WAREHOUSE FINDS!

Yep, Ms Suzy has outdone herself this week! Found a tub buried in the warehouse best labeled “What do I do with THESE???” Some interesting and varied items, including a bunch of pretty nice, mint records but with no jackets! Figured I’d toss em on the cart and let you guys hear the tunes at a serious discount instead of tossing them out, some good titles. And a bunch of one of a kind singles and some more really cute fliers, including a very funny one designed and writer by Greg Shaw for STIV BATORS.

AND AS ALWAYS ON TUESDAY, some additions to the $5 and under section and a featured section of vinyl that I’ve discounted.

If that isn’t enough, we have a big restock from our friends at Dionysus Records, lots more of their titles available on our site too.

Start shopping!
Suzy Shaw

WARLOCKS - s/t - ONE COPY ONLY, RED VINYL Label:BOMP Records COLOR VINYL. Debut EP CD. Amazing band, think Velvets, Spacemen 3, 13h Floor Elevators. “On its six-track debut, this L.A. band seems to exist in a kind of opiated haze, redolent of Spacemen 3, a heavier Velvet Underground, and (I suppose) the Jesus and Mar Chain. Occasionally things get a bit more wired, as on the awesomel rollicking "Cavemak Rock." Bomp supremo Greg Shaw is known to be a big fan of these guys, so they'd get my vote even if they didn't have the class to close their album with a 12-minute, 35 second workout entitled "Jam of the Warlocks." - The Big Takeover LP $10 SKU:18156

HELL ON HEELS - Dogs, Records, and Wine SALE - Label:DIONYSUS Hell on Heel's second album, Dogs, Records & Wine, was produced and engineered in by Jack Endino (Whose previous credits include Mudhoney and Nirvana) The tough-girl vocals, gritty guitar sound and vaguely psychedelic organ that permeates tracks like "Send Him" and "Made Like No Other" fondly recall the sixties punk inspired sound of the early Pandoras. The songs themselves contain an infectious pop sensibility. In addition to lead singer Paula Monarch's voice, bassist Chela sings lead on "C'mon Turn Me On", keyboardist Helene (also a member of Tucson's Okmonics) sings "Matter of Time" and cover of Lulus' "I'll Come Runnin'. Original bad girl Nikki Corvette provides guest vocals on "Pretty Mess". "What I wanted to do was make a record that sounded like some freaky love-child of Paula Pierce and Dave Vanian with Mary Weiss as my step-sister," says Paula "and here it is."LP $14 SKU:6976

SATELLITERS- More Of - ( COLOR VINYL, download, old style stick on board jacket - 60’s garage gods ) - Label:DIONYSUS The Satelliter's "What's Up With Timothy Dee" was original released by Screaming Apple Records and contains 16 songs they recorded at IronBar Studios in Darmstadt with production assistance by Lolo Blumler and Toe-Rag, London with the legendary Liam Watson producing the UK sessions. This was their most pounding, roaring and authentic trip into US-American mid-sixties garage-punk up to date, mixing harp-driven punk-tunes, raving instrumentals and well-assorted cover-versions (BOB SEGER SYSTEM`s "2 + 2 = ?", THE EVIL'S "Movin On" and THE REMAINS' "Once Before"). Released on vinyl and CD, the record sold out fast after rave reviews in Rolling Stone, Visions, Spex and Ox. Now the vinyl version of this fine platter is available again through Dionysus Records/ USA - the official label of THE SATELLITERS since 1996!

COSMIC MICHAEL- St ( Ultra-crude basement garage psych and acid-boogie-blues from 1969 ) - Label:OUT-SIDER Ultra-crude basement garage psych and acid-boogie-blues from 1969!!! First ever vinyl reissue, original artwork, insert with reproduction of the original poster plus pasteable reproductions of original LP labels like those that came with the original release. Newly remastered sound

Who was the mysterious Cosmic Michael? Nobody knows for sure…rumour goes that he was a freak from New York who later relocated to the West Coast after living the Woodstock dream. That’s all we know about him. But before vanishing without trace, Cosmic Michael self-released a couple of primitive, home-made albums on his Bliss label. This is his first one, DIY stoner bluesy garage psychedelia with crude organ, guitars and vocals. Featuring underground classics like “Cosmic Michael Theme” (covered in 2013 by neo-psych band Psychic Ills) and “Now That You’ve found it” among others.. “One of the least “cosmic”-sounding cosmic LPs around, with a loose urban soundcheck vibe using equal parts Vox organ, piano and crude guitar, on top of which Michael semi-improvs lyrics to a steady basement boogie beat. An unusual LP that falls between any genres you can think up; The top attraction is Cosmic Michael’s “Theme” which describes in third person the acid-indulged transformation he’s undergone: “…some kind of chemical change is going on in poor Michael’s brain…” set to a rockin’ garage fuzz beat” - Patrick Lundborg (Acid Archives) “…Stoned '60s DIY rock 'n'roll. You can call it lo-fi or home made, but the message remains: Cosmic Michael preaches love and freedom, and he's a mean boogie-woogie player too. The songs run one after the other, as if part of one spontaneous recording …” - Forced Exposure. LP $25 SKU:16546

CRYSTAL SYPHON - Family Evil ( ltd ed lost West Coast 60s psych with download ) REPRESSED - Label:ROARATORIO Repressed. "Crystal Syphon, one of the greatest 'lost' groups of the West Coast psych scene, came together in Merced, California in 1965. Originally a Beatles / Byrds-influenced unit called the Morlochs, they soon shed their original moniker and moved in a more psychedelic direction, becoming a fixture on the ballroom circuit from 1966-1970. Although their music may nod in the direction of the New Tweedy Brothers and Quicksilver Messenger Service at times, it's imbued throughout with a distinctive sound that arose from practicing up to six nights a week. The band entertained offers from various labels during their existence, but as they insisted on complete artistic control and ownership of their music, no deals were struck. Now, some 44 years after its creation, Roaratorio is proud to make the music of Crystal Syphon available for the first time ever. Drawn from studio tracks, rehearsal tapes and a live recording from the Fillmore West, Family Evil is released with cover art by Norman Orr and extensive historical liner notes on an old-style 'tip-on' jacket. Digital download included." LP $22 SKU:16653
