GILES BROTHERS - 1962-1967 (pre King Crimson prog)-Label:VOICEPRINT (England) The Giles Brothers are famous for being founders of the band Giles Giles and Fripp, which eventually metamorphosed into King Crimson, one of the giants of Progressive rock. The recordings on this album, however, come from a period when the Giles brothers were members of a number of pure pop, R ‘n’ B and soul influenced bands; the Giles brothers were the fraternal rhythm section with six bands: Johnny King And The Raiders, Dave Anthony And The Rebels, The Dowland Brothers And The Soundtracks, The Sands, The Interns, Trendsetters Ltd. and The Brain. Six singles were released by the Dowland Brothers and Trendsetters Ltd., with two additional releases by The Trend and The Brain in 1967. Michael and Peter Giles backed Bo Diddley, Napoleon XIV, and Gene Vincent; they appeared on television shows, and played live on BBC Radio 1's Easybeat, and the group's own four program series. Reviews: “The nine 45’s plus half a dozen EMI out-takes the Giles Brothers appeared on as members of a succession of early-mid '60s pop outfits from the duo's pre-Crimson days make for fascinating listening.” “The good folks at Voiceprint Records have done more than most to keep interest in the brother's earlier work. The Giles, Giles and Fripp album 'The Brondesbury Road Tapes' is a fascinating collection of previously unreleased material which remained for some thirty-odd years in a private collection before Voiceprint issued the album. Now Voiceprint have released the work that the Giles Brothers recorded between 1962 and 1967, and it's going to be something of an eye-opener even for those who have always expected the unexpected from this most extraordinary drummer and bassist... This is a fascinating collection of tracks, that even if they weren't connected by the Giles Brothers would put to shame many of those 1960’s compilations of rare recordings that appear frequently. Although this release has obvious appeal to followers of the Giles Brothers, there is so much here that anyone who has even the slightest interest in British pop music (before and just after those four guys from Liverpool changed the face of music forever) will simply love.” All the tracks come from the personal archives of Peter and Mike Giles. GOLDBERG-Misty Flats (Privately pressed loner-folk gem 1974)Label:LITA Barry Thomas Goldberg was 23 in 1974, the year his Minneapolis power pop group, The Batch, split up. Rudderless, he set about recording solo album Misty Flats, and though few would hear it in its day, he hit on something very special indeed. Where The Batch were a harmony-drenched power pop band in the mold of Big Star and The Rubinoos, Misty Flats was an album of ecstatic desolation, an unhinged loner-folk gem that came from a unique place: “I wanted to make the first punk rock album, and if I’d recorded those songs with a band, maybe that’s what it would’ve been,” Goldberg says. CD $10 SKU:24177

GRAILS- TAKE REFUGE IN CLEAN LIVING (Pink Floyd/Hawkwind style)SAALE! Label:TEMPORARY RESID Now reissued for the first time in nearly 10 years, 'Take Refuge In Clean Living' saw the band pull back its already wide lens on multiple sonic horizons. Opening with a nod to Syd Barret's Pink Floyd, the album begins with morse code and drops into one of the heaviest slowburn grooves in the Grails canon. Sounding something like Hawkwind and Ravi Shankar scoring 'Blade Runner', it's lysergic and earthy for Grails in a new way. The rest of the record moves from blissful Eno-inspired ambience to epic Morriconesque rock hymns, via an unexpected take on a Ventures tune that returns the listener to the very beginnings of instrumental rock music. CD $10 SKU:24673

GREEN SEAGULL- Cloud Cover (60s pop Left Banke, The Kinks style) SAALE! Label:MEGA DODO Cloud Cover' sees Green Seagull develop their fascination for melodic sixties pop and combine it with glorious vocal harmonies to create a mellow Stateside vibe filtered through early '70s UK acts like Brinsley Schwarz and Danny Kirwan-era Fleetwood Mac. Their shared enthusiasm for late '60s baroque psychedelia and 12-string jangle has blossomed into a prolific songwriting team that now includes contributions from their keyboardist Sarah Gonputh. CD $14 SKU:23523

HAZEMAZE-ST slow, blues-infused hard rock- SAALE Label:HEAVY PSYCH SOUNDS The Stockholm trio's eponymous 2018 full-length is just about as good as it gets for all the groove it's giving. As the record spins, its hypnotic gaze takes us back through the maze of time, surrounding us in the electrically charged haze of the feel good era. It sounds for all the world like this could be a contemporary of Ozzy and the boys, though it never condescends to full-on Sabbath worship. No, Hazemaze has found their own way, niching somewhere between the early styles of doom that manifested on both sides of the Atlantic, though I hasten to add "slow, blues-infused hard rock" might be a better descriptor than straight-up "heavy metal." That is, unless this exciting release had come out in the seventies. Back then, it would have been considered the epitome of heavy metal, just as Zeppelin and Priest were in teenage years. Capturing this authentic a sound and making it so alive, so vibrant, so now... well, that is no small feat. CD $14 SKU:24899

HAZLEWOOD, LEE -Something Special-Label:LITA The three years spent on MGM Records between 1966 and 1968 were golden ones for Lee Hazlewood. He spent them working with his muse, Suzi Jane Hokom, writing a still-unreleased book, The Quiet Revenge of Elmo Furback, competing with Phil Spector from their respective studios, and coming up with the formula for the "boy/girl” songs for which he’d become famous. In fact, the unflattering portrait on the cover of Something Special did little to hint at how hip this late-flowering talent (he was in his late 30s when “These Boots Are Made For Walkin’” made him a star songwriter) had become.

The common strand on the MGM trilogy is one of the unexpected happening. They were an ill fit for a major label–experimental, difficult to pigeonhole, and unpredictable. Those descriptors apply nowhere more aptly than Something Special. Where 1966’s The Very Special World Of Lee Hazlewood and 1967’s Lee Hazlewoodism: Its Cause And Cure had employed an arranger, Billy Strange, and a full orchestra, Something Special stripped things back and brought in a flavor of jazz and blues, complete with gravelly-voiced scatting courtesy of collaborator Don Randi. This sat alongside tracks like “Little War” and “Hands,” the kind of late night, acoustic balladeering Hazlewood would later seize for his career-highlight LP, Requiem For An Almost Lady. The sound was that of a stripped-down nightclub jazz/blues/folk combo, fully rejecting the psychedelic music going on all over the world.

The album made clear that forging a career as a serious star was not at the top of Hazlewood’s agenda, and at the third opportunity, he’d let the listener in on the joke. Tellingly, Hokom recalls Hazlewood saying the MGM albums were his “expensive demos. I’m sure that MGM thought that they would be successful.” Little chance of that with Something Special –it was originally released only in Germany. The same year, Hazlewood founded the LHI imprint, and began building his own empire, one we’ve been lovingly archiving for the past few years. We now present this missing link in the story, three albums that generated some of Hazlewood’s best–and most varied–work.

HEAVY FEATHER - MOUNTAIN OF SUGAR (60s/70s rock psych vibe) SAALELabel:THE SIGN Root rockers Heavy Feather are back with their second album 'Mountain of Sugar'. The band have '60s and '70s rock influences, and blues vocals at the chore of the release. The album has also an even rawer, heavier sound than its predecessor, still with the root rock and psychedelic touch at the very core. CD $17 SKU:24426

PLUNDERED, VOL. 3-THE STING-RAYS UNSTUNG -Label:RED BARON 'THE STING-RAYS UNSTUNG' - A collection of primitive rock'n'roll that inspired the Sting-Rays. Holy fuck! SURFBEAT BEHIND THE IRON CURTAIN -Planetary Pebbles 1 (Primitive, rare Eastern European 60s garage) ONE ONLY! Label:AIP Featuring underground garage and surf rock musical artists east of the Iron Curtain that were recorded between 1963 and 1966. It is the first installment of the Planetary Pebbles series, which was a sub-series to the Pebbles series, and was released on AIP Records, on August 12, 1997 .Considering the Eastern European bands represented had little opportunity to record, the tracks are primitive in comparison to their Western contemporaries. Nonetheless, the album includes arguably among the rarest material available in the Pebbles series extensive catalog. COMP LP $50 SKU:22300

PENTAGON -Die Vertreibung der bösen. (70s German blues prog) SAALE! .Label:GARDEN OF DELIGHTS (Germany): "Pentagon was the first group on the small Munich label German Blues and Underground, which later on also released the two Siloah records. The 7” single was supposed to be followed by an LP, but it never got beyond the dubplate/acetate stage, a kind of demo pressing. A music cassette, however, was released, the simple cover of which was used for the LP cover, too. Although very young at the time, the three musicians already played respectable blues rock. The tracks of side 2 of the vinyl album were taken from the master tape, the tracks of side 1 were digitally decrackled by Cedar’s NoNoise system. It’s a first-class find, saved from oblivion in the very last minute. The title means in English “The expulsion of the evil spirits from the Pentagon”. Limited edition of 1000 numbered LPs. Comes with 8-page LP sized booklet. LP $18 SKU:20883

PROTAGONISTS-1983 - 1985 (Rare mid 80s Chicago Punk) BLUe SAALE! Label:ALONA’S DREAM Rare mid-1980's suburban Chicago (Naperville!) punk Thirteen song LP includes the band’s hard to find 7” alongside unreleased studio tracks, demos & live cuts. Naperville’s Protagonists formed in the wake of the first wave of Chicago hardcore punk. Instead of being inspired by the first generation weirdo Chicago punks like Silver Abuse and Tutu & The Pirates or the hardcore legion that followed (AOF, ROTA, Negative Element, etc.), Protagonists drew their motivation from sources as diverse as punk icons Buzzcocks, The Dickies and The Damned to prime era 50’s and 60’s teen anthems (Buddy Holly, Dell Shannon, and The Monkees).

The group formed in a Naperville high school, played local talent shows and teen dance parties, and hooked up with older kids (Reaction Formation) who helped them get radio gigs and put out a tape recorded by Phil Bonnet, influential recording engineer and long-time friend. The band followed up with a 7” for Reaction Formation’s label Nova which garnered positive reviews but they were shortly after pulled apart by the usual strains on the end of adolescent trajectories.

This compilation gathers their original tape, unheard outside of the suburban Chicago teen punk scene, and pairs it with the songs from their hard-to-find 7” EP (originally pressed in 1,000 copies in 1985). The B-side features basement demos of original songs recorded by the band as well some great covers which show they could rock as a punk dance band.

Limited Edition 160 gram blue vinyl (500 pressed) in a 20pt board jacket with full color printed inner sleeve featuring (lots of) previously unseen photos of the band and detailed liner notes. LP $22 SKU:23390

GONZALEZ, WALLY -Wally on the Road 70s (heavy acid blues psych)-Label:VICOR ENTERTAINMENT (Philippines) First off, don’t be deceived by the title—this is a studio album all the way; altogether a different sort of album from “Tunog Pinoy”, thudding out of the gate with the monumental ‘Kailan Pa Kaya’, syrupy treated vocals, John Bonham-esque drumming and all; dig too, if you will, the Zeppelin vibe of ‘Screw’ before sailing into the trippy, acoustic ‘Tattong Araw’, or the legendary ‘Wally’s Blues’; more effects than the earlier record, sounding more like newfound recordings from the late 1960’s than a mid-70’s record—this has more psychedelic credentials than most reissues which get that label bestowed upon them; you might say that while “Tunog Pinoy” is classic rock in the best sense, this is classic psychedelia, in the best sense. CD $10 SKU:18972

GOSPELBEACH- Let It Burn with NEAL CASAL Label:ALIVE Featuring Neal Casal (Chris Robinson Brotherhood), the collective’s slow-burning ballad “Bad Habits” captures the spirit of the Grateful Dead in the nakedness of 1970 (Workingman’s Dead, American Beauty) and the Band at their best without being burdened by an adherence to a specific era. Straightforward and soul-searing, the tune is a harbinger of the full album’s truth-seeking and deep honesty. – POPMATTERS CD $10 SKU:21571

This is not a punk record, except perhaps in spirit, but it isn’t any worse for that."—Steve Albini CD $10 SKU:14882

HANDS -Caviar Bobsled (70s style prog) -Label:SHROOMANGEL "Hands was originally active back in the '70s, but time and circumstances didn't see them acquire a great deal of success back then. They reformed in 2001 however, and have been a going entity ever since. "Caviar Bobsled" is their most recent studio album, released in 2015 via the US label ShroomAngel Records. The music is deceivingly and subtly complex though, so it really needs a few spins before it will settle with you.” —Windhawk, ProgArchives. "For those who have followed the band, their blend of Gentle Giant, Kansas, Camel, and Happy the Man styled prog remains intact, and there's some truly fabulous material here on Caviar Bobsled. There have been a lot of great prog albums released in 2015, and Caviar Bobsled is certainly one of them. Holding back a bit on the bombast, this latest Hands offering combines intricate prog with lush folk and a touch of jazz-fusion for a sound that instantly tickles the senses and keeps you coming back for more. A truly gorgeous album that I can't recommend highly enough!” —Seaoftranquillity.org

HELLMET-Judgement Day !! (legendary 1970 proto metal)Label:SEELIE COURT Thought to be lost forever, Hellmet's legendary 1970 LP is the proto-metal find of the century. Long rumoured to exist amongst hardcore prog collectors, it used to be considered as the missing VO5 Vertigo cata!ogue number. In 1970, two acetates were cut at Oak studios (a 12” and a 7”) and then promptly lost, and those who knew of its rumoured existence decided it was mere myth or permanently lost or destroyed. But in 2021, this doom-laden metal psych masterpiece finally emerges from the Stygian depths of prog legend. Hellmet's sole lp is the ultimate incarnation of Leviathan and the Mike Stuart Span, and on this record, they hit a peak — almost like a raw undergound Led Zep 1 with elements of Cream. Hellmet's sound is characterised by a howling lead guitar tonally similar to High Tide but played in a heavy blues psych style; at times Steve Day appears to be wrestling a demonically possessed lead into submission. Three tracks are classic heavy prog proto-metal, then ‘Trust' gets into 'Dazed and Confused’ territory with its violent tale of resisting torture under the Inquisition; the dark epic 'Judgement Day' closes side one, a tale of heroin addiction and facing one's maker in an inevitable slide towards alienation and death. The LP benefits from repeat playing: it is heavy, but also deep, and has a vibe that combines anger with melancholia. A significant and historic find, if you ache for more true vintage Heavy Prog.

HEYOKA- Secret Rarities 1978-86-Label:SHROOMANGEL a new limited edition TEXAS ROCK DYAMONDS series of small press-run CD releases The music you are now listening to represents the best of the remaining previously unreleased Heyoka recordings both live and studio. The original 1979 studio sessions were first presented as rough mixes to various people very close to the band at the time, and one of those people fortunate enough to have received one of the demo cassettes was living in Louisiana and was able to preserve that tape over the years. That cassette is the source for the 1979 studio sessions (released on Spirit of Revelation in their final form) herein, and provides a different perspective on the core songs of Heyoka as far as how they were mixed, the lead guitar takes, etc. The track “Moods” is quite the rarity, only recently re-recorded by the band, this song could be considered the last great prog-rock epic written and performed live but never properly recorded in the studio. This live recording of the track is the only surviving example of it from the active period of the band. The other tracks are gathered from various sources and give you more of a clear picture as to what the band was about both in the studio and live– playing their top caliber originals mixed with select covers, usually cuts by artists such as Pink Floyd, Rush, or Jethro Tull among others. Presented in a digipak with foldout mini poster-insert, limited to only 300 copies, all songs and alternate studio versions, are for the first time released on CD. First one in the Texas Rock Dyamonds Series. File Under: Pomp Rock, Melodic Hard Rock, Progressive Hard Rock. For fans of: Prism, Trillion, 70s Kansas, 70s Styx. HIGHS IN THE MID 60’s - Vol. 18 Colorado 60s rarities) ARCHIVE COPIES! Label:AIP Direct from the BOMP WAREHOUSE, complete with authentic BOMP dust from the 1980’s! These are the last few copies , about to be out of print forever and ever! Unlike the Pebbles series – which has been released over an extended period of time by several record labels and in a variety of formats – the 23 albums in the Highs in the Mid-Sixties series were released only as LPs and in a short time span of 1983 to 1986 (in fact, the 23rd album is the only 1986 release). This is one of the fastest series of releases among garage rock compilation albums. By way of example, the 28 LPs in the Pebbles series were released between 1978 and 1988, and the 20 LPs in the Rubble series were released between 1984 and 2002. Even the first 23 albums in the original Now That's What I Call Music series (i.e., the United Kingdom albums) – the most massive group of compilation albums ever created – were released between 1983 and 1992.
These tracks include several covers, The Moonrakers were originally known as the Surfin' Classics and, like many 1960s garage rock bands, have a website and had a 2006 reunion concert. The title of the psychedelic instrumental "Music to Smoke Bananas By" refers to the urban legend prevalent in the late 1960s that banana peel scrapings have an LSD-like effect if dried and then smoked like marijuana

PUNKS IN PEORIA -MAKING A SCENE IN THE AMERICAN HEARTLAND- SAALE! Label:ALONA'S DREAM 14 song document of the DIY punk/alternative scene in Peoria, Illinois, from its hardcore roots in the early 1980s through the late '90s. The album highlights out-of-print punk rock anthems, unreleased demos and rare studio tracks alongside extensive liner notes, photos and a scene poster. This compilation is the companion soundtrack to the book 'Punks In Peoria: Making A Scene In The American Heartland' by Jonathan Wright and Dawson Barrett, published by University of Illinois Press. 'Punks In Peoria' documents the evolution of the DIY punk scene in Peoria, Illinois from its primal beginnings in the early 1980s to the dawn of the digital era. A lovingly curated collection of long-lost gems and hometown favorites from "Anytown U.S.A.," it connects the varied work of disaffected youth across nearly two decades and multiple "generations" of Peoria punks, performers and scenesters. From Midwest hardcore legends Constant Vomit and Caustic Defiance to the inimitable shock rocker Bloody Mess, the Peoria punk scene was built on the DIY spirit from the very beginning. As it grew beyond the rudiments of hardcore, the Peoria scene mirrored the larger slicing and dicing of post-punk into ever-narrower sub-genres-embracing goth, synth, pop, psychedelia, metal, and more. Amidst the post-Nirvana haze of the early '90s, the gritty melodies of Dollface paved the way for a new generation of Peoria youth, some of whom would go on to tour the world in bands like Minsk and Planes Mistaken for Stars. This record is a document of that musical journey. Limited edition 160-gram color vinyl LP in 20pt board jacket with full-color printed inner sleeve featuring band photos and detailed liner notes and an 18"x24" poster featuring an extensive collection of flyers from the 1980s to the 2000s. PANDORAS, THE - It's About Time PURPLE! (Psychedelic fuzz goddesses)Label:VOXX Psychedelic fuzz goddesses The Pandoras were the first, and in many ways the most original, of L.A.'s garage revival bands. They transformed the traditional garage sound of their "Pebbles" favorites into a vehicle for an all-girl band in wild day-glo fashions, openly sexual, assertive and outrageous in a time when girl bands were expected to be more like the demure Bangles. This is their landmark Voxx debut album. LP $20 SKU:16313

PENTHOUSE 5-IT'S ALL MY OWN BIZARRE DREAM + 7"( rare mid sixties TEXAS garage psych) -Label:BREAK-A-WAY Hailing from the Dallas suburb Oak Cliff, The Penthouse 5 had its heyday in 1966-'67, when the band recorded a number of self-penned tunes and released two 45s. Several recordings from 1967 and other, more psychedelic influenced tracks remained unreleased, but demonstrate the musical versatility of the band. In 1966 the group underwent a substantial line-up change when three of the original band members, among them vocalist Rob Graham, left the group. He was replaced by Jon Williams, who had previously been with the By Fives and WordD. Alongside the Penthouse 5 recordings, the rare 7-inches of these closely linked bands are all collected for this release. Additionally an until now completely unknown 5-track '65 acetate rounds up this collection of rare and lost recordings by one of the greatest local '60s bands from the Lone Star State. PHIL & THE FRANTICS - ST (great 60s garage ZOMBIES STYLE ) LAST COPIES SAALE! Label:VOXX A top draw in their native Phoenix, Phil and the Frantics were basically unknown elsewhere until a 1966 side called "I Must Run" appeared on Pebbles Volume 2 a decade and a half later. Without question, the song is one of the greatest garage ballads ever made. (Discoveries) LP $15 SKU:22113

PLASTIC CLOUD -ST (70s psych with lyric insert)Label:LION Plastic Cloud recorded, quite simply, one of the greatest psychedelic albums ever made. This is a record with few equals, full of foreboding melodies and lovely hippie harmonies, as well as some of the most superb and trippiest, Eastern sounding fuzz guitar ever recorded. There is no point singling out a specific track, they are all excellent -- one is equally as good as the next. Take for example the album centerpiece, the ten-and-a-half-minute 'You Don't Care,' an insane piece of social commentary that features terrific back-of-the-mix fuzz guitar as an elusive focal point to its extended pounding-drum laden instrumental breaks; with a great chorus and a plaintive melody in the verse, it doesn't overstay its welcome, winding its way to a final freak out. Essential psychedelia!" 180 gram vinyl; Comes with lyric insert and replica vintage press release. LP $24 SKU:24344

PLASTIC CRIMEWAVE SYNDICATE -Massacre of the Celestials (deep psych) SAALE! Label:GALACTIVE ARCHIVE (USA) ‘Massacre Of The Celestials’ is presented in a 350 gram Gloss Laminated Sleeve and comes with a download code. 300 Pressing Worldwide. Steven Krakow (aka Plastic Crimewave) is a dark sonic visionary whose every output is infused of the deepest psychedelic music (or just plain old music) out there. With Plastic Crimewave Syndicate you are treated to a howling, menacing, throbbing freak-out sthat is never for the faint hearted. Aided by skronkin' sax goddess Taralie Peterson (aka Louise Bock/Tar Pet) of avant musical coven Spires that in the Sunset Rise, Plastic Crimewave Syndicate go into uncharted realms on their 4th new epic album, "Massacre of the Celestials." Recorded over the course of a tu- multuous year on this small planet, a concept emerged of a story we all know and love-- the rise and fall of humanity, and then the post-apocalyptic rebirth of a new furtherly- dystopian mutated world. PCWSyndicate didn't discriminate with the freaky sonic tools needed to craft this molten behemoth of a LP, utilizing: damaged waves of No Waves, free-festival rave-ups that punters will knock down fences to pogo to, monochord Doom ruminations...and could that be groovy post-post-punkin' Funakdelica? These cosmic cats also go to the roots of all: The Blooz--elemental, drugged, n grungey--and like JAZZ, MAN! (free, not expensive, for thee people). Plastic Crimewave (bellows/guiterror), Kosmik Jru (bass rumble), and Jose "The Beast" Bernal (kit smash), keep the freaks a-rollin and a- tumblin on an LP destined to score the end of this feeble Earthen sphere. LP $18 SKU:24302

POPPEES -Pop Goes The Anthology (Great 70s power pop! ) CLASSIC BLACK VINYL -Label:BOMP The Poppees were one of the creators and the embodiment of what soon came to be known as the "Power Pop" sound of the late 70s. This long overdue anthology finally gives this notable and highly underrated band its due, elegantly chronicling the Poppees short but influential role in the history of the New York New Wave scene of the late 70's. While anchored around their two classic Bomp singles, "If She Cries/Love of The Loved" (the latter track produced by Craig Leon of the Ramones fame), and "Jealousy/She's Got It" (produced by Cyril Jordan of the Flamin' Groovies), "Pop Goes The Anthology" features never before released recordings, including demos, early live recordings, and culminating with a rip-roaring live performance at CBGB. It is complete with liner notes and unpublished photos. "After all, what would be more punk at that time than being in the Poppees - a band that emulated the early Beatles, from their moptops to their Cuban heels?" - WFMUFormed in In the mid-'70s in New York by Bob Waxman, Arthur Alexander, Paddy Lorenzo, and Donny Jackrel, later replaced by Jet Harris. Only a few of these! Test pressings are the white label copies issued to the record label in advance of the actual pressing
"Unique jazz-rock album with major space-rock vibes. You have to love the way the bass counters the effects-laden guitar solos and heavy fuzz. Considering how many loner folk and hard rock private press albums came from the same time period, discovering something this ambitious and unusual is a real kick. Most of the time, it sounds like the world's best exploito-jazz record, Herb Alpert filtered through Pink Floyd and Quiet Sun." —Acid Archives LP $25 SKU:22441

PROJECT GRIMM-CRASS MENAGERIE (vintage Texas psych style)Label:VINCEBUS ERUPTUM Project Grimm features MIKE GUNN's vocalist/guitarist John Cramer. The band is clearly influenced by vintage heavy metal, the legacy of Texas psychedelia and the dusty feel of desert rock. Intensely personal, melodic, dynamic, subtle and bloody minded, these are extaordinary slabs of spine tingling rock. 'Crass Menagerie' is Project Grimm's first album in 15 years! Edition on BLACK VINYL. LP $22 SKU:24434

Q65-INJECTION (70s Dutch beat)Label:PSEUDONYM Packaged in a lavish gatefold sleeve supplemented by rare photos and memorabilia. Comes on 180 gram black vinyl Q65 was one of The Netherlands' most popular beat bands from the '60s. After their glory years, that ended abruptly in January 1968 when singer Willem Bieler joined the army, the band reformed in the spring of 1970, with drummer Beer Klaasse of the legendary Group 1850 behind the drumkit. The album 'Injection' contains (unreleased) live recordings and demos (8 tracks, 1970), the legendary Beatnach concert (4 tracks, 1980) and two acoustic songs from 1996. RATIONALS--10” Temptation Bout to get Me (Detroit 60s MC5 STOOGES style ) Label:TOTAL ENERGY LAST COPIES When serious collectors compose lists of the top shoulda-been-bigger bands of the '60s, the Rationals are often among them. Coming out of the same Ann Arbor, MI scene that gave birth to the MC5 and the Stooges, the group's forte was a sort of garageish take on blue-eyed soul, built around the fine RB-hued vocals of frontman Scott Morgan. Their mid-'60s singles, however, didn't break in many areas outside of Michigan (where they had some big local hits), and by the time they got to record an album, they had long passed their peak.the Rationals actually predated the MC5/Stooges by quite some time, both chronologically and stylistically. When they began recording for the local A2 label in 1965, they were, like many garage bands, heavily influenced by the British Invasion, although they gave their material a more soulful flavor than most similar units. "Gave My Love" was a chart-topper in Ann Arbor (and a hit in Detroit), as was a follow-up single of "Respect" (which predated Aretha Franklin's version). Picked up for national distribution by Cameo/Parkway, it nudged into the lowest regions of the national charts as well.” LP $15 SKU:22014

RAUNCH - Total Raunch (savage '60s heavy fuzz )-Label:BREAK A WAY Mid-'60s garage-punk from Ossining, NY. In the short time of the band's existence, The Raunch released one scorching 7-inch, contributed a cool Paul Revere cover to the collectable local 'Battle Of The Bands' compilation and recorded notable covers of 'Hey Joe' and John D. Loudermilk's 'Tobacco Road'. This one-sided LP collects all those five tracks and adds a 4-page info sheet, including rare pix. The two songs from the single, originally issued by Bazaar Records, are the crude garage track 'A Little While Back' b/w the more moody 'I Say You're Wrong'. Though we only get five tracks, there's enough energy, sharpness and garage-punk excitmenet to fill a complete album. LP $15 SKU:16485

REAL EYES-ST + A4 size, leatherette, soft cover 90-page book with drawings and lyricsLabel:WIZARD Rare local US private pressing from 1981. Described thus by one writer: "Dreamy all over, with progressive folk elements; flat out psychedelic rock in some tracks. Interesting and thoughtful songwriting. A great discovery!!!”; described elsewhere as "sounds running the gamut from soft folk, to psych heavy metal,” and also as "tasty and creative stuff throughout,” by a third scribe…. and this way in Acid Archives:"One of the best 1980s discoveries, this is pretty wild stuff, has a crude garage edge, especially when it gets heavy. The songwriting is pretty interesting and thoughtful, and as private press LPs go, this is distinctive and memorable enough to explain why psych dealers jumped on its bandwagon. A lot of the lyrics are pretty stoned. There is a lot going on here, with enough weird hooks and surprising moments to give any listener a fair amount of kicks. I like side two, especially the closing 'Visions of Obscurity V,' better than side one. In the long run, whether this will be a keeper for any individual listener will probably be determined by the insane 12-minute 'Madman’s Game,' an elaborate epic that encapsulates everything distinctive about this record.” —Acid Archives LP $40 SKU:24383
