BLOW YOUR BUBBLEGUM - VA (Brit garage ) - SALE - Label:PARTICLES Amidst the hustle and bustle of the "swinging sixties" an increasing number of young men (and women) were picking up their guitars and drums and heading for the ferry to cross the channeland seek adventure on the continent. Europe offered British bands a virtual playground and most of all, an eager and like-minded audience with paid gigs! Dreams of stardom were built on the blood, sweat and tears of younghopefuls on the Reeperbahn having arrivbed under the influence of the Fab Four and their Hamburg exploits seeking similar rewards. If you were to compose a list of all the British bands that trod their way across the continent and in particular, Germany, you could safely assume that your pen would run dry half way through! BORED TEENAGERS - Vol 7 ( rare UK punk trax, ltd edition ) w 8 bonus tracks ! Ltd ed -Label:BIN LINER This volume features THE SINGLES who were from the Rochdale area and released one of the rarest UK Punk 45s back in 1978 with the controversial title of ‘Adolf Hit’ler. The song is about a German soldier who is the trenches and questions his belief and why he is here! The next two tracks are provided by IN THE GYM with two tracks taken from the incredible rare 45 from 1981. This band hailed from Kidderminster and this was their one and only 45. Following on with the KATZ from Swindon with two tracks taken of their extremely rare 45 from ‘79, plus the CD version features unreleased tracks. Next band to grace your speakers are from our very own Capital CHAOS UK with two super snotty punksters. This was the bands one and only 45 release before re-surfacing as the Mandies. Our next stop is Birmingham with two ultra rare absolute PUNK gems from THE HOBBS. Collectors around with world will be familiar with this band as they release ‘Bop Around The Shop’ on the ‘Big’ label in 1978 BUT did you know that they had an aborted single that they recorded a year earlier for the ‘DJM’ label? Sadly these tracks never came out as the band were dropped in favour to the Satan Rats’. You are gonna be in for a treat with these two blasts….. Now comes THE WHAT?, hailing from South Humberside who released a killer little 3-Track EP in 1979 that includes the anthem ‘East Coast Kids’! (vinyl version has 2 tracks, CD features all 3 tracks). Now we are heading all the way down to Cornwall to THE VENDETTAS, who trod all the Cornish music haunts throughout 1977 and called it a day in 1978.... GREAT rough Punk Rock that will stick in yer head and you’ll find you're self singing the lyrics without knowing it! The next two tracks that come blaring at you are from our front cover stars SKIDMARX. Hailing from Carlisle and relocating to South London and then Brighton this band should have been BIG! They had the look, the songs and definitely the ATTITUDE! Sadly it wasn’t to be… The last band to be featured are SYSTEM X from Enfield in North London. In their life time they offer no vinyl output but did record 5 tracks… All of which can be heard in their full glory (2 on the vinyl version). COMP CD $15 SKU:15852

MOTOR CITY BLUES- VA (great Detroit Blues collection ‘73 ) - Label:ALIVE When one thinks of Detroit, the kind of musical styles that immediately come to mind are the soulful sounds of Motown and primal hard rock like the Stooges, the MC5, and Ted Nugent. While most blues artists are forever associated with the South, Detroit has always been a supporter of blues and roots music. On September 8, 1973, the Ann Arbor Blues & Jazz Festival took place at the Otis Spann Memorial Field, and the 1998 release Motor City Blues compiles the day's highlights. Over 73 minutes in length, the disc is jam-packed with great performances, featuring many obscure artists who prove to be just as talented as the renowned blues giants (Muddy Waters, Albert King, etc.). Some of the artists stray from the standard blues format and incorporate funky rock sounds into their blues, such as Eddie Kirkland's hyper-jamfest "Mojo in Her Backbone" and Little Junior's "I Got My Eyes on You," while the rest of the featured performances are more straight-ahead blues. Other highlights include "24 Years" (Bobo Jenkins), "I Call It Love" (Eddie Burns), "Chicago Breakdown" (Dr. Ross), and "Please Mr. Foreman" (Joe L.), among many others. A truly great blues collection. Greg Prato COMP LP $10 SKU:7047

Iggy Pop and James Williamson's ‘Consolation Prize’ is here, along with previously unreleased live tracks from Guardian Angel and the Rockets. A previously unreleased ‘City Woman’ by Mitch Ryder and Detroit also makes an appearance with a rare track from the original SRC, ‘After Your Heart’. MUSIC FROM PLANET EARTH-VOL 2 Aliens, Teenie Weenie Men, Moonbeams & the Gayway to Heaven 10” - Label:STAG-O-LEE (GERMANY) It's a perennial starting point for conspiracy theories, the perfect excuse for lost homework or any kind of irrational behavior. Alien intervention solves everything. Things from other planets are a sustainable reason for many unanswerable questions and, across the music industry in the late '50s and early '60s, in the wake of a slew of space-based exploitation movies, a series of 45s and suitably unearthly concept albums emerged to capitalize on this burgeoning, bizarre and mysterious idea. Everyone was viewing far off planets with wonder, amazement and the occasional well-directed sound effect. No-one really knew what aliens could do, so the potential for music to accompany whatever they did was limitless. Over 50 years after these sides were released in a fit of futuristic creativity, we're still asking about the potential of water on Mars, puzzling on the rings of Saturn and wondering if anything really did happen at Roswell. "Aliens stole my dog!" screams the headline in the National Enquirer. Of course they did." --Dave Henderson, MOJO magazine, 2014; Features tracks from Cees & His Skyliners, Kenny Hollywood, Danny Wheeler, Dr. Samuel J. Hoffman, Carl & The Spindletoppers, Russ Garcia, Joe & Rose Lee Maphis, Rusty Wellington, Attilio Mineo, Jean-Jacques Perrey, and Sun Ra. COMP LP $24 SKU:16322

MUSIC FROM PLANET EARTH - VOL 1: Martians, Ray Guns, Flying Saucers & Other Space Junk -Label:STAG-O-LEE (GERMANY) First in a series of three 10" records. Limited edition, comes with a sticker. Each copy also comes with 24x24 cm screenprint of the front cover. Signed by artist Marcel Bontempi. Back in the late 1950s and into the early '60s, everyone seemed to become obsessed with the possibility that science fiction might become science fact. Movie houses and drive-ins across America were fascinated by the idea of a Martian invasion, with a suitably Theremin-powered eerie soundtrack, not to mention the prospect of the rise of unruly robots. Never one to miss jumping on a trend, the prolific Jimmy Haskell produced a whole album of space-based tomfoolery called Countdown for the Imperial label. Similarly, in the UK, Joe Meek produced the concept album I Hear a New World to quench his intrigue in the stars, having already peaked the public's imagination with his "Telstar" hit with The Tornados. Meanwhile, in Belgium, in the process of developing new possibilities for sound recording, Tom Dissevelt and Kid Baltan produced the electronic pulse at the heart of "Song to the Second Moon." Aspiring rockabilly performers and early rock 'n' rollers in the southern states picked up on the phenomena while craning their necks upwards. Billy Lee Riley And The Little Green Men, The Wildetones, Buck Trail and Joe Tate all took the idea to new levels of incredulity, while Lynn Vernon's instrumental chops for the Tennessee-based Cover label just needed a suitable title to put it in the frame. But if those southern performers were looking to the skies for inspiration, legend has it that Sun Ra And His Arkestra were looking down on them from their own planet. COMP LP $24 SKU:16381

WHITE NOISE SOUND- St- w Pete Kember of Spacemen 3 Ltd ed. of 200 on RED VINYL mailorder exclusive - Label:ALIVE WHITE NOISE SOUND is the eponymous debut from the Swansea/Cardiff, Wales-based sextet. Completed with the help of Pete Kember (Spacemen 3, Spectrum and E.A.R) and magician Cian Ciaran (Super Furry Animals), the album is is a psychedelic dream-piece, and the realization of a band conjuring their own particular wall-of-sound -- at once relentlessly pulsating and blissed-out.

"In this day and age of ironic and increasingly obtuse band names, a band like White Noise Sound is refreshing. Like the heyday of generic foodstuffs, what you see on the label is exactly what you get here (...) WNS has been influenced by earsplitting bands from both sides of the Atlantic, including Velvet Underground, Suicide, Jesus And Mary Chain and of course the aforementioned Spacemen 3." - MOKB

"Blending corrosive feedback, pulsating krautrock rhythms, floating vocals and wall-of-sound guitars, the track (Sunset) builds and builds into a perfectly judged ear-shattering, blissed out climax." - The Mad Mackerel

"If you're gonna (essentially) cover Spacemen 3's 'Revolution' in 2010, good god this is the way to do it." - Arthur

It has some of the surface trappings of late-'60s records featuring Hendrix and Clapton in the squealing distorted guitars, phasing, and overall transmutation of the blues to a hard rock format. The opening "Overture -- Take Warning" alone sounds like it's determined to stretch the white noise effects that Hendrix used to open songs with a flourish to full-track length. What the album's missing -- unlike most of the recordings by Hendrix and Cream -- is good songwriting, let alone the kind of classics churned out by those role models. They certainly don't lack ambition, as three of the songs use lyrics by Walt Whitman, and they try their hand at a nine-minute jam-type thing, "April '68," as well as a hard blues-rock interpretation of Bob Dylan's then-recent "Down the Cove." But it's the shortest song, "To You," that's the most focused and appealing, very much recalling the shortest and most focused songs of Cream. LP $22 SKU:14963
