BELLTOWERS- TOmorrow Will Remain (psych/power pop/ Byrds-style) Label:HYPNOTIC BRIDGE With its Byrdsian jangle and Beatlesque “Day Tripper” vibe, Influenced by folk-rock, psychedelia and power pop, the band shares a common love of The Byrds, The Who, The Beatles, The Kinks, Gene Clark, Love, Big Star, Teenage Fanclub, and The Rain Parade. They employ vintage instruments (Rickenbacker, Gretsch, Epiphone, Fender, and Guild) to play their jangly, harmony-laden songs. 45 RPM $10 SKU:23181

BLACK WATCH -Crying All The Time (glorious acid pop psych, Label:HYPNOTIC BRIDGE b/w “One Hundred Million Times Around The Sun” and “Much Of A Muchness”
“Crying All The Time!” transports TBW into the realm of glorious pop psych, launching listeners into its stream of soaring, sonic splendor (and mellotronic majesty, courtesy of ex-BJM keyboardist Rob Campanella). Undoubtedly the first and only song to offer up such sumptuous words as delirious, imperious, mysterious, insidious and perfidious in a single set of lyrics.Originally from Santa Barbara, California and based in Los Angeles, The Black Watch evoke the same fervor from those in the know as do bands such as The Chameleons, The Church and The Stone Roses. 45 RPM $10 SKU:21638

ELECTRIC LOOKING GLASS - Death of a Season ( Bee Gees, Left Banke and Kinks circa '68 influenced) Label:HYPNOTIC BRIDGE Electric Looking Glass are a baroque pop group from Los Angeles whose shared love of early Bee Gees, Left Banke and Kinks circa '68 informs their phenomenal songs. Fresh on the scene, the four far-out dandies create flash melodies in full harmony with jangly guitars, whirling Hammond and a belting backbeat. Sounds of yesterday, visions of tomorrow, yet fully focused on the perfect here and now.
Death Of A Season With a slow, groovy build riding deep, powerful currents of Hammond organ and buoyed by ethereal vocals, “Death Of A Season” envelops you in its sensuous sea of psychedelia before taking you to the top of a tidal wave of intense, climactic glorySomeday Soon”45 RPM $10 SKU:21637

FLOWER MACHINE- Through a London Window-Label:HYPNOTIC BRIDGE Currently based in San Luis Obispo, California, The Flower Machine recorded the basic tracks for their Hypnotic Bridge single in a cavernous warehouse, on a vintage 8-track machine. The tapes were then taken to a studio in Cambria, where they added sitar, flute, organ, backwards guitars and subtle layers of Mellotron cello to complete the A-side, “Through A London Window,” which was inspired in part by Antonioni’s 1966 cinematic masterpiece “Blow Up.”
“One in a Million,” perhaps the most obscure item in the Pink Floyd canon, makes its vinyl debut on the B-side. Surviving only on a murky audience tape from a gig in Copenhagen in September 1967, the song is thought to be a joint composition between Roger Waters and Syd Barrett. It even may have been a version of the rumored “She Was a Millionaire” single The Pink Floyd were working on to follow up “See Emily Play.” Peter spent ages decoding its lyrics, enabling us to present here, for the first time ever, a fully realized version of a song that many consider to be one of the last holy relics of the Barrett era. Peter employs a black-and-white Danelectro 59 for the guitar parts, while Matt Nice plays the menacing, Rick Wright-influenced organ. 45 RPM $10 SKU:22797

HIGHER STATE - In The Morning (psych-folk spirit of ’66 )Label:HYPNOTIC BRIDGE “In The Morning I Will Roam” b/w “Winter Is Blue” The psych-folk spirit of ’66 comes jangling through the mists of time with the profound sounds and imagery of “In The Morning I Will Roam”, transporting those who listen intently into the pensive, rustic realm of classic British troubadours, from Donovan Leitch to Vashti Bunyan.“Winter Is Blue” is, in fact, one of Vashti’s own early classics, transformed into a perfect complement to the A-side by The Higher State’s visionary take on her obscure contribution to 1968’s “Tonite Let’s All Make Love In London” soundtrack. 45 RPM $10 SKU:21478

MAD WALLS- It Turns (Floydian sounds drifting within a stream of dreamy psych).
Label:HYPNOTIC BRIDGE MAD WALLS- It Turns “It Turns” b/w “Eternal Light” Curated to complement each other, the songs on this single are among the trippiest yet from The Mad Walls. “It Turns” arrives like an echo from the past broadcast from the future, with early Floydian sounds and sentiments drifting within a stream of dreamy psych.“Eternal Light” gallops with muted hooves through a fever dream of dense butterscotch brilliance, an Edwardian ghost swirling alongside holding a spliff the size of a torch, illuminating facets of strange, undulating gems along the path. 45 RPM $10 SKU:21479

REVERBERATIONS -Milder High (Beatles style pop psych) Label:HYPNOTIC BRIDGE Inspired by a fictional psychedelic experience (with all the exciting highs and mellow lows), “Milder Higher” marks a new, more complex direction in The Reverberations’ sound. With interesting time changes, Leslie vocals and a reversed lead fuzz guitar, the song brings to mind bands such as The Beatles and The Peanut Butter Conspiracy.Like the A-side, “Sunshine” was recorded in early 2019 by the legendary Matt Rendon at Midtown Island Studios in Tucson and recorded to 8-track tape for a classic approach and feeling, with backing vocals done as three-part harmonies around a single microphone. The recent addition of keyboards to The Reverberations’ lineup brings an essential psychedelic element to the song, and the band. 45 RPM $10 SKU:21780

TRIPTIDES-Nirvana Now (sun-drenched psych)-\Label:HYPNOTIC BRIDGE “Nirvana Now” b/w “She Is Dressed In Red” An ecstatic reflection on a dream shared by “all who were there”, the paean to enlightenment encapsulated by “Nirvana Now” takes Triptides’ sun-drenched psychedelia to new glorious new heights. Awash in aural delights emanating from a Wurlitzer electric piano along with Epiphone Casino and fuzz guitars, the song has all a seeker of psyched-out bliss could ask for. Shimmering with dronalicious sitar, Farfisa organ, 12-string guitar and Beatle bass, “She Is Dressed In Red” is the perfect marigold comedown after spinning the A-side at maximum volume. 45 RPM $10 SKU:21476

TURNS - Doorman (timeless essence of West Coast psych)Label:HYPNOTIC BRIDGE “Doorman” b/w “Just Like You” Doorman” is the opening salvo in a new direction in The Turns’ sound, with soulful vocals and a slow, powerful build that soars with the psychedelic splendor of bands like The Buffalo Springfield, The Jefferson Airplane and Love. The timeless essence of West Coast psychedelia is encapsulated in the lovely groove of “Just Like You,” which blossoms in the mind like memories of sunny summer afternoons spent lazing on paisley picnic blankets. 45 RPM $10 SKU:21477

THEE MICHELLE GUN ELEPHANT- 106 (Japanese cult rock and rollers IYL Who, Iggy,Ramones)-Label:TRIAD (unsealed, a few scuffs on corners) The band’s last studio album. “I don't know where the Japanese equivalent of the Motor City is, but Thee Michelle Gun Elephant must be from near there. The quartet's third U.S. album, Rodeo Tandem Beat Specter is a triumph of high-octane, melodic proto-punk in the tradition of the Stooges and the MC5. It's easy to tell on songs like "The Loneliness Of The Citroen" and "My Heart With Its Brakes Broken Loose" that subjects of love and cars are dominant images. The rhythm section of bassist Koji Ueno and drummer Kazuyuki Kuhara provides the horsepower. The flash comes from the soaring bluesy-punk rock lines of guitarist Futoshi Abe. Topped off with singer Yusuke Chiba's gruff, emotional bleats, this is some good ol' foot-stomping, head-shaking stuff.” - Brian J. Bowe / Creem Magazine CD $5 SKU:23810

THEE MICHELLE GUN ELEPHANT-RUMBLE (Japanese cult rock and rollers IYL Who, Iggy,Ramones )-Label:TRIAD 1999 release GATEFOLD UNSEALED Includes photo booklet with English Titles and Japanese lyric sheet with discography. For anyone who wants something a la Guitar Wolf, this band will not disappoint. Though the Land Of The Rising Sun's other garage punk bands (e.g. Teengenerate and Guitar Wolf) almost exclusively cut their teeth on the three-chords-and-a-sneer style of artists like Eddie Cochran and the Ramones, Michelle Gun Elephant also fervently worships the cosmic live intensity of The Who and the white soul of the MC5, as well as the destructo rock of lesser-known U.S. bands like the Sonics and the Scientists CD $10 SKU:23807
