NEW SHINDIG AND IMPORTS!

This weekend we have the new SHINDIG and some more NEW limited imports. Plus a big batch of previously sold out imports. Dig in!

Don't forget that the mail is completely wonky, things aren’t scanning, and sometimes it’s taking one week to Europe, sometimes two months, so be prepared, these are COVID times and nothing is normal. But they are arriving, that’s the good news.

Thanks for all guys, hope you are all well and safe.
Suzy Shaw

THANKS for your support on the new BOBBY LEES ALBUM, it’s getting great reviews, and the BOMP /ALIVE masks are flying outta here too. Much appreciated. With the stores out of the pictures, ours bands are relying on mailorder for their sales, thanks for doing your part for rock and roll!

REVIEW FOR BOBBY LEES:

GUTTERMILK : Storming to the scene with a howling sense of rebellion and nonconformity, the band’s full-fledged garage-punk sound in this song is deftly executed with raw and raucous energy. – ALTERNATIVE PRESS

Getting some good press for DATURA4 too, if you don't already have it, GET IT!

West Coast Highway Cosmic has everything I love. If you were lucky enough to grow up in the 60s and 70s, you know that the music coming out at that time had a certain vibe. We’re not talking about the bubble-gum pop that was prevalent on the AM stations of the day. This is that blues based, uber-overdriven, gritty sound that blasted on many a stereo. Australian rockers Datura4 have captured not just the sound, but that whole atmospheric ambience on their latest release, West Coast Highway Cosmic. – AMERICAN BLUES SCENE

AIRBUS -TEST FLIGHT (70s Brit pop)Label:WOODEN HILL West Coast Consortium spinoff Airbus never played live or even released a record during their 1970-1972 lifespan, instead spending their entire subterranean existence holed up in their self-owned Whitechapel studio, writing and performing innumerable high quality demos and then attempting to place those songs with major label acts. But, more by accident than design, they came to leave behind THE Great Lost Early 70s British Pop Album - a jaw-dropping collision of superb songs, dazzling vocal harmonies, intelligent lyrics and hook-laden melodies that occupy the same studio pop territory as the first two 10cc albums and even Paul McCartneys Ram. Here, then, is the strange, previously untold story of a band that didnt leave so much as a footprint in the musical sands, but recorded a greater number of three-minute pop nuggets than almost all of their contemporaries CD $17 SKU:23154

BLACK RAINBOWS -COSMIC RITUAL SUPERTRIP (70s style psych-fuzz trio)-Label:HEAVY PSYCH SOUNDS 'Cosmic Ritual Supertrip' has a monolithic force; guitars, drums and bass are all glued together to give the listener a punch in the face! FOREVER AMBER - THE LOVE CYCLE (1968 UK pop-psych band)Label:WOODEN HILL One of the rarest albums (copies are currently valued around 1500) to escape from the British psychedelic era, THE LOVE CYCLE was recorded at a local demo studio in the summer of 1968 by Cambridge pop-psych band Forever Amber. Only previously available on bootleg, it now receives its first-ever legitimate reissue with the full participation of band members and the songwriting genius behind it, the mysterious John M. Hudson. With fully restored sound and a 16-page booklet that includes the original artwork, comprehensive liner notes, band quotes and previously unpublished photos, this is the definitive issue of one of the greatest, most elusive albums of the British psychedelic era, akin to a garage band version of the Zombies masterpiece Odessey And Oracle CD $25 SKU:23252

GENTLEMEN'S AGREEMENTS -UNDERSTANDING (60s freakbeat style) Label:SOUNDFLAT Another freakbeat-Hammond-mod-masterpiece from The Gentlemen's Agreements! If you dig a wild '60s freakbeat/mod sound with a groovy organ, this band is for you! CD $17 SKU:23157

GIMMIES -Roll Up (STOOGES/MC5 style garage)Label:OFF THE HIP THE GIMMIES are rock action personified with screaming guitars that tap into the Detroit tradition of the Stooges & MC5 and matched by a cockiness that would put The Pretty Things to shame. Combined with their love of Australian garage rock and their English-as-a-second-language-lyrics, they twist rock music into shrapnel only matched by their Japanese brethren Guitar Wolf, Teengenerate and the King Brothers CD $10 SKU:23253

INSTANT FLIGHT-AROUND THE GATES OF MORNING (UK pop/rock/psych)Label:ROCK'N'RAVE INSTANT FLIGHT is one of todays greatest pop/rock/psychedelic bands in the U.K. Its not surprising they've also been picked by Legendary Arthur Brown as his backing band from time to time, whom is featured on 2 tracks on Instant Flight's first album 'Colours And Lights', recorded by Gary Ramon (Sun Dial). The band is influenced by the Doors, Pink Floyd and Jefferson Airplane. However, there is absolutely no copycat re-hashing of old songs. This band strongly stands alone in a fabulous and wondrous sound of their own, that is timeless, catchy and powerful! 'Around The Gates Of Morning' is the latest release by Instant Flight. The song-writing is of the highest quality, with impressive and majestic lyrics and excellent music arrangement. First ever vinyl reissue with original UK artwork. Remastered sound and insert with photos / memorabilia plus liner notes by band member Steve Brayne. Formed in Brighton in 1968 with roots to the mod-soul scene, The Fox consisted of Steve (Stephen) Brayne on lead guitar & vocals, Winston Weatherill (ex-Gary Farr & The T-Bones) on lead guitar & sitar, Alex Lane on keyboards & vocals, Tim Reeves on drums and Dave Windross on bass. During their brief existence they supported The Herd and opened for David Bowie. Their sound was loud and righteous with great vocal harmonies, tight rhythm section and wonderful keyboard /guitar solos. After getting signed to a London management, they recorded their only LP in one session and they had it released in the UK on the Fontana label and on the USA on Crewe, featuring a different cover. Sadly, the band broke up following year and since the inclusion of “Butterfly” in one of the Rubbles comps several decades later, they've become a cult group among psych collectors LP $25 SKU:22891

BLACK SPACE RIDERS -AMORETUM, VOL. 1(heavy space psych) Label:BLACK SPACE Fifth album by the new wave of heavy psychedelic spacerock band Black Space Riders from Germany. This album is interspersed with a flowing groove throughout and an ever-present atmosphere that embraces the listener. CD $17 SKU:23034

BLACK SPACE RIDERS -BEYOND REFUGEEUM EP (heavy space psych) )-Label:BLACK SPACE he members of Black Space Riders deliberately kept behind four songs, all original recordings, from the 'Refugeeum' sessions in order to release them separately. But the Norvins aren't second to none of their examples in no way. 12 self composed powerful 60s garagepunk anthems, which all of them pumpingly but rhythmically go ahead. The choice of the two cover versions "Abba" by the Paragons and "Nothin" by the Ugly Ducklings completes the album and certifies, that the Norvins know, how 60s garage-fuzz-punk is about to be written and performed as well CD $16 SKU:21626

SEOMPI-Guns in the Skies(the Black Sabbath of Texas, psych rock) Label:CICADELIC RECORDS (USA) “While releasing only three singles in the early 1970's, Seompi's mystique has continued to grow through the ensuing decades. Three posthumous releases issued in the late 1990's only added to Seompi's aura—even though two were off speed and the third has been long out of print. This was the status quo for the past couple of decades until now with the release of "Guns In The Skies". Starting off with the hard rocker "AWOL" and then spacing out with the fourteen minute unreleased opus titled "Synergy Squares", Seompi takes you on a trip back to 1971 when Austin, Texas was the stomping ground for their brand of Psychedelic Space Rock. CD $10 SKU:20309

SHEPHERD, ALFIE-THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS (Magnificent, previously unreleased English psych pop concept 1969)Label:WOODEN HILL Re-mastered from the original mastertapes Features ten bonus cuts, also previously unreleased, that were recorded around the same time In 1969, Angel Pavement linchpin Alfie Shepherd took time out from the groups hectic schedule to demo a concept album that hed written around his favourite childhood story, Kenneth Grahames The Wind In The Willows. Sadly Angel Pavement broke up before theyd had a chance to record the work, which was duly left to gather dust. Forty years later, Alfies homemade recording of the proposed album finally gains a long-overdue release. Taken from the original mastertapes, and bolstered by a clutch of similarly unissued home demos from the same timeframe, The Wind In The Willows is now revealed as one of the great lost projects of the late 1960s, a thrilling psychedelic pop song-suite bursting with melodic invention, ambitious vocal arrangements and the boundless spirit of adventure that characterised the era. In other words: _ Magnificent, previously unreleased English psychedelic pop concept album from 1969, based on the classic childrens story The Wind In The Willows, which also inspired Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd _ Written and recorded by Alfie Shepherd, leader of highly regarded baroque pop act Angel Pavement _ CD $17 SKU:23044

SORROWS - OLD SONGS NEW SONGS (1966 British freakbeat/garage R&B giants rarity) DBL Label:WOODEN HILL British freakbeat/garage R&B giants the Sorrows relocated to Italy in 1966, recording the album Old Songs New Songs a couple of years later for a small independent label based in Milan. Now extremely rare as an original pressing. This new, band-approved reissue features the fully restored album in sparkling sound quality and adds an extra 100 minutes of music, nearly all of which is previously unreleased. Among the highlights are the magnificent heavy psychedelia of the bands aborted early 1968 Pye single Which Way/My Way Of Thinking, the theme song to the cult Italian spy caper Ypotron, a couple of movie collaborations with soundtrack maestro Ennio Morricone, and even an entire late 1968 demo album that, following the departure of two group members, was eventually scrapped and replaced by Old Songs New Songs! Completed by a previously unheard live gig from 1980 that proved the Sorrows savage garage band instincts were fully intact a decade later, this package features new, extremely detailed sleevenotes concerning their time in Italy, with fresh band quotes and some superb, previously unpublished photos. Forget what you may have read and heard elsewhere, this incredible 2CD package is the final word on the bands lengthy but previously little-documented Italian sojourn! CD $19 SKU:10207

TERRY & THE PIRATES- Comanche Boots (70s San Francisco Quicksilver Messenger Service )-Label:ACADIA Twenty nine years after the release of the original Too Close For Comfort comes the third issue of this priceless and timeless music from San Francisco's own Terry & The Pirates.” Another view: “Probably only remembered today as one of the many bands graced by the guitarwork of John Cipollina following his departure from Quicksilver Messenger Service, and as a footnote in the career of Nicky Hopkins, Terry and the Pirates deserve much greater recognition. Although Cipollina’s feral guitar is undoubtedly essential to their charms, the work of Terry Dolan himself should not be underestimated. His voice is an acquired taste, a strange mixture of David Crosby and Captain Beefheart, but as such, it’s impressively distinctive. Meanwhile, his songwriting mines that same rich vein of American folk which yielded ‘Pride Of Man’ (so memorably covered by Quicksilver). The best songs on this collection of various live and studio recordings are certainly Dolan’s own. Whilst a version of Jackie Wilson’s ‘Higher & Higher’ might be entertainingly audacious, covers of ‘Mystery Train’ and ‘Don’t Do It’ aren’t going to make anybody forget those by The Band, despite some impressive sparring between Cipollina and second guitarist Greg Douglass on the latter. In this context, tracks like ‘Inside and Out’ and ‘Inlaws and Outlaws’ distinguish themselves as fine examples of original Californian rock n’ roll. Even if none of this is especially ground-breaking or epoch-defining music, it’s played with spirit and any fans of West Coast music who might have easily overlooked it should be sure to rectify their mistake. CD $10 SKU:18999

TRUTH AND JANEY-Topeka Jam ( 70s midwest power trio Psych ) -Label:ROCKADROME RECORDS (USA) Excavated from the archives of a long-time roadie and brought back from the brink of disintegration comes this collection of live recordings made over several nights in Topeka, Kansas circa 1974. The celebrated Iowa hard rock trio is captured here in raw form doing what they did best, stretching out into extended jam sessions featuring heavy guitar action from Billylee Janey, booming fuzz bass from Steve Bock, and Denis Bunce locked in the zone behind his drum kit. "Midnight Horsemen," originally released as a 3-minute single in 1972, is featured here as a 22-minute jam and is a prime example of vintage Truth and Janey. Also included are several previously unreleased songs which have not been heard in over 40 years, as well as early versions of "Down the Road" and "My Mind," from their 1976 underground hard rock classic debut album, "No Rest for the Wicked." Digipak. CD $14 SKU:22586

WEST COAST CONSORTIUM -Mr Umbrella Man A Collection of Demos 1967-1969 (Brit psych pop) Label:WOODEN HILL West Coast Consortium's late 1960s 45s were sophisticated, lavishly-orchestrated close harmony pop affairs. At heart, though, they were a garage psychedelic pop band, as can be heard on 'Mr. Umbrella Man', which assembles the pick of the four demo albums they made between 1967 and 1969. Now heard for the first time, this astonishing cache of recordings reveals that, left to their own devices, West Coast Consortium ditched the brass and strings arrangements of their singles in favour of Mellotrons, fuzz guitars, Vox Continental organs and wah-wah pedals, while hitherto unreleased nuggets like 'Santa Monica Bay', 'Aimie (Sing Your Song For Me)' and the woozy 'Mr. Umbrella Man' show a parallel debt to the lo-fi, DIY approach of the Beach Boys circa 'Smiley Smile' and 'Friends'. Highly regarded late '60s English psych-pop band who have featured on such compilations as 'Real Life Permanent Dreams', 'Ripples', 'Psychedelic Schlemiels', 'Paisley Pop', 'Psychedelic Pstones', 'We Can Fly', 'Tea & Symphony' and 'Justafixation' 21 of the 27 tracks, all recorded between 1967-69, are previously unreleased in ANY format. Comes with fully re-mastered sound, a lavishly illustrated booklet and extensive notes by band leader Geoff Simpson. CD $17 SKU:23048

ACTION -Rolled GOld(legendary 60s psych)Label:GUERRSON The Action never became stars, but Rolled Gold justifies the legend.” - David Fricke (Rolling Stone Magazine) •Digitally remastered from the master tapes. •Insert with photos and detailed liner notes by Jason Barnard (Shindig!). •“It's as if Paul Weller time-travelled back to 1967 and wrote the best songs of his career. Every track is a fully realized melodic and lyrical statement.” – Matt Collar (allmusic.com)The legendary 1967-68 recordings by UK mod band THE ACTION, registered when they were in transition from mod-beat to full-blown psychedelia, just prior to becoming MIGHTY BABY. Originally recorded as a set of demos with the intention of obtaining an album deal which inexplicably never materialized, “Rolled Gold” is a collection of brilliant songs, melancholic yet powerful. The Action’s classic line-up of Reg King, Alan ‘Bam’ King, Michael Evans and Roger Powell is augmented with the inclusion of new members Martin Stone on guitar and Ian Whiteman on flute / organ. All of them are playing their hearts out: superb harmonies, great guitar work and clever arrangements which show the influence of bands like The Byrds and the psychedelic sounds that were coming from the West Coast and UK as well as jazz giants like Coltrane. Always the stuff of legend, The “Rolled Gold” tapes were shelved at the time, not released until 1997 when the Dig The Fuzz label discovered them and did a limited LP/CD run. Out of print on vinyl for many years, we present a new vinyl edition. If you dig the psychedelic era of SMALL FACES, PRETTY THINGS, THE WHO, plus THE CREATION, NAZZ, TOMORROW, BLOSSOM TOES, THE END or TRAFFIC…look no further.

Remastered sound, colour insert with rare photos and liner notes by David Wells. Includes digital download coupon. Charge were a British power-trio born from the ashes of local South Coast heavy-blues bands Baby Bertha and Sweet Poison. Comprised of Dave Ellis (guitar), Pete Gibbons (drums) and Ian Mclaughlin (bass), they played heavy rock influenced by Hendrix, Cream, Free, Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac, etc. In 1973 they cut a demo album at SRT studios of which 99 copies in blank covers were pressed and later distributed between family & friends, with a few of them also shipped to record companies in what proved to be an unsuccessful attempt at earning a recording contract. The music is raw hard-rock with unrestrained guitar, Lemmy-esque vocals and psych / heavy progressive touches. Side B contains the epic anti-war suite “Child Of Nations”. “One of the buried treasures of the early Seventies British psychedelic / progressive underground scene.” – David Wells LP $24 SKU:22081

ELECTRIC FUNERAL-The Wild Performance -Ear-splitting hard-rock / proto-doom-metal from the early 70s!DBLLabel:SOMMER Ear-splitting hard-rock / proto-doom-metal from the early 70s! double LP version; includes download. Ear-splitting hard-rock/proto-doom-metal from the early '70s, Electric Funeral were a pioneering Swiss hard-rock band who sadly never registered any studio recordings at the time. Formed in the late '60s by Edi Hirt (drums), Pierrot Wermeille (bass), Alain Christinaz (guitar), and Dominique Bourquin (vocals), they were influenced by bands like Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, and Led Zeppelin. Famous for their loud (they played behind giant stacks of Marshall amps) and powerful shows, their sound was too heavy-sounding for a regular label to offer them a contract. The Wild Performance is made of private live and rehearsal tapes recorded in 1970 -- very raw and lo-fi -- but it's the only testimony of their brutal sound. First released in 1991 as a limited LP, this is an expanded edition with newly remastered sound and four killer bonus tracks, taken from reels and tapes recently found in the band's archives. These tracks were also recorded in 1970 except for "My Destiny", which dates to 1973. The sound is still lo-fi but slightly better than the original tracks, especially on the killer "You Can Help" (proto-punk á la Electric Eels), "My Destiny" and the alternate version of "You Can Help". RIYL: Black Sabbath, Iron Claw, Edgar Broughton Band, Moses, Sainte Anthony's Fyre. Includes insert with rare photos and liner and notes by Klemen Breznikar (It's Psychedelic Baby). LP $32 SKU:20957

FACTORY- Path Thru the Forest (60s freakbeat legends)Label:GUERRSON Sixties UK freakbeat legends get a new legit re-release of their complete available recordings and Guerssen is the proud new home for them. A real cult freakbeat & psychedelic group, well-known for such all-time classics as "Path through the forest" and "Try a little sunshine", Factory released only a couple of 45s (both of them obscenely rare and paid big$$$ when rarely showing up). Here we get the 4 tracks appearing on these 45s, plus a couple tracks taken from acetates (killer covers of Familys "Second generation woman" and Fairport Conventions "Mr. Lacey"), as well as a new mix of "Path through the forest" that includes the original, different psychedelic effects that were supposed to make it to the original release but were dropped out by the MGM label superviser. Remastered sound (only beware, "Second generation woman" comes from a destroyed acetate!) and with linernotes by Factory's producer Brian Carroll LP $24 SKU:22866

IN TIME - Inside Your Mind (Homespun psych-punk-garage-pop from 1985)- Label:MENTAL EXPERIENCE Over a decade ago, Steve Krakow aka Plastic Crimewave found a cassette by a mysterious 80s band called In Time at a Chicago thrift shop. When he returned home and listened to it, he was amazed: “I had flashes of the TV Personalities (one of my fave "DIY" bands), early "paisley underground" like Three O'Clock (maybe when they were the Salvation Army), wobbly but illuminated 60s folk-garage like Faine Jade, and even first wave UK punk like Subway Sect or yes, thee Pistols. There were even jagged post-punk moves ala the Swell Maps or Scrotum Poles, outrageous phasing, trumpet, and something lacking so deeply in bands today—PERSONALITY”. Obsessed with it, Steve tracked down one of the band members in Pennsylvania and found out that there was more unreleased stuff. So here’s the first ever IN TIME vinyl LP. Including most of the songs from their ultra-rare cassette plus previously unreleased tracks. Like Steve says: “self-depreciating jangle-pop, furious power-chorded decrees, full-tilt psychedelia, experimental texture pieces--and actual tunes that will burrow into one's skull for weeks.” *Insert with liner notes by Steve Krakow (Plastic Crimewave / Galactic Archive)*Includes free digital download card.LP $25 SKU:20633

PYRAMID - ST (SPACEY KRAUTROCK)-Label:MENTAL EXPERIENCE •Digital download card. •Insert with liner notes by Alan Freeman (The Crack In The Cosmic Egg, Ultima Thule). •“…from trippy phases with echo guitars and Mellotron onto headfirst plunges into space-rock overdrive territory. In all, an excellent album of spacey Krautrock” – Alan Freeman Thirty-three minutes of pure, unadulterated, psychedelic Krautrock courtesy of PYRAMID: an obscure studio project produced by Toby Robinson aka The Mad Twiddler. These sessions were recorded circa 1975-76 in Cologne for the underground Pyramid label, which was operated by Toby and his friend Robin Page (the Fluxus artist). During that time, Toby worked as engineer and assistant at various studios in Cologne, including the famous Dieter Dierks studios, where most of the albums from the Ohr/Pilz/Cosmic Courier catalogue were registered. Having access to the studios during dead hours, Toby recorded lot of sessions just for fun without any commercial interest, featuring friends and musicians who frequented the studios and the underground art/music scene of Cologne. Some of these sessions were later relesed as hand-made vinyl micro pressings on his Pyramid label with help from artist Robin Page. LP $25 SKU:22833

SAINT ANTHONY'S FYRE-ST(legendary 70s Acid ARchives FAVE!) Label:ZONK , Acid Archives, says this about it: “This legendary private press is rated as one of the ultimate local basement hard rock blowouts by many connoisseurs. Released as early as 1970, the end result has some similarities to MC5 s hallowed Kick out the Jams, but I find this a superior and more powerful album." LP $22 SKU:22710

SPIRAL GALAXY -ST (Spacey Freak folk) Label:LION •Expansive kosmische sounds with sitar and electronics, that travels fwrom devotional soundscapes to motorik beats, freak-folk and beyond. •Guest-starring: Jean-Hervé of the legendary Faust, Kawabata of Acid Mothers Temple, Alisha Sufit of Magic Carpet, and Ryley Walker. •For heads who dig Yatha Sidhra, Emtidi, early Kraftwerk, La Düsseldorf, Popol Vuh, and Sand “GolemTraveling the spaceways as Spiral Galaxy, flautist/painter Sara Gossett and treated guitar/machines manipulator Plastic Crimewave (of Plastic Crimewave Syndicate/Galactic Zoo Dossier magazine) have created devotional sonic voyages and droney soundscapes with the occasional rhythmic pulse to conjure the textural and kosmische vibe of 70s German seekers like Yatha Sidhra, Emtidi, Popul Vuh, Achim Reichel, Sand, and early Kraftwerk. The duo have just completed their first album, expansive tracks they had been performing live on tours in the UK and Italy, plus USA events like Chicago Psych Fest, Milwaukee Psych Fest, Far Out Nashville festival, and The Feed Me Weird Things series in Iowa City.
Treating the studio as an instrument, new layers, instruments and collaborators were added to the heady mix, like special guests Jean-Hervé Péron of legendary avant-German collective Faust (who Spiral Galaxy was lucky enough to open for, and collaborate with on stage); Kawabata Makoto of Japanese communal psychlords Acid Mothers Temple on chants and spoken voice; and Alisha Sufit of UK 70s eastern-folk band Magic Carpet (also chanting her heart out). Also appearing on the album are guitar wunderkind Ryley Walker (playing backwards guitar on this, not easy!), Taralie of Spires that in the Sunset Rise on Terry Riley-ish circular sax, sitar-player Hands of Hydra, Moog-maestro Will MacLean of Protovulcan, and Christian Luke Brady of meditative Virginia cosmonauts Fargon. What results is a dense, hallucinogenic, sonic tapestry of an LP that covers many moods—from divine soundscapes to Krautrock's motorik beats, doomy experimental pieces to dark acid folk, and beyond. WOLFGANG -Eliminate Hate (1970 TEXAS PSY CH)Label:OUT-SIDER Originally recorded in 1970, previously unreleased "After more than 30 years hidden in a dusty storage unit, we present the previously unreleased album from one of the most enigmatic bands from the Texas psychedelic scene. An unusual blend of 60s garage-punk, Texas psychedelia (think 13th Floor Elevators or Golden Dawn), The Seeds, The Misunderstood, late era Velvet Underground, ‘70s era Stones and ‘70s pre-punk swagger. Awesome distorted steel guitar, super snotty vocals and the killer “Wolf” Mike Long (Stone Axe, Josefus) on electric guitar. Wolfgang were a young band from Pasadena, Texas, discovered by legendary Texas mogul C.L. Millburn (Sea Ell Records, The Coachmen, Knights Bridge, etc). Little is known about the band and what exactly happened to them after recording this album. But we do know that they were leaded by the great “Wolf” Mike Long (guitar player who was also part of Stone Axe and a temporary member of Josefus) and they also featured an unusual steel guitar player whose electrified sound recalls Glenn Campbell (The Misunderstood, Juicy Lucy) at his best. In 1970, Wolfgang recorded a set of songs written by Milburn, originally intended as demos to secure a deal with a bigger company. Eight songs were taped using Milburn’s trusty Sony two-track reel-to-reel, the same one he used to record childhood friend Townes Van Zandt in late ’66-’67. The major company deal never came so the tapes were stored at the Sea Ell archives for many years and Wolfgang disappeared in the mist of time. In 1994, three tracks from the Wolfgang sessions appeared on a compilation called “The History Of Texas Garage Bands In The '60s Volume 1: The Sea Ell Label Story”, released by the Collectables label. They were credited to “The Wolves”. Several years later, Michael Greisman from Cicadelic Records discovered the complete Wolfgang recordings while investigating the Sea Ell tape archive and Milburn revealed to him the real history behind the Wolfgang project. The complete recordings have remained unreleased until now. LP $25 SKU:22828
