RAMONES -Do You Remember Rock 'n' Roll Radio? Live in '95-Label:ROX VOX (UK) Having formed in 1974, by 1995 the Ramones were America's best-known and best-loved punk band. They spent much of the year on what they announced as their farewell tour (they would ultimately play their final show in 1996), playing dates in the UK, Holland, Japan, the US, and elsewhere. The superb performance captured here took place in Argentina, and was recorded for FM radio broadcast. On it they tear through many of their best-known songs, proving that they were going out with a bang. It's presented here together with background notes and imagesCD $18 SKU:17111

REED, LOU Double CD w rare tracks, photos and interview -Label:ECHOES (UK) Complete original WBCN-FM broadcast of Lou Reed's astonishing performance at the Orpheum Theatre in Boston, Massachusetts, on October 29, 1976.
- Includes a performance of "Heroin" that differs remarkably from the more familiar versions rolled out on stage in Reed's early days.
- Professionally remastered original FM recording with background liners and rare archival photos.
- 180-gram vinyl.
Lou Reed's 1976 album Rock and Roll Heart wasn't a showcase for the usual diverse aspects of his musical outpouring; it was a shower of bullets, shot at any given interested targets. Unfortunately for Reed, most of the shots missed, but we can be certain that the gun was loaded. His Boston show from October 1976 at the Orpheum Theatre drew the usual suspects with a snapshot of young punks, and included a performance of "Heroin" that differs remarkably from the more familiar versions rolled out on stage in the early days with Nico et al. and on Transformer (1972). WBCN-FM's presence warranted expectations that Reed may not have wanted or respected, but his vision is rarely blurred. The familiar resolute figure took the stage with the singular demeanor he was authorized to parade, but with the quiet seduction and subdued authority that always set him apart. Echoes proudly presents the entire original WBCN-FM broadcast of Lou Reed's astonishing performance at the Orpheum Theatre in Boston, Massachusetts, on October 29, 1976. Professionally remastered original FM recording with background liners and rare archival photos. CD $24 SKU:17110

DICTATORS - Next Big Thing 10”-Label:REAL GONE MUSIC Black Friday RSD 2015 release. "It's been 40 years since Andy 'Adny' Shernoff, Scott 'Top Ten' Kempner, Ross 'The Boss' Friedman a.k.a. FUNichello, Stu Boy King, and Handsome Dick Manitoba released the Dictators' debut Go Girl Crazy! album and created the loud, fast, and rude template that thousands of punk bands to come slavishly followed. And now the boys are ready to celebrate their anniversary with a little help from a very special friend. Long-time fan, professional party animal and metal/punk singer-songwriter-producer Andrew W.K. took the original album session tapes to three of the songs and, as he puts it ever so modestly, 'remixed, over-produced and totally ruined reimagined' them to create sonically stunning brand new versions of 'The Next Big Thing,' 'Two Tub Man,' and 'Weekend' for this Black Friday exclusive release! But that's only half the treasure that awaits Dictators fans on this 10" EP, which comes on beautiful opaque red vinyl; in the course of reviewing the tapes for this project, Sony Legacy A&R Producer Timothy J. Smith also located a reel of unreleased session outtakes including a completely previously unknown recording that never made it to the album, 'Backseat Boogie,' along with an alternate take of 'The Next Big Thing' and an instrumental take of 'Weekend.' Back cover and label artwork boasting previously unseen photo contact sheets complete the package. LIMITED EDITION OF 2500." LP $28 SKU:17105

FAMILY FODDER-Sunday Girls (Director's Cut)-Label:STAUBGOLD (GERMANY) LP version. The legendary first 12" EP by UK underground heroes Family Fodder, originally released in 1979, is now reissued for the first time. Sunday Girls (Director's Cut) is a lovingly assembled full-length album compilation featuring the complete Sunday Girls EP, the debut Family Fodder 7" Playing Golf (With My Flesh Crawling)/My Baby Takes Valium (1979), the Debbie Harrry/A 'Version' 7" from 1980, the 7" A-side "Warm" (1980), and two tracks from the rare Te Deum 12" (1979) by Alig Fodder's pre-Fodder project Frank Sumatra. Family Fodder was originally formed in 1979 by Alig Pearce, with a cast of thousands joining over the ensuing three decades. They emerged from the melting-pot of '70s/'80s London alongside This Heat, The Flying Lizards, The Pop Group, The Slits, and many others. The original formula consisted of psychedelic and new wave influences, incisive songwriting, improvisation, experimentation, and far-out dub mixing. They always managed to evade major exposure, but influenced generations of bands on five continents. Family Fodder was often more at home in the studio than on stage, but completed several European tours as well as cherished performances in their native London. The group released a series of compelling (now collectable) singles and albums between 1979 and 1983. Described as "entertaining idiosyncratic experimentalism with pop sensibilities," Family Fodder appear on the famous Nurse With Wound list, and were best known for indie-chart hits such as "Debbie Harry," "Playing Golf (With My Flesh Crawling)," and "Savoir Faire." More recently, Family Fodder songs have been covered by Zion Train and Unrest, and they've been hailed as "unsung heroes" in The Wire. LP $21 SKU:17106

MILLER, ROGER - Oh-Label:FEEDING TUBE RECORDS "Roger Miller, king of many roads both known and unknown, has a long and illustrious recording history. As a member of Sproton Layer, Destroy All Monsters, Mission of Burma, The Din, etc., he has made many records that are definitive statements of powerful outsider rock music in many guises. But this, his third solo LP, originally released by Forced Exposure in 1988, remains one of the great lost chords in his discography. Although he'd been focusing mostly on extended keyboard techniques for a couple of years, Roger approached us with the idea of doing a guitar-oriented record, and furthermore suggested that he'd spraypaint the back covers of all copies in his driveway, after sprinkling rocks across them. It was a hard opportunity to pass up. And the first bits we heard of the actual recording were amazing. The cover of Sun Ra's 'Space Is the Place' was totally boss. And a bunch of the other songs manifested a really bizarre, somewhat Eno-esque take on what pop-readymades could possibly be. In the intervening years we'd start to hear them in a very different light, realizing they were almost templates for various skewed-spews that would emanate from New Zealand. A little Pumice, a little Tall Dwarfs, although that was obviously not anything planned or even related. There were even bits that recalled This Heat at their most organized. And it was all done at home on four-track. If anyone ever needed evidence that Roger is a genius at left-field song-craft, Oh... should be enough to convince them. It just sounds better even time I hear it" --Byron Coley, 2015. Edition of 350. LP $24 SKU:17101

NEW YORK DOLLS -Live At Radio Luxembourg, Paris 1973-Label:LILITH (RUSSIAN FEDERATION) 2014 release. Before punk rock had a name, its name was the New York Dolls. Recorded for a radio broadcast in Paris in December 1973, this is arguably THE best existing live recording of the Dolls in their prime, complete with stage banter, appalling attempts at fake French accents and a whole lot of drug fuelled attitude. It's almost as if you were there, and for those of us who weren't, this is definitely the next best thing. In addition to thrashing through their "hits," the Dolls revealed their roots in covers of Bo Diddley, Muddy Waters, and New York's original bad girls, the Shangri-Las.

One of the brightest and most famous projects of the entire punk/new wave scene, No New York was released in 1978 on Island's sub-label Antilles. Featuring some of the most incredible rule breaking bands of the underground N.Y.C. art and music scene, the project - produced by Brian Eno - is a genuine snapshot of the massively creative N.Y.C. scene. RUNAWAYS -Live At The Agorà Ballroom, Cleveland July 19, 1976-Label:VINYL LOVERS (ITALY) Here are The Runaways, recorded live on the 19th July 1976, at The Agora, Cleveland, USA. Why have there never been more all girl rock'n'roll bands? I guess by virtue of when The Runaways formed, and their style of music, they are often linked with the new wave / punk scene, whatever category you feel obliged to stick then in, they play a pretty nifty show.

TRAFFIC- Mr Fantasy-Label:VINYL LOVERS (ITALY) 2008 release. Riding fairly high on the success of their singles, the band, whose members included Jim Capaldi, Steve Winwood, Chris Wood, and Dave Mason, released its 1967 debut LP, which also soon shot up to the number 16 slot on the UK albums chart. Aided by their use of unusual instruments (Winwood played the organ, Wood played flute and Mason the sitar) they created a hybrid of pop / blues rock with a sound that was somewhat unique for the time and which soon made them international superstars. This deluxe reissue includes 5 bonus tracks and a poster.

PSYCHEDELIC ROCK MEXICAN- VA ( Stunning heavy psychedelic rock from 1971 ) - Label:VAM RECORDS Stunning heavy psychedelic rock from 1971 by three virtually unknown Mexican groups! Four tracks from the amazing hard-driving and funky EP by Los Papos (released by Orfeon in 1971); four previously unreleased tracks by Los Free Minds, and the only two extant songs by Polvo, an amazing heavy psychedelic rock group from Nuevo Laredo. Los Free Minds was a Mexican Psychedelic Rock trio, formed in 1970 by Jorge Aguilera (guitar, vocals), Jesús Perez [El Jali] and drummer Ernesto Ontiveros. Although invited, the band could not take part in the legendary rock event the Festival de Avándaro held in September 1971; after that, rock music was banned for many years in Mexico, which killed the careers of many bands. In the same year, shortly before their disbandment, Los Free Minds recorded an LP for Orfeón, but only four tracks from it were released as an EP, leaving tracks in the can which debut here. There are many highlights here, songs that could compete with any great song of any great band. Randy Davis shines on guitar, he never strays from his goal, which is to deliver wonderful melodies. COSMIC MICHAEL- St ( Ultra-crude basement garage psych and acid-boogie-blues from 1969 ) - Label:OUT-SIDER Ultra-crude basement garage psych and acid-boogie-blues from 1969!!! First ever vinyl reissue, original artwork, insert with reproduction of the original poster plus pasteable reproductions of original LP labels like those that came with the original release. Newly remastered sound

Who was the mysterious Cosmic Michael? Nobody knows for sure…rumour goes that he was a freak from New York who later relocated to the West Coast after living the Woodstock dream. That’s all we know about him. But before vanishing without trace, Cosmic Michael self-released a couple of primitive, home-made albums on his Bliss label. This is his first one, DIY stoner bluesy garage psychedelia with crude organ, guitars and vocals. Featuring underground classics like “Cosmic Michael Theme” (covered in 2013 by neo-psych band Psychic Ills) and “Now That You’ve found it” among others.. “One of the least “cosmic”-sounding cosmic LPs around, with a loose urban soundcheck vibe using equal parts Vox organ, piano and crude guitar, on top of which Michael semi-improvs lyrics to a steady basement boogie beat. An unusual LP that falls between any genres you can think up; The top attraction is Cosmic Michael’s “Theme” which describes in third person the acid-indulged transformation he’s undergone: “…some kind of chemical change is going on in poor Michael’s brain…” set to a rockin’ garage fuzz beat” - Patrick Lundborg (Acid Archives) “…Stoned '60s DIY rock 'n'roll. You can call it lo-fi or home made, but the message remains: Cosmic Michael preaches love and freedom, and he's a mean boogie-woogie player too. The songs run one after the other, as if part of one spontaneous recording …” - Forced Exposure. LP $26 SKU:16546

ETERNITY- ST ( 70s proto-stoner, hard-rock ) w bonus track, -Label:GOT KINDA LOST RECORDS (SPAIN) Got Kinda Lost Records -- named after the song by ex-Big Star founding member Chris Bell -- is the newest reissue imprint by the Guerssen Label Group. Curated by Jeremy Cargill (Assistant Editor for Ugly Things Magazine), the label's focus is archival and reissue work specializing in the realms of proto-punk, '70s pop/power pop, glam, psych, privately-pressed hard rock, and "out of time" treasures. If you're forever searching for lost treasures, and yearn for a time when hard rock was free of pretense, look no further -- Got Kinda Lost Records presents the wasted, basement hard rock of Eternity. Originally recorded in 1979-1980, and released on a private label in 1981, many songs originate from an earlier period in the '70s, giving the release an "out of time" quality. Led by the confidant vocals of Wallace Stoneking and the "human-riff" creativity of Frank Monroe, Eternity created a groove-oriented, no-frills brand of hard rock, capturing the flair of their heroes existing a decade prior -- and within this set Wallace Stoneking tells of all the surreal interactions and experiences that colored their time together. This set is sure to please fans of '70s proto-stoner, hard-rock, "out of time" private press treasures, and your uncle who still drives that '72 Camaro. Recommended for fans of Blue Cheer, Black Sabbath, Nazca Line, Led Zep, Magi, Leaf Hound, and Stagefright. 24-bit remastering. Includes one bonus track taken from a non-LP 45. LP $28 SKU:16174

FABLE - Get The "L" Outta Here ( Hendrix style band ltd ed of 500, 3 sided dbl lp, insert, ad photos )Label:LION Includes one page (doubl-sided) insert, w/info and pictures limited to 500 copies (3-sided 2xLP)
• Fable's stated influences: Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Grand Funk Railroad, Robin Trower, Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and Sir Lord Baltimore. Hearing the onslaught of stoner metal bands struggling desperately to recreate the airy deep end of mid-’70s heavy music is amusing… almost as much as actually coming across the occasional bona fide prog metal outfits long forgotten over the ages. Fable blended the questionable aesthetics of cape-laden Rush with Paranoid-era Black Sabbath’s eeriness and a moderately softer structural attack reminiscent of Budgie. The end result is the perfect Black Light metal begging for a big ol’ bong suck and an imaginary dragon ride to the land of vans painted with wizards, barbarians and Aztec goddesses. Surprisingly timeless despite an obviously specific historical specificity, "Get The "L” Outta Here!" provides the perfect document of a band with nothing affecting the excesses of ’70s rock’n’roll. Plenty of epic songs heavy on wah-wah pedal and jam band aura makes for a fun retrospective party listen — and when compared to the accessibility of modern stoner rock — proves that minimal means often do produce the greater results." (Waxing Deep)

• Includes one page (doubl-sided) insert, w/info and pictures (LP edition)

GREEN - ST ( First time reissue of this vaunted power pop classic! Color insert, lyrics, photos -Label:LION / ROCKADROME RECORDS (USA) Limited edition of 500 copies. Color insert comes with notes, lyrics, and photos from band leader Jeff Lescher.
Green arrived on the alternative rock scene in the mid-80s, amidst a Chicago scene that included bands like Naked Raygun, Big Black, and Ministry. While Green bypassed the major label-express that other bands rode to fame and fortune, they continued to make records their own way, records which were lauded in the pages of Trouser Press, Spin, and The Village Voice, among others. And with each passing year there are those many who are convinced that their debut LP is worthy of those Mojo/VH1/Spin/ lists of the top 50 or 100 rock albums of all time. Green may be the bee’s knees for power poppers, but they deserve much more notice than that. They were an all-embracing band, with a taste for punk, glam rock and soul—and with the twitchy sort of energy that burbled around in the late-80s, pre-grunge underground (a little Feelies anyone?). It remains a mystery why so many other bands are fixed in the collective memory as the era's best; at the very least, Green should make a list of top obscure pop groups of all time! Color insert has band history and lyrics, plus many a fine photo, all courtesy of band leader Jeff Lescher. According to one astute reviewer: "Green darts through decades of pop history as impatiently as the 'Spiral Scratch'-era Buzzcocks, with band leader Jeff Lescher’s voice ranging from Princely falsetto to gravel-tinged field holler, but most often sounding as though someone stepped on Paul McCartney’s toes in 1965." Another reviewer quite rightly added, "This is such a flawless pop masterpiece that I’m not even ashamed to trot out terms like 'flawless pop masterpiece.'"LP $21 SKU:16210

2LP 350 grams carton Gatefold sleeve packed in Japanese plastic bag. Though they were a product of the beat group age, Group 1850 were the Netherlands' first progressive band - in every sense of that word. Constantly changing, constantly evolving, Group 1850 were musical extremists on a do-or-die mission to explode all expectations. Sparks flew, ideas flared, feedback swirled through misty nights, the dead walked, skeletons danced, flies buzzed, mountains fell, words rained fire from angry purple skies. Group 1850 raised all kinds of Hell. My god, were they good. Although the group made two deservedly revered albums, Agemos Trip to Mother Earth (1968) and Paradise Now (1969), some of their best work can be found on their singles, where their borderline insane hyper-creativity was focused into highly-concentrated, radically potent three-minute songs like Misty Night, Mother No-Head, Zero, We Love Live (Like We Love You), Dont Let It Be (We Have to Do It Now), and the magnificent Have You Ever Heard. The A- and B-sides of all their singles can be found on this 2-LP set in their original mono mixes, mastered from the original tapes. A number of previously unreleased demos are also included. Pressed on 180gm vinyl, Mother No-Head: Their 45s comes packaged in a breathtaking gatefold cover with rare archival photos and liner notes by Ugly Things Mike Stax. LP $35 SKU:13750

GROUP 1850- PARADISE NOW high quality 180 gram audiophile pressing ( 70s Dutch psych masters! ) SAALE - Label:PSEUDONYM Recorded, edited and mixed over one long Red Lebanon hash-fueled weekend in October 1969, Group 1850s second album, Paradise Now, remains one of the high-water marks of European psychedelia. A wide-eyed, wide-open, synapse-electrifying set of songs, it sounds like the transmissions of a burnt-out satellite spinning through the galaxies of inner space. Group 1850 leader Peter Sjardin skillfully edited the groups free-flowing improvisations into eight cohesive yet distinctly different tracks, part Saucerful Of Secrets, part Electric Ladyland, part Guru Guru, part Can circa Monster Movie. Bypassing the established network of record labels, distributors and stores, the album was released on Discofoon, the label owned by the Dutch department store chain V & D, and carried exclusively in their shops nationwide. It has since become a highly sought-after collectors item. Finally this album sees its first official reissue on 180 gram audiophile vinyl, dynamically remastered from the original master tapes. Packaged in a lavish gatefold sleeve with the original cover artwork supplemented by rare photos and liner notes by Mike Stax of Ugly Things magazine. SAALE! - Label:MISSING VINYL Ihre Kinder, formed in 1968, and were the pioneers among the politically and socially engaged groups in Germany. Their second album Leere Hnde was originally released on the legendary KUCKUCK label in 1970. The English version, called Empty Hands, has never been available on vinyl. There was a small number of white label copies pressed by Deutsche Grammophon in 1970/71 to solicit releases by Polyram companies around the world, but as there was no interest, the label dropped the idea. So, now it is the first time ever, that the English version of Leere Hnde is being pressed on vinyl, with the original Kuckuck label and number, the original tracklisting order and the cover as it would have been adjusted for the English version. MERRELL FANKHAUSER - a.k.a The Maui Album (1968 POP PSYCH WONDER ) - Label:OUT-SIDER (Spain) After his stint with Fapardokly, HMS Bounty and MU, Merrell Fankauser released his first solo album in 1976. Comprised of songs written a year earlier while Merrell and violin player Mary Lee were living in the jungle of Maui, this is a brilliant set of spiritual folk-rock and 70s orchestrated SSW light-pop The album was recorded at various Hollywood studios, initially sponsored by a producer from George Harrison’s Dark Horse label. In fact Harrison was so impressed with Merrell’s songs that he expressed interest in playing slide guitar on “Our Way To Hana”. Sadly, due to internal problems, Dark Horse backed off and Merrell found himself without a label to release the album. Finally, a couple of friends from Maui released it on the small Maui Music label. On the recordings, Merrell and Mary Lee were joined by several studio musicians, among them, drummer Bill Berg, who had played on Bob Dylan’s “Blood On The Tracks”. First ever vinyl reissue with tracks restored to their original running order and original artwork. Insert with in-depth liner notes by Jeremy Cargill (Ugly Things, Got Kinda Lost), presenting the most complete written story about Merrell’s musical career. "... It stands as a lost classic in Fankhauser's prolific catalog of work." – Jeremy Cargill (Ugly Things, Got Kinda Lost); “…Great melodic ‘70s psych.
