BANANA SPLITS / HERE COME THE BEAGLES- 2 LPS on one cd plus bonus tracks ( mid 60s pop rockers !) . Label:HOLLYWOOD LIBRARY This 1,000-copy limited-edition CD reissue does collectors -- a favor by putting a wealth of material by the group on one disc, with plenty of rare tracks... ten tracks from the rare 1967 LP by fellow kiddie TV group the Beagles, who are actually not bad mid-'60s pop/rockers with a Beatles-Merseybeat influence to the songs and harmonies CD $10 SKU:15159

CRYSTAL SYPHON- FAMILY EVIL/ ELEPHANT BALL (SF 60s)Label:GEAR FAB Comes in an old-style “tip-on” jacket with a digital download. Plying their trade in the fertile San Francisco scene of the late '60s, Crystal Syphon's name was only known to aficionados through viewing copies of old SF gig posters and through the index of bands at the back of Ralph Gleason's book on the rise of Jefferson Airplane. Then both their studio and live 1967-1969 archival recordings were discovered that replaced the imagination with true grooves in 2012 and 2015 with the release of 2 LPs on Roaratorio Records. Trying to find comparison with other Bay area bands from that era has proven a bit fruitless as they don't specifically evoke any of the heavy hitters of the era. They have a bit of a dreamy, stoned vibe with some great harmonies and some have compared their style to Quicksilver Messenger Service (John Cipollina was their idol!!) as well as H.P. Lovecraft. As with so many bands of the era, the draft, time and declining fortunes signaled the end of the band. There is some great guitar work alongside the Farfisa organ in the extended jams, and fans of the west-coast sound should delight in these recordings. CD $14 SKU:23863

EARTHEN VESSEL-Everlasting Life ( A must for the psych freak!)Label: GEAR FAB 70s PSYCH -The ultra- rare 1970 LP- Heavy Rock: Everlasting Life. Off the master tapes, this Jefferson Airplane/Cream inspired music is one of a kind. Spacey AND VERY haunting vocals, distorted guitar, Farfisa Organ; it will take you to new limits of Psychedelia. From on line review -- When I hear the term "xian psych" I usually head the other direction, however this outfit sucked me with the mind blowing psych anthem "Life Everlasting" on a Gear Fab comp and I had no choice but to buy the album. Disappointed? Not in the least, more like surprised! Great fuzz psych with good tunes and some guitar work that would make Blue Cheer blush. Also the male and female vocals are both top notch, and "Life Everlasting" still makes the hair on the back of my neck raise up.A must for the psych freak! CD $10 SKU:23272

FLAMES - “Ummm! Ummm! Oh Yeah” + “That’s Enough” (DBL CD - Label:FRESH Throughout the '60s The Flames—featuring future Beach Boy Ricky Fataar along with his brothers Steve Fataar, Brother Fataar and Edries Fredericks— were South Africa's biggest selling band. This double disc set highlights the band's many hits from 1964 to 1966 and includes the "Ummm! Ummm! Oh Yeah" and "That's Enough" albums on Disc 1, and 16 non-album A & B sides singles on Disc 2. This release is a companion to the Retro best selling "Soulfire"/"Burning Soul" reissue. The “Ummm” album (1965) has some nice covers includes two Beatles tracks (‘No Reply’ and ‘Eight Days a Week’), a nice version of ‘You Better Move On,’ and ‘Talkin' Bout You,’ and several others. You have to admire a band like The Flames. An exceptionally talented outfit, the fact they were a non-white group (most of the members were of East Indian extraction), trying to make the big time in apartheid-era South Africa makes them even more special. Records by The Flames are highly collectable, not least because two of their members, Ricky Fataar and Blondie Chaplin, joined The Beach Boys from 1971 to 1973, during which time the albums ‘So Tough’, ‘Holland’ and ‘In Concert’ were made and released CD $16 SKU:19983

HELL PREACHERS INC /UGLY CUSTARD - Supreme Psychedelic Underground/ Psicosis (UK 60s psych, two great LPS on one CD! ) in mini lp sleeve -Label:GEAR FAB "From the UK, two great psych LPs on one CD, in mini-LP cardboard sleeve format. The Hell Preachers, Inc. were rumored to have had Deep Purple members Ritchie Blackmore, Jon Lord, and Ian Paice on some of these tracks but all three have persistently denied this. Ugly Custard featured the great guitar playing of Alan Parker, who was involved earlier with Hungry Wolf. From 1968 and 1971 respectively, this is fuzzed out guitar and screaming organ! CD $10 SKU:14911

HIGHWAY 13 -BEEN UP TO THE DEVIL’S BUSINESS (wild rockabilly/blues R&R style) Label:GET HIP riginally released in 1997, Been Up to the Devil’s Business preserves Highway 13’s raucous signature sound and wild rockabilly sensibility, combining elements of blues, country, and classic rock ‘n roll. CD $10 SKU:22329

KAISERS - Squarehead Stomp (60s garage BEATLES/ZOMBIES style)Label:GET HIP Reissue of the debut album by Scotland’s #1 Beat band...The Kaisers! Classic album featuring equal doses of outstanding mid-’60s Mersey-style covers and brilliant originals all as authentic sounding as you can get! From the vocal harmonies, to the production, to the energy — everything is perfect. It’ll make you want to listen to the Beatles and the Zombies all over again. CD $10 SKU:21407

KATH - 1 Obscure garage psych ACID ARCHIVES FAVE! - DBL CD Label:LION (original album) + Unreleased Material -...As Patrick the Lama said in Acid Archives, “Obscure and impressive melodic basement garage/psych excursion with a lo-fi atmosphere that would have most purveyors flip out, hits the Ampex two-track echo & tinny drum sound dead on.... At times the vibe is almost like Mystery Meat or Index, and that's not something you run across every day. A totally outside garage/psych/private LP that feels as personally projected as those Michael Yonkers sides. CD $12 SKU:14509

LOS CHECKMATES- With The (1967 S American Beatles, Stones,Monkees covers) Label:GEAR FAB Gear Fab's first venture into the vastly untapped bands of South America. Recorded in Mexico City in 1967, the band were actually comprised of musicians from the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Holland. These cover tunes are done better than even some of the originals, and they are all sung in English!!! With a distinctive "Garage Edge", this unknown and rare LP is not even listed in any record collector encyclopedias!! Features music of The Beatles, The Stones, Herman's Hermits, The Monkees, and more!! CD $10 SKU:20327

LOST SOULS--ST mid 60s unknown U.S. Brit Invasion/ psych) SAALE!Label:LION The Lost Souls never released any records, yet the meager recorded evidence that survives indicates that they were one of the finest unknown American groups of the mid-'60s, able to write both catchy British Invasion-type rockers and, in their latter days, experimental psychedelic pieces with unusual tempo changes and song structures. The band were also unusual in their occasional embellishment of the typical period guitar-bass-drums lineup with flute, sax, and mandolin. Although popular in their Cleveland hometown, they broke up in 1968 to attend college. Rhythm guitarist Denny Carleton, who wrote and sang some of their best material, went on to briefly join The Choir, their chief (and more successful) rivals." —Richie Unterberger The music scene in Cleveland in the mid to late 1960’s was ripe with talent: the James Gang with Joe Walsh and Glenn Schwartz, The Choir, Eric Carmen (pre-Raspberries), Glass Harp with Phil Keaggy, the Damnation of Adam Blessing… and the Lost Souls. Of all those bands, only the Lost Souls never released a record. Then again, they were in high school, trying to navigate dress codes and bullies—and playing in front of a couple thousand fans when not suspended. Sure, they lost a battle of the bands at Teen Fair 1968, but it was to the James Gang with Joe Walsh. And somehow it is the Lost Souls who emerge from that time and place with the greatest mystique and some of the most adventurous music, music which few have heard. Lost Souls main songwriter Denny Carleton released a cassette of the band’s original recordings in 1984. It received airplay on hundreds of college and public radio stations in the USA (and around the world), and garnered glowing reviews… and that was it, until now.Not only is this the first time the music of the Lost Souls has been available since that cassette, our Lion Productions edition is the first release for many additional Lost Souls cuts, including alternate versions of key tracks like the insightful ‘Things That Are Important’ and ‘I’m Falling’ (the closest to a hit the band ever had), all taken from the original tapes and carefully mastered. Seven bonus tracks highlight the work of Lost Soul's main songwriter Denny Carleton (one-time member of The Choir, and more surprisingly, punk legends the Pagans); selections by The Choir, Moses, Milk and Carleton, many in all possible low-fi glory, recorded on various 4-Track devices, ranging from power-pop to grimy garage.•Whopping 32-page booklet has the full story of the band and info on the recordings by Carlton
•Includes a multitude of unseen photos from his personal archive
•Carefully remastered from the original tapes (+ the occasional post-Lost Souls 45 single)
•”One of the great lost groups of the 60's.” —Option Magazine CD $12 SKU:20365

MONDO TOPLESS - GO FAST ( fuzz-drenched, organ-fueled garage mayhem w 60s garage covers ) Label:GET HIP Influences are the Sonics, Fuzztones, Kinks, Lyres, Cynics, Chesterfield Kings and morePhiladelphia's Farfisa-drenched garage masters Mondo Topless have been serving audiences a fiery concoction of shredding guitars, throbbing bass, and thumping drums for a while now. This driving, raunchy and in-your-face rocker serves the perfect musical background for a night of debauchery.. CD $10 SKU:21933

MYSTIC EYES-Whole World is Watching (primal ‘60s garage rock sound.)Label:GET HIP While each song on Watching is a polished gem, special mention must be given to a few. “Reality Is No Friend of Mine” is an ominous psychedelic pounder, and “So Far Away From Here” is only slightly less intense. While the whole album fits loosely into a modernized folk/rock genre, “I Can’t Wait to Love You” pays loving tribute to the Phil Spector/Jan & Dean sound. CD $10 SKU:22755

NEUTRAL SPIRITS -ST (1972 private press psych jewel)Label:GEAR FAB One of those privately pressed jewels from 1972, with a great weird garagy PSYCHEDELIC sound, we are all hunting after. Doors-inspired music with great fuzz sound and distorted guitars. Their songs range from songs of protest such as 'Speaking Freeley' and Flying' to the 7 minute fuzz-fest 'Flower'. Only 500 originals were pressed 400 of which were destroyed in a fire, so remaining originals are very hard to come by and go for the 4 digits in bucks, and still hardly ever pop up. Featuring nice photos and story of the band. CD $10 SKU:21724

PALACE GUARD- ST (so Cal 60s garage)-Label:GEAR FAB Featured on NUGGETS Yes, the great Southern California band that featured Don Grady of Yellow Balloon & "My Three Sons" fame, Emitt Rhodes of The Merry-Go-Round, and Terry Rae of Jamme. They were the featured band at The Hullaballoo club in LA in the 1960's. CD $10 SKU:23802

PAYBACKS - KNOCK LOUD (real-deal Detroit R&R ) Label:GET HIP Comprised of Detroit garage veterans (the Hentchmen, Rocket 455, and Ten High), the Paybacks first came to the attention of indie rock fans in 2001 with their inclusion on the compilation The Sympathetic Sounds of Detroit (Sympathy for the Record Industry, SFTRI623). Now they’re out to prove their mettle, and Knock Loud is the manifesto! Grab a 12-pack, crank up the volume, and tell the poseurs and the bullies to get lost! Rock'n'Roll is fun again!! CD $10 SKU:24758

PLASTICLAND- Mink Dress and Other Cats (post punk psych) SAALE - Label:TIMOTHY'S BRAIN Record Collector magazine in England rightly calls this "a superb compilation of one of the true pioneers of post-punk psychedlia:—and it's true; an amazing collection of ultra-rare early singles from a truly under-rated band CD $10 SKU:23582

PRETTY THINGS- PARACHUTE -digipak-Label:MADFISH If "S.F. Sorrow" is the Pretty Things' "Sgt. Pepper," "Magical Mystery Tour,” and "Yellow Submarine" wrapped in one, then “Parachute" is their more succinct "White Album" and "Abbey Road." It's not just a time line comparison. The Pretties made this fascinating LP in the same studio as the Fab Four, London's Abbey Road, with Beatles engineer Norman Smith producing. 'The Good Mr. Square' replicates the three-part harmony the Beatles were so proud of on ‘Because.' Two songs later, the group assembles a brief, interconnected three-song suite like the famous ones on side two of Abbey Road. Bassist Wally Allen's vocals on tracks such as 'Sickle Clowns' have the same throaty, mad anguish that John Lennon exhibited on 'Yer Blues' and 'Happiness Is a Warm Gun.' If "S.F. Sorrow" is psychedelic rock grandeur, then “Parachute" is its more bitter twist, the dream dying and the witching hour upon us. Yet, if this isn't as much of a triumph, the creative neurons are still firing throughout a multi-varied, cohesive LP. Like "S.F. Sorrow," it's a concept LP. This time the topic is a generation caught between the conflicting calls of (rural) peace, love, and boredom, and (urban) sophistication, sex, and squalor in a harsh world. Somehow the departure of the band's main creative force, Dick Taylor, didn't diminish the writing and inspired variety. Allen stepped up big time into the collaborator role with singer Phil May. The harmonies remain a strong point on an otherwise rock-inclined record, and the nasty edge of perfectly balanced bombast in the best songs have been a lost art ever since. (There are eighteen minutes of good stuff tacked on the Snapper edition, taken from singles.)" CD $14 SKU:23999

REMAINS (TOKYO)-TOO MUCH TO LOSE (IGGY/BOWIE/STONES style) Label:1&2 DEBUT RELEASE FROM TOKYO BAND IGGY POP/DAHL/BOWIE/STONES/THUNDERS INFLUENCED
CD $10 SKU:23609

RESONARS NONETHELESS BLUE (for fans of the Byrds, Love, the Easybeats, Moby Grape and the Hollies) Label:GET HIP On Nonetheless Blue, Arizona’s The Resonars continue to mine the field of top-shelf psychedelic pop. This, their fourth album, is probably their strongest, as the lead vocals of Matt Rendon are more self-assured than ever.

The songs are eminently catchy, and many of them could have been found on a series like Highs In the Mid ’60s without anybody finding out that they didn’t belong. Songs like “Nonetheless Blue” and “Sinking Is Slow” would have made perfect ’60s garage records, the kind that hit No. 1 in the band’s small-town charts but never got beyond that (a sad story of lots of classic records of that day).

Fans of The Grip Weeds will especially love “Your Concern,” “No Problem At All,” and “As a Matter of Fact,” as they feature that band’s signature thick harmonies and West Coast psychedelic vibe. In a likeminded but lighter vein is “If Darkness Comes Too Fast,” with an easy vibe not unlike that of the iconic pop/psych band, The Millennium CD $10 SKU:24736

RICH HOPKINS & LUMINARIOS - Buried Treasures-Label:SAN JACINTO "If Neil Young released Buried Treasures, it would be hailed as a return to form. And when Drive-By Truckers evidence similarly unselfconscious immediacy, we praise their ability to inhabit characters. But Rich Hopkins is for real, a regular guitar-toting guy who grew a conscience in the Peace Corps, cowriting his best songs to date with his hair-salon-owner girlfriend, Lisa Novak. The Tucson troubadour’s 28th studio set offers Crazy Horse-style workouts and plangent psychedelic feedback jams, but, as shown by the bleakly beautiful Friend of the Shooter, they are increasingly engaged with the southwest’s dark underbelly." —Stewart Lee

"It’s a wonder Rich Hopkins finds the time. When not playing with the Sidewinders or the Sand Rubies, he remains the prolific and creative backbone of The Luminarios. This time around he’s turned the guitars up again for a psychedelic mash of band jams and slow-burning grooves best typified by the brooding, elongated epic, Friend Of The Shooter, which sits well in Hopkins’ canon of storytelling songs. Outta My Head (Outta My Mind) is the flip side to Hopkins’ denser jams with its 60s pop rock feel, while Strutter glides along on a colourful swell of organ with Lisa Novak’s chiming vocals bringing the chorus to life. It seems churlish to not mention the extra disc (A Long Walk Home) too, a set of field songs from Hopkins’ time spent with the Peace Corps in rural Paraguay, both scratchy demos and studio recordings and all with a charm of their own." —Classic Rock CD $12 SKU:25060

SONS OF HERCULES-ST (MC5 Radio Birdman style) Label:UNCLEAN DEBUT! GREAT MC5/ RADIO BIRDMAN-TYPE RNR CD $10 SKU:23610

STEMS - Terminal Cool (83-86 gorgeous pop garage)- Label:GET HIP This brilliant retrospective captures a confident, self-assured band recorded during those hallmark years of ‘83 – ’86, and proves that Australia’s Stems were indeed an extremely varied animal. Brimming with gorgeous pop melodies alongside great garage rock riffs and backbeats, this collection effectively showcases their versatility. This reissue includes 21 golden greats that covers alot of ground from the Fuzztone hits “She’s A Monster” and “Tears Me In Two,” to the bluesy garage stomp of “On And On” ” to the pure pop goodness of “Can’t Forget That Girl”. And there’s no denying the riff rocking prowess of the Byrdsian “Love Will Grow” and the psychedelic snarl of “Jumping To Conclusions.” Top notch ressue here with interesting liner notes and this reissue also includes 5 unreleased bonus tracks. CD $15 SKU:21868

THUNDERS, Johnny--Diary of a Gypsy Lover 23 TRAX ALTERNATE STUDIO CUTS,LIVE,RADIO)?Label:SONIC Punk rock guitar hero, earning a cult following for his noisy but epic style a few years before the insouciant new music gained its name. Following in the footsteps of his idol and role model Keith Richards, Johnny Thunders (born John Anthony Genzale, Jr.) lived the ultimate rock & roll life, spending most of his days churning out tough, sloppy three-chord rock & roll and gaining nearly as strong a reputation for his decades-long struggle with addiction as for his music. Thunders made his greatest impact as a member of the New York Dolls, the proto-punk glam rockers of the early '70s. During the late '70s, he was a familiar figure on the New York punk scene, both with his band the Heartbreakers and as a solo artist. Thunders performed and recorded steadily until his death in 1991, turning out a series of records that inadvertently documented the struggles of his life and his art. CD $10 SKU:20428

THUS- All of Thus - (1968 garage rarity with liners by Mike Stax)Label:GEAR FAB Reissue of this late sixties garage rarity is a long lost gem. TOUCH- Street Suite (1968 blues psych) -Label:GEAR FAB AllMusic Review by Stanton Swihart :Coming directly from playing live with some of the finest hard rock bands of the era, Touch entered the studio to record their only album in 1968, released the following year in a limited pressing of 100 LPs. This Gear Fab reissue collects that entire album with the original lineup's two non-LP 45s, three songs recorded by the altered post-LP lineup, and a couple cuts by the Essence, the latter day band of Touch leader Ray Schulte. As such, it is the complete collection of the band's intense, sometimes left-leaning psychedelia grounded in blues.

CONGREGATION FOR ANTI FLIRTS -The McAllen, Texas Teen Scene 1965-1967 -Label:CICADELIC RECORDS \Subtitled: The McAllen, Texas Teen Scene 1965-1967. "From 1965 to 1967, McAllen was the happening scene for some of the wildest music to emanate from Texas in the '60s. The label that played host to these bands was Jimmy Nichol's Pharaoh Records and this album contains the best the label had to offer. Not only were the records superlative, but today they are considered some of the rarest finds for collectors of '60s garage bands. Singles by Pharaoh artists such as The Headstones, The Cavaliers, and Christopher and The Souls go for over a grand apiece, if they can be located. Congregation For Anti-Flirts Inc. also contains in depth coverage on the McAllen bands with rare photos, radio charts, and interviews, making this album a journey to pharaoh's valley that can't be missed. ELECTRIC HOLYLAND -ST- (Jesus fuzz psych 1960s)Label:LION Only 300x copies made! Music known as “Jesus rock” or "Jesus psych,” the synthesis of the Christian philosophy combined with heavy rock or psychedelic music, first saw light of day in the late 1960’s and was immediately pressed on vinyl. It didn’t dent popular consciousness and was met with almost zero popularity in its infancy. Over the years, astute collectors and music lovers began to realize that some of these records, almost all of which had been privately pressed in very small quantities with little to no promotion, contained some of the heaviest, catchiest, guitar-driven psych rock ever released. Many of us feel that these early greatly talented, creative and innovative Jesus rock artists, which, sadly, have been mostly overlooked and remain stlll relatively unknown, deserve to be heard. They broke the traditional mold of what Christian music should sound like and need to be known and recognized along with the well-known rock artists and bands of the era. This album presents twelve cuts of some of the best and sometimes heaviest obscure Jesus psych rock ever. Several tracks are from ultra-rare albums that are well-known to vinyl collectors, while others are from albums so obscure that only a few copies are known to exist. Enjoy your fuzz-drenched trip through “Electric Holyland”! COMP CD $10 SKU:24738

OUR BRILLIANT CAREERS -Cherry Red Rarities 1981-83-Label:CHERRY RED Cherry Red carved out an odd niche for itself apart from the general post-punk flow, thanks largely to eccentric A&R man Mike Always, whose tastes leaned towards melody, Englishness, and the 1960’s. Cherry red became a home for the dashing, debonair whimsy of he Monochrome Set, the mopy bedsit introspection of Eyeless in Gaza, jazzy-folky singer-songwriters Tracey Thorn and Ben Watt (separately and together as Everything But the Girl), and the Television/Velvets descended, plangent splendor of Felt. Although “Pillows and Prayers” is the best-known sampler of the label, its precursor “Perspectives and Distortions” (1981) includes many non-Cherry Red artists, which makes it very interesting; and “Our Brilliant Careers” (2003) scoops up archival arcane. It includes rare tracks by successful Cherry Red artists like Everything But The Girl (plus solo material from both Tracey Thorn and Ben Watt), The Nightingales and The Monochrome Set, plus many more. Most people probably know Five Or Six from their off-key but charming opener 'Portrait' from “Pillows and Prayers”; here we have six like low-key and absorbing tracks from them, most of which have never been on CD: 'Think' and 'Theme' are instrumentals that will surprise a few. There are also three early songs by Ben Watt described modestly by himself as 'dreary and tuneless'. Beautiful instrumental version of 'The Thousand Guitars of St. Dominiques' by the Fantastic Something ends up as the most surprising track—a high point of the collection.” Impressive and intriguing archive collection of rare recordings. BADGE- Collected Singles -1974 low-fi, DIY psych GOLD VINYL Label:LION First time reissue for any of the Badge material
•150x hand-numbered copies on Transparent Orange (Gold) vinyl
•Comes with an eight page insert w/liner notes by Kath and Badge leader Val Rogolino and a plethora of photos from his personal stash.

Not many albums can get you in the mood to blow out your speakers quite like Kath “1”, the hideously rare and expensive 1974 low-fi, DIY psych made by members of Maryland band Badge, recorded in the home of band leader Val Rogolino (and, yes, dedicated to his girlfriend and their pet monkey!). The Kath album is full of well-written melodic songs with loose, semi-ramshackle, low-fi/no-fi production values. The fact that Badge had been a going band for awhile, and that they released several singles and EPs — written by Val and recorded the same way, on the same equipment as the Kath album, seems to have been overlooked — until now. What Patrick the Lama said in Acid Archives about Kath, is equally applicable to Badge: “Obscure and impressive melodic basement garage/psych excursion with a lo-fi atmosphere that would have most purveyors flip out… at times the vibe is almost like Mystery Meat or Index, and that's not something you run across every day… Nuts lo-fi recording quality and impossible-to-figure production values gives this a nicely zonked almost real-people vibe. Keyboards, fuzz, heap of amateur avant spirit.” LP $32 SKU:25333

T2-1970 (180 gram obscure 70s psych prog ) - Label:GUERSSEN Blistering lead guitar, mellotrons, flutes, and lengthy heavy/melodic tracks, featuring the original T2 line-up of Dunton/Cross and Jinks. For fans of classic well crafted UK hard rock and progressive music we think this must rank as one of the most important archival releases in this genre. Even though fame and fortune never came to pass for T2, their Decca album “It’ll All Work out in Boomland” has become an all-time classic amongst collectors of progressive and psychedelic music—and even in the techno and dj scenes. Apart from a BBC radio session, fans long assumed that “Boomland” was both the beginning and the end of the group’s recorded legacy. But some time back, Acme Records unearthed an eponymous second album of material, recorded in 1970 with the original line-up as demo tracks for a planned second album. This second T2 album, had it been released in 1970, could have put the band on the same level of fame with the likes of Deep Purple, Free, and King Crimson (bands with whom T2 shared a stage). It’s hard-driving opener ‘Highway,’ ablaze with wailing guitars, gives way to moody introspection, culminating with the LSD induced finale ‘T2.’ Those of you who were lucky enough to snap up a copy of the earlier limited edition of the Acme Deluxe pressings of this album can testify to the importance of these recordings. For those of you who missed out the first time around—or who have only recently discovered the greatness of the mighty T2—all we can say is, enjoy the power and glory of the second T2 album! *Hard cardboard sleeve. *Includes insert with liner notes & photos LP $32 SKU:25435

A total heavy sonic assault! Since the release of “No Rest for the Wicked’s” in 1976, it's stature among collectors of 60’s and 70’s hard rock and psychedelia has grown steadily over the years, with original copies now fetching large sums. Originally formed as Truth in 1969 in Iowa, USA, Truth & Janey was named after a record by Jeff Beck. Between 1973-75 they played thousands of gigs, many with Leslie West, as well as playing with Blue Öyster Cult at a festival in Davenport, Iowa in front of 20,000 hard rock fans. All the while, Truth & Janey were writing original material, gearing up to record their first full length album. In 1976, they laid down the tracks that would see release on their stunning “No Rest for the Wicked” album later that same year. The record featured six original tunes and two traditional blues covers revved up in true powerhouse Truth and Janey fashion. Only 1,000 copies of the album were pressed on the local Montross records. Just as the ball started rolling, it all ended, as Denis Bunce left the group and quickly thereafter they completely disbanded. In a last ditch effort, guitarist Billy Janey reformed the group with all new members in 1977 and released the “Just a Little Bit of Magic” album, but it was a move in a completely different direction and has little to do with the ferocious hard rock Marshall 100-watt super lead guitar sound that dominates “No Rest for the Wicked.” "Not to be dismissed because of its underground status, Truth and Janey's only LP, No Rest for the Wicked, was another incredible find... Boasting a swaggering, bluesy grit, piercing twin-harmony licks, and the most righteously ferocious rhythm guitar tone this side of Ted Nugent, opener 'Down the Road I Go' instantly establishes the band's '70s hard rock aesthetic whose roots, not surprisingly, lie in English giants like Cream, Jeff Beck, and even more so in Rory Gallagher's Taste." —AllMusic.
