COCKNEY N WESTERNS - She’s No Angel- Post Boys (UK) punkLabel:BEGGARS BANQUET /Mint vinyl, a little shopwear. 1980 orig pressing. 45 RPM $5 SKU:22873

DEREK LYN PLASTIC - Plastic Surgery EP (Florida garage punk ) Label:FLORIDAS DYING Fast, catchy, “old school”-sounding stuff from Atlanta, GA that falls somewhere between poppy ’77 punk and early hardcore. Makes me wanna pogo! “Second great 7" from this Florida band...imagine The Briefs if they listened to good hardcore records for their inspiration.. 45 RPM $5 SKU:23158

ELECTRIC LOOKING GLASS - Death of a Season ( Bee Gees, Left Banke and Kinks circa '68 influenced) Label:HYPNOTIC BRIDGE Electric Looking Glass are a baroque pop group from Los Angeles whose shared love of early Bee Gees, Left Banke and Kinks circa '68 informs their phenomenal songs. Fresh on the scene, the four far-out dandies create flash melodies in full harmony with jangly guitars, whirling Hammond and a belting backbeat. Sounds of yesterday, visions of tomorrow, yet fully focused on the perfect here and now.
Death Of A Season With a slow, groovy build riding deep, powerful currents of Hammond organ and buoyed by ethereal vocals, “Death Of A Season” envelops you in its sensuous sea of psychedelia before taking you to the top of a tidal wave of intense, climactic glorySomeday Soon”Filled with heavenly harmonies, harpsichord, and jangly guitars, “Someday Soon” takes you to a place that exists only within the grooves of the song itself. It’s an ode to an unattainable idea, a four-minute fantasy about that “magic other-place” we sometimes find when we cross the Hypnotic Bridge. 45 RPM $10 SKU:21637

ELLISTER, JACK-The man with the BiochopperGRAY VINYL Label:Regal Crabomophone BW CITADEL Limited edition of 800 with poster. \ A strange psychedelic and pop hybrid, which certainly sounds as if it belongs in the 1960s. Great production work on this one! 45 RPM $10 SKU:23811

FLOWER MACHINE- Through a London Window-Label:HYPNOTIC BRIDGE Currently based in San Luis Obispo, California, The Flower Machine recorded the basic tracks for their Hypnotic Bridge single in a cavernous warehouse, on a vintage 8-track machine. The tapes were then taken to a studio in Cambria, where they added sitar, flute, organ, backwards guitars and subtle layers of Mellotron cello to complete the A-side, “Through A London Window,” which was inspired in part by Antonioni’s 1966 cinematic masterpiece “Blow Up.”“One in a Million,” perhaps the most obscure item in the Pink Floyd canon, makes its vinyl debut on the B-side. Surviving only on a murky audience tape from a gig in Copenhagen in September 1967, the song is thought to be a joint composition between Roger Waters and Syd Barrett. It even may have been a version of the rumored “She Was a Millionaire” single The Pink Floyd were working on to follow up “See Emily Play.” Peter spent ages decoding its lyrics, enabling us to present here, for the first time ever, a fully realized version of a song that many consider to be one of the last holy relics of the Barrett era. Peter employs a black-and-white Danelectro 59 for the guitar parts, while Matt Nice plays the menacing, Rick Wright-influenced organ. 45 RPM $10 SKU:22797

GEZA X -Practicing MICE - 1979 DEMOS! Label:NO MATRIX BW Me No Wanna Be (1979) The very first Gexa X demos from 1979, recorded in the Hollywood-Cherokee building just weeks after his tenure in The Deadbeats had ended. This previously unreleased 45 contains an early version of Practicing Mice and the largely unheard "Me No Wanna Be". First pressing of 500 copies, includes insert with rare photos and liner notes by Geza X. 45 RPM $10 SKU:23757

GIRL TROUBLE/POP DEFECT/ - split single 1995 West Coast garage rock Label:DIONYSUS TCold Shoulder/Dont Be Grateful Tacoma’s Girl Trouble and Seattle/LA’s Popdefect (although they seem to have been born out on the road, probably crossing North Dakota in pitch blackness), go back decades, boast cult followings, and have had movies dedicated to them—and both remain criminally underhyped. All I can do to un-underhype them is to affirm that Girl Trouble strike exactly the right balance between manifesting rock’s big-dick/big-ego strut and satirizing the same, while Popdefect perfect primal, minor-key wails from the id. 45 RPM $1 SKU:17785

GREEN PAJAMAS- FLEXI DISC Such a Lovely Daughter ( Brit -style paisley underground psych former VOXX BAND! ) Label:GREEN MONKEY Very rare early flexi disc Warehouse find of "British-style psychedelia” paisley underground band from Seattle , 1980. 45 RPM $5 SKU:21915

HIGHER STATE - In The Morning (psych-folk spirit of ’66 )Label:HYPNOTIC BRIDGE “In The Morning I Will Roam” b/w “Winter Is Blue” The psych-folk spirit of ’66 comes jangling through the mists of time with the profound sounds and imagery of “In The Morning I Will Roam”, transporting those who listen intently into the pensive, rustic realm of classic British troubadours, from Donovan Leitch to Vashti Bunyan.“Winter Is Blue” is, in fact, one of Vashti’s own early classics, transformed into a perfect complement to the A-side by The Higher State’s visionary take on her obscure contribution to 1968’s “Tonite Let’s All Make Love In London” soundtrack. 45 RPM $10 SKU:21478

HOLLOWBODY - Glossy cover Brian Jonestown Massacre related RARE! Label:TANGIBLE Warehouse find, only a few copies. Back in 1993, Tangible and Bomp! records co-released an amazing box set of six 7"s by San-Fran-area bands Hollowbody, Orange, Nebtwister, Acid, Brian Jonestown Massacre, and Reverb. Only 500 copies of the box set were made, none remain , but we have a few of the individual singles . 45 RPM $5 SKU:11675

HUNNS (DUANE PETERS)-Animals b/w Wild ( punk ) PINK MARBLE VINYL LAST COPIES! Label:DISASTER Records The HUNNS sound is raw, chainsaw, based on a classic formula : two Les Pauls, drums and bass. Duane, of course, sounds like Duane, but that's the main similarity with the U.S. Bombs : the HUNNS delivery is much more street American rock'n'roll. Now with the addition of ex-NASHVILLE PUSSY COREY PARKS on bass, The HUNNS have become one of the best punk band playing anywhere in the world today. 45 RPM $5 SKU:23191

LAISSEZ FAIRS -10,000 Tomorrows- IYL Roger McGuinn. Fairport Convention. Lord Dunsany. The Who. Label:HYPNOTIC BRIDGE b/w “From Field To Field Dreams and rivers. Oceans and prisons. Inner battles. Outer cages. The bards of old. The '60s loom large... be they the 1660s or the 1960s... from O'Carolan to Keith Richards and a thousand books and whistles in between. The influences are smashed together violently... and tenderly. William Blake. Roger McGuinn. Fairport Convention. Lord Dunsany. The Who.. 45 RPM $10 SKU:23756

LOOSE - Untamed - 4 songs (2000 Italian punk release)- Label:ROCKIN HOUSE Italian swagger punks that sound like they like to fight. "Untamed!" is a fitting title, what with the gang-land vox and the psychoactive guitars, and Loose play some seriously muscular sleazepunk here. Of the four tracks, I'm gonna finger "Cool as Fuck" as the highlight, both for it's winning subject matter and it's punchy chorus, but any of 'em ought to get your motor running. 45 RPM $5 SKU: 24256

LOS BABY ROCKS- 4 WILD SPANISH ROCKERS from the 50’s - SAALE! Label:RCA HECTOR Mexican rock'n'roll band from the 1950's he group began performing together in 1958, at which time it was composed of the four Avila Aranda brothers. They debuted at the Fantasio theater in Mérida in 1960, then performed in Belize, where they took the name Los Baby's del Rock. They recorded their first sides for Discos Orfeón in 1959, but the label did not release them until 1962 once rock & roll began to become popular in Mexico. They toured throughout Mexico in the middle of the decade, and around this time they also made numerous appearances in television advertisements. In 1964, they made their first recordings for Discos Peerless, often covering the hits of foreign groups to great success. They became one of the most popular native pop acts in Mexico in the 1960s 45 RPM $2 SKU:19845

The band's 'The End Of The Lane' pays tribute to the classic psych singles of yore, featuring lush guitars, plenty of echo on the vocals, the warm sound of the mellotron and a rhythm section with an uncanny gift for melodic fills. 'The End Of The Lane' is a song that was inspired by Neil Gaiman's book 'The Ocean At The End Of The Lane'. Mr. Gaiman himself created a drawing for the front cover of this single. DEEP REDUCTION - ST(W Radio Birdman’s DENIZ TEK)Label:GET HIP Deep Reduction pays tribute to everything from delta blues to Led Zeppelin to ’70s Punk and Pop with Deniz Tek’s signature guitar mastery. Deep Reduction came to be when Radio Birdman’s Deniz Tek was asked to produce the latest Stump Wizards record, “Contains Lead.” The band and the producer hit it off well and the first Deep Reduction single, “Black Tulip” was the result. Recorded during breaks in the action, it was a spontaneous burst of energy that resulted in this follow-up full length. Sure, this record has it’s roots in Tek’s classic Radio Birdman days and the Stump Wizards mutant punk/hard rock sound, but it really is something entirely new and different and something to be reckoned with. CD $10 SKU:21927

Dizbuster tears through 10 songs without slowing down, although some cuts aren’t as fast as “In Drag” and fall into a mid-tempo groove instead. Did I mention it rocks?CD $10 SKU:23475

DM3 - Rippled Soul (AUSTR) (power pop )- Label:CITADEL DM3's third album is arguably their best. The song writing is probably leaning more towards pop than power pop which may be the result of more co-writes than on previous albums. "West Of Anywhere" compiles their best material from 1993’s “One Time,Two Times, Three Red Light,” “Road To Rome” from ‘96 and 1999’s “Rippled Soul.” The album has been carefully REMASTERED and the music sounds as contemporary as ever. DOMNICKS - Super Real (Stems DM3 Someloves)Label:CITADEL digipack Their debut album Super Real marks a coming of age for The DomNicks. Forged by Perth based Dom Mariani and Nick Sheppard, the band is a powerful blend of swagger 'n' roll rock, soul and pop smarts. Mariani is best known as the driving force behind The Stems, DM3 and The Someloves, while Sheppard's pedigree boasts 80's Bristol punks The Cortinas and thereafter as Mick Jones' replacement in the 1983-86 line-up of The Clash. In 2007 the pair teamed up with Howard Shawcross (The Elks, The Riptides) on bass and Marz Frisina on drums, quickly developing into a very 'hang loose' combo. Playing a mix of Dom and Nick's originals with a spread of 60's and 70's garage and soul classics, they are a band of seasoned players punching well above their collective musical weight. Super Real continues in the tradition of The DomNicks' previous recording, Hey Rock 'n' Roller (Off The Hip 2009). Expanding on Hey Rock 'n' Roller's gutsy guitar driven sound, Super Real takes a ride through blues, soul, funk, and classic guitar pop influences to create one seamless musical journey fuelled by the vim and vigour of a noble era. Among the 12 tracks you'll find the Exile era Stones' sound of Reconcile, the brazen brass and swing of Let's Go Baby, soul flavours in I Wonder What You're Doin' Now, the straight ahead rollicking of Miracle and tantalising twists and turns of the electric sitar driven Winter. It's bound to cause the head and heart to shake. CD $12 SKU:14597

The group is rounded out by names slightly less well known but of equal musical caliber: founder Ron Sanchez (multiple instruments), Scott Sutherland (many instruments as well), and vocalist Kris Wilkinson Hughes. GENERATORS - Welcome to the End (1997 L.A punkers) - Label:TRIPLE X The origin of Los Angeles’ influential punk band The Generators dates back to 1997, just a few miles from the skyscrapers of downtown. In the early days, the band hung out and wrote music in an old vacant pizza oven factory, churning out their first batch of songs, which echoed the sentiments of the 1977 Punk spirit. They quickly got attention from the owners of the infamous Triple X Records, who were known best for their 1980’s roster that included Social Distortion, The Vandals, GBH and Jane’s Addiction. Without haste, the indie punk label put The Generators into the recording studio where they produced their first album ironically titled Welcome To The End. CD $5 SKU:22791

The label that played host to these bands was Jimmy Nichol's Pharaoh Records and this album contains the best the label had to offer. Not only were the records superlative, but today they are considered some of the rarest finds for collectors of '60s garage bands. Singles by Pharaoh artists such as The Headstones, The Cavaliers, and Christopher and The Souls go for over a grand apiece, if they can be located. EMBER POP 69-74- VA Rainy Day Mind ( 60s ) -Label:FANTASTIC VOYAGE Rainy Day Mind” is the first of two volumes surveying Ember’s pop repertoire from 1969 until the label’s demise at the end of the seventies. It comprises 21 tracks by artists ranging from obscure American singer Polly Niles to the internationally famous P J Proby, as well as ill-fated actor Alan Lake, Irish vocalist Lee Lynch, French pop star Black Swan and fuzz guitar-toting soul band Milt Matthews Inc. A clutch of projects including The Good Vibrations, The Good Ship Lollipop and Rusty Harness came to Ember courtesy of producer Mike Berry. The founding of US outlet Paramount-Ember in 1974, headed by music business veteran John Madara, brought albums by Denny Doherty (formerly of The Mamas And The Papas) and British all-girl glam rockers Mother Trucker into the fold. What these disparate sources all offer are fine performances of strong songs. HE PUT THE BOMP- - PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED psych/garage tracks by RADIO MOSCOW,/BLACK KEYS /NIKKI CORVETTE/BARRACUDAS -Label:BOMP his is not a tribute album per se, but more of a remembrance of Greg Shaw and his unique perspective. We asked the bands to go into the studio and cut the cover song they felt was most in tune with the idea of the label and the result is a nice brew of garage punk, power pop and psychedelia that we think captures the spirit and sound of Bomp records. The Plimsouls and Lyres covered the Easybeats and the Outsiders respectively, the Black Keys surprised us with their rendering of the Cramps "I Can't Find My Mind", while the Dwarves and the Briefs sent their versions of punk classics by the Weirdos and the Zeros. We also got some nice surprises with the teaming up of Captain Sensible (The Damned) and the late Nikki Sudden for an acoustic cover of Iggy's "Kill City", Chris Wilson of the Flamin' Groovies joined the Barracudas to capture Rocky Erickson's "Two Headed Dog," and a Cleveland super group of sorts tabbed The Dukes Of Earls was formed with ex-members of the Dead Boys and the Stiv Bators' band. Also included is an amazing rendition of Rockin' Horse's classic "Don't You Ever Think I Cry" by Buffalo Killers (currently on tour with the Black Crowes), a cover of Spacemen 3 by The Warlocks, and much more. The Last even dug up for the occasion their previously unreleased rendering of Jonathan Richman's "Pablo Picasso" recorded back in 1977. There's a lot of cool music on this comp which we hope fans and collectors will enjoy. COMP CD $10 SKU:19890

JOHN THE CONQUEROR - ST LTD EDITION of 100 on MELLOW YELLOW VINYL LAST COPIES! - Label:ALIVE John The Conqueror’s self-titled debut album is an amalgamation of the many sounds and styles (old and new) mined from both the North and the South. Cousins Pierre Moore (vocals & guitar) and Michael Gardner (drums) are natives of Jackson, MS, while bassist Ryan Lynn hails from Philly – where the trio now call home. Together they mix a bedrock of raw deep blues with funk, soul, punk and scuzzed-up rock-n-roll into one helluva potent musical Molotov cocktail. Moore and Gardner have been playing together in bands since their college days in Oxford, MS, and Moore learned to play guitar in his early teens from a homeless man who slept in the back room of an auto repair shop.

"The trio from Mississippi, now based in Philly, have the smoothness of classic 50’s soul mixed with a southern twang." – Knuckle Rumbler

"It’s all smokestacks, greasy ball bearings, mudslides, and corn liquor swilled from mason jars; raggedly scorching guitar riffs, a thunderous rhythm section, and howled vocals. ‘Say What You Want’ rockets me off my rear every time." – Brian Greene / Happening Magazine

"Leader Pierre Moore has a matter-of-fact singing voice, tasteful six-string skills and a tuneful writing style that balances licks and melody and avoids classic rock overload." – Michael Toland / The Big Takeover.

"They will bring you from the church to the juke joint in four quick minutes." – Mad Chicago

"John The Conqueror's new LP is downright street smart funky." – Jeffrey Morgan's Media Blackout.

"Pierre Moore is a charismatic frontman, strutting the stage, ripping away at guitar licks and belting out dynamic vocals. Joining Moore are his cousin Michael Gardner, a force of nature on drums, and local guy Ryan Lynn, who brings a rumbling low end to the mix." – The Key WXPN LP $20 SKU:14630

JOSEFUS-Not Dead YET-Unreleased 1978 24148 psych rockersLabel:ShroomAngel Records After several years out of print, a second pressing of this collection of scorching rarities from these venerable and legendary psychedelic hard rockers. •Black vinyl edition of 300x copies. ShroomAngel says:"Josefus is a name that every self-respecting record collector and 60’s rock enthusiast can appreciate. They were raw, uncompromising rockers that played their own unique brand of psychedelic “amped-up” blues rock. Their story is one of hardship and struggle, having lived the life of true hardcore underground rock musicians fighting the establishment during the tumultuous late 60’s and early 70’s. Their first album, “Dead Man," has firmly etched itself into the consciousness of thousands of people and today an original copy can fetch up to $1,000. Recordings of this band are scarce, especially those of any sonic quality, so when we discovered there were unreleased studio sessions dating from the 70’s, we were very excited and rightly so! These lost gems smoke! Painstakingly restored and mastered with state of the art technology, we can now offer up these historic and priceless recordings on a format that will do them justice. The rest of this excellent release contains amazing professional live recordings capturing the band during more recent outings (2004 and 2012) and show them to be as raw and savage as they were in 1969. A welcome release by this venerable band from Houston, Texas. Long Live Josefus!” LP $22 SKU:23764

LAST- Look Again Ltd edition COLORED VINYL w 7”Label:BACKLASH Sometimes great bands have a rough go of it. Consider The Last, the influential Los Angeles band who rose to the top of the city's music scene - with bands like The Go-Go's opening for them - and released their critically acclaimed album L.A. Explosion! In 1979 on Bomp Records. But rather than build on that momentum, which included shows with X and Black Flag, The Last - Joe Nolte (guitar, vocals), Vitus Mataré (keyboards, flute, vocals), Joe's two brothers, Mike Nolte (harmony vocals) and David Nolte (bass) and John Frank (drums) - recorded a follow-up album that was doomed and shelved by the band. Now, the never-before-released, thought-to-be-lost-to-history album, Look Again, will finally be available 40 years after it was originally recorded. The newly remastered album is available here on vinyl LP complete with a bonus 7" featuring two never before released songs: "Weekend Girl" and "Fade To Black." LP $35 SKU:24093

IN TIME - Inside Your Mind (psych-punk-garage-pop from 1985) SAALE!- Label:MENTAL EXPERIENCE Over a decade ago, Steve Krakow aka Plastic Crimewave found a cassette by a mysterious 80s band called In Time at a Chicago thrift shop. When he returned home and listened to it, he was amazed: “I had flashes of the TV Personalities (one of my fave "DIY" bands), early "paisley underground" like Three O'Clock (maybe when they were the Salvation Army), wobbly but illuminated 60s folk-garage like Faine Jade, and even first wave UK punk like Subway Sect or yes, thee Pistols. There were even jagged post-punk moves ala the Swell Maps or Scrotum Poles, outrageous phasing, trumpet, and something lacking so deeply in bands today—PERSONALITY”. Obsessed with it, Steve tracked down one of the band members in Pennsylvania and found out that there was more unreleased stuff. So here’s the first ever IN TIME vinyl LP. Including most of the songs from their ultra-rare cassette plus previously unreleased tracks. Like Steve says: “self-depreciating jangle-pop, furious power-chorded decrees, full-tilt psychedelia, experimental texture pieces--and actual tunes that will burrow into one's skull for weeks.” *Insert with liner notes by Steve Krakow (Plastic Crimewave / Galactic Archive)*Includes free digital download card.LP $17 SKU:20633

JOHN THE REVELATOR- WILD BLUES (70s Dutch blues) SAALE!Label:PSEUDONYM Back in 1970 the Dutch blues band John The Revelator won the prestigious Loosdrecht Jazz Concours. Record label Decca immediately offered them a recording contract, which resulted in the release of the legendary album 'Wild Blues'. It was recorded at the Phonogram studio with producer Tony Vos, who had a great track record with bands like Cuby + Blizzards, Ekseption and the Oscar Benton Blues Band. At that time John The Revelator had grown into a seven-piece band. They had just two days to record the album and one evening to mix it. Most tracks were done in two or three takes, with a bare minimum of overdubs: just vocals and horns. 'Wild Blues' has since become a highly sought-after collectors item. This deluxe 180-gram audiophile vinyl LP set presents the original album in its entirety, plus two extra songs: the instrumental 'Yeah' and the (in 1971) recorded B-side of a never released single, 'One Track Mind', all dynamically mastered from the original tapes. The gatefold sleeve features restored cover art, along with rare archival photos and liner notes. John the Revelator is still alive and kicking and has been on the road now for 45 years. They play all over Europe and toured Australia. JOINT EFFORT -Final Effort (intriguing folk/rock/psych 1974) SAALE! -Label:VOID/HALLUCINATIONS RECORDS (USA) With its immediately recognizable M C Escher cover, this intriguing folk/rock/psych release from 1974 is another incredibly rare album enjoying its first legitimate reissue. A Joint Effort's Final Effort was originally recorded and released by Canada's University Of New Brunswick on its Little Records label (Little Records 101); despite its lack of wider recognition, this is generally regarded by those who know as a diverse and eclectic album with a number of outstanding tracks. One pundit described it as 'a weird mix of early CSNY, with shades of Perth County Conspiracy and a dash of early Eagles thrown in.' The first side, with the superb 'Winter' is particularly impressive—largely acoustic hippy folk rock with the occasional electric guitar thrown in for good measure. Side two, however, is an altogether rockier affair with standout tracks 'Greed For Goldand,' an up-tempo fuzzed-out cover of ‘A Horse With No Name’ combining effectively to elevate Final Effort to a different musical plane. Original cover has been reproduced as well as rare original insert. LP $15 SKU:19256

(Part 4) The Peruvian psych/space freaks are back, with some rural reflections of the 60s acid punk era with its catchy, raw & animalistic high energy performances. Can a riot be started by the slow and on low volume? - NO- the title says it all (a mix of The Clash classic and Peruvian Andean mythology). Since their fabulous debut album "Hacia El Sol Rojo" the group evolved into a mighty tight "wall of sound" (not just live on stage); but still keeping their sensitive feeling to hypnotize a wide spectrum of Rock freaks who like it intense! - Look forward to hard driven riff/solo guitars, pumpin overdosed bass, crazynwild marching tribal drums, combined with outer space effects & noises - the dark euphoria will make you stand up and dance! LAZY SMOKE- Corridor Of Faces (ORIG copies of 1993 reissue IN PLAIN WHITE JACKET!) SAALE -Label:ONYX Copies with jacket going for $2500.00!~ . Original copies in a plain white jacket of the very highly regarded Onyx label reissue from 1993. "In a genre built on obscured and unsung genius, “Corridor Of Faces” transcends and stands out as a true psyche masterpiece. Rising above any number of recently unearthed late-60s anglo-pop platters, the sole offering from small town Massachusetts phenomenon Lazy Smoke is a cohesive, solid, classic album in every sense. Ten songs that weave into one-another, painting some beautifully drifty sonic picture as they go. The first remarkable trait of Lazy Smoke's sound is the lead vocals' uncanny similarity to John Lennon. If that likeness was the whole story, we would have a Beatles sound-alike on our hands, and that would be that. Upon digging just a little deeper below the surface, we instead find a darker tone and a patient, eerie and almost shut-in feeling resonating through the songs. While bands like The Beatles and The Left Banke were singing about love, lament and hallucinated travel experiences, the songs on Corridor Of Faces get sincerely dark right away. Even the seemingly-light teenage love-themed 'Sarah Saturday' shares an undercurrent of on-the-edge uncertainty and dread. It's this undercurrent that calls to mind comparisons to Forever Changes-era Love and the more damaged end of the pop spectrum. Originally privately pressed in MA in an edition of only 500 copies in 1968 LP $14 SKU:21224

LEVEE CAMP MOAN-ST (1969 blues based rock) SAALE! -Label:SOMMER This is the first, legitimate vinyl reissue of this extraordinarily rare album. Includes insert with rare photos and full band history by Pete Sarfas. In 1969 Bracknell based blues rock outfit Levee Camp Moan released what was destined to become one of the most sought after UK private pressings of the period. Issued on the County Recording Services label (SVVS 132), a small run of discs was pressed up and sold locally at gigs as well as being handed out to friends. Housed in an obligatory custom built sleeve that had a snapshot of the group pasted onto the front, this LP marked out their status as one of the most exciting bands to emerge out of the thriving local underground scene in the Bracknell Delta. The group had taken their name from the old blues number and the band members, manager and assorted roadies took up residence in a local farmhouse known as Peacock Farm. It was there that LCM would rehearse into the small hours thumping out a mixture of blues standards as well as their own compositions until they had become a tight unit ready to 'take on the world'. Influences ranged from the urban blues of Otis Rush, Buddy Guy and Junior Wells to Muddy Waters, Skip James and beyond. The more or less contemporary white blues of the time, Canned Heat, Savoy Brown and Paul Butterfield also served as a major source of inspiration. From their humble roots LCM quickly built up a following on the British Blues circuit, frequenting the likes of the Marquee, Crawdaddy, Klooks Kleek, Eel Pie Island and Rikki Tik club. On the college circuit they toured extensively with Chickenshack, Canned Heat and Muddy Waters with performances being of a high enough standard to generate record company interest. Unable to secure a record deal, they had no other choice but to do it themselves. And so it was in the winter months of early '69 that LCM entered Virgin Sound in nearby Windsor to lay down eight tracks recorded on a four track machine. At the time of its creation the term private pressing would have had little or no relevance in musical circles and the significant thing to remember is that in such cases there is no record company interference and what the band was able to produce under these conditions was the archetypal private pressing, raw, under produced and thrillingly primitive. The project successfully captured the spirit and aggression of an exciting new band and the original artefact is now a zeitgeist of that remarkable era. After Levee Camp Moan, Ian Campbell went on to carve out a busy musical career performing with, amongst many others, the Nashville Teens, Arthur Brown's band and Mungo Jerry. Bassist Dave Stubbs played with a host of notables including gigs in Eric Clapton's band and lengthy tours with Uli Jon Roth (ex Scorpions). This is the first, legitimate vinyl reissue of this extraordinarily rare album. Includes insert with rare photos and full band histo LP $18 SKU:22686

LIVING SACRIFICE BAND-Beauty for ashes (75-82 West Coast Xtian heavy rock)SAALE - Label:ANAZITISI From 1975 to 1982 the Living Sacrifice Band would play literally hundreds of concerts from the west coast to the east coast and privately produce 3 albums between 1977 and 1981. "Beauty for ashes" is their second one, from 1979. Side A contains 5 pleasant xian folk-rock ballads, with beautiful female vocals and excellent flute and keyboards work, reminiscent of early 70's UK bands. Side B seems to be different enough, containing three extended rock (you could even call them heavy rock) tracks with female and male vocals as well and lots of fuzzy, distorted guitars, and wild flute leads. 3 tracks of the album are (co-)written by Jim and Vicky Tsapatoris of Last Call Of Shiloh fame. This is an officialy reissue, represented here with the original B/W cover which is much rarer than the second edition from 1980, with the well-known "Flower Girl" cover. Fully laminated cover. Includes extra triptych (6-pages LP-sized) insert with bio, photos, lyrics and memorabilia and a reproduction of the second 1980 edition's ("Flower Girl") front and back cover.
