GREEN PAJAMAS- SUMMER OF LUST (former Bomp band!) -Label:GREEN MONKEY In 1984 Jeff Kelly and Joe Ross recorded a mess of songs on a 4-track reel-to-reel up in Joe's attic. They released it locally as a cassette, 'Summer Of Lust'. If you hear the Pajamas referred to as psyche-anything it springs from here. We are making Summer of Lust available to the public for the first time in twenty-two years. About time. What you get here is two young guys filled with wild inspiration. Nothing slick. Nothing professional. Just beautiful. How did we get here? GMR Prez Dyer bought the cassette in 1984. Loved it. Called em up. Re-released the cassette. In 1989, Greg Shaw from Bomp started Ubik records in the UK and released it on vinyl to underground acclaim. After that, obscurity. Joe Ross has threatened to release it on his own Endgame label for years, but the threats were idle. 2012 is time to get it done. Remastered by Tom Dyer and Joe Ross, Summer of Lust shows Kelly and Ross at the brilliant stepping off point for over twenty-five albums to come. Raw. Simple and complex at the same time. If you love The Green Pajamas, you need this. If this is your first time, start the grand adventure here. Release features extensive liner notes. New video for I Feel That Way All The Time made from vintage footage. CD $16 SKU:23693

J.FRANK WILSON & THE CAVALIERS- Last Kiss: Definitive Collection (TEXAS 60’s roock and roll) -Label:COLLECTABLES From San Angelo, Texas, their recording of "Last Kiss" went to number one and two in November of 1964 on the Cash Box and Billboard top 100! "Last Kiss" was recorded along with all the other tracks on this Cd at Accurate Sound Studios. Some of these recordings first appeared in 1998 on the Cd entitled "Last Kiss Sessions" but the bulk of these recordings have remained unreleased since their inception over forty years ago and they never sounded better Taken straight from the first generation tapes that were stored at Accurate Sound Studios, many of the tracks are alternate versions, different mixes and outtakes, which when combined make up for a intoxicating mix of great Texas music from the golden era of rock and roll. CD $10 SKU:23660

SNOWY DUNES-ATLANTIS(70s style heavy psych blues)Label: OZIUM Snowy Dunes have caught a heavy blues. They're far from the only ones. The last couple years have witnessed a nascent surge of soul-driven heavy rock, and whether manifest in the high-order pop hooks of Snowy Dunes' Swedish countryfolk Blues Pills, the grit of New York's Geezer or the dug-in jams of Australia's Child, these worldwide examples are tied together through a blend of sonic fluidity, songcraft, open atmosphere and underlying naturalism that carries across this core sound as a next logical step forward for what in the earlier part of the decade might've been more straight-ahead boogie rock recorded on vintage gear. Snowy Dunes keeps impressing with their psychedelic/blues rock, putting themselves at the top of interesting bands from Sweden! You don't need any recreational drugs to take the journey. Just let the music in and it will do the rest for you. If you like you music spiced with a huge dose of the '70s then you have come to the right band. CD $17 SKU:23662

RESTOCKS

ANT TRIP CEREMONY-24 HOUR-Label:CICADELIC RECORDS With photos and the story of the group as related by its members. The Ant Trip Ceremony album was recorded during two sessions. the first session was in February of 1968 in a rented hall at Oberlin. Steve was there for the first sessions but had left Oberlin by the spring of 1968 and was not present for the second recording session. The album was called "Twenty Four Hours"because that was the feeling behind the sessions. The band felt ready to record their original songs. These were performed live before student audiences. During live shows, the band was wild, but sadly no live tapes exist. Thus the original songs done on the album when performed live were more psychedelic and improvised. The band was known for getting into strange and long jams. Furthermore no song was ever done twice exactly the same. They were, in some ways like the Grateful Dead of the region. When the band played it was a happening, a genuine psychedelic event. Shows went on for hours, with the audience in a wide variety of states of consciousness. The artwork for the album was of its time with psychedelic-mind-zapping art work. It was without a doubt a counterculture statement!! Musically the whole album has a strong west-coast feel and influenced of Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Quicksilver but also Hendrix are felt troughout the album. A classic psychedelic album. CD $10 SKU:22970

BRAINSTORM -Smile A While(1972 Krautrock Hendrix inspired) Label:LION With this record from 1972, Brainstorm, led by future Guru Guru stalwart Roland Schaeffer, established themselves as one of Germany’s premier bands. Their complex Krautrock, based on strange harmonics (thanks to Schaeffer’s enthusiasm for Jimi Hendrix and the free jazz sounds of John Coltrane and Pharoah Sanders), and impelled by wild and distorted sax, flute, and Vox organ, would later put them smack in the middle of that bible for the intrepid musical adventurer, the revolutionary music reference guide known as the Nurse With Wound list. As NWW themselves said, "Categories strain, crack and sometimes break, under their burden—step out of the space provided." What better endorsement of Brainstorm could there be? Brainstorm took only fifteen days including mixing (during the tragic 1972 Munich Olympics, as it happens), to record their favorite numbers, all under the direction of a producer little interested in their music. That’s a great shame, for these recordings show Brainstorm to be one of the best of the inventive off-beat bands of the era, along with the likes of Moving Gelatine Plates (France), Pazop (Belgium), and of course, Soft Machine and Caravan. Booklet reproduces all original LP gatefold art; liner-notes tell the band’s history up to the completion of this album. Includes all the tracks from "Smile A While," plus three heavily grooving bonus tracks originally recorded for SWF radio in 1971 as Fashion Pink. CD $10 SKU:19977

COUNTRY FUNK -ST (1970 psych/blues/country) Label:SLIPSTREAM First released in May 1970, Country Funk's debut was a confident and heady mix of psych, blues rock and country rock. Despite achieving little success in their day, 40 years on the "Funkers" are now highly regarded, finally achieving the credit that they were originally denied. The 'Country Funk'-LP was released in May 1970 after a few name and line up changes, plus a short prison sentence. At the album's heart lie the influences of Buffalo Springfield, Poco and a dose of hairy Byrds, Moby Grape and the Dead. Although not a classic, this loosely groovin' but tight collection of songs moves along nicely with genuine heart and soul." Country Funk's debut has been newly packaged with extensive liner notes, unpublished photos and 4 unreleased bonus tracks, and four 1967 cuts from earlier outfit ADAM including the superb Bee Gees like 'Woman' (later covered by Pure Prairie League) and the trippy 'Melrose Street 5829' (which easily rivals anything Emitt Rhodes cut around this time). CD $14 SKU:23525

DUKES-ST(live set from 71, killer Kraut psych) Label:RED LOUNGE Finally on CD!! Comes with an LP worth of bonus tracks, a FULL LIVE SET from 1971 which has totally different songs and is a real psychedelic kraut killer, showing once more just what a great band the Dukes where!! German freakbeat legends. CD $19 SKU:23614

FERRIS WHEEL-ONE -SUPERNATURAL GIRL(1974 UK's rarest stoner-folk)Label:AUDIO ARCHIVES This is a re-mastered CD of one of the UK's rarest stoner-folk albums. Recorded in 1974, it features 14 original compositions along with fresh sleevenotes etc. This is one of the UK's ultimate downer-folk obscurities with electric sorrow and heartache etched deeply into every note. CD $14 SKU:21840

JUJUS - You Treat Me Bad 65-67 ( 60s garage psych PEbbles style ) Label:CICADELIC RECORDS Since their arrival on the music scene in 1965, the mystique of The JuJus and their lead singer, Ray Hummel, has continued to grow over the ensuing decades (helped along by the inclusion of 'You Treat Me Bad' on the first volume of Pebbles in 1979). Their first single 'You Treat Me Bad' rose to the number two position on the top 40 and catapulted the band to regional fame in Michigan. The JuJus initially blended an impressive brand of folk-rock and British-invasion sounds with a raw garage band sound. In 1967 they opted for a more psychedelic sound. Compiled on this CD are all the JuJu singles, as well as a plethora of unreleased gems from 1965 to 1967. A detailed booklet contains photos, radio surveys, band memorabilia, and a retrospective of The JuJus as related by band member Rod Shepard. The front cover photo of The JuJus features Ray Hummel, Max Colley, Bill Gorski and Rod Shepard. Also pictured are the JuJus at Kent Country Airport during the heigh of JuJu-mania, ready to take on the world in 1965." CD $10 SKU:23101

LEMON FOG, THE- Summer With ( 60s psych ) Label:CICADELIC RECORDS (USA) "The spacey psychedelic sound of The Lemon Fog never sounded better with all their singles, previously unreleased outtakes, and complete version of 'Summer,' all from the original master tapes CD $10 SKU:13561

ODYSSEY- -Setting Forth (One of the ten rarest psych albums from the USA)gatefold mini-LP slv Deluxe Ed. 2xCD Label:LION This is truly one of the pinnacles of underground psychedelic music, recorded in 1969, released in an edition of fewer than 100 copies, and impossible to find as it only came in a plain white cardboard sleeve; an incredible, musically accomplished, hard rocking album of originals that jumps right out of the speakers and grabs you, from it’s opening In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida-esque riffs right to the grooving end. The 24-page booklet that accompanies this two-disc set has the complete band history by Odyssey leader Vinny Kusy, as well as rare photos from his own archive. Bonus tracks on disc one are three “basement recordings” from the “Setting Forth” era. The second disc contains Odyssey “Live at Levittown Memorial Auditorium: 1974,” a live recording that was never really meant to be, recorded by Odyssey’s sound engineer on a portable cassette recorder. It is the only document of Odyssey in their progressive rock phase, just before sometime Odyssey keyboardist Tom Doncourt and band-member Fred Callan recorded their legendary Cathedral “Stained Glass Stories” album.•One of the ten rarest psych albums from the USA•Sleeve notes by the group's leader and keyboardist Vinny Kusy CD $15 SKU:15490

SALMON, KIM -& THE SURREALISTS--YA GOTTA LET ME DO MY THING/FREAK-(Scientists) DBL CD Label:CITADEL Kim Salmon and the Surrealists are an Australian indie rock band formed by Kim Salmon in 1987 when he was living in Perth between the final two tours by The Scientists. When the Scientists stopped, Salmon continued the Surrealists as his main band while playing in Beasts of Bourbon. CD $12 SKU:23301

SNAKEGRINDER - And the Shredded Fieldmice (70s psych Grateful Dead style) - Label:OBSCURE OXIDE "Every burg in the '70s that had a steady supply of weed and electricity undoubtedly provided a birthing ground for the formation of bands influenced by the likes of Jerry Garcia and Lowell George, and the Delaware area was no different. What was different was that our subjects-at-hand got it together and in 1977 released an unassuming document for posterity, containing nothing but original, winding (dare we say "snake-like"?) compositions and good vibes throughout. Since then, the album has garnered accolades from the Acid Archives crowd and so we felt the time was right to give the group's efforts a proper (and properly licensed from the band) presentation, with an "old-style" heavy mini-LP sleeve and thick booklet containing pics, gig posters, song lyrics and liner notes by producer and longtime fan GREGOR ALLIGATOR. In addition, we've added a half-hour of unreleased live tracks from the same era, and everything you hear (album and bonus) was transferred from the mastertapes." CD $10 SKU:23659

T2- ST (obscure 70s psych prog) -Label:ACME LION Even though fame and fortune never came to pass for T2, their Decca album “It’ll All Work out in Boomland” has become an all-time classic amongst collectors of progressive and psychedelic music, and even in the techno and dj scenes. Apart from a 1970 Sound of the 70’s BBC radio session, (included on our Acme/Lion reissue of “It’ll All Work Out in Boomland,” ACLN 1010 CD), fans assumed that “Boomland” was both the beginning and the end of the group’s recorded legacy. But Acme Records unearthed an eponymous second album of material, recorded in 1970 with the original line-up as demo tracks for a planned second album. This was first released way back in the late 1990’s, and is now available again thanks to the new Acme/Lion version which is the subject of this one-sheet. This second T2 album, had it been released in 1970, could have put the band on the same level of fame with the likes of Deep Purple, Free, and King Crimson (bands with whom T2 shared a stage). It’s hard-driving opener ‘Highway,’ ablaze with wailing guitars, gives way to moody introspection, culminating with the LSD induced finale ‘T2.’ It’s music that is dreamy without being sleepy; heavy without danger of suffocation. Those of you who were lucky enough to snap up a copy of the limited Acme Deluxe pressings of this album many years ago now can testify to the importance of these recordings. For those of you who missed out the first time around—or who have only recently discovered the greatness of the mighty T2—all we can say is, enjoy the power and glory of the second T2 album! CD $10 SKU:15627

The Exotics began as a rock and roll band in 1959, but by 1966 were recording psych-pop and folk-rock gems. They released three singles, one of them, 'Come With Me,' reaching the top ten. The Esquires formed in 1965 and recorded four singles, mixing folk-rock with a hard edged sound. The wild 'Come On Come On' and 'Judgment Day' are what make The Esquires legendary today. SUMMER TURNS TO AUTUMN - Ember Rock, Vol. 2 (RARE 60S PSYCH& PROG)-Label:FANTASTIC VOYAGE British indie label Ember released a number of rock albums and singles between 1969 and 1972, which today are much sought after by collectors of psychedelic, progressive and folk rock sounds. Many of the best tracks from these are gathered on “Summer Turns To Autumn”. Foremost among the artists compiled here is progressive rock band Blonde On Blonde, represented by tracks from both of their Ember albums. Fantastic Voyage has salvaged two tracks from Blue Beard s album. An early songwriting/production project for Bob Welch, who next surfaced in Fleetwood Mac, the album was only released in Italy, but the single ‘Sly Willy’ was more widely available and is highly prized by collectors of funky rock. Tyrannosaurus Rex-style acoustic hippy duo Knocker Jungle and progressive folk group 9.30 Fly each managed one now highly collectable long player for the label. The remainder of the material ranges from the fuzzy psychedelic rock of Canadians The Dorians and the melodic folk rock of Paddy Maguire, backed by heavy friends Steve Winwood and Jerry Donahue (of Fotheringay), to the soul-rock fusion of Milt Matthews Inc, here interpreting a Blind Faith song, and a previously unissued folk rock rendition of ‘East Virginia’ by Polly Niles. “Summer Turns To Autumn” complement Fantastic Voyage’s existing, highly popular compilations of Ember Beat and Ember Pop, with no duplication of tracks. Nice shrink-wrapped slip-case packaging. COMP CD $10 SKU:19046

THUNDERTREE-ST (70s Mpls killer fuzzed out garage) Label:GUERSSEN Coming from the same Minneapolis '60s scene which spawned bands like The Litter, Thundertree evolved from garage band The Good Idea. In 1970 they released their sole album for the Roulette label: a perfect example of the transition from psychedelia to hard-rock and early progressive sounds. Killer fuzzed out guitar, organ, powerful vocals. Including hard-psych classics like 'In The Morning" or 'Room At The Top Of The Stairs' along with the monstruous 17 minute long '2025' suite. For this, the first ever legit vinyl reissue of Thundertree, the label included two previously unreleased tracks: 'Pepper Palace' (a great psychedelic number) plus a storming cover of 'Sixteen Tons', which was the signature song on Thundertree's live shows. Both tracks were recorded at UA Studios, Minneapolis, in 1970. An insert with lot of pictures and bio notes by Billy Hallquist (Thundertree, Persephone Billy) is also included. 24-Bit remastered sound. LP $29 SKU:23549
