DYMON, FRANKIE JR -Let It Out: Poems In Words And Music (PSYCH KRAUTROCK)-Label:GERMANOFON Described in one place as “Psychedelic soul-brother Krautrock,” this is an incredible Kraut/funk meeting (1971) of US expatriate Dymon and the cream of the German Rock scene. Dymon, probably better known in film circles for his role as "Black Power Militant" in Godard's Sympathy For The Devil and as director of the super-obscure Death May Be Your Santa Claus, mellifluously rants on subjects such as past sexual conquests, racial injustice, and pot-smoking etiquette. The album was a kind of 'project' record, led by Frank Dostal and Achim Reichel. Reichel wrote most of the songs and produced the album (engineering was by Konrad “Conny” Plank). Most of Reichel's then backing band also took part in the recordings: Rolf Kohler (bass), Norbert Jacobsen (clarinet), Lemmie Lembrecht (percussion) and Helmut Franke (percussion). Additional musicians were Wolfgang "Zabba" Lindner (drums, ex-Wind), Peter Hecht (piano, from Lucifer's Friend), Elga Blask (vocals) and Olaf Casalich (congas). The LP comprised a great variety of styles—those of you who know the early Achim Reichel albums will know what to expect here! There are certainly many tracks to enjoy, like ‘Aftermyth,’ an 11-minute track with manipulated electric guitar and awkward anti-war and anti-racism lyrics. Many of the tracks had very unusual arrangements. The psychedelic cover art, recalling the Ikarus album on Plus, is also notable. In the same year, Dostal and Reichel also made another complex, but vastly different project album together, this time as Wonderland Band. First-ever reissue, lyric booklet included. CD $10 SKU:19035

GINGER BAKERS AIRFORCE-"Live in the Stadhalle Offenbach Germany 1970 DOUBLE CD -Label:VOICEPRINT Ginger Baker is probably best known as the drummer with British rock bands Cream and Blind Faith. Ginger's next musical stop was his own band Ginger Baker's Airforce who released two albums of part studio/part live recordings. This short-lived band broke up in late 1970, and Ginger then went to briefly live in Africa, where in Nigeria he established his own recording studios in Lagos whilst also forming the band Salt, a band which managed to fuse jazz with African rhythms. A return to the UK in the mid seventies saw Ginger join forces with the Gurvitz brothers late of Three Man Army and Gun in the Baker Gurvitz Army. Releasing a number of albums with this band Ginger re established his rock career. Apart from live recordings included on the two original Airforce albums, Ginger Baker's Airforce recordings are extremely rare. This is an audience recording of Airforce in Offenbach Germany on 18 December 1970. This performance captures the second incarnation of Airforce following the departure of Steve Winwood and Chris Wood, who had returned to Traffic by this time. Nevertheless, it is a lively performance—actually one of the final Airforce performances before the band split. The performance features (amongst others) the Cream classic ‘Sunshine Of Your Love’ and Ginger's contribution to the Blind Faith album, ‘Do What You Like,’ alongside tracks from the second Airforce album, including ‘We Free Kings,’ ‘Let Me Ride,’ ‘Toady’ and ‘12 Gates Of The City.’ The recordings featured in the Official Ginger Baker Bootleg series are sure to become collector's items and are all sanctioned by Ginger Baker CD $10 SKU:19501

KALEIDOSCOPE (USA-Pulsating Dream TRIPLE CD -Label:FLOATING WORLD One of the few groups of the psychedelic era whose musicianship was equal to their ambition—they delved into every possible musical genre, and invented a couple of their own. CD $14 SKU:19502

MOUNTAIN -Canadian Festival Express 1970 LAST COPIES!-Label:VOICEPRINT Scorching live recording by Leslie West's legendary band of rockers, recorded at the Canadian Festival Express in 1970. The tenth volume in the Mountain Bootleg Series was recorded on their Canadian Festival Express tour in 1971. As with all the other volumes in the series, all of the recordings come from Leslie West and Corky Laing's personal archives. Some of the performances are not sonically perfect, but the quality of the performances are never in question. When 1970 began, New York hard rockers Mountain were one of the most promising new bands. Their 1969 debut (while the album was titled “Mountain,” it was credited solely to Leslie West) had led to a highly coveted spot in the original Woodstock festival, thrusting the band was into the spotlight. By the year's end, due to their exceptional sophomore effort, “Climbing,” Mountain were one of the US's premier rock outfits CD $10 SKU:19503

MOUNTAIN -Live in San Bernadino, CA 1971 LAST COPIES!-Label:VOICEPRINT Mountain was formed in 1969 by guitarist Leslie West and bassist and former Cream producer Felix Pappalardi. The two met while West was a member of Long Island R&B band the Vagrants When West left the Vagrants to record a solo album it was agreed that Felix Pappalardi would produce the said album which was entitled Mountain. The sessions for the album went so well that it was decided that the pair would form a band and the band would take its name from Leslie’s album. So it was that Mountain was born. Joining Leslie and Felix was drummer N.D. Smart who had also played on Leslie’s album and keyboard player Steve Knight. The band started to gig and whilst the response was positive no one would have dreamed how big the audience would be for the bands fourth gig. In August 1969 Mountain along with the likes of the Who, Jefferson Airplane, Crosby Stills Nash and Young—and of course Jimi Hendrix—played at the Woodstock festival. CD $10 SKU:19504

PANDORA -Space Amazon (1970s glam proto punk) -Label:ARF ARF Erik Lindgren's Arf! Arf! Records is known for gathering the most obscure unreleased vintage tapes for historical purposes. (They're also known to have a giggle now and again; a couple of the label's supposedly vintage unreleased tapes are at least suspected to be by modern-day groups recording in note perfect re-creations of period styles.) Though most of the label's vintage tapes are from '60s era New England bands, given Lindgren's proximity and tastes, the 1997 release Space Amazon is actually a bunch of circa 1974 recordings by Pandora, a Cleveland, OH, band. The tapes were produced by Joe Battaglia, drummer for Cleveland metallurgists Granicus, and only the first two, the thumping "Space Amazon" and "Daze of Madness," were ever released, and even then only on a flexi-disc given away by a local magazine. The glammy songs have a heavy, proto-punk edge, as if the group were heavily into the Stooges and the first New York Dolls album, and the theatrical vocals and self-consciously "decadent" lyrics suggest a strong Bowie/T. Rex fixation as well. Fun stuff, no matter when it was recorded. (MUSIC EMPORIUM)proto punk) CD $10 SKU:19193

RALLIZES DENUDES, LES -Hadaka No Rallizes) “yodo-go-a-go-go-Label:10th AVENUE FREEZE OUT Legendary Japanese rock outfit Les Rallizes Denudes were formed in 1967 and incredibly for a group that had only one official release (Oz Days Live, a double vinyl compilation release in 1973), played their last gig almost 30 years later in October 1996. The bands name apparently means "f*cked up and naked" which more than adequately describes their music. Formed by band leader Mizutani Takashi, the music remained remarkably familiar over the years, and is best described as high volume, raw lo-fi repetitive feedback-drenched guitar noise fests with nods in the direction of the Velvet Underground and Blues Creation but without the electronics. Radical left wing politics was never far from the bands agenda, with one original band member (Wakabayashi) being involved in the Japanese Red Armys hijacking of a flight to North Korea.. Consequently, the group's live appearances became less frequent and increasingly clandestine. All the bands albums were released in very small quantities and because of the group's reputation for secrecy and violence, as well as the difficulty in tracking down their recordings, Les Rallizes Denudes has assumed almost mythical status. CD $10 SKU:19036

REINHOLD, MOLITOR- REINHOLD 60s PSYCH)-Label:VAM Globe-trotting artist Bodo Molitor may have been born in Germany, but he’ll forever be associated with the psychedelic scene in Mexico and South America. In addition to creating the zoomorphic art for his own bizarre album, “Hits Internacionales,” he also created the psychedelic art for the legendary Kaleidoscope album, for La Libre Expresion, and for his brother Reinhold’s solo album. He had this to say about the Reinhold record: “My Brother Reinhold came for a visit from Germany where he was playing with several bands. He was only 19. I knew Edghar Zamudio (from Peru) and one day he asked us to record that LP. Just acoustic—guitars and a banjo played brilliantly by my brother. I think we recorded the whole album in three or four days. I played some guitars and did some vocals as well. It’s folky and bluesy with originals some covers and traditionals. My brother sings and plays guitar and banjo, on some of the songs he wrote.” The Reinhold album is so rare, even with the connection to his more famous artist brother, no one seems to have discovered it… until now. Despite being from the end of the 1960’s, Reinhold has more of an early-60's NYC Greenwich Village Cafe Wha?-ish folk underpinning. The best tracks have gravel-pated vocals in a vaguely Tom Waits or maybe Joseph Spence sort of vein—really syrupy and quite excellent. Overall, a dark and morose vibe dominates; and we can all use some minor key laments, now and then, right? Limited edition of only 500 copies, CD $10 SKU:19373

STONE GARDEN -ST (US. 60s HEAVY PSYCH) Label:GEAR FAB For the late 60’s, there wasn’t a much heavier record thanthis amazing slab of US Heavy Psychedelic/Acid Rock!Stone Garden hailed from a state one could assume was among the last touched by the chemical stimulant-inspired revolution in rock music in the '60s. But you wouldn't be able to tell that from Stone Garden. Cobbled together from live and studio recordings made between 1969 and 1971, the reissue collects virtually every available note by the pack of Idaho teens, including both sides of their lone, extremely rare 45 ("Oceans Inside Me"/"Stop My Thinking"). Aside from that single, all the tracks remained unreleased until appearing as a superbly packaged 1998 Rockadelic LP, reproduced in its entirety on this Gear Fab CD. So is it worth all the archival fuss? Mostly, yes, it really is. Stone Garden is an always blistering and often thrilling racket that splits the difference between the plundering depths of hard rock and the mind-excursion highs of psychedelia (or, more precisely, acid rock), carving out a nifty Western patch of its own. A heady trick for a group of boys from the potato state in the year of Woodstock, and, if dated in minor ways, still body-rattling music decades after the fact. There is some dense riffage (the re-recorded version of "Oceans," "It's a Beautiful Day," an awesome "Woodstick") that comes as close to proto-heavy metal shredding as anything else recorded in or around 1969 (that includes Steppenwolf, Black Sabbath, Iron Butterfly, and Blue Cheer), and the band had both an affinity and knack for scintillating, dual-guitar electric blues ("Stop My Thinking"), although the album's sole outright misstep, "SF Policeman Blues," apes early Grateful Dead a little too closely. But there is plenty of consciousness-expanding, detail-intriguing, and ominous melodic shifts, nifty but queasy coats of echo, Zappa-esque avant-garde effects ("Bastard"), and surprisingly mature and hip lyrics -- even if the performances are not exactly nuanced. Subtle Stone Garden was not. But the music can cut you off at the knees and knock the wind out of you, which is pretty impressive stuff. CD $10 SKU:18837

COLOGNE CURIOSITIES -The Nuggets of krautrock !-Label:FLASHBACK (UK) Collects for the first time on vinyl, all the otherwise unpublished/un-reissued material that originally appeared on the three Unknown Deutschland - The Krautrock Archive CDs released on Virgin in 1996. These CD only releases were originally compiled by Trevor Manwaring (Paratactile, Impetus, Virgin, Harmonia Mundi) from tapes supplied to him by Toby Robinson. Toby, aka The Mad Twiddler, aka Genius P. Orridge, is well-known to krautrock collectors as one of a number of engineers working at Stockhausen's WDR and Dierks Studio in Cologne in the mid-1970s, where he assisted on recordings by many famous kraut bands such as Can,Birth Control, Mythos and Dzyan. The recordings included here were made between 1972 and 1976 using studios in and around Cologne, produced by Toby Robinson for his own amusement. Bands would come in for practice sessions, to record demos, and during slack periods, impromptu jams would happen. Most of these sessions were recorded by Toby, and they feature Toby himself plus a revolving cast of friends and musicians (some of them apparently big kraut names under pseudonym). Including lost-in-time bands/studio projects like Astral Army, Fuerrote, Spirulina and Baal among others, the music here ranges from killer proto-new wave kraut psych to wild space rock, proto-ambient electronic, dark psychedelia and raw kosmische sounds with lots of analog synths/Moog. It was during that time in Cologne, that Toby, along with Fluxus artist Robin Page, gave birth to the mysterious and controversial Pyramid label, for which these tracks were originally made for. 24-bit domain remaster from the original master tapes. Insert with detailed liner notes by Alan Freeman (Ultima Thule, The Crack In The Cosmic Egg (2007)). Also features: Chronos, Neil Andersen and Ten To Zen. RIYL: Pink Floyd, Gila, Cluster, Hawkwind, Ash Ra Tempel, Amon Düül II, Popol Vuh, Cosmic Jokers. COMP LP $25 SKU:18342

REMBRANDT RECORDS STORY: OPEN UP YOUR MIND 1966-67 - PLUS+ 7 (60s garage psych) - Label:BREAK-A-WAY REMBRANDT Records, a Chicago based Garage and Psychedelic label of the sixties. After the first release by the Nite-Owls failed to chart, Rembrandt Records’ owner Reggie Weiss moved in a different direction. His next release, “Open Up Your Mind” by the Nuchez, merged pop with psychedelic music. The song was based on an LSD trip and response to the single was positive. Soon other psych and psych-pop singles were issued by The Circus, The Nickel Bag, and Monday’s Children. Cash Box magazine began plugging Rembrandt Records during the fall of 1966. By 1967, Weiss was devoting all of his time to promoting a high-school band called The Lemon Drops. He wrote another LSD inspired song titled “I Live In The Springtime” for the band. Unfortunately, the single was unable to chart, even regionally. Over the ensuing decades though, the reputation of The Lemon Drops, The Nuchez, The Nite-Owls and other Rembrandt artists has grown immeasurably. This compilation contains the most important singles sides issued on Rembrandt Records between 1966-1967, plus a number of essential previously unreleased versions that are appearing for the first time ever on vinyl. The fourteen recordings on this album make it apparent that Rembrandt Records was way ahead of its time when these treasures from the psychedelic 60’s were recorded. First 500 copies with 7" Single incl. two unreleased 1967 first time on vinyl recordings by the Nite-Owls. COMP LP $18 SKU:16555

ABSTRACTS- Hey Let’s Go Now(60s Brit invasion style) SALE - Label:BREAKAWAY They were one of the first bands to utilize a light show and besides their sole 45, their legacy contains a cache of unreleased period recordings, some of them made for Columbia Records in 1964. Finally, over four decades later, this album collects the band’s entire studio material alongside two excellent sounding 1966 live tracks. An in-depth insert with a wealth of never-before-seen-photos traces the history of the band that brought “Abstractmania” to the New York area in the sixties. It’s a pleasure for Break-A-Way Records to celebrate the return of The Abstracts and hear them shout again, “Hey, Let´s Go Now”… TRACKLISTINGS ON SITE LP $15 SKU:13551

ANTORCHA- ST (incredible late 60s/early 70’s anarchistic acid/psych rock tracks ) Label:VAM MEXICO Housed in nice gatefold cover, with liner notes, pictures, discography and poster insert. Official limited edition vinyl from the original masters, featuring incredible late 60s/early 70’s anarchistic acid/psych rock tracks with fuzz, organs and all around great vibe. After the split of Las Antorchas, Victor Motta Aviles and band mate Omar Cortes Gaviño teamed up with Victor's brother Guillermo and continued as Antorcha. Along with Náhuatl and Toncho Pilatos, Antorcha were one of the few groups in Mexico that managed to break the influences of foreign bands—and government oppression—and find their own (demented) sound. In fact, Antorcha set out to cerate an anarchist awareness among young people in the era; they understood anarchy as “respect to youth, the right to free-thinking, and breaking political and religious taboos.” And the music—acid psychedelic rock, with intelligent use of fuzz guitar and a strong rhythm section. Greats stuff from start to finish—all originals—that we can easily rate as some of the best psych rock ever made in Mexico! This LP has all of the band’s EP and single tracks, plus one from their only album, which came out at the end of their career. LP $17 SKU:19497

ANTORCHAS, LAS - ST (ultra-rare 60s Mexican psych w. liner notes, and a poster insert that replicates the Orfeon EP art) - Label:VAM MEXICO Las Antorchas were formed in 1965 by five college students in Mexico City. They released only one EP on Orfeon, but had recorded enough material for an album. They split around 1968/69, but after a line-up change they continued under the name of Antorcha. Thanks to the persistence of VAM Records and record producer Manuel Alvarez Valdez, we now have all known material of Las Antorchas, including their Orfeon material. Their early sounds are rock/beat influenced, with most relying on organ and vocals. But the excellent ‘Dime’ is a really great acid-punk track. Truly underground Mexican rock, waiting to be discovered. This edition has liner notes, and a poster insert that replicates the Orfeon EP art LP $17 SKU:15111

ARCESIA-Reachin' (rare 70’s private press acid-rock/ pop, gatefold, w insert and lyrics -Label:GUERSSEN RECORDS (SPAIN) A classic since year zero of rare record collecting, Reachin' Arcesia has always been the focus of many rumors and bizarre stories. Guerssen sets the record straight with this, the first ever legitimate reissue of this legendary album. John Arcesi was a veteran singer of the big band era who, in the early '70s, recorded a pop album with help from an anonymous hip studio musicians. The album was released in a private edition of 300 copies and most of them were given away to family and friends. In the late '80s, one of those copies was unearthed by record dealer Paul Major, who was one of the first people to appreciate the singularity of Reachin' Arcesia. Since then, the album, which mixes over-the-top crooner vocals with late '60s acid-rock and pop arrangements, has developed a reputation as a lounge-psych/real people masterpiece. Remastered and presented in a gatefold sleeve with the original artwork on the back and a new cover design on the front. Includes insert with lyrics. Features detailed liner notes and rare photos in the inner gatefold, telling the real story of John Arcesi. LP $19 SKU:16346

D- MEN - I Wanna Shout 4 page insert (US mid 1960's british invasion influenced Garage Rock and Roll.)- Label:BREAKAWAY Take the 14 tunes of this platter, add a band named The D-Men, and you've got a driving, shaking demonstration of US mid 1960's british invasion influenced Garage Rock and Roll. The D-Men are best remembered today for their minor hit success with 45’s such as “I Just Don’t Care” or “So Little Time”. Their biggest success and recognition though, came in 1967 under their new name “The Fifth Estate” when they charted nationwide with their baroque rock adaptation “Ding Dong! The Witch Is Dead”. But it’s the 1964 – 66 recorded tracks on this platter which were first played to the neighbourhood kids and then to wild fans which often brought the house down. Included are “Boom Boom," "Hi Heel Sneakers," and their unreleased demo recording of The Stones "Empty Heart". This punctuates its garage rock beat, with a fuzz ing deep guitar riff and sing ing with the sinister resentment that certifies the track as Nuggets ready. But the band had much more to provide than just cover material. With a gift for writing hooks and catchy melodies a string of excellent originals exposes the hidden side of The D-Men perfectly. "Like I Love You" recaptures the Anglopop charms of the British Invasion, even self-consciously sprinkling Fab Four-isms. "Don't You Know," is a song laced with the organ and guitar interplay ideally suited to take on The Animals, The Searchers, and The Dave Clark Five. More Beatlesque notions are provided in "Love Could Show Me", "I Just Don’t Care" and "Don't You Know," tracks that typify the group's early Merseybeat style. A long lost punk rock gem such as "When I'm Gone" explodes with all the subtlety of The Kingsmen's "Long Green" mugging The Kinks' "Till The End Of The Day," as Paul Revere and The Raiders' "Just Like Me" gets ready to pounce. The outstanding “So Little Time”, earned meager attention beyond the regional market. In truth, it deserves a place among the great, if overlooked, slices of hard-edged East Coast folk rock. All these tracks make up a significant part of the group's legacy. A legacy that will only be complete with such recordings as "It's Cruel," the psychedelic "Night On Fire," and the explosive live recording of "I Wanna Shout". This collection has the flamable stuff of the mid 60s beat generation – it’s something the kids could shake it up to. If you didn’t do then, do it now! The disc features painstakingly remastered sound and a 4-page insert with rare photos from the band’s scrapbook and a detailed band history written by Joseph Tortelli LP $16 SKU:16045

JODI - Pops de vanguardia (rare 70s S American JANGLY POP GARAGE!) - Label:OUT-SIDER (SPAIN) .The best lo–fi garage album from South America? Ahead of its time raw & homemade Sixties garage, jangly pop and basement psych sounds from Paraguay! Originally released in 1971 as a private pressing, "Pops de Vanguardia" by JODI contains tracks mostly written and recorded in 1969 (with some dating back to 1966) by brothers Joern and Dirk Wenger at their homemade "Jodi Experimental Studio" in Paraguay. Joern and Dirk, born in Paraguay but of German origin, started playing in beat / psychedelic band The Rabbits, who released a very rare EP in 1969. After the group split, Joern and Dirk travelled to Germany, were they studied arts and received musical lessons from none other than Stockhausen. The two brothers had built their own homemade studio and they spent hours and hours recording songs and experimenting to create their own sound effects (echo, reverb, etc). They called their music "Spontaneous Pop". "Pops De Vanguardia" was recorded at their own rudimentary studio with two tape recorders. Joern plays guitar, organ and he was the lead vocalist, while Dirk plays drums and percussions. From ultra–catchy garage–pop to killer instrumental Farfisa numbers and proto–psychedelic sounds. JODI could be seen as precursors of the indie–pop and lo–fi garage which would appear some decades later. *Ultra rare and obscure album from Paraguay reissued for the first time *Insert with detailed liner notes in English / Spanish and rare photos *LP version includes digital download coupon featuring the album plus bonus tracks. JOHN THE CONQUEROR - ST LTD EDITION of 100 on MELLOW YELLOW VINYL LAST COPIES! - Label:ALIVE John The Conqueror’s self-titled debut album is an amalgamation of the many sounds and styles (old and new) mined from both the North and the South"It’s all smokestacks, greasy ball bearings, mudslides, and corn liquor swilled from mason jars; raggedly scorching guitar riffs, a thunderous rhythm section, and howled vocals. ‘Say What You Want’ rockets me off my rear every time." – Brian Greene / Happening Magazine $20 SKU:14630

JOINT EFFORT -Final Effort (intriguing folk/rock/psych 1974)-Label:VOID/HALLUCINATIONS RECORDS (USA) With its immediately recognizable M C Escher cover, this intriguing folk/rock/psych release from 1974 is another incredibly rare album enjoying its first legitimate reissue. A Joint Effort's Final Effort was originally recorded and released by Canada's University Of New Brunswick on its Little Records label (Little Records 101); despite its lack of wider recognition, this is generally regarded by those who know as a diverse and eclectic album with a number of outstanding tracks. One pundit described it as 'a weird mix of early CSNY, with shades of Perth County Conspiracy and a dash of early Eagles thrown in.' The first side, with the superb 'Winter' is particularly impressive—largely acoustic hippy folk rock with the occasional electric guitar thrown in for good measure. Side two, however, is an altogether rockier affair with standout tracks 'Greed For Goldand,' an up-tempo fuzzed-out cover of ‘A Horse With No Name’ combining effectively to elevate Final Effort to a different musical plane. Original cover has been reproduced as well as rare original insert. LP $14 SKU:19256

LIBERTY BELL - Thoughts and Visions 67-69 (Texas garage psych ) -Label:BREAKAWAY Corpus Christie, Texas 1967 - the town is a hotbed for young music groups. One of the local bands to cause attention is called The Zulus. The group plays local gigs, enjoys a certain popularity and a record deal is overdue. Carl Becker, co-owner of J-Beck Records, who had already managed the Zakary Thaks, offers the band a contract for his newly established Cee-Bee Label. On Beckers suggestion the band changes their name to LIBERTY BELL and in 1967 their debut 45 'The Nazz Are Blue' b/w 'Big Boss Men' gets released. The name Liberty Bell is indissoluble wedded with other self penned devasting garage recordings such as 'That's How It Will Be', 'For What You Lack' or the unreleased 'I Can See'. In 1968 lead singer Ronnie Tanner leaves the band and gets replaced by former Zakary Thaks lead singer Chris Gerniottis. The change in line-up and the arising spirit of time gives a more psychedelic edge to the band's sound and leads to another load of classic Gerniottis written scorching fuzz recordings such as 'Reality Is The Only Answer', 'Recognition' or 'Look For Tomorrow'. For the first time in 25 years, the music of the Liberty Bell is available again on vinyl. Brillant Five-Star-Texas-Garage-Punk - always and ever! LP $17 SKU:16268

MARK “PORKCHOP” HOLDER-AUTOGRAPHED! Death and the Blues- 50 NUMBERED A STARBURST VINYL, POSTER, BADGE -Label:ALIVE Guitarist, singer, harmonica player, and songwriter MARK PORKCHOP HOLDER is a founding member of the seminal Tennessee punk rock blues band The Black Diamond Heavies (with John Wesley Myers aka James Leg, and Van Campbell of the band King Mud).MARK PORKCHOP HOLDER plays the blues, and his music is the sound of the truth. He has traveled around the world and the US, and played at festivals, clubs, in the streets, at churches, in public toilets, army surplus stores, and in a mental hospital or two. After more than a decade of struggling with depression and addiction, he has finally come back home, in Chattanooga TN, and assembled a first rate power trio.
His debut “Let It Slide” is a blistering blues album that marries both the modern and the traditional. “Let It Slide” has been described by the Chattanooga Pulse as “Boogie, sans bullshit. Dirty roadhouse music. Juke Joint jamming. Swamp rock. Too rock for blues, too blues for rock, the music is hungry, hard and mean." LP $30 SKU:19269

RAINBOW PRESS- There's a War On (68 psych insert with liners ) SALE -Label:OUT-SIDER (Spain) Out-Sider presents the first legit reissue of There's a War On by The Rainbow Press, a cool US '68 psychedelic concept album with all the right moves: solid songwriting, refreshing harmonies, studio effects, organ, fuzz guitar, electric piano, sunshine/baroque touches -- think The Rainy Daze, Strawberry Alarm Clock, The Doors. The Rainbow Press evolved from The Continental Divide, a college band from New York containing members from two previous British invasion groups: The Group and The Specs. They were Bill Yergin on drums, Dave Troup on bass, Larry Milton on electric piano and 12-string guitar, Marc Ellis on guitar, Charlie Osborne on organ, and Joe Groff on vocals. All the members sang vocal harmonies and the twin electric piano/organ action gave the band an unusual and cool sound. In 1968, Audio Fidelity approached them and a contract was secured. The band changed their name to the more groovy-sounding The Rainbow Press and sessions for their first album started at Radio City in New York. There's a War On saw the light in 1968 on the Mr. G label (the "hip" branch of Audio Fidelity). It's hard to believe this perfectly recorded psychedelic beauty was made by college students! Remastered sound; includes insert with liner notes telling the band's story for the first time. LP $18 SKU:16564

LITTLE MURDERS - Hi Fab (Aussie Power Pop)-Label:OFF THE HIP Beginning as a new wave punk band in 1979 who went on to become kings of the Melbourne Mod scene before dissolving in 1985 after playing possibly every gig and pub in Melbourne at the time. Their first album Stop was released posthumously on Au Go Go records.Ten years after that saw Little Murders return with 3 albums on Swerve Records, which garnered praise both here and overseas. The last of these was released in 2001 and that looked like that was it for the Murders.
However in 2009 Off The Hip re-released the Stop album together with a bunch of early studio recordings. The band started playing to promote the album and then it just jelled so well the band went on to release Dig For Plenty and Go on Off the Hip. The sounds and the songs just kept getting better each time.
Which leads us to the new album 'Hi-Fab' The title comes from the letters page of an old sixties pop magazine called Fabulous. A magazine that was an introduction to the world of pop for rob Griffiths way back then. And on this album rob has written 10 power pop gems. But they wouldnt be gems without the pedigree of musicians on the album. Rod Hayward ex Dave Graney and the Coral Snakes, Tony Robertson ex-Hitmen Danny McDonald ex-Oscarlima and solo artist and Mick Barclay ex Paul Kelly, Weddings Parties anything and more. Plus Anna Burley and Craig Pilkington from the Killjoys on backing vocal and brass and keys. Craig was also in charge of recording the album at Audrey Studios. LP $13 SKU:18459
