LABEL NEWS: FIRENOTE gives a rave to the BUFFALO KILLERS:

From the 60s pop bounce of “Evil Thoughts,” that is complete with several “ba ba bas,” to the warm 70s Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young harmonizing Americana “Applehead Creek,” the Buffalo Killers cover a lot of territory. They have created plenty of tunes that will appeal right to their fan base and more than not, let tracks here evolve, simmer and expand. The progressions within the songs will keep listeners hooked as the psychedelic rock they are so good at consistently surfaces right to the closing “Black Halo.” Alive And Well In Ohio works because the Buffalo Killers continually tweak their sound here, even though its undertone is very familiar. It is a record to absorb, as it only gets better upon repeat listens, and its quality just highlights how the Buffalo Killers are still an “under the radar” band you should hear!"

Be sure to get your STARBURST copy before they are gone.

And VIVE LE ROCK Premieres MARK PORKCHOP HOLDER holde, check it out!

THANKS FOR ALL!

BLUE STRATOS-DIAMOND AFTERLIFE (GARAGE BLUES DUO) -Label:OFF THE HIP Stripped back Melbourne garage duo Blue Stratos pepper “Diamond Afterlife” with enough primal gems to dazzle the most demanding fencer of stolen jewels. Duos playing garagey blues can become samey after continual exposure. There’s plenty of light and shade, however, and Cobra is a pretty fair drummer into the bargain. “Uptown” has a genuine swing in the feel and some sharply serrated guitar. “Kick Your Ass” (their Oblivians cover) is a killer version but the real surprise is the steaming surf-tinged “The Dozens” which sounds like Link Wray on acid. CD $8 SKU:19245

BRAT FARRAR- FIRST- GUY ON COVER (OTH 7112) We have Label:OFF THE HIP Taking his DIY approach to the ultimate level BRAT FARRAR comes rumbling out of a Melbourne bedroom with tunes that sound like they were recorded in 1979 over a cassette version of the first Wipers record. ISAAC ROTHER & THE PHANTOMS- The Unspeakable Horror of.- Label:OFF THE HIP Perfect album for halloween!!Isaac Rother & The Phantoms call back to an era where rock n' roll was simple and dangerous. The voodoo magic of early rock n' rollers such as Bo Diddley and Screaming Jay Hawkins is seamlessly fused with tough 60's groups like the Animals and the tongue in cheek humor of classic novelty hits like Wooly Bully and Surfin' Bird. Today, with the world of music literally at our fingertips, the camp and ritual of rock n' roll has almost been forgotten, residing mainly in the stories and recordings of the past. Isaac Rother and the Phantoms bring back the golden mystic of this past. They do so with top notch musicianship and hard rockin' original material, rendering them a cut above the rest. Behold… The Unspeakable Horror of Isaac Rother & The Phantoms! CD $8 SKU:19246

ADDS TO OUR “ONE ONLY SECTION”, SELLING AT NEAR COST!

SAND- His First Steps (1977 PSYCH GENIUS)Label:ROTORELIEF (FRANCE) Red & green-colored vinyl version. Limited edition of 777 copies. Previously unreleased album by German trio Sand, recorded in 1972. His First Steps is a forerunner of Golem (ROTOR 006CD/LP/BLU-LP/PIC-LP), the legendary 1974 album from the cosmic and psychedelic genius that is Sand. After the split of P.O.T., the early Sand submerged as a threesome in the basement of Claudiusstrasse and built up an alchemical assembling shop, where they resurrected the archetypical Golem. Sand considered themselves as an exile community in a fascinating area -- full of distinctly bizarre energy. Cover painting by Babs Santini, 2009. LP $22 SKU:17695

SANDSTONE- Can You Mend A Silver Thread (70s Psych Folk ) -Label:MISSING VINYL Sandstone's sole 1971 privately pressed album is one of the best and rarest early 70s US psychedelic folk rock records. Although only recently rediscovered, it is very sought after from worldwide collectors both for its rarity and musical quality. Great male female vocals in an early 70s UK psychedelic acid folk rock sound similar to Tudor Lodge, Jade etc. It contains 2 previously unreleased bonus tracks, not included in the original album. Highly recommended! Limited edition, deluxe 180g vinyl, from the original analogue master tapes, exact reproduction of the original first pressing. LP $22 SKU:16715

SANULLIM -The Psychedelic Years, 1977-1979 -Label:DOUNIA RECORDS (FRANCE) Limited edition of 500 copies. At a time when punk is unfolding over England, when guitars are faster and more aggressive, all packed up in protesting slogans against Establishment, in South Korea appears Sanullim, a group formed by three brothers Kim Chang Wan, Kim Chang Hoon and Kim Nan Suk. Instead of wearing studded perfectos and multicolored ridges, the brothers prefer 3 part costumes and psychedelic melodies that were at top of charts around the world, 10 years ago. Sanullim is a well-typed retro 60's band that has nothing to envy to their elders! One has only to listen to Are You Coming In Fall to be convinced! Languid, almost melancholy, with à lot of organ and distortion, this title is a good summary of the potential of Sanullim. Always oscillating between a heavy psychedelic rock like on the title Oh Already, and more pop tunes like It Was Probably Late Summer or Two Of Us, which the organ is not without reminding us of floydians vapors. Sanullim offers us through this compilation, his vision of rock, with a lot of shades. Without just copying, Sanullim have their own sound that will delight lovers of garage and exotic obscurities. The climax of this awesome compilation is the 18 minutes of You Are Already I, where the group leaves free speech to the instruments: guitars filled with a lot of fuzz, weird keyboards and dry bass echoes together to weave a dantesque fresco! A must have for fans of the genre! LP $22 SKU:16529

SANULLIM - THE FIRST LP (Gentle garage-psych with a dreamy west coast flair)-Label:GRANADILLA MUSIC (GERMANY) Fans of proto-garage beat with psychedelic tinges from 1965 to 1967 will go wild for this album. Originally released in 1977, South Korean trio San Ul Lim's debut album sounds like the best psychedelic power pop and garage stuff you could get in the UK and USA ten years before its release. A lovely flashback to the golden age of music. LP $22 SKU:16754

SEVEN THAT SPELLS - SUPERAUTOBAHN (STONER psych)Label:SULATRON It's getting dark on the highway! The Mustang GT's engine is pumping hard, and it seems like there is no end in sight. Three extended songs. One riff per song. The perfect companion for lovers of obscure repetitive psych rock. Seven That Spells in collaboration with Sulatron presents 'Superautobahn' on vinyl. Years of Teutonic deprivation resulted in this mutated modern expression of Kraut. Play loud and drive hard! Featuring Kawabata Makoto of Acid Mothers Temple on guitar. LP $22 SKU:18509

WILDE FLOWERS- ST ( 60s Brit pop ) booklet is packed with photos, cuttings and extensive sleeve notes - Label:VOICEPRINT Booklet is packed with photos, cuttings and extensive sleeve notes from the band members. It is simplistic to merely say that The Wilde Flowers were a popular music group based in the vicinity of Canterbury, England. Although the band name itself may not ring any bells for too many people (they never released any records during the band’s lifetime, from 1964-1967), it was a pillar of the legendary Canterbury scene of the mid-to-late sixties. The Wilde Flowers have assumed an almost mythical status simply because of the musicians that passed through them. Band members included, at various times, Hugh Hopper (bass), Robert Wyatt (drums, vocals), Kevin Ayers (vocals) (all soon to form the Soft Machine), as well as the basis of influential Canterbury band, Caravan: Richard Sinclair (rhythm guitar, vocals), Pye Hastings (guitar, vocals), David Sinclair (keyboards), Richard Coughlan (drums) and Brian Hopper (lead guitar, alto saxophone, vocals). This CD is the very first commercially available record of the Wilde Flowers sessions. A number of tracks on this disc were recorded at a session at Regent Sound Studios on the 6 August 1969, though by this time, the careers of Soft Machine and Caravan were already underway; these tracks are of interest as they feature tracks recorded by Wyatt, Hugh Hopper and Pye Hastings: ‘Impotence’ (Hopper/Wyatt), ‘She Loves To Hurt ‘(Hopper), and ‘Memories’ (Hopper). A fourth track, ‘The Big Show’ (Brian Hopper), also sees Brian Hopper joining in. Thus one of progressive rock's most important bands came to an end with the formation of the Canterbury scene's most popular groups, Soft Machine and Caravan. Not all the members that passed through the ranks of The Wilde Flowers ended up in these two bands. Brian Hopper also formed the short-lived band Zobe, some of whose recordings also appear on this disc. CD $10 SKU:14884

ABSTRACTS - Hey Let’s Go Now (60s Brit invasion style) SALE - Label:BREAKAWAY They were one of the first bands to utilize a light show and besides their sole 45, their legacy contains a cache of unreleased period recordings, some of them made for Columbia Records in 1964. Finally, over four decades later, this album collects the band’s entire studio material alongside two excellent sounding 1966 live tracks. An in-depth insert with a wealth of never-before-seen-photos traces the history of the band that brought “Abstractmania” to the New York area in the sixties. It’s a pleasure for Break-A-Way Records to celebrate the return of The Abstracts and hear them shout again, “Hey, Let´s Go Now”… TRACKLISTINGS ON SITE LP $15 SKU:13551

FABLE - Get The "L" Outta Here (STONER Hendrix style band ltd ed of 500, 3 sided dbl lp, insert, ad photos)Label:LION Includes one page (doubl-sided) insert, w/info and pictures limited to 500 copies (3-sided 2xLP)

PINEAPPLES -Twice On the Pipe (Underground NY)- Label:WICKED APE Downtown New York City in the early '90s was a magical place and time for rock music, with a burgeoning scene and hip clubs galore. Striding like conquering giants into this fertile milieu came THE PINEAPPLES, whose gigs inspired the reverence of fans and other musicians alike. They took the scene by storm, sharing the stages of CBGBs, Maxwell’s, the Knitting Factory and Brownie’s with the likes of Hole, Helmet, Sonic Youth, Lunachicks, White Zombie – hell, even Juliana Hatfield. They had a single that got raves in NME (single of the week); Melody Maker said of their Kramer-produced 'Cocahuates' EP, "it definitely places The Pineapples in that exclusive but growing category of US underground bands heading overground..." But they didn't. Not yet, anyway. It’s a new century, and The Pineapples have, at long last, returned to save us all. LP $12 SKU:19261

RAUNCH - Total Raunch ( classic '60s garagepunk)-Label:BREAK A WAY The Raunch from Ossining, N.Y. were one of the countless mid-'60s groups born into a healthy local garage scene, living the classic story of local bands for two years and then almost forgotten for the last five decades. In the short time of their existence, the Raunch released a legendary 7-inch, made it with one track onto the collectable "Battle Of The Bands" LP on the regionally active Ren-Vell Label and in 1967 recorded another until now unreleased pair of tracks. Both sides of their sole single on Bazaar Records, are good examples of classic '60s garagepunk. 'A Little While Back' is a crude heavy fuzz punker with a blistering guitar solo perfectly backed with 'I Say You're Wrong', a tough n moody song with the classic garage girl-treats-boy-bad lyrics on the flip. While both sides of the 7-inch were group originals written by Sandy Katz, their LP contribution for Ren-Vell was a cover of Paul Revere & The Raiders' 'Hungry', played by the group in their unique "raunchy style" of course. Even more unique is the treatment the boys gave to their unreleased recordings of 'Hey Joe' and 'Tobacco Road'. Again recorded at Ren-Vell in 1967, both covers are unbelievable ultra heavy fuzz killers with a wild brand of slashing and uncompromising guitar playing. Despite losing several battle of the bands contests, their ultimate victory comes in the shape of this one-sided Break-A-Way release. Five tracks with enough excitement and power for two LP sides, all of which are '60s savage garage punk and, once heard, unforgettable. LP $14 SKU:16485

SERGUEI - Psicodélico 1966-1975 SALE - Label:GROOVIE ranges from psychedelic to garage psych, fueled by fuzz guitarS LP $14 SKU:16099

TROYES-Love Comes, Love Dies: The Troyes Complete recordings (1966-68) ESSENTIAL MICHIGAN GARAGE PSYCH)-Label:LION Essential Michigan garage/psych! Propelled by their local chart-topper 'Rainbow Chaser,' Battle Creek quintet The Troyes entered the orbit of bandleader Ray Anthony (“Dragnet”, “Peter Gunn”), laying down a multitude of fuzztone laced tracks throughout 1966-1967 that, save for one 7” release on his Space Records label, remained unreleased on vinyl—until now. The Troyes exploded onto the music scene with 'Rainbow Chaser'. Sensing a new phenomenon, famed bandleader Ray Anthony signed the group to his new rock label Space Records. His faith in the band was so big that nearly two albums worth of material were recorded at United Sound (Detroit). Unfortunately, only two singles were issued. Far-out psychedelia, unhinged fuzz and farfisa garage, moody haunting sounds, face melters (check out 'Corn Flake')—it's all here. Rare photos, radio surveys, newspaper articles, Troyes memorabilia, and the story of a band that could have been big.

“Dare I say, even far better than the oft-lauded, collectible brigade of both reissued and unissued ‘60s LPs. The Bachs? The Dimensions? The Tempos? The Rising Storm? Public Nuisance? Sorry. This Troyes disc trumps them all.” —“Moptop” Mike Markesich, Ugly Things

"Had a Troyes LP come out in 1967, it would be well ensconced today as one of the Top 5 best from the era" —Ugly Things

"'Take 'Morning of the Rain' as a starting point: not satisfied with a ferociously twisted Dave Davies-aping "metal riff" they subject you to a blazing torrent of fuzztone and a growl of feedback topped with sinister Farfisa tones—a hundred Nuggets sets are woefully bereft of this unissued scorcher." —Shindig!

•"Essential? You bet." —Shindig!

•Masters meticulously prepared and cut for vinyl.

•Comes in deluxe tip-on jacket, including photos, newspaper articles, and the story of a band that could have been big.
