SAALE AND RESTOCK

ANT TRIP CEREMONY-24 HOUR (1968 psych Hendrix Airplane style)Label:CICADELIC RECORDS With photos and the story of the group as related by its members. The Ant Trip Ceremony album was recorded during two sessions. the first session was in February of 1968 in a rented hall at Oberlin. Steve was there for the first sessions but had left Oberlin by the spring of 1968 and was not present for the second recording session. The album was called "Twenty Four Hours"because that was the feeling behind the sessions. The band felt ready to record their original songs. These were performed live before student audiences. During live shows, the band was wild, but sadly no live tapes exist. Thus the original songs done on the album when performed live were more psychedelic and improvised. The band was known for getting into strange and long jams. Furthermore no song was ever done twice exactly the same. They were, in some ways like the Grateful Dead of the region. When the band played it was a happening, a genuine psychedelic event. Shows went on for hours, with the audience in a wide variety of states of consciousness. The artwork for the album was of its time with psychedelic-mind-zapping art work. It was without a doubt a counterculture statement!! Musically the whole album has a strong west-coast feel and influenced of Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Quicksilver but also Hendrix are felt troughout the album. A classic psychedelic album. CD $10 SKU:22970

BEACHWOOD SPARKS- Desert Skies (LA-based cosmic psych country-rock) Label:ALIVE Desert Skies" is the previously unreleased debut album by LA-based cosmic country-rock combo the Beachwood Sparks. The album includes their first 1998 single, as well as never-heard before recordings, all carefully remastered. A must-have for fans of the band, and for Southern California psychedelic pop lovers everywhere. digipack w 4 bonus tracks and 8 page booklet - CD $10 SKU:15525

BLACK LIPS - S/T(Stripped down and dirty punk rock and roll ) - Label:BOMP Records garage/punk's new kings of mayhem! "Stripped down and dirty punk rock and roll that will suffice for the perfect soundtrack to a whiskey filled night of mischief. Youthful and deep dyed garage rock taken to the next level!" CD $10 SKU:23104

BUFFALO KILLERS- ANDY GABBARD - Fluff digipack w bonus tracks. (POWER POP with 60s aura) Label:ALIVE Fluff is a magnificent Rock & Roll album overflowing with so many stellar, brain-burrowing melodies, it’s more than fair to call it a Power Pop record (emphasis on both the “power” and the “Pop,” equally). Gabbard recorded the entire album in one 12-hour session and played all of the instruments, something you would never guess by listening — it sounds like a full band that has been together as long as Gabbard’s main project. The guitars are often loud and blissfully fuzzed out, while the bass and drums pound out the rhythms with muscular abandon. Blended with those remarkable, often gorgeous melodies, it creates a sort of joyous “dirty beauty” that is irresistible. – Cincinnati Beat CD $5 SKU:16539

DAHL, JEFF - Pancake 31 ( punk rock legend ) -Label:TRIPLE X 70’s glam feel CD $5 SKU:15556

DATURA4- Demon Blues - digipack w 3 songs not on the LP-Label:ALIVE Hailing from Fremantle in Western Australia, DATURA4 is the brainchild of Dom Mariani (frontman of legendary Australian garage rockers The Stems and Power Pop favourites DM3) and Greg Hitchcock (former You Am I and one-time New Christs’ guitarist). In 2011 they joined forces combining a shared passion for full-tilt boogie, psychedelic rock and progressive blues. CD $10 SKU:16758

DREADFUL YAWNS, The- ST ( Byrds /Buffalo Springfield style psych, GREAT!) LAST COPIES! Label:BOMP Records Great album by one of Cleveland's most exciting band, a modern symbiosis of Buffalo Springfield, VU, Byrds, Nick Drake, and Fairport Convention, to name just a few. With multiple songwriters. “minutes of psychedelic, effects-laden mayhem that few American country-rock outfits since the Grateful Dead have dared to go. I suggest you follow them; this band has "class" stamped all the way through it. - Phil McMullen / Terrascope On Line (UK) CD $15 SKU:23236

FREEDOM'S CHILDREN- Astra (70s South African psych ) Label:FRESH One of the weirdest and most-damaged records ever recorded! long lost reissue of the classic second LP (1970) by Freedom's Children, deemed by many to be their defining moment. Said Nic Martens, one of the engineers for Astra who also played organ on the album: "What many are unaware of, is that Astra was recorded from a Friday night, to the Monday morning… on a four track Studer, eight fader Siemans valve mixer, an echo plate, with some help from a Lesley amp and a modified echo box." Not only did the album capture for posterity the unique sounds, dubbed "astral music" or "acid rock," of arguably South Africa's finest band ever, but it also caught the mood of the drug-infused culture that had taken root on the southern tip of Africa in the post Woodstock love and peace era. From the driving lead of Julian's lead guitar, a perfect match for the amphetamine and speed culture of the day, to the surreal, trippy sound of the band that tuned into the growing use of LSD, Astra captured the mood and the sounds of the early 70s South African music scene. Formed at the height of the hated Apartheid era, Freedom's Children swiftly became South Africa's most innovative sons, incomparable to anyone both musically and politically during those turbulent years. Their explorative, sonic excursions pushed the musical envelope and broke down barriers, culminating in the groundbreaking Astra album, arguably one of the era's most overlooked recordings. A real complex, progressive underground album. Includes both sides of the band’s debut 1967 single (‘The Coffee Song’ b/w ‘Satisfaction) as well as the 1968 single track ‘Little Games’ as exclusive bonus tracks. Excellent liner notes continue the story of a truly important band. with bonus tracks CD $14 SKU:23324

HAUNTED- ST Canadian 60s garage ) 2 LPS on one CD Label:VOXX Arguably the best-remembered Canadian garage band of the '60s,All their recorded output, from the 2 LPs previously released by Voxx (a total of 22 songs), with extensive, informative liner notes. Two classic LP's on this CD. CD $10 SKU:23238

HELL PREACHERS INC /UGLY CUSTARD - Supreme Psychedelic Underground/ Psicosis (UK 60s psych, two great LPS on one CD! ) in mini lp sleeve -Label:GEAR FAB "From the UK, two great psych LPs on one CD, in mini-LP cardboard sleeve format. The Hell Preachers, Inc. were rumored to have had Deep Purple members Ritchie Blackmore, Jon Lord, and Ian Paice on some of these tracks but all three have persistently denied this. Ugly Custard featured the great guitar playing of Alan Parker, who was involved earlier with Hungry Wolf. From 1968 and 1971 respectively, this is fuzzed out guitar and screaming organ! CD $10 SKU:14911

HORSES- ST (Rare 1969 gem CSNY style) Label:GEAR FAB Rare 1969 gem, features songs by Carter-Gilbert who penned "Incense & peppermints" for Strawberry Alarm Clock & "That Acapulco road" for Rainy Daze. blend of Crosby/Stills/Nash/Young and Poco: excellent vocal harmonies, hammond organ & harmonica.3 of the 5 members went on to the Dead-related band KINGFISH. CD $10 SKU:19632

HOWELL,PETER & JOHN FERDINANDO - Alice Through the Looking Glass (trippy 60s psych folk)- Label:LION Trippy psychedelic folk tunes from Peter Howell & John Ferdinando – music for the Ditchling Players' production of Lewis Carroll's Alice Through The Looking Glass from 1969 – plus additionally material that didn't end up in the play! Overall, an evocative mix of traditional folky touches with psychedelia era strangeness – played with organ, glockenspiel, acoustic and electric guitar, mandolin, autoharp, and strange elements of percussionCD $10 SKU:11688

JUJUS - You Treat Me Bad 65-67 (60s garage psych PEbbles style ) Label:CICADELIC RECORDS Since their arrival on the music scene in 1965, the mystique of The JuJus and their lead singer, Ray Hummel, has continued to grow over the ensuing decades (helped along by the inclusion of 'You Treat Me Bad' on the first volume of Pebbles in 1979). Their first single 'You Treat Me Bad' rose to the number two position on the top 40 and catapulted the band to regional fame in Michigan. The JuJus initially blended an impressive brand of folk-rock and British-invasion sounds with a raw garage band sound. In 1967 they opted for a more psychedelic sound. Compiled on this CD are all the JuJu singles, as well as a plethora of unreleased gems from 1965 to 1967. A detailed booklet contains photos, radio surveys, band memorabilia, and a retrospective of The JuJus as related by band member Rod Shepard. The front cover photo of The JuJus features Ray Hummel, Max Colley, Bill Gorski and Rod Shepard. Also pictured are the JuJus at Kent Country Airport during the heigh of JuJu-mania, ready to take on the world in 1965." CD $10 SKU:23101

LOONS - Red Dissolving Rays of Light ( 60s style garage psych) - Label:BOMP The third album by critically acclaimed San Diego garage rockers featuring ex-members of the TELL-TALE HEARTS (the infamous Mike Stax of Ugly Things) and the DIABOLIKS. The album features all new material in the band's distinctively original style, which combines the hard, kinetic drive of European freakbeat, the melodic cool of the '66 Sunset Strip, and intense, atmospheric psychedelia. MONDO DRAG - New Rituals ( psych / stoner rock Radio Moscow related )- Label:ALIVE Trip out with Mondo Drag! From deep in the cosmos of Iowa, this psychedelic outfit has created a strange brew of garage, psych, space, sludge and stoner rock. CD $10 SKU:11162

MYSTIC EYES-Whole World is Watching (primal ‘60s garage rock sound.)Label:GET HIP While each song on Watching is a polished gem, special mention must be given to a few. “Reality Is No Friend of Mine” is an ominous psychedelic pounder, and “So Far Away From Here” is only slightly less intense. While the whole album fits loosely into a modernized folk/rock genre, “I Can’t Wait to Love You” pays loving tribute to the Phil Spector/Jan & Dean sound. CD $10 SKU:22755

PANCAKES -MOKELE GOES TO TOWN (German psych krautsurf)-Label:VOGON German psychedelic krautsurf band The Pancakes featuring Rainer Neeff, also in Zone Six. CD $12 SKU:22704

POP MUSIC TEAM - Society Is A Shit (ultra rare Mexican 60s psych Iron Butterfly/Doors style )Label:VAM MEXICO Pop Music Team were among the first psychedelic bands in Mexico, writing original material influenced by Iron Butterfly, Jefferson Airplane, and the Doors (they even opened for the Doors at the Forum in Mexico City). This is a reissue of their legendary unreleased album, recorded for Orfeon in April 1969, with killer fuzz guitar and organ, mostly sung in English. This music should be known to all psych music heads, but it isn’t: so what happened? It’s simple. A demo recording of the band’s track ‘Tlatelolco 68’ was broadcast on the radio in 1969. The Mexican government heard the track, and immediately quashed the release of the album; their objection: the song described the brutal repression of the student movement in Mexico (students were slaughtered at La Plaza de las Tres Culturas in Tlatelolco, Mexico City). For a long time, about 36 years to be precise, no one knew that an entire album had been recorded, or where to find the masters. But here it is, psychedelic garage jams with sweet fuzz and farfisa, including ‘Tlatelolco 68’, which turns out to be a 10-minute freaked out long jam. Sure, the cover art looks like a bubble gum packet (there was no original jacket art, since the album was never released), but don't let that or the band name scare you. This is wonderful stuff! CD $10 SKU:15123

RED TYGER CHURCH - Free Energy (S.F. Glam Dolls style) LAST COPIES Label:ALIVE The Velvets, New York Dolls and Bowie clearly figure in the Tyger's musical lexicon, .. there's even an overt 'Hunky Dory' homage closing the album. Put Red Tyger Church on the same bill as the BJM and you'd have a flashback worth its weight in mescaline and Mandrax. - Magnet. CD $10 SKU:23700

REV, MARTIN - Cheyenne (ex Suicide ) LAST COPIES! PUNK - Label:ALIVE Solo album by Suicide member. These are actually instrumental remixes of Suicide second album. Import CD $10 SKU: 26475

Originally released in 1972 by Polydor, Sandrose's sole LP features great compositions with wonderful mellotron sounds, excellent guitarwork and the enchanting voice of Rose Podwojny, who, by the way, sung in English. Essential for all fans of f.i. Julian's Treatment, Earth & Fire and Analogy. SIGHTS- Most Of What Follows Is True (Thin Lizzy, Mott The Hoople and Grand Funkstyle, Kick ass, GREAT RECORD!) Label:ALIVE This is classic rock for modern people – especially those who like the harder sound of bands like Thin Lizzy, Mott The Hoople and Grand Funk Railroad. Awesome opening track “How Do You Sleep” may sound like it was recorded 35 years ago, but it, along with much of the record, transcends any era-trappings. It feels current and it kicks ass. The band wisely re-teamed with old producer Jim Diamond, who is responsible for at least 75% of the best straight-up rock records of the past decade (The Dirtbombs, The Ponys, The Whites Stipes…etc), and he doesn’t disappoint here. As with past Sights records, some of the ballads have an “aw shucks” earnestness that I can do without, but those cloying moments are a small price to pay for the live-wire jolt of the album’s best tracks like “Hello To Everbody”, “Take and Take” and “(Nose To The) Grindstone”. CD $10 SKU:12166

SIR FINKS-TRES MEXICANOS) DEL SUR DE TEXAS (1995-2001 TEXAS SURF ROCK) Label:GET HIP 22-Track Retrospective album by Corpus Christi, TX fantastic SURF-ROCK trio! 1995-2001 recordings including all their Wildebeest releases, comp cuts and a few unreleased songs! Killer artwork and fun liner notes with the band’s story, photos, flyers etc CD $10 SKU:22909

TELESCOPES -Untitled Second - first US release w/3 bonus tracks ( psych rock shoegaze) - Label:BOMP THE TELESCOPES don’t get the ink of their 80s/90s psych rock contemporaries like SPACEMEN 3, LOOP or the shoegazers, likely due to their releases being mostly confined to their native U.K. But the band, led then and now by STEPHEN LAWRIE, is just as notable as their scene mates. Originally released on Creation in 1992 (1994 in the States as part of the ill-fated Creation/Tristar deal), this awkwardly titled sophomore album is a fine examples of postpunk psychedelic rock/pop. Dreamy vocals and pretty melodies flow through a gauze of acoustic and electric guitars; the angry stomp of their Stooges period is left behind in favor of lighter rhythms that stop well short of Madchester happy feet. CD $10 SKU:16739

THEE HEADCOATEES - Girlsville ( garage ) -Label:GET HIP These girls are totally in the garage! From the boss cover of “Wild Man” to the hilarious “Dirty Old - Girlsville ( garage ) ) -Man” they bring you the Headcoats sound from another perspective. Other gender flipping covers include “Melvin” (Gloria), “Run For Your Life” and “Boysville.” CD $10 SKU:22742

WEIRDOS - Destroy All Music (1977 Los Angeles punk legends) w booklet- Label:BOMP 30th Anniversary Edition - The Weirdos were in many ways the greatest of L.A.'s punk bands. In early 1977 their mighty sound and singular style were the big-bang igniting the L.A. punk rock scene, as they proclaimed "we're not punks, we're weirdos from Hollyweird!". This wasn't just goofy sloganeering, this was a stance intended to distinguish them from the burgeoning punk rock scenes in New York and London. The Weirdos were not only bringing a new sound and writing teen punks anthems, they were also responsible for their graphics (posters, covers, flyers) and designed their own clothes! Their 1977 Bomp single "Destroy All Music" was a nihilistic anthem, and is now regarded as a classic, and by the time they made their mini-LP two years later they had turned into a powerful, polished band, without losing any of their outrageous attitude. "Destroy All Music - 30th Anniversary Edition " compiles the now classic 1977 EP Bomp and the 1979 "Who, What, When, Where, Why?" mini-LP in its entirety and includes previously unreleased early demos. Comes with a 12 page booklet with photos and liner notes. CD $10 SKU:22947

BACHS- Out of the Bachs - remastered 180 gram (60s garage psych) GERMAN IMPORT- Label:Guerssen Restocked; '60s garage-psych moody monster! Includes insert with detailed liner notes and rare photos.Out of The Bachs was originaally released in 1968 as a private pressing of 150 copies; it's one of the rarest USA '60s garage/teenbeat albums ever. The band consisted of five young kids from Chicago, regulars at local teen dances, who decided to release an album for their fans before splitting up. Recorded and mixed in just ten hours at a makeshift studio, Out of The Bachs offers 12 amazing self-penned songs with a sound ahead of its time. Pure teenage-angst vocals, crashing Rickenbackers, fuzz outbursts, killer moody tracks... Sadly, all previous reissues of the album failed to capture the true sound of the original, until the Time-Lag label reissued it in 2011 with remastered sound from a pristine original vinyl copy. This reissue uses the same audio master as the out-of-print Time-Lag edition. File next to The Rising Storm, The Fantastic Dee-Jays, The Savages. MCKAY-Into You ( WEEDBURNER- One of the holy grails of 70s Indianapolis private-pressdom ) -Label:LION w Updated liner notes and exactly-transcribed lyrics. One of the "holy grails" of Indianapolis private-pressdom (surpassed only by Zerfas and Anonymous) available again in its original format! Ray "McKay" Pierle and his musically-adept brothers and friends partied, jammed and partied some more on Indy's south side throughout the mid-70's, forming a band (Loos) which managed to garner zero media attention at the time. However, Ray's trusty Teac four-track was always close at hand and countless hours of home recordings were induced onto magnetic tape, as well as a few songs laid down at a local studio. After a brief hiatus, the core members reconvened as McKay, and created their sole document, the 300-press "Into You" album (1978); the LP was given to friends and family and consigned in nearby record shoppes. A mere 15 years had to pass before the collecting world discovered the highly-personal songwriting, tight playing, and not-so-well-hidden West-Coast stylistic touches. A vinyl reissue was locally produced back then but it's long gone, so here's a new all analogue, master tape edition for a new generation to savor. •All-analogue pressing, cut directly from the original master tapes. •Licensed from Ray Pierle with his full cooperation and support. •Updated liner notes and exactly-transcribed lyrics. LP $24 SKU:16350

OUTRAGEOUS CHERRY - Seemingly Solid Reality (glam psych) RED ViNYL -LAST FEW! - Label:ALIVE About to go out of print forever, will NOT be repressed!

Throughout SEEMINGLY SOLID REALITY, sweet melodies and harmonies soar over the gnashing of vicious, urban Motor City guitar workouts. Motown-fueled bass and drums throb hypnotically. OUTRAGEOUS CHERRY recently got a lot of love from The NEW P*RNOGRAPHERS who recorded a EP of their songs for Matador titled "Togetherness - The New P*rnographers play Outrageous Cherry" LP $20 SKU:11571
