VAGRANTS-I Can't Make A Friend 1965 - 1968 LAST COPIES! BUCKLEY, TIM-Lady, Give Me Your Key: The Unissued 1967 Solo Acoustic Sessions Label:LITA In 1967, the face of rock was changing. In that year alone there were debut albums from The Velvet Underground, The Doors, and Pink Floyd, to name a few. The Beatles had combined orchestration with their music—the result was Sgt. Peppers in June, the same month that Tim Buckley recorded Goodbye & Hello. Available here for the first time are these newly discovered master tapes, recorded by Goodbye & Hello’s producer Jerry Yester, along with an ultra-rare acetate, found to be in co-songwriter (and best friend) Beckett’s possession. CD $10 SKU:24190

CHILLIWACK - All Over You(Canadian 70s pop) LAST COPIES Label:PACEMAKER Chilliwack rose from the ashes of The Collectors: while spending time in California, the Collectors had been signed to a record deal. After a pair of albums and a string of radio singles between 1967 and 1969, and tours with the likes of The Doors and Jefferson Airplane, The Collectors were dead… and up sprung Chilliwack. The band released an eponymous double album set a year later (1971), featuring the classics ‘Lonesome Mary,’ ‘Music For A Quiet Time,’ and the seventeen-minute long ‘Night-Morning.’ To sort out any confusion, fans refer to the first Chilliwack album as "The Mask Album" and this as "The Double Album" as it was originally... guess what? a double album. From the back of the album: "A few words about the music... Our objective in the studio was to get as much life into the music as we could. Side One contains songs we hope are suitable for AM play. "Changing Reels," on Side Two, is a long sectional composition. The lead vocals in the last section are improvisations, and the song was written around then afterwards. "Music For a Quiet Time" was performed by Bill and Claire sitting in an echo chamber for a couple of hours. "Night-Morning" is the result of a studio full of instruments and microphones set up to record any free-form music we might want to play. Ross sat at the organ and started to play sounds with hands, head and elbows. Bill and Claire joined in with piano, flute and vocals, and the piece grew from there. We hope you find something here for you. CD $10 SKU:19932

CHILLIWACK - ST (Canadian 70s pop) LAST COPIES Label:PACEMAKER With their catchy, easygoing hooks and bright, melodic style — distinguished by the soaring falsetto and tasteful guitar playing of lead singer and principal songwriter Bill Henderson — the Vancouver rock band Chilliwack produced some of the most enduring Canadian songs of the 1970s and early 1980s, including “Lonesome Mary,” “Fly at Night,” and “My Girl (Gone Gone Gone). DEVIL’S KITCHEN- Been A Long Time Coming, Be A Long Time Gone- (legendary SF 60s psych ) Label:NONE Band-produced CD covers their entire rambling, gigging, rubbing-shoulders-with-a-multitude-of-famous-bands in the legendary San Francisco psychedelic scene of the late 1960’s existence. Duplicates only one track from the Lysergic Sound LP release of the band’s recordings, one of our best sellers here at Lion Productions… which means eleven recordings get their debut on this disc!"Devil's Kitchen Band was a four-piece rock and roll band that lived and performed in San Francisco from the spring of 1968 through the summer of 1970. They were the “house band” at Chet Helm’s “Family Dog on the Great Highway,” opening for, and often jamming with, many of the most well-known groups of the times. They performed at all of the major West Coast venues from San Francisco’s Fillmore to L.A.’s Whisky A Go Go. This CD is a collection of live recordings from 1969 and 1970 in San Francisco and is an attempt to give the listener the feel of being at a show at one of the venues of the times. The tracks were recorded on different days, in different halls, by different engineers. We have remastered these tracks to sound as much as possible as if they were all recorded the same evening as a coherent set of live music. We hope you enjoy this set of twelve songs from the late 60s San Francisco by one of the very talented but little known bands of the era. Peace, Love & Music, from Devil’s Kitchen” Legendary stuff, available at a crazy low price, in the least expected format in this day and age. So why hesitate or wonder? FLIPPERS, LOS - PRONTO VIVEREMOS UN MUNDO MUCHO.(Columbian 60s/70s Psych)-Label:GUERSSEN One of Colombia's better known 60s & 70s groups is Los Flippers. But few people outside Colombia knows about this wonderful 1973 album they did. Its probably because it was self-released by their leader Arturo Astudillos own label rather than the bigger labels they used before, hence low sales. But in any case, its no doubt a great album that must be heard. The music on this album is quite special, as it blends psychedelia with progressive sound and soul as well. With a very good production, here we find Los Flippers at their peak of inspiration and being now a bunch of very experimented musicians. The result is much more mature than any of their previous works of course, and they really achieved a sound that ranges with any supergroup. With all original compositions except a Buddy Miles cover, they used a good dose of psychedelic effects and some tasty horns as well. As an addition, this first ever reissue comes with a killer bonus track from an earlier 45, with a killer sound reminiscent of Iron Butterfly. Remastered sound from tapes (except the bonus track), and insert with liners by Arturo Astudillo. CD $10 SKU:10036

PERERIN -TEITHGAN (1981 Welsh psych folk-rockers)-Label:GUERSSEN Awesome second longplayer by Welsh psychedelic folk-rockers Pererin. Traditional Welsh folk meets rock with psychedelic guitar leads, flute, male/female vocals... This was originally released in 1981 on the Gwerin label and for many it is their best work, and it's definitely its rarest one. Definitely one of the best albums of the genre, another superb rarity brought to you with a legit reissue by Guerssen. CD comes with booklet, jewelcase with outer carton slimcase cover. CD $10 SKU:21115

SCHIBBINZ - Livin Free (rare 1967 Argentine garage ) SALE! - Label:GUERSSEN In 1967, a bunch of U.S. and Argentinean kids recorded a magical album which has remained unknown for many years due to its extreme rarity, with less than a handful of copies known to exist. Released in 1968 in Argentina by Phonexa, the Schibbinz album could be regarded as the ultimate teen garage folk-rock album, ever. An album of fragile beauty, full of teen charm, innocent vocals, jangly guitars, charming, lo-fi sound and a lost-in-time atmosphere. Guerssen Records is proud to present this mega-rare album to the world, with the production fully benefitting from the band's involvement and assistance. The original master tapes were lost, but the sound has been carefully-remastered from an original near-mint copy. Extensive, detailed liner-notes and lots of cool pictures from the band's archives are all included in a 4-page insert. Also includes 3 unreleased bonus tracks not available on the vinyl version. CD $10 SKU:10995

SHOCK ST (obscure 70s garage psych) - Label:GUERSSEN (Spain) previously-unreleased -a Major discovery in the Spanish Psych-Prog collector scene: a previously unreleased album from 1970 by this obscure Spanish garage-psych band . Until now, Shock were a total mystery. They only released one 45 back at the time (the killer acid-fuzz punker "No se puede ser Superman") and nothing was known about the band...until we tracked them down. We discovered that prior to their 45 release, they recorded a whole album which was never released. Shock's music is underground garage-psychedelia with crude acid-fuzz guitar, effects, English vocals...think of Agua de Regaliz, early Pan & Regaliz, Cerebrum or even obscure Brazilian bands such as Tobruk but with a more primitive sound. The album features ten songs including the original versions of the two tracks later re-recorded for their only 45: "No se puede ser Superman" (titled here "I'm being mad", it's a different and superior English sung version) and "I want to laugh" (a longer version than the one included on the 45). Remastered from the original 2-track tape (which is unfortunately not in perfect condition, but more than good enough). CD comes with colour booklet. album from 1970 by this obscure Spanish garage-psych band., including an insert with detailed liner notes in English/Spanish. CD comes with a color booklet. CD $19 SKU:23553

Hghly collectable and legendary 1972 self-titled album by 9:30 Fly. Formed in Cheltenham in 1971, 9:30 were a highly original band who took in folk and progressive influences in their work. Released on the Ember label in 1972, “9:30 Fly” is legendary for the originality of the music within and also for its great rarity. Although the album failed to make a commercial impression at the time of its release, it is now regarded as a milestone in Progressive/Folk Rock. ACROSS THE WATER-ST (1975 prog rock rarity)Remastered, Gatefold-Label:SEELIE COURT Split LP has neo-classical prog rock epic on side one, and “gorgeous” downer folk on side two. "An unknown and precious album recorded in 1975 by two friends who recorded one side each, they made just two acetates and then handmade beautiful covers from two enlargements of a photograph of the Isles of St Kilda. Side one is a neo classical prog rock epic in the style of Renaissance and Continuum, inspired by the wild and pagan isles of St Kilda where, as a 16 yr old, the composer Peter McKerrow was taken by military launch to conduct a census on the rare Soay Sheep that live there. A storm blew away his tent on the first night. The other side is by his Canadian pal who attended the same Uni in england, deeply homesick for Canada and surviving a broken relationship these songs are melancholic and Leonard Cohen-esque. The original Lp is astonishingly gorgeous and one of the most desirable artifacts of the prog era.” Gatefold edition, limited to 500x copies. LP $28 SKU:24143

AMON DÜÜL - PARADIESWARTZ DUUL-legendary 1971 Krautrock Label:WAH WAH Recorded in 1971, Amon Düül’s only album for Ohr was a visonary slice of acid-folk which has gained cult status as years passed by. Ritualistic folk-rock, pastoral hippie songs, stoned jams, eastern flavours, mystical passages and heavy hypnotic riffing which are in fact very different from the early Amon Düül epic freaked-out improvisations (Psychedelic Underground) or Amon Düül II complex and psyched-up progressive works (Phallus Dei). LP $28 SKU:24144

ANACONDA-Sympathy For the Madman (1969 post-Arcadium psychedelic folk masterpiece)Label:SEELIE COURT A post-Arcadium psychedelic folk masterpiece, recorded by Miguel Sergides and previously only existing on one acetete LP (which was lost since 1969), is finally available for the world to hear! Much of Anaconda's music reminds of Comus, albeit with a more melancholic - and less disturbing - mood. This edition is limited to 500 copies. LP $28 SKU:24145

CITY BLUES - Blues For Lawrence Street (Ultra-rare private garage blues 67)-Label:VOID RECORDS (USA Ultra-rare private garage blues LP from the Los Angeles area (released on Nouveau Records in 1967); reminds many of early Quicksilver Messenger Service, specifically the 1966 pre-Cipollina lineup as heard on the Groucho releases. Trebly guitars, wailing harmonica, etc. One of the rarest California private LPs with originals virtually non-existent and fetching large sums. Limited to 500 copies." As Bob Lescher recalled, "I got mad at Dick and threw a harmonica at him. My patience was pretty short in those days. Lucky that he ducked. It left a hole in the acoustics on the wall of the studio. The final track, 'Smokestack Lightning,' is about twelve minutes long with all sorts of noddling going on. It was our take on Butterfield's East-West." LP $17 SKU:16353

CONSTANTINE -IN MEMORY OF A SUMMER DAY(Underground psych folk) Label:GUERSSEN Day Of Light', the first album by Chicago musician Constantine, released as a private edition in 2015, took the underground psych-folk scene by storm and it's now a cult album between psychedelic aficionados. FLUX-ST (1973 monsterpiece King Crimson style) GATEFOLD Label:SEELIE COURT Searing art rock monsterpiece dominated by a relentlessly coruscating lead guitar sonic attack as if played by a demonically possessed John McLaughlin. Flux is ex-Babe Ruth, ex-Motiffe, with lead guitar by John Grimaldi before he joined Argent and worked on their prog masterpiece 'Circus'. This LP is taken from a mono mastertape recorded on a BBC Mobile Unit at a live gig in 1973. A shocked Record Mirror journalist witnessed the concert and described it in a published Record Mirror review as 'a new form of music'. Sound quality is great and this is a band in top form playing exactly what they want, in a zone a bit like King Crimson's 'Red', but with insane guitar leads that bludgeon the listener to death. The vocalist later joined Italian prog rockers Flea On The Honey. Play this with a hangover and you will die in screaming agony. One very short track, and four very long ones. The gig ended with an IRA bomb scare. Yes really. LP $28 SKU:24151

IRISH COFFEE-ST(1971 Vintage hard rock Deep Purple style) - Label:GUERSSEN Here’s the first ever authorized vinyl reissue of this classic. Excellent vintage hard-rock made in Belgium in 1971 and originally released in the Triangle label. Their sound was clearly influenced by Deep Purple or even Uriah Heep, with killer guitar all over and good use of organ. This has been considered as a key album in the hard-rock field since the early days of collecting, with originals fetching some big money! High-quality reissue in 180g vinyl, nice carton with original artwork, and an insert with liners and photos LP $24 SKU:22827

JOINT EFFORT -Final Effort (intriguing folk/rock/psych 1974) SAALE! -Label:VOID/HALLUCINATIONS RECORDS (USA) With its immediately recognizable M C Escher cover, this intriguing folk/rock/psych release from 1974 is another incredibly rare album enjoying its first legitimate reissue. A Joint Effort's Final Effort was originally recorded and released by Canada's University Of New Brunswick on its Little Records label (Little Records 101); despite its lack of wider recognition, this is generally regarded by those who know as a diverse and eclectic album with a number of outstanding tracks. One pundit described it as 'a weird mix of early CSNY, with shades of Perth County Conspiracy and a dash of early Eagles thrown in.' The first side, with the superb 'Winter' is particularly impressive—largely acoustic hippy folk rock with the occasional electric guitar thrown in for good measure. Side two, however, is an altogether rockier affair with standout tracks 'Greed For Goldand,' an up-tempo fuzzed-out cover of ‘A Horse With No Name’ combining effectively to elevate Final Effort to a different musical plane. Original cover has been reproduced as well as rare original insert. LP $15 SKU:19256

KAK-ST(rare 1968 Calif. psych!) Label:MAD ABOUT GUERSSEN A West Coast classic back on vinyl at last! Recorded in 1968, the lone album by the group known as Kak is a beloved masterpiece, full of the inspiration and promise associated with the California psychedelic dream. The oddly-named, eminently talented quartet from the college town of Davis was together less than a year from start to finish, yet within that short time created a record renowned for powerful performances, solid production values and the brilliance of its song craft, with a full playlist of compelling material like ‘Electric Sailor’, ‘Lemonaide Kid’ and ‘Trieulogy'. Kak can stand nobly alongside records like Surrealistic Pillow, Electric Music For The Mind And Body, Sailor or the first Moby Grape album, as one of the most satisfying listens of the late 1960s SF rock renaissance.
This newly remastered vinyl edition features extensive liner notes by Kak aficionado Alec Palao, with contributions from band members Gary Lee Yoder, Dehner Patten, Joe-Dave Damrell and Chris Lockheed.“First rate westcoast psych” – Patrick Lundborg (Acid Archives)Housed in heavy cardboard sleeve plus OBI. Colour four pannel insert with photos and liner notes by Alec Palao LP $28 SKU:21989

OOSTEN, MICHAEL - St (70s hippie psych) HAND SCREENED COVER w 3 bonus tracks.-Label:WAY GONE + LION PRODUCTIONS (USA) Keeping a band together was difficult in the late 1960’s. Tough too, because Michael Oosten was writing songs that veered away from pop-song structures. There was also the relative ease and lack of responsibility required for hauling around a guitar. So, Oosten took off, with a Martin guitar in tow, playing coffeehouses and clubs across the country. By the end of 1973, he was ready to record an LP—five psychedelic folk/rock tracks, ranging from the brightly smiling ‘Sunny Day’ to the epic ‘Hungry Horse Montana,’ where Oost switched seamlessly from Celtic picking to Middle Eastern chord progressions. Oosten filled out his folk/rock/psych sound with the help of a few friends: piano from Tom Hennick on ‘Hey Babe,’ vocals from Jan Reek on ‘Garden,’ and bass from Al Byla on ‘Sunny Day.’ Oosten's wayward vocals puts us in mind of other meandering faves from various eras (Incredible String Band, Perry Leopold, or the Meatpuppets, to name but three), and Oost proves himself a stellar guitarist in an eccentric and percussive mode. Considering the individualistic nature of the album's genesis, no surprise that marketing and publicity for the album was limited. Columbia Records expressed interest in Oosten's music; but after a single meeting with the label, it was clear that the album would be too difficult for the mainstream honchos to market. Oost and friend Lester D'ore (editor of Chicago countercultural paper Seed and designer of the Yippie flag) holed up at D'ore's Wisconsin commune farm to silkscreen each LP jacket by hand. For our deluxe Lion Productions replica edition, they’ve done that again—we've used the original screens for this hand-screened, hand-assembled replica edition. Label:WAH WAH A fantastic release offering the complete late '60s recordings from US pre-MORMOS outfit SPOILS OF WAR. This interesting band combined psychedelic rock with adventurous electronic experimentation, comparable to f.i. The United States Of America/Joe Byrd And The Field Hippies and 50 Foot Hose, with a dash of folkrock due to the contributions from female vocalist Annie Hat. Back in the day the band only released two rare 7-inches, but thanks to the -now out of print- releases from Shadoks Records, Spoils Of War achieved cult status afterall. Now this deluxe Wah-Wah Records double-LP collects the remastered '60s studio recordings from the band, complete with previously unissued material, making for a splendid release. Also included are a repress of the debut 7-inch, a sticker, full colour pix, and liner notes from Jim Cuomo and Klemen Breznikar (It's Psychedelic Baby).
