Expansión Galáctica(Rare 1969 psychedelic/electronic)-Slight corner ding bargain! Label:MENTAL EXPERIENCE *Insert with rare photos and liner notes by Ruffy Tnt (Discodelic) “ In 2010, I was searching for old records in the city of Quetzaltenango in Guatemala. I found myself in a dusty basement which had been in another time the warehouse of Iximch, a rock-o-la machines distributor. It was an exciting discovery, two big rooms full of old 45s but also dust and rats dung. Among some incredible finds, I found two strange private 45s which had been released by local drink company. The song titles, Brujera (Witchcraft) and Transmutacin del iniciado (Transmutation of the Initiated) matched perfectly with the abstract psychedelic/electronic instrumental Moog sounds emanating from the grooves. I was fascinated and I knew I had a mission: to discover and tell the world the story behind Emilio Aparicio Moog. After seven years, I finally managed to locate all of his recordings, eight in total. Ruffy Tnt (Discodelic)Emilio Aparicio was an electronic experimental musician from Guatemala, a pioneer in using the MOOG synth in Latin America. He released a series of private 45s, recorded at his home studio in collaboration with his patron and producer, the painter RobertoAbularach. In 1969, Roberto travels to New York, where he purchases one of the very early models of the Moog synthesizers directly from Robert Moog. He brought it back to Guatemala and he gave it as a present to his friend Aparicio. It is during those years, 1969-1971, when the recordings included here, featuring primitive drum machines and the Moog synth, are registered. Most of the tracks were written at the country house of Abularach, where Emilio built his own home recording studio and where he spent long periods of seclusion. It is in this house where they also spent weeks experimenting with hallucinogens (LSD and Datura) in the company of other artists, painters, poets and musicians from the underground arts scene of Guatemala. MUNEHIRO NARITA - Psyche De Loid (the original psychedelic speed freak)Label:NEW RECORDS Munehiro Narita, the original “psychedelic speed freak”, is for many people the undisputed king of acid-fuzz guitar. In active since the late 70s, Narita is a Japanese psychedelic underground legend. After playing in cult bands like Kyoaku no Intention, he founded the brutal heavy-psych power trio High Rise in the 80s. His furious guitar playing, which involves lethal doses of fuzz-wah at ear-splitting volume, can also be heard on his current band Green Flames (featuring Mitsuru Tabata from Acid Mothers Temple). In 2014 Narita released a Japanese only CD titled “Psyche De Loid”, doing heavy guitar fuzzed-out covers of classic psych songs from the 60s/70s. But “Psyche De Loid” was also the first ever psychedelic album recorded using the Vocaloid technology. Very popular in Japan, Vocaloid is a software / singing synthesizer: you enter the lyrics of a song into the program, add music, and then you can have one of the Vocaloids – or “Vocal Androids”, mostly female - sing for you in a bizarre “android” type vocals. Previously available as a Japanese only CD, here’s the first ever vinyl edition with new artwork. “One of the finest acid-punk shredders to ever walk the planet, Munehiro Narita gives these time-honored psych rock classics a serious kick in the ass, in the most bizarre and Japanese of musical settings" – Steve Krakow (Galactic Zoo LP $22 SKU:20792

PARADISE SQUARE -Never Thought I’d See The Day Rare 70s GALACTIC RAMBLE FAVE)-Label:SOMMER Singer/songwriter Pete Ryder was a key player on two of the most rare and sought-after private folk albums from the UK: Paradise Square and Cair Paravel. Paradise Square was his first project, a group formed at Sheffield University’s Christian Union in the early 70s. In 1974, the band released their only album as a private pressing of 100 copies (five stars in the Pokora book). Fragile, homemade lo-fi psychedelic folk with acoustic guitars, violin, delicate male-female vocals, Xian overtones and hints of Incredible String Band or Dando Shaft. Remastered sound, repro of the original insert plus liner notes by Richard Allen (Shindig!). “Positively gorgeous UK acoustic folk private from the same team responsible for the Pete Ryder and Cair Paravel albums. Delicate dual acoustic guitar work andsoft male/female vocals define the group’s sound, combining to fashion a fragile melancholy presence. Periodic glimmers of respected artists like Presence andWater Into Wine Band. A five-star record and one of the most impressive entries from the whole UK progressive folk scene." —Ken Scott (Archivist) “Paradise Square issued their album only as a demo. MIXMAG PRESENTS- Takeover bid Round TWO with Micky Finn-Label:TRIPLE X Overall, quite a good mix. Furious drum beats, big roaring baselines at times, it definitely has an appeal for the drum and bass aficionados. Plenty of variety and know how from one of the legends in Drum & Bass. A slinky sort of jump-up drum'n'bass mix, Mickey Finn's march through names big and small was a vividly entertaining response to jungle's increasingly bloated personality, tellingly released the same year as Goldie's SaturnzReturn. Though he had a lot to pick from his own Urban Takeover roster, Finn restrained from making it merely an endless label infomercial by choosing a wider variety of names such as DJ Krust, Gang Related, Johnny L., and Phurry Freaks. As a result The Takeover Bid: Round 2 felt full and refreshingly accessible. Standouts were Prisoners of Technology's droll "One-Two" and Aphrodite and Finn's terrifically progressive remix of Moby's "Honey." DRILLED CASE CD $5 SKU:20780

NOCTURNE- Guide To Extinction (1995 Texas dark wave /industrial music-Label:TRIPLE X DRILLED CASE .A blend of dark wave and industrial music . SHAKERS,LOS LAST ONES! Los Ineditas + La Vigencia 25 Originals-Unreleased Tracks: Uruguayan 70s Rock-Label:CIRCOLO DEL DIS two compilations of unreleased and rare Los Shakers material brought together in one place on this disc, amking this pretty essential. The Shakers burst on the scene in Uruguay with a look and sound that got them attention as South America's answer to the Beatles. They soon got a contract with Odeon in Argentina; Odeon brought them to Buenos Aires, where they had incredible success with a single featuring two of their own compositions, 'Break it all' and 'More'. This made the difference. The sound was Beatles-like, but not an ordinary or rough copy, instead a copy of superior quality, superior than many of the foreign singers of that era. INDEX - ONE ONLY Originals Vol. 1 (1967-68(the holy grail of psych!) Most of you have no doubt heard of records that have been touted as “mind blowing”, “fuzz monsters”, or “lost/undiscovered classics”. The raves rarely turn out to be justified. That's certainly not the case with the music of Index—if anything, the raves underplay the essence of the band's music, which is seething with cavernous reverb, snaky guitar lines, and downer lyrics. It is fantastically minimalist, starkly atmospheric, and sprinkled with ferocious guitar work.
Includes a 4-panel color insert, written by Index drummer Jim Valice, detailing the band's rock and roll adventures, replete with rare photos. LP $24 SKU:19862
