CRYSTAL SYPHON- FAMILY EVIL/ ELEPHANT BALL (SF 60s)Label:GEAR FAB Comes in an old-style “tip-on” jacket with a digital download. Plying their trade in the fertile San Francisco scene of the late '60s, Crystal Syphon's name was only known to aficionados through viewing copies of old SF gig posters and through the index of bands at the back of Ralph Gleason's book on the rise of Jefferson Airplane. Then both their studio and live 1967-1969 archival recordings were discovered that replaced the imagination with true grooves in 2012 and 2015 with the release of 2 LPs on Roaratorio Records. Trying to find comparison with other Bay area bands from that era has proven a bit fruitless as they don't specifically evoke any of the heavy hitters of the era. They have a bit of a dreamy, stoned vibe with some great harmonies and some have compared their style to Quicksilver Messenger Service (John Cipollina was their idol!!) as well as H.P. Lovecraft. As with so many bands of the era, the draft, time and declining fortunes signaled the end of the band. There is some great guitar work alongside the Farfisa organ in the extended jams, and fans of the west-coast sound should delight in these recordings. CD $14 SKU:23863

DAYBREAK-ST(rare garage psych 1971)-Label:GEAR FAB This is one of the rarest Garage/Psych lps ever recorded. MOCK DUCK - TEST Record (60s fuzzed out rarity)Label:GEAR FAB Well, we don't know what else to call this project because there were only 14 acetates made of their live recordings at The Village Bistro in Vancover, B.C. in October 1968. But
never fear, for we have unearthed the master Tapes form those sessions plus a lot more unreleased live and Studio recordings from this same period, including the 12 minute long studio session of June, 1968. Rising from the ashes of such famous Vancouver bands as The United Empire Loyalists, Cement City Cowboys and Six Cylinder, this band played a style of music that crossed between a fuzzed out John Coltrane sound to one of hard driving rock with Farfisa organ and blazing guitars and hard-edged vocals. Includes all their 45s releases plus other unreleased studio tracks. Don't pay $2,000 for an original copy of the acetate….just buy this release!!! CD $10 SKU:19301

The first title here is the Projection Company's great 1967 Custom release 'Gimme Some Lovin', featuring fuzzed out guitars and wild organs and scorching vocals. Also present is Scott Carpenborg's classic 1971 free form 'Fantastic Party'. While you may expect cheesy orchestra music it's actually the rawest, dopest and wildest psychedelic groove one could imagine. Stomping breaks, haunting spooky organ sounds and wet swampy bass lines from the very beginning to the last groove, completed with some strange sci-fi sounds and stereo FX. The LSD was certainly flowing richly during these sessions! CD $10 SKU:21727

PRETTY THINGS- EMOTIONS digipak -Label:MADFISH The Pretty Things were one of the most underrated rhythm & blues bands to come out of the mid-60's British rock explosion. So well-loved by Brits, they were often thought of in the same breath as The Rolling Stones. And, like a lot of great rhythm & blues based groups to come put of England, they stepped somewhat uneasily into the precarious psychedelic music explosion. However, in all fairness, The Pretty Things did come up with a pretty fine and original album, “Emotions." Superbly well-orchestrated (especially the gorgeous "The Sun," one of the album's standouts), The Pretty Things didn't lose sight of their R&B leanings, as tracks such as 'There Will Never Be Another Day' show. This reissue is also buttressed by a generous selection of bonus tracks seven of them - making it even more worthwhile. The highlight those is five remixes (four album cuts and "Progress") that remove many superfluous overdubs. If you want to, you can pretend that this “remixes EP" and the "Defecting Gray" single are the bridge between their blues and psychedelic albums…. if that’s what you like to do when listening to great music. Digipack packaging, complete with an 8-page booklet featuring sleeve notes from journalist and editor Paul Du Noyer (NME, Q, MOJO).The Pretty Things were fundamental in the development of British music. They enjoyed much critical success and were a huge influence on artists as diverse as David Bowie, Aerosmith, The Ramones, Bob Dylan, The Sex Pistols, The White Stripes, Kasabian, The Lightning Seeds and countless more. Their music has been used in feature films including Guy Ritchie's 'RocknRolla', and on TV shows as recent as Britannia II. The band created a rich music catalogue including the classic albums The Pretty Things, S.F. Sorrow & Parachute, and remained a significant artistic and creative force throughout their entire 55+ year career. They have continued to release iconic and influential recordings, right up to the present day, with a new album due for release later this year. They also remained a potent live act, as is shown on 'The Final Bow', highlighting their last electric gig at the O2 which featured special guests including Van Morrison and David Gilmour accompanying Phil and The Pretty Things live on stage. CD $12 SKU:23997

PRETTY THINGS-GET THE PICTURE- digipak-Label:MADFISH The band’s much-beloved second album, with six bonus tracks and liner notes. "The Pretty Things' second album, "Get the Picture?” (first released December 1965), has not only been remastered from original session tapes so the group sounds like their amps are practically right in your lap, but it's also been expanded to 18 songs with the addition of tracks cut for singles and EP releases from the same sessions. That's enough to recommend it even to casual fans — this is now a record that's just a few notches short of Rolling Stones level in the charisma department, and pretty tough any way you want to look at it. On 'Rainin' in My Heart,' they sound exactly like the Stones from the same era, missing only the little harmonica flourish that might have been added on the break. The liner notes go into the history of the group during this period in delightful detail, and the histories of various songs, most particularly 'L.S.D.,' which, amazingly, was cut as a demo and never redone for release, but just put out the way it was. In their good moments here, the Pretty Things approach Rolling Stones' territory, and even in their off moments, they're flying at the same level as the Kinks' album tracks.” —Bruce Eder, AllMusic The Pretty Things were fundamental in the development of British music. They enjoyed much critical success and were a huge influence on artists as diverse as David Bowie, Aerosmith, The Ramones, Bob Dylan, The Sex Pistols, The White Stripes, Kasabian, The Lightning Seeds and countless more. PRETTY THINGS-GREATEST HITS -LTD ED DBL-Label:MADFISH CD #1 25 Tracks of the very best from the dirtiest, hairiest, loudest, most controversial and influential band the world has ever seen CD #2- The Pretty Things Incredible 100 Club show from December 2010, a piece of Rock 'n' Roll history. Essential early British R&B sound from the band that stubbornly refused to lie down to popular demand; The Pretty Things religiously stuck to their guns by making great, exciting, challenging and often violently aggressive records that just weren’t quite acceptable enough to slot into the breathlessly presented but carefully airbrushed new youth-culture media. Includes the instantly recognisable ‘Rosalyn,' 'Don’t Bring Me Down,' 'Cry To Me' and many other brilliant evidences of a musicianship at the forefront of an evolving rock music scene through the 60s, 70s and 80s. The band’s songwriting prowess is best highlighted when, after their brief fling with minor R&B hits alongside such bands as The Rolling Stones, The Animals, The Yardbirds and Manfred Mann, they hit the ground running with music that fueled the “Swinging Sixties” and Mod Culture in the late 60s. The shift to Psychedelic Rock saw The Pretty Things ensconced in Abbey Road Studios, alongside The Beatles and The Pink Floyd, to record the world’s first rock opera, "S.F. Sorrow.” This spearheaded the London psychedelic revolution alongside a new completely breed of acts, like The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, Jimi Hendrix and the aforementioned Pink Floyd. So, although this “Greatest Hits” album has few charted songs, it is a truly meaningful historical document of the greatest band with the fewest hits, but with the best music.

The Pretty Things’ "Greatest Hits" features as the final track: 'Mr. Tambourine Man,' which was originally offered to The Pretty Things — who turned it down before The Byrd’s famous version was recorded; the Pretty’s finally recorded their own take in 2016, keeping true to their style. Booklet includes individual track commentary from band members Dick Taylor and Phil May, plus liner notes from long-time manager Mark St. John. The double CD, presented in a 6-panel digipack packaging, contains a special bonus CD of an exclusive recorded performance of the band’s debut self-titlted album at London’s infamous 100 Club. The Pretty Things were fundamental in the development of British music. PRETTY THINGS- PARACHUTE -digipak-Label:MADFISH If "S.F. Sorrow" is the Pretty Things' "Sgt. Pepper," "Magical Mystery Tour,” and "Yellow Submarine" wrapped in one, then “Parachute" is their more succinct "White Album" and "Abbey Road." It's not just a time line comparison. The Pretties made this fascinating LP in the same studio as the Fab Four, London's Abbey Road, with Beatles engineer Norman Smith producing. 'The Good Mr. Square' replicates the three-part harmony the Beatles were so proud of on ‘Because.' Two songs later, the group assembles a brief, interconnected three-song suite like the famous ones on side two of Abbey Road. Bassist Wally Allen's vocals on tracks such as 'Sickle Clowns' have the same throaty, mad anguish that John Lennon exhibited on 'Yer Blues' and 'Happiness Is a Warm Gun.' If "S.F. Sorrow" is psychedelic rock grandeur, then “Parachute" is its more bitter twist, the dream dying and the witching hour upon us. Yet, if this isn't as much of a triumph, the creative neurons are still firing throughout a multi-varied, cohesive LP. Like "S.F. Sorrow," it's a concept LP. This time the topic is a generation caught between the conflicting calls of (rural) peace, love, and boredom, and (urban) sophistication, sex, and squalor in a harsh world. Somehow the departure of the band's main creative force, Dick Taylor, didn't diminish the writing and inspired variety. Allen stepped up big time into the collaborator role with singer Phil May. The harmonies remain a strong point on an otherwise rock-inclined record, and the nasty edge of perfectly balanced bombast in the best songs have been a lost art ever since. (There are eighteen minutes of good stuff tacked on the Snapper edition, taken from singles.)" CD $ SKU:23999

PSYCHEDELIC MOODS PART 2 - Sunset Love & Inner Sanctum Journey Thru Inner Space)Label:CICADELIC After releasing the “Psychedelic Moods” album, in October of 1966, Mark Barkan envisioned another psychedelic album for his next release. It was to be performed by a Greenwich Village band called “Inner Sanctum”. The theme of the album was to be a psychedelic journey into the various psyches of the mind. The trip started with a journey into the past (The House Of Yesterday) then covered the inner workings of the mind (ID) then the descent into madness (Hydro Pyro) hallucination (Purple Floating) and finally culminating in nirvana (Snow Petals). Unfortunately, Barkan was unable to find a record company willing to lease the masters and so they languished for decades unreleased. Now, at long last the masters for this aborted album are mixed from the original four track tapes and forty plus years later the psychedelic sounds of “Inner Sanctum” are now ready, willing, and able to blow your mind. Sunset Love” was comprised of band members from New Mexico and Texas. In the fall of 1968, thirteen original songs and two covers were recorded for a potential album, but nothing was ever released. “Sunset Love’s” lush harmonies, soaring vocals, superior song writing, and flower power consciousness pervaded their songs with a depth and quality unheard of from most 60s’ bands. While their sound can be compared to such bands as “The Mamas and The Papas”, “The Peanut Butter Conspiracy”, “Spanky and Our Gang”, and “The Love Exchange”, “Sunset Love” had their own inimitable style that transcended a generic stereo-type. Had Sunset Love released their album in the 60’s, there is no doubt it would have been an instant rarity of excellence. The “Sunset Love” tapes are sourced from the original stereo versions and reveal the great harmonies and surrealistic lyrics of an undeservedly overlooked and forgotten band from the late 60’ CD $10 SKU:12399

QUICKSILVER MESSENGER SERVICE -Live at the Filmore 4th of Feb 1967- DBL Label:BEAR The second in a series of rare live recordings by the Bay Area rockers. This 1967 recording contains many highlights including superb versions of 'You Don't Love Me' and 'A Fool for You'. Also includes 'Gold and Silver', 'Walkin' Blues', 'I Hear You Knocking' and 'All Night Worker' and shows the band were flexible and able to put together a set that highlighted their musical dexterity. While the sound quality isn't the best and seems to be in mono, there are nice things to be found here. The band's then line up was David, Greg, John and Gary with Jim Murray who left before the first album. This disc also has guest appearances from Nick Gravenites who appears as a guest vocalist on 'Walkin’ Blues' and 'Year of the Outrage' while Dino Valente shows up for 'A Fool for You' and 'I Can't Believe It.' RADIO KNIVES -CURSED- PROMO (Kinks style Detroit) -Label:DIONYSUS UNSEALED, HOLE THRU BAR CODE, but MINT .With a sound lodged somewhere between the Kinks dirty little pop gems of the late ‘60s and the greasy Detroit rock of the mid-to-late '70s - brothers and sisters – Dionysus Records is proud to present: THE RADIO KNIVES! CURSED is a collection of sinister pop songs that will get you back on your feet and pressed firmly against the stage for the sweatiest show in town. THE RADIO KNIVES' sound and explosive live show set stages on fire through out the East Coast for just under a year before the band decided to jump in the studio with one of garage rock's hottest new producers, Jack Younger (the Coffin Lids/BOMP!, the Turpentine Brothers/Alive Records, the Konks/BOMP!). The RADIO KNIVES’ Dionysus Records debut, CURSED, finds the band lobbing gritty guitar riffs, rolling organ washes, and enough hand claps to make the MC5 jealous through your hi-fi stereo speakers - and you aren't going to mind a bit! CD $5 SKU:17504

RAIN-1971 The Lost Album- Label:JARGON Rain was a popular blues inspired rock band from Rochester, New York. Members were Brad Morse on vocals, Ted Paris on bass, Mick Guerin on drums and led by guitar maestro, Helmut Getto. Rain was a real powerhouse in their day! This legendary band broke up shortly after recording their studio album in 1971. Lost and forgotten for nearly 50 years, the album was never released! '1971... The Lost Album', a collection of original songs that the band recorded in the summer of 1971, was originally planned to be a follow up to their first record, 'Live Christmas Night', which came out on the band's label, Whazoo Records in early 1971. Through fate's twists and turns, the plan changed and the studio album fell by the wayside. Decades later and after lots of detective work, the studio tapes finally surfaced! These eight previously unreleased original songs have finally manifested themselves on CD, and Jargon Records are proud to present to you this epic treasure of rock history as a part of Jargon Records' Time Capsule Series! CD $19 SKU:24271

RAINY DAY SAINTS-All These Strange Ghosts -Cleveland psych, garage punk, pure pop ,prog)Label:GET HIP You don’t have to listen to the Rainy Day Saints for long to surmise that their heady amalgam of psychedelia, garage punk, pure pop and prog-rock is the product of astute music fandom.Rainy Day Saints were born out of frustration, heartache, love and power chords. Setting controls for the heart of the sun is multi instrumentalist Dave Swanson. He and his cohorts parade along the rock and roll route oblivious to the fact that the scenery along the way has most definitely changed. In other words, they do what they want, when they want and for no one else but themselves. Why else would they reference Hawkwind, Roxy Music, Crazy Elephant and Johnny Thunders in one fell swoop! Selfish? Perhaps, but that is not their concern. It’s all about the melodies, the harmonies, the loud guitars, the driving bass, the bashing drums and the snarling saxophone. Things like : “pristine electrified paisley underground jangle”,“a nastier version of The Move and the harder side of the Dream Syndicate”, “an elegant almost British classicism of hazy, psychedelicate pop-rock swirls”, “ Cheap Trick meets The Nazz meets early Flaming Lips”, “reminds me of the Monkees”, and our favorite, “ Mr. Swanson is one talented motherfucker” are just a few of things that have been said about Rainy Day Saints CD $10 SKU:21817

RED TYGER CHURCH - Free Energy (S.F. Glam Dolls style- Label:ALIVE The Velvets, New York Dolls and Bowie clearly figure in the Tyger's musical lexicon, .. there's even an overt 'Hunky Dory' homage closing the album. REDCOATS- Meet The (64-67 POP PSYCH)-Label:DIONYSUS The Redcoats were formed in New Jersey in 1964 and recorded an album's worth of material between 1964 and 1967 that ranges from beat to pop sike. The material sadly never saw the light of day due to a manager who did nothing to advance their career. 35 years later, Bacchus Archives comes to the rescue and releases this 12-song Beatles-inspired gem. CD $5 SKU:18874

REDONDO BEAT - Meet Redondo Beat ( 60s infl. Raspberries/ Bay City Rollers style ) -Label:DIONYSUS Influences run the gamut from early 60s Brill Building son- Meet Redondo Beat ( 60s infl. Raspberries/ Bay City Rollers style ) -gwriters and related East Coast Girl Group sound, Creedence Clearwater Revival, a touch of Doo Wop, the sound of mid-60s convertible top-down summertime Southern California and early 70s teenage AM radio Raspberry City Rollers flavored love-affairs. It is pure pop as seen through the eyes of the best decades of original rock n roll music with all the drive of late 70s punk powered 80s power pop. Dionysus commissioned Southern California Surf artist Damian Fulton to paint the cover and the disc was mastered by The Tikiyaki Orchestras Jim Bacchi. Its a marvelous listening experience that will have you traveling time and bobbing your head to some of the sweetest retro-pop-rock music youve EVER heard! CD $5 SKU:12474

RESONARS - Bright and Dark (for fans of the Byrds, Love, the Easybeats, Moby Grape and the Hollies) Label:GET HIP ‘Bright and Dark’ is the fantastic sophomore album from the Resonars who include Matt Rendon (of the Knockout Pills, Lenguas Largas and Freezing Hands), a longtime fixture on the Tucson, Arizona underground scene. ‘Bright And Dark’ features 12 brand new tracks of brilliant Resonars pop harmony and song-craft that’s equal parts loud garage rock, hard rock ‘n’ roll, reverberated, upbeat folk rock and moody, introspective psychedelic pop. Fans of the Byrds, Love, the Easybeats, Moby Grape and the Hollies will definitely want to pick up this fab slab! CD $10 SKU:21818

RESONARS - LUNAR KIT(for fans of the Byrds, Love, the Easybeats, Moby Grape and the Hollies) Label:GET HIP Truly brilliant! Since 1999’s Bright and Dark, Resonars guitarist Matt Rendon has refined his one-man band methodology so that the illusion of a four-piece combo is practically impenetrable. On this, their third LP, Rendon seems to have absorbed every significant guitar-style and sound between George Harrison’s Rick of ‘63 and Peter Green’s Les Paul of ‘69. But those are just the building blocks. Along with the spot-on harmonies, you might hear various echoes–but these are not pastiches. They are truly classic rock n’ roll tunes!

There’s the expected: the title track, an echo-laden, jangly folk-rock number, here powered by Moon-style drumming along with a raft of soaring harmonies and augmented with a touch more distortion on the guitar. Then there’s the peppy Hollies-like “Under Garden” and “Retro Rocket,” a headlong rush into A2/MC5 territory. “Little Spoiled Baby” is the first sign of any facility toward “ye olde” bloozy boogie. You also get both sides of the “Floor Lamp Eyes” 7-inch released in 2000 via Star Time (ST-8).

Lunar Kit is an elixir of the finest ingredients, able to make a blind man see, or even, possibly, drag you out of you pit of depression. Dig in! CD $10 SKU:24735

ROBBIE AND THE WEREWOLF- Live at the Waleback (Bizarre 1964 monster inspired oddity)-Label:GEAR FAB OK, so here we have one of the weirdest and most bizarre albums ever recorded. Pretty much unsurpassed in its level of incredible strangeness, this ultra-rare album from the early sixties (1964) California coffee- house circuit is like no other. Robbie is a folksinger of the frantic variety with a fetish for monsters. This inspired some of the most bizarre songs ever committed to vinyl. It was at The Wale Back in LA one heady night in 1964, that Robbie's solo act was captured for posterity by engineer Reice Hamel, now renowned as a pioneer of live recording techniques. The patrons lapped up Robbie's act although some of the more faint-hearted may have experienced a frisson of terror as he prowled amongst them, sweat dripping from his beard, laughing maniacally, during his atmospheric 'Dracula' number. With his long red hair and matching beard, Robbie was a striking performer with a manic stage presence, acting out his songs as much as singing them. His set consisted of his original songs and uniquely reworked versions of folk standards, played on a beat-up twelve-string guitar. Robbie would later join The Brain Train in 1967 and his wife Barbara “Sandi” Robison would become the lead vocalist for The Peanut Butter Conspiracy (PBC) . Featuring liner notes from Alan Brackett of The PBC and UK collector extraordinaire Gray Newell. CD $10 SKU:19459

ROCCO'S RED CLOUD -CIRCUS DE PLAGUE (Psych, prog, stoner, blues, rock 60s style)Label:CLOSTRIDIUM Psychedelic, progressive, stoner, blues, rock from Dortmund. The late '60s and early '70s, that was the great time of classic rock trios. With irrepressible energy, boundless passion, improvisation and incredible dynamics, three-pieces like The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Cream, Rory Gallagher's band Taste, Blue Cheer, Mountain or Johnny Winter and his band, revolutionized rock music. Keeping up their tradition, Rocco's Red Cloud, a young trio from the eastern Ruhr area, are getting ready to add new facets to that classic sound. The heavy, psychedelic blues rock sound of the sixties role models is now enriched by the youngsters with the musical benefits of subsequent rock generations, to create their own sound. Limited to 300 copies in digipack. CD $19 SKU:24319

ROCK ISLAND - ST (Chicago 70s psych ) Label:GEAR FAB Their self-titled debut album from 1970. This Chicago-based rock group provides a lot of hard driving rock, psychedelic, acid and R&B sounds that were so prevalent during the 11/6/2019turn of that decade. They would later morph into Rain, who released another LP in 1972. Several members of the band would later go on to play with Paul McCartney!!" CD $10 SKU:11176

ROCKADROME - Royal American 20th Century Blues (rare 60s pop psych) - Label:PACEMAKER Recorded in a time when creativity counted for more than commercial appeal, the album was recorded for the eclectic Sound Canada label. It sold poorly, but was rediscovered as part of the revival in interest in psychedelia; the only problem—copies of the original album were incredibly rare (and incredibly expensive!). The album is a mixture of rock, psych (some of the tracks are definitely Beatles influenced), and a touch of blues. The album opens with 'R.A.T.C.B. Teaser', which is used as a theme throughout the album, with a reprise at the end and the main song later on the disc. The first proper song is 'Very Strange,' a nice taste of psych with some fetching guitar-work, followed by the more bluesy 'Thirteen Miles Down' which includes the requisite blues guitar solo. The title track is split in two and done as a rock version and a psyche/pop version, both of which are very good, and 'There You Go Again' has a Byrdsian chime to it coupled with a Dylan-influenced vocal. 'Inside Out, Inside In' is one of the Beatles-y songs, but there is nothing wrong with that if it is done well, which this is. The intro to 'T.O. Town' has evinced comparisons with the Monkees as it is very similar to 'Last Train To Clarksville', but the song itself is a great garage rocker. 'Ain't It A Shame' is a little too close to goodtime pop for my liking, but put against the high quality of the rest of the album this can be forgiven.Studio owner and executive producer Art Snider (who had discovered and first recorded a young Gordon Lightfoot years earlier) was inspired enough by Rockadrome's first sessions to basically give engineer/producer Ray Lawrence free reign to carry the project in whatever direction it might go. Fortunately, it was an era of experimentation, studio clocks could mostly be ignored, (there was a belief that the best stuff was done after dark) and so Rockadrome was given an after-hours slot. All through that fall and winter, the songs were refined, recorded, tossed and replaced. Contemplated. Even the physical process became a strange routine. The guys would need to phone the studio by 5 pm to check that the evening schedule was open, then scramble into their cars east of Toronto & head down the 401. The results show that the band deserve their reputation. Extensively remastered, this is the first legitimate reissue. CD $10 SKU:12227

CONTENTS ARE - Live Davenport, Iowa 1968 (Iowa legends of psych gem 1969) -Label:ALONA’S DREAM Previously unreleased live recording featuring unheard originals from 1960’s psychedelic legends The Contents Are! •Intense jams for the psychedelic dancehall circa 1968 from these true legends of midwestern rock ’n roll.•Housed in a heavy-duty classic style tip-on jacket including previously unseen pictures and informative liner notes.•Limited editions (respectively) of 500x LPs and 300x Digipak CDsUntil recently, The Contents Are were one of the great forgotten bands of the late 1960’s midwestern psychedelic scene. After their masterpiece LP “Through You” was recorded the band went through their first evolution, switching out bass players Larry Smith for Mick Orton. While honing their new group by hosting a series of live shows in their native Davenport, IA (they were one of the area’s leading draws by this point), Craig was recording the band’s sets using his Ampex two track tape recorder. This album is the result of those recordings. Drawn from his archive of live recordings, they represent the band not only finding their footing after adding a new member but also recording a series of live demos which were then shopped to various producers in the hopes of landing a recording deal and wound up being the catalyst that brought them to Jerry Milam’s Golden Voice Recording Co in South Pekin, IL. It was there they would record their second major album “Four Each Other” which sat unreleased in the band’s archive until it was released via Golden Voice & Alona’s Dream in 2017, to much acclaim! These are more than just a collection of demos; they represent a band in between the early psychedelic folk classic which is their first album and the expansive acid rock evolution of their second album, with many original songs that were only ever played live. The listener can also hear a band who could keep a dancehall moving, a group as capable of being the evening’s entertainers as well as storytellers and poets in the studio. These recordings were restored, carefully mastered and pressed into 160 gram vinyl. Housed in a heavy-duty classic style tip-on jacket including previously unseen pictures and informative liner notes. A rare nine song document of The Contents Are's expansive live sound. Intense jams for the psychedelic dancehall circa 1968 from these true legends of midwestern rock ’n roll. LP $25 SKU:23388
